((Sorry, I was busy with other guilds))
Lucas sighed as he watched their little group talking, and he shook his head.
"I... I guess I could go... I, uh... I'm not so keen on 'training', since, well... what exactly do I have that requires training? A regen factor, and that's automatic... so, yeah. I guess I'll go." he said.

James sat there in the shadows waiting and listening to them talk. He thought to himself.
"If they do not train or prepare for a mission, the surely will get beaten back. Making sure you a physically and mental ready is what makes a mission successful, if that is not done defeat will be sure to follow."

"Well, wait a minute." Alex said. "I'm not that familiar with all powerful beings or whatever, but...if you can't look into the area, then where exactly is it?"
The voice hesitated for a beat before replying. "Hell. The being responsible for merging this world did something to the core of it. But I am unable to see what he did, and unable to physically go there myself."

"So we're doing the ST Guard job?" Blaze asked with an eyebrow raised. "They're the ones who stopped things bigger then this hundred of times." He said recognizing the fact he wasn't even that strong for Hell.

Lucas just gave a half-hearted shrug.
"If I'm gonna be a superhero, then... well, I guess I'll start by going to Hell and stopping stuff. That oughta get me some cred..." he said, half-joking. Honestly, he wasn't sure if he had what it took for this, but he knew that his own heroes wouldn't have shied away away from this... and so he decided he wouldn't either.

With a funny look on her face, she held the paper and put it to her face. "But Jackie, what makes you think we'll have any more luck with this?" But her sister was already reading, her eyes flicking back and forth. Victoria had wanted to journey out of this small town, to go to another city where superheroes usually thrived, to possibly find a trace of one. There, where the bulk of heroes seemed to gather, they'd have the best chance to find someone. At least they'd have a chance. But her sister had denied the idea, bringing up how dangerous it would be to travel to such a place. It was always brought up that where there were more heroes, there were more villians, and only the heroes had been reported as missing. That was always the end of that conversation. Victoria sighed, seeing that it was no use anymore, and turned to her own paper, quickly reading as well. She skipped through it, though didn't miss a word, and came out the back side of the paper thirty seconds later with a dissapointed frown. "Mine's got nothing. Only panic that no one has seen them." She looked up to her sister, wondering if there would be any consolation on her face, but returned to her shoes in a second, not wanting to see her sister for some reason. Perhaps to avoid her dissapointed face. Perhaps to avoid looking at the coat she wore. It reminded her too much of daddy. Just the thought of him made Victoria choke up a bit, and she walked away quickly, swallowing and sitting on the small couch. Nymphs, a reasonably skinny and jet black cat, hopped on her lap. With pouting lips and solemn eyes, Victoria looked down to the purring ball of fluff and pet it's back, returning her earbuds to her ears and pressing the play button once again. Perhaps Owl City could yank her out of this nightmare. She sighed. Doubtful.

Jaquelyn looked up briefly, her eyes following her sister before she took her place in the middle of the paper. After about ten more seconds, she slapped the Central Times down on the table and gave a muffled sound of surprise. She was staring at a couple articles by reporters back from the coasts.
"Look at this, 'San Fransisco's massive communications break is finally at an end. With thousands of eye-witnesses from surrounding cities and video feeds recording the scene outside the dome, we catch its disappearance into seemingly nothing...' Vickie-"
She pulled off the coat and placed in on the seat of the chair next to her as she leaned over the newspaper.

Alex just stood and stared at the others with wide eyes. "He wants us to go WHERE?!" she hissed. "Are you kidding me? The most I've ever tackled are freaking power injected science experiments and an ungodly rich ******** with whatever power he wants sitting on his ring finger." And this being wanted them to go...that was...UGH. What the bloody hell did she get herself into now?! She shouldn't have said or thought or whatever she did to jinx herself earlier. This was insane.

"You do not have to go. I am simply leaving it as an option." the being replied.
Alex calmed down just a tad, but she was still...UGH. "So then, what now? I know I wasn't in the middle of a grand fight or anything, but I wasn't exactly sitting on the couch flipping through channels either."

As the group talked, a red-and-gold blur zoomed above them in the night sky before stopping mid-flight, and then the figure itself landed. Lucas' jaw dropped. The man was white, with black hair and blue eyes that had an odd vigor in them... like a child's, almost. He stood at the same exact height as Lucas, and his body seemed even more physically fit than Lucas' did-- how what that even possible?! Lucas then looked the man up and down, observing the brightly colored costume-- crimson-and-gold spandex (or maybe something similar), and a short, white cape with a gold trim that seemed to hang over one shoulder, which Lucas found extremely odd.
"Evening, everyone!" the man said cheerfully, flashing a brilliantly white smile. "I sensed a great power here, and thought I'd stop in and see what was what."
"Uh... excuse me, I don't mean to be rude, but... who are you?" Lucas asked. Rather than be offended, the new arrival grinned and chuckled.
"I'm Captain Marvel! It's a pleasure to meet you!" the man said, holding out a hand to the rookie. Lucas shook the man's hand and looked him in the eye; there was just something... different about this "Captain Marvel". It wasn't bad, but Lucas simply couldn't place it. The guy seemed to shine with an odd, cheerful radiance that Lucas thought must mirror his own persistent optimism.
"I'm Paragon... I'm a rookie hero." Lucas said, lowering his hand, before gesturing to the others: "That's Flashstep and... uhh, Alex? Yeah, Alex." he said, and Marvel nodded to both of them in turn.
"And what're you three doing here?" Marvel asked. Lucas thought.
"Well... it's a long story. Apparently, all these different universes-- including my own-- got cobbled together and now people and places from all of them have been thrown together. We were assembled to go into Hell, where the person who allegedly made this happen is waiting, I guess." he said, and Marvel looked at him seriously.
"Holy moley! So that's what happened?!" Marvel asked, and Lucas raised an eyebrow. Who said "holy moley" anymore?!

"Captain MARVEL!" Blaze said like he was a three year old. He had seen him on tv but had seen him as a hero none the less. "As he said I'm Flashstep."He said as he held his hand out to shake.

Captain Marvel smiled widely, shaking Flashstep's hand.
"Well, golly! Hello there-- a pleasure to make your acquaintance! Always nice to meet a fan!" he said, still cheerful. Lucas raised an eyebrow.
"Huh... looks like you're famous in your own universe... Flashstep here makes me think I'd act that way towards Captain America, maybe... or Spider-Man."
"Well, I'll be honest Paragon-- I've got no idea who you're talking about, but I guess they must be big heroes!" Marvel said in reply, still beaming.
"Well, I don't suppose there's any help I could be? Where I come from, my powers won't work in Hell, but... maybe due to these fluctuating universes, Hell here would be different?" Marvel mused, more to himself than the others. Then he shrugged.
"Ah, well, doesn't hurt to try, at least. So, how exactly can we get there?" he asked, seeing if at least Flashstep would have an answer.

{Enter Zatanna from JLA Satellite}
In a shower of silver sparks and a sudden flock of white magician's doves, Zatanna appeared, relief obvious on her face. Her attention was focused almost exclusively on Captain Marvel, although she did spare a mildly startled look and a polite nod for Alex. "Captain Marvel," she said at once, "Thank God. How long have you been here? You haven't seen any other JLA people, have you?"

Captain Marvel frowned for the first time, and shook his head. "No. Mary and I have been staying in Fawcett City for a while now, just patrolling the area there. But... a little while ago I decided to go flying again outside Fawcett-- just to get out again, y'know? And while I was passing through Keystone City, I sensed an energy spike. I investigated, and here I am. These three young ones are planning to go into Hell-- they were summoned here by... someone. Spectre, maybe? Anyway, they were told that whoever caused all the universes to combine is residing there, and were offered the chance to go in and try and take him out."
He stopped, and laughed. "Oh, I almost forgot! You don't know these people, except Alex it seems."
He turned to Lucas, who was staring at Zatanna, as if hypnotized. "This is Paragon, and that's Flashstep. Paragon, Flashstep, meet Zatanna Zatara, Mistress of Magic."
Lucas blushed crimson, and hastily averted his gaze from Zatanna. "H-hello..." he managed to stammer, and Marvel looked at him with slight amusement.
