"Don't worry," Nyx grinned. "I have excellent luck."

"Alright," The guy smiled. "Place your bet. I'll double whatever you put down if you win."

"Anything I put down?"

"Anything," The man agreed, though he obviously didn't expect to lose at this game.

"Okay," Flipping through her cash Nyx put down a hundred dollar bill right on the spot. "I bet that. Now show me what you got."

The guy's eyes lit up at the sight of money, his grin broadening as he set the little red ball on the table. "Alright, but watch carefully." Placing the cups on the table, one of them over the ball, the guy started to move them around. He moved slowly at first but his shifting picked up speed to the point it was hard to see what he was doing. Nyx didn't even seem to be paying attention all that much either, just casually watching like someone on the sidelines.

"Alright, take your pick."

"There's no way I could have played," Mitsu said. Her eyes had lost track of the correct cup long ago. Though she had no idea the ball wasn't actually on the table any longer but in the gentleman's sleeve.

"Hmm..." Nyx seemed to think over her choices carefully. "I think I'll pick this one." The shifter not only pointed at the one she wanted but touched the table in front of it. It looked like there had been a spark of some kind but it happened so fast it was hardly noticeable.

"Sorry to disappoint you little lady but you made the wrong choice," The man grinned lifting the cup but when he did underneath it sat the little red ball. Or at least one that looked like it.

"I'm sorry, what was that?" Nyx asked pointing to the object on the table.

"W..wait but I..." The man seemed to be in disbelief. What had happened?

"I believe you owe me some cash." A rather cruel looking smile crossed Nyx's lips as she held out her hand for the money. Reluctantly the man pulled out his wallet and paid the amount he owed. He had never lost a game before, he was sure he had taken the ball off the table.

"Wow, how did you do that?" Mitsu asked in amazement.

"I told you I have good luck," Nyx grinned pocketing her new cash.

"Yeah, I guess I could ride some rides." But as they approached that area Mitsu quickly realized the majority of the rides had to do with heights.

"Want to go on the Ferris Wheel, Mitsu?" Nyx asked pointing at the large structure.

Mitsu quickly shook her head shying away, clutching at her new stuffed animal like it might protect her. "I..I don't like heights." It was an understatement really. She was terrified of heights to a paralyzing degree.

"Well, the best way to get over a fear is to face it," Nyx smiled taking Mitsu's arm and leading her in that direction.

Mitsu was quick to dig her heels into the ground, a look of terror coming to her face. She did not want to get on that thing and she looked like she would fight if she had to. "Nononono." Mitsu shook her head vigorously, her tail bristling out in fear.

Nyx looked back when Blade managed to slow her progress of moving Mitsu all the more. For a moment her eyes looked rather forceful until they softened. "Okay...sorry." She said letting go of Mitsu's arm. If Mitsu didn't want to go she wasn't going to force her. At least with this. Later on Blade wouldn't be there to help her.

Taking a step back after she was let go, Mitsu hid behind Blade slightly to avoid being grabbed again if Nyx changed her mind. When the carousel was brought up Mitsu looked over toward the ride. It was at least on the ground and didn't look scary by any means. "I'll ride the carousel." She said softly.

"Alright, the carousel it is then," Nyx had softened her tone a little as she made her way toward the ride. She didn't want to scare Mitsu away after all. The shifter would need her later tonight.

After the rides Mitsu was pretty much worn out for the day. She was ready to go back to the dorm and rest, which was pretty apparent when she let out a yawn. "I'm getting tired."

It seemed throughout the rides Nyx had become more and more distracted though it wasn't easy to tell what was on her mind. "I guess we can call it a day if you want, it is getting pretty late." And it was about time to set her plan into action. Nyx didn't want to do anything while the sun was still up.

"Yeah, I guess let's head back then," Mitsu agreed.

With a nod Nyx followed besides the others as they weaved through the crowd to leave. Her steps were rather light and there was a slightly serious look in her eyes that hadn't been there before.

Once they were clear of the carnival Nyx followed beside the two for a time before she seemed to remember something. "Oh, I was going to stop by the store before I go back to the dorm." Looking to Mitsu she smiled softly. "Do you mind coming with me? I have something to ask you."

Nyx glanced over at Blade when he asked where she needed to go. It would figure he would inquire, and would probably offer to walk them there and then back to the door. Such a gentleman, but she really didn't want him to tag along. Not only did she not want to deal with subduing an extra person...but she really didn't want to hurt him. It was bad enough what she was going to do to Mitsu. There was actually a small sense of regret building up.

"I have to go to the pharmacy. Girl stuff that's why I was hoping to talk to Mitsu." It was vague, sounded private, maybe it would be enough to deter Blade from coming along. If not well...she might have to spout something that sounded much more personal which would be awkward, but hey, it wasn't like she hadn't lied before.

"I don't mind coming along," Mitsu said, shuffling the toy in her arms. "We won't be gone that much longer right?"

"No, we won't be gone too long," Nyx lied.

Nyx was a little relieved when Blade didn't insist on coming along. Apparently he got the message, even if it was a false message. "Alright, we'll catch up with you later then." It was also a lie because after tonight she would be gone.

"See you later," Mitsu waved before following behind Nyx to where she needed to go. They went a little ways down the street before Mitsu finally turned to Nyx. "So what did you want to talk about?"

Nyx seemed to think over what she wanted to say for a moment before looking back to see if Blade was in sight. When it didn't seem like he was she turned to Mitsu, a torn look on her face.

"I'm sorry about this, Powderpuff." Nyx said softly before she pulled the girl close, aiming a punch right for Mitsu's diaphragm. The close movement was enough to conceal what she had done from anyone that might have looked. The fact that she was holding Mitsu also kept the girl from collapsing to the street.

Mitsu let out a small startled sound of pain before she started to go limp, the air having rushed from her lungs. The punch had been high but she could still feel the stitches holding her wound together stretch and tear. The pain only graced her mind for a moment though as everything went dark, her body only being held upright because Nyx was supporting her.

Easily moving Mitsu to the alleyway, Nyx threw the girl over her shoulder when they were out of sight moving to a much more secluded location to continue with her plan. It took a fair amount of time to make it into the heart of the city and even more to make it into and through a building with an unconscious girl but finally Nyx was where she needed to be, on a ledge three stories down from the roof of the highest building in the area.

Setting Mitsu down she prepared to bound the girl when she noticed there was something wet on her shoulder. Touching the spot it looked like blood. Where had that come from? Looking back to the wolf girl Nyx noticed that her shirt around her midsection was wet with the same substance. Carefully she lifted her shirt to see the damage a little surprised to see the wound and stitches. What had happened to the girl?

Well...it was too late to change her plans now so Nyx was going to have to make this work. Quickly she transmuted some bandages which she used to tightly wrap Mitsu's wound. At least it would keep the girl from bleeding out. Nyx needed her alive for now after all. Once that was complete she bound Mitsu with a rope she had brought up to the building ledge along with some other supplies earlier in the day.

Job complete Nyx searched Mitsu's pockets shortly before coming up with her phone. Flipping the device open Nyx looked at Mitsu for a moment before she aimed the cheap camera phone at the girl and snapped a picture. Hopefully this would get Shun's attention or Nyx would have to do something a little more drastic.

Sending the picture to the number in Mitsu's phone that matched the assassin's name Nyx continued with her work waiting to see if she would get a response. If so, the game would continue from there.

Nyx had just finished securing Mitsu where she wanted her when the phone in her pocket started to ring. That was fast. Reaching for the device Nyx flipped it open to accept the call and was graced with Shun's pleasant voice on the other end. Despite his words she smiled rather ruthlessly, continuing to set up the devices she had brought.

"Long time no talk to, Smiles. It's good to hear your chipper voice on such a nice night." She said casually. There was no use playing games any longer, tonight she wanted to end it. "Unfortunately if you want the girl to be let go you're going to have to do something for me."

"It's quite simple really. I want you to suffer like you made me suffer. You took someone from me and I plan to do the same." Nyx's voice was suddenly harsh, the years of cruelty that she had endured pouring out at once.

"But I am a giving person, Smiles." Her voice was suddenly light again, it made her sound a little unhinged. "I'll give you a chance to save her. Fight me and you win and she gets set free. Lose and you get to watch her die shortly before I end your life."

There was a sudden beeping noise and Nyx made a sound of surprise over the phone. She had accidentally armed one of the small bombs she had brought. Picking up the device she chucked it over the building just in time for it to make a hefty boom. "Oops, don't worry I brought spares."
