Ezra could tell from the boy's reaction that Ezra issue had made him less concerned. "No, you don't understand. I don't want to date her or nothing, I just... she's so interesting! I thought that we could be friends, someone who I don't have to be tough around. But I blew it by being an idiot," He muttered with a shake of his head. Listening to the Slytherin's advice Ezra chuckled a bit. "Pretty sure this chick could easily hate me forever..." He assured him.

When Quillan shrugged off Ezra's comment, the Gryffindor tried to forget about it. But it wasn't just the nose... It was his accent, that smirk he sometimes showed, his bright hair.. Eyes widening, Ezra came to realization.
"You're that wanker who knicked my pen in potions!" Ezra growled, standing above the boy angrily. "How could I forget.. you hit me with a piece of food or something when I chased you, so I gave you a bruise much nastier than that wound," Ezra reminisced. He was about to help the Slytherin 'remember' by slogging him over the head when he noticed the chocolate frog still in his hand.

Sighing, Ezra shook his head and backed down, avoiding Quillan's gaze. Shoving the rest of the chocolate in his mouth he swallowed and laughed.
"I guess we're even.. why do you get into trouble so much anyway? You seem almost as stupid as me in that way," Ezra commented, cocking his eyebrow in curiosity. This kid seemed to be the source, or receiver, of almost every first year that had been admitted into the hospital wing this year.

"It's fine, Matt, let's just get your sister and leave." Saga grabbed his arm and pulled. She knew that the Slytherins weren't going to apologize, it wasn't in their nature! And she knew that there'd be a huge show down if they did wait around for the Slytherin's to do so--in fact, from the looks on the others students' faces, Matt would get smacked around a few times before any such apology came from their mouths! Why does he have to play the hero so much!? Saga wondered, tugging on his arm again and hurried down the hall. Every now and then, she'd glance back to see if the Slytherins were following them. Thankfully, all seemed like it was alright.

"You're really noble, you know that, Matt?" Saga commented, releasing his hand. "And don't get me wrong, I really appreciate that you stood up for me--I do." She continued, staring straight into the hallway in search for Eleanor. "However... I'd prefer if you didn't get yourself bloodied for me--it's not worth it, y'know? We have to go find your sister anyway!" Saga concluded, smiling at him thankfully before continuing her journal down the hallway.

"Isn't that her? With Eswen!" Saga pointed, lightly smacking him in the arm to get his attention. "She doesn't look very upset anymore..." Saga observed. Suddenly, Eleanor lunged at Eswen. For a second, she thought a cat fight was going to break out, but instead, Eleanor hugged the other girl. "Yikess! I didn't see that one coming..." Saga commented to Matt with a chuckle, "I thought your sister was going to give her a pounding!" Now that she thought of it, it seemed rather uncharacteristic of Eleanor--not that Saga had known her long enough to fully tell.

"Where'd that Slytherin boy go anyway?" Saga blurted out, finally remembering what their original mission was. He was no where to be found and neither was Ezra.

"Are you acting tough around me too?" Quillan instantly required before he could stop himself. If this was the Gryffindor's tough, there was NO way he was in the right house! There was a freakish grin on his face from his words. What a kid! He continued to smile to himself for a few seconds before turning to look in Ezra's direction. He looked like he was feeling better now--at least he didn't have to deal with the sobbing anymore! And then a little thought hit Quillan, "You're acting rather exaggeratedly if you just want to be friends with her, mate. Hate to say it, but I wouldn't go around bawlin' me eyes out if someone I wanted to be friends with didn't like me--that happens quite a lot, mind you." What he said hadn't depressed Quill at all. But then again, his for of friendship was many times stranger than other peoples'. Many more times than not, he didn't want companionship. He wanted amusement. Companionship and amusement didn't seem that different in Quillan's mind though.

"What did you do, by the way?" Quillan inquired with mild curiosity. This boy seemed friendly enough and minus his waterworks, he wasn't that annoying to be around.

But then the next thing Ezra said caused Quillan's opinion of him to flip flop. "That was you!?" I want my frog back! He thought with a pout. That guy had given him some damage and for no apparent reason too! "What are you talking about? I didn't take your pen!" Quillan insisted, frowning at the boy. He did a lot of things, but he didn't flat out steal. "I did find one left on my desk though, but finders keepers, mate." Quillan shrugged, trying to suppress his urge to whack the other boy over the head with the nearest blunt object.

Then the frog was gone. Quillan watched mournfully as Ezra devoured the last bit of chocolate. I wasted a frog on this bloody git! How many did he have left now? Twelve? Mm... they were depleting rather quickly--far too quickly in fact. Oh, we're not even at all, Gryffindor... He thought, but Quillan just grinned at him. "I frankly don't know what you're talking about! I'm an angel, and you don't hear anyone (beside the teachers and the other students) say otherwise!" Quillan protested, his chest puffing out rather proudly. "And hey, don't group me on the same boat as you. I'm rather smart if I apply myself--it's just that I chose not to. It's a choice!" Quillan explained, shoving his hands in his pockets. He didn't like being called stupid. The urge to whack Ezra over the head quickly returned.

Why am I not? He wondered for a second, tilting his head to the side, just staring at Ezra for a second. Huuuh... A bit dazed, he meandered in a circle before finding a hard-cover book and returning over to Ezra. Within seconds of his arrival, Quillan smashed the book over the top of the boy's head. Then, he dropped the evidence and made a wild run into another hallway. "AHHH! Everyone run! We have an love-sick pup on our hands--I think it might be contagious!" Quillan yelled, running past a group of three students.

Then he skidded to a stop, realizing who he had just passed. It was that nosy Ravenclaw, his giddy sister, and the girl Ezra was love-struck about. Seeing a one-in-a-life-time opportunity in front of him, he waited till Ezra chased him down the corner before grabbing onto Eswen's arm forcefully and planting a slobbery kiss on her cheek. Then he pranced over to Eleanor and did the same thing.

"SEE!? Contagious, I tell 'ya!" After that, he ran like a mad-man. Quillan was sure he'd get more than a slight beating for his antics this time! Plus, there were four of them this time!

"He was crying?" Eswen inquired, her voice weak. I-I don't understand... why would be crying--it can't be because of me, right? She tried to reassure herself, but from what Eleanor said, he had gotten really upset when she had stormed off. Oh no... If she had misunderstood the situation, she was completely in the wrong! Eswen had acted so cruelly towards Ezra! Oh no, oh no! She had wronged him so much! Panicking a bit, Eswen swallowed hard and forced herself to listen to the rest of what Eleanor said. However, no matter how hard she tried, she just couldn't devote her full attention to what the girl was saying, just nodding somewhat understandingly at her words. Her mind was too wrapped around the situation with Ezra--Eswen felt awful! He might've been in the wrong to use her, and Eswen sincerely thought that he was, but she never thought she would make him so upset! If she knew this was going to happen, she would've just sucked up and allowed Ezra to use her--Oh Merlin! I didn't mean to make him cry!

For someone to cry, it meant that something horrible had happened! Eswen couldn't stand that she had been the one to make him cry, though she thought she would be bothered by anyone crying. Her father always taught her not to cry, he never liked it much when she did. While he said crying was good now and then, it was a sign of weakness. He warned time and time again not to get upset by petty things--had she overreacted to what Ezra had done? Wasn't it just a small matter... No matter now, what was done was done. She just had to fix the situation--right? Eswen didn't want to be the cause of someone crying... Especially not someone like Ezra, he didn't phase her as the type to break down and cry often...

Her attention was diverted by someone yelling as they ran down the hall. Mildly curious, Eswen turned her head to watch the red haired Slytherin boy bellow some more. A contagious love-sick puppy? She wondered as he ran by. When it had dawned on her that he was making fun of someone, Eswen stiffened. How cruel! As he if had heard her, the boy skidded to a stop and stared at her. After the sound of more footsteps entered the hallway, she found that Quill was walking towards her. "U-um... May I help you?" He was getting uncomfortably close to her and Eswen backed up nervously, tensing. "Um... what are--"

Suddenly, grabbed her arm and yanked her towards him, planting a wet kiss on her cheek. What? Eswen blinked, trying to register what had happened because surely, he hadn't just kissed her like she thought he did! With a horrified expression on her face, she slowly mustered up her courage and brought her hand to cheek where she found saliva. Eswen thought she was going to gag right there. There was saliva on her face of some random Slytherin! Eswen watched in more horror as the boy skipped over to Eleanor and did the same to her. What the--why?! Eswen shivered, her fingers lingering on her cheek. What's going on!? Eswen muffled a sob, frightened by what just happened. He had just kissed her, right?

But why?

He seemed to have taken a look back before bolting off again, leaving Eswen feeling stupefied. "W-why.. why did he do that?" She whimpered, feeling disgusting and violated. Kisses were only for people in love! How dare that boy do that to both of them! With her sleeve, she began to rub the saliva off her cheek rather viciously, causing her skin to redden. I still feel it! She rubbed harder, trying to forget the pressure and wetness of his lips.

Matthew let Saga lead him away, occasionally glancing at her as they searched for his sister. He chuckled lightly at her words and shook his head. "I would have been fine, I assure you," He said confidently. Matthew was aware of Slytherin's violent tendencies and would not have approached them if he believed they would harm him, or - more importantly - Saga. "I am yet to meet a mentally or physically strong Slytherin," Matthew said honestly to Saga. He wasn't trying to outright insult the house, he was just stating what he had come to find as fact.

Looking in the direction Saga pointed, a huge grin broke out on Matthew's face. Not only had they found his sister but she was also happy again! He strode towards the two as quickly as possible, completely unfazed by the hug Eleanor gave the girl.
'I'll never know what the appeal is of constantly embracing strangers.. as Eleanor does.' He thought with a smile. Matthew opened his arms lovingly once he reached the two. "Thanks to Saga I finally found you! What's wrong?" He asked them both, he hadn't understood why the two of them got upset in the first place.

At the mention of the Slytherin boy, Matthew turned towards the orange and green blob that was running towards them.
"Found him.." He muttered. Matthew wasn't too fond of the boy honestly. He pranced over, as if he was king, and.. kissed! He kissed that Gryffindor girl! Frowning, Matthew went to question the boy's intent when.. oh no... he didn't! "Elle!" He cried, glaring at Quillan. Oh, Matthew was angry. Usually he wasn't, but this time... With his eyes set on his target, Matthew burst out in chase. Unfortunately for Quillan, Matthew was quite a fast runner for his age.

Ezra glared at the boy, already sick of his company. "Watch it mate," He snapped at his torment. He knew that a kind Slytherin was too good to be true. When he argued about the pen situation, Ezra stood tall once more, towering about Quill. "You best keep your hands off of what isn't yours. That's common sense, mate," He said menacingly. Ezra had had a hard day, and this was the last thing he needed. Actually, beating up a Slytherin might cheer him up.

Watching the boy leave and return, Ezra cocked an eyebrow. Next thing he knew he had a book over his head. Growling, Ezra shook his head and ran after him. Oh, he was going to get it now. His harsh words only made Ezra run faster.
'Argh.. I might not catch up to him, the lousy bugger got a head start!' But the Slytherin slowed to stop and kiss the girls - which almost made Ezra's eyes flash red with anger - before continuing. This gave Ezra the time he needed to catch up. Leaping on the boy, he tackled him to the ground.

"You're right, we aren't in the same boat. I am much, much better than you," He snarled, before punching the boy as hard as he could in the nose.

Eleanor grinned happily when Matt arrived. "Mattie!" Giving him a tight hug. "Well, nothing's wrong now thanks to my new friend!" She explained, smiling to Eswen. Eleanor waved happily to the other girl - Saga, she thought - when she saw her next to Matt. "I'm sorry I worried you.." She mumbled to Matt with big, puppy-dog eyes that she knew her brother couldn't resist.

Eleanor watched in awe as the boy sped down the hall towards them. She laughed and waved, happy to see her fun friend again.
"Hey! Want to play that-" She stopped when she saw the boy kiss Eswen. Frowning, Eleanor wondered if they were dating. 'No way! Her reaction when I mentioned me and Ezra...' A wet kiss to the cheek answered that question and she moved away from the Slytherin in disgust. "Eeugh!! Yuck!" She cried in disgust.

Watching Matthew and Ezra chase the boy, Eleanor shook her head wildly.
"No! No fighting!" She yelled, running after them, cringing when she saw the blow Ezra delivered. She latched onto his back, trying to pry him off the Slytherin. "Stop! Stop it, that's enough!" She shouted desperately, "Leave him alone! You just look like a big brute!" She protested, finally ripping the Gryffindor off the Slytherin.

Oh snap, he's catching up! Quillan increased his speed but the seconds he had spent toying with the girls was the death of him. He heard the footsteps growing louder behind him and before he knew it, Quillan was on the ground with his nose in close to unbearable pain. And he suddenly couldn't breath out of his nose. Instead of being angry, he was merely shocked, trying to gasp for breath. To be honest, he was getting rather scared. With one hand over his mouth, Quillan pushed himself off the ground and clumsily walked past the other kids, disturbed by his own condition, towards the infirmary. He was doing his best to stay calm but he could feel the blood seeping from his nose into his mouth--everything tasted heavily of iron. Between that and his nose, he struggled to breath properly. Every time he went to take a breath through his mouth, he began to choke up blood. Bloody hell!

This was scary. Much scarier than Quillan anticipated, but he didn't cry. Instead, he walked past the other kids and the raging Gryffindor. Seeing that the other boy wasn't anywhere near calm, he pulled out his wand and pointed at both of the boys. "Stay back." He ordered through coughs and wheezes. Quillan felt like a caged animal... Keeping his wand ready, he slipped into the next hallway and down to the infirmary, trying his best to take deep breaths of air.

"Ezra!" Eswen screamed when she saw that he was barreling towards the already-injured Slytherin boy. She didn't have a chance to stop him though, he was too fast. By the time she finished yelling his name, he had already punched the Slytherin. The boy's nose made a strange crunching noise and he fell to the ground. Oh--oh... The crack didn't sound good at all. Eswen had noticed earlier that Quillan's nose had already been injured, but Ezra's punch had managed to destroy anything salvageable form the situation. She didn't care anymore that the Slytherin had kissed her--watching him wheeze and gargle up blood put the situation into perspective. No matter how much she disliked this boy, he was seriously hurt. And Ezra didn't seem to be stopping there. "EZRA!" Eswen protested again, running over to him. When she got there, Eleanor had managed to pull him off the Slytherin. Softly, Eswen placed the palm of her hand on Ezra's chest to hold him back.

"You need to breath slowly, alright?" She tried to tell the Slytherin boy, who was looking at her in shock. "It looks like your septum might've deviated--you shouldn't get up!" Eswen protested, but it didn't seem like the boy could hear her. Still in his dazed state of mind, the Slytherin got up and pulled out his wand. However, he didn't cast a spell at them. It was a warning, just something to protect himself with. Eswen fell deadly silent, watching the boy leave till his figure disappeared behind the wall. Once it was gone, she turned around to Ezra, absolutely furious.

"I don't care what the reason is--you should nev--" Eswen's voice caught in her throat. Who was she to lecture Ezra on what he could and couldn't do? No matter how much she disagreed with what he had done, it was his own decision and Eswen didn't have the authority to tell him otherwise. She wasn't his mother, for Merlin's sake! "I-... I'm going to see if he's alright..." Eswen mumbled, removing her hand from Ezra's chest before beginning to jog after the Slytherin boy.

Matthew stopped running as Ezra caught the boy. He watched as the much 'larger' boy punched the other. The sound of a 'crack' instantly made Matthew ignore his own anger for the sake of the Slytherin. Ignoring Ezra and Eleanor, the Ravenclaw tried to approach the boy, who had defensively turned his wand on the group. Stiffening, Matthew just watched as the boy fled, shaking his head with a sigh. The situation had gotten out of hand too quickly. 'I can easily fix the boy's nose.. if only he hadn't ran often. I suppose it's safe to assume he's headed towards the infirmary.'

Matthew smiled at Eswen, placing a hand on her shoulder. "I can handle it," He told her, noticing the tension between the two Gryffindors, "You have... other problems to worry about." Bowing good-bye, Matthew ran after the injured Slytherin. He caught up to him in time, grabbing his shoulder gently to get his attention. "Don't be alarmed.. I'm here to help. Spells are my specialty, especially healing ones," He explained, pulling out his own wand. 'How does this one go again..? Ah yes!' "Episkey," He said sternly. It was the spell that often healed minor injuries - like a broken nose. Matthew had used it many times. "And to clear your airway.. Anapneo!" Less practiced with that spell, Matthew had recalled that it clears blocked airways. "Are you okay?"

Saga didn't have the chance to stop Ezra, in fact, she wasn't sure if she would've stopped him. Instead, she stared at the scene in disdain. Why was there so much drama here anyway? It seemed ridiculous. They were only eleven, what warranted others to act like such? She watched the rest of the scene unfold before coming closer to the group once again. By now, the Slytherin boy had escaped. Eswen tried to go after him, but Matt stopped her and went himself. Saga was half tempted to follow him but decided against it. Instead, she pried Eleanor away from Ezra and pulled her down the hall. "I think your brother wanted those two to be alone..." She explained, releasing Eleanor's hand once they were fully down the hallway. "Well, that was interesting to say the least! I wonder why Ezra was so angry!" It seemed like the other Gryffindor had been chasing the Slytherin long before he planted those sloppy kisses on Eswen and Eleanor's cheeks. Thank god I was away from that! That boy probably had cooties.

She was glad to see that Eleanor had stopped crying--though Saga still couldn't quite understand as to why Eleanor was so upset with what Ezra said. He had been just throwing a tantrum, there was no need to take what he said to heart. "Anyway, your brother's pretty amazing." Saga began, grinning a little from the memory. "Just earlier he stopped two fifth-year Gryffindors from beating up that Slytherin--obviously, in the long run it didn't quite work seeing as he still got the snot beat out of him--but y'know, it's the thought that counts."

"OH!" Saga jumped, "I'm sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Saga Priimuua... And you're Eleanor something-somethin', right?" She wasn't even going to try to attempt pronouncing their last name--she heard Matt say it and when he did, it went in one ear and out the other completely.

Eleanor watched Matt follow the Slytherin and smiled. She knew that her brother was amazing at healing spells. "He'll be fine!" She said happily, not really caring if anyone heard her or not. Because Eleanor was such a kltuz, the first spells Matthew learned were healing spells since she was often giving herself minor injuries. Quidditch practice was especially a problem for her! Looking at Ezra, he still seemed a little angry. Eleanor was going to try to cheer him up when she began to get dragged away.

Looking around in surprise, Eleanor saw that Saga was the one pulling down the hall. Smiling she nodded in understanding.
"Good idea! I hate it when friends fight," She agreed, straightening herself so she was walking alongside Saga. She smiled happily to her, not at all surprised by her story of Matt. "Matt's great!" She exclaimed, "He always saves me from trouble too. He's so quiet though! I'm surprised he was so.. chatty to you. You're pretty much a stranger after all."

Listening to her introduce herself, she smiled, glad to know the girl's name. When she couldn't say Eleanor's name she laughed and nodded. "Haha, that's right! I just say Eleanor K. I can't even spell my own last name half the time! Silly Germans.." She explained happily. "You know Saga, you seem familiar," She commented, a skip in her walk now, "Do you play Quidditch? Or maybe you're a friend of a friend..." Eleanor was friends with just about everyone, including some Slytherins, so she would never figure out how she knew Saga that way.

Quillan had almost reached the infirmary when he heard a familiar voice behind him. He almost began running, however, he knew that he wouldn't get far with blood clogging his airways. By now, some of the panic had subsided. It's just a bloody nose, I'm possessed if I think it's going to kill me, Quillan reassured himself, making light of the situation. Thus, he swivvled around when he heard the Ravenclaw's voice, just in time for the boy to set his hand on his shoulder. Quillan looked at him expectantly, listening to what he had to say quietly. A part of him was infinitely amused by Matt. What was he, a knight in shining armor? Quite entertained, he just nodded and waited for Matt to do his magic.

"YOUCH!" Quillan yelped, grabbing onto his nose after Episkey had corrected it. From what he could remember, there was a loud snap as the bone went back in place and then a load of pain which radiated to the rest of his face until dissolving completely. "You're magical, Ravenclaw!" Quillan exclaimed after Matt had fixed his airways. "Thank 'ya, bud! And I had thought of you as a complete teachers pet, to be honest. You're not that bad--no hard feelings for what I did to your sister, right? It was just to piss Ezra off some--the other day he did my nose some damage... which he kindly seemed to have repeated."

"By the way, I'm surprised he's not after me. I'm assuming you had something to do with that also?" Quillan inquired, shifting all of his weight to his heels as he rocked back and forth where he stood.

Saga grinned at what Eleanor said. She seemed to have so much confidence in her brother--it made her envious! Saga couldn't help but wonder what it'd be like if she had a sibling. At least I wouldn't have to take the focused rage of Grandma Huldah then! Saga grinned at the thought. For an old gal, Huldah still kicking like a twenty-year-old. However... She wasn't sure if she'd want to have another sibling, just because her family seemed like such a mess at the moment. Though... As selfish as it was, having a sibling would've made her mother's death much less tormenting, and her father's arrest, for that matter.

Pushing those depressing thoughts out of her head, Saga turned her attention back to Eleanor, who was still raving about her brother. "I think it was because he was on a mission, y'know? Probably didn't have much time to waste on being quiet to me!" Saga reassured Eleanor, hoping that she wouldn't think too much into the situation, which Eleanor seemed to be the kind of person to do so.

"Oh? No, I don't play Quidditch, actually." Saga replied, slightly concerned that Eleanor found her familiar. She couldn't help be paranoid that she recognized her last name--or even had seen her in the papers with Grandma Huldah! That would've been bad. However, she tried to keep the panic from her face and just shook her head. "Since we're both first years, we probably just saw each other in one of our classes, don't you think?" Saga explained, hoping that the reason she was familiar to Eleanor was something as simple as that.

Then, Saga decided to distract Eleanor from their current subject. "By the way, could you show me how to slide down the hallway? Me and Matt saw you and that boy doing it earlier--it looked like fun!"

Ezra was glad that the boy was scared. He deserved it. It didn't bother Ezra how much pain the boy was in, or how much trouble the Gryffindor would be in when the nurses saw the damage that was done to the Slytherin. 'He can handle it.. I know there wasn't enough power in that blow to give anything more serious than a broken nose.' He thought, being practiced in melee combat. Maybe the little b*****d would stop being such a jerk? It was a long shot, but Ezra though it was possible.

No, the only thing that bothered Ezra was...
"Eswen," He whispered as the girl scolded him. A lump formed in his throat as he began to actually feel guilty for hitting the Slytherin. Ezra wasn't worried about the dramatic show put on by the Slytherin that walked off, he was just relieved that someone else other than Eswen chased him. The last thing Ezra needed was for Quillan to pollute her mind with mean things about him. Ezra approached Eswen cautiously, staring straight into her eyes - the Gryffindor wasn't one to avoid eye contact.

"Eswen, I'm... I'm really sorry," He told her sincerely, holding his bloodied hand behind his back, "For everything. I've been a jerk and I know it but you've got to believe me when I say I had good intentions. I haven't done anything to try to upset you." He held her gaze for a moment, before sighing and looking away. "But I can tell you hate me anyway, so I'll just.. leave you alone. I just wanted to get those things out," He muttered, turning to walk away.
