BLAME CHI FOR THIS SURVEY. (Anything like this means that it's Trira talking, kay?)
1. What is your full name? A: U-uhm, well, the name I've been given is Kallos Kalamos...if that's what you mean? (Ghost = Does not remember real name. l'D;; )
2. Where and when were you born? A: U-um, I don't know...?
3. Who are/were your parents? (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.) A: I-I don't know this one either...( The closest thing Kallos has to a parent is the kind Warlock.)
4. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like? A: C-Can we stop with the questions about things I don't know about myself? orz
5. Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people. A: At this point in time, I suppose I'm staying with my would-be Caretaker of sorts at his old house. He's a Warlock, and the best Reaper I've ever met in my life.
6. What is your occupation? A: I-I suppose that would be an aspiring Student? Unless you mean helping out my Caretaker in his study by copying and writing books for him...?
7. Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks. A: I-I'm not too tall, although I'm rather slight...My h-hair is usually black, a-although that changes if I'm u-using another color of ink .Similar c-concept with my eyes, as they're dark-blue or dark-grey normally, b-but change depend on the ink in m-my system. My s-skin is similar in color to parchment, and I tend to wear more c-classy clothing. M-my fingernails have p-pen edges on them, like the e-end of a calligraphy pen.
8. To which social class do you belong? A: Working-class, of course. I fulfill my purpose as a tool for recording information and whatever needs to be written down. *Matter of fact about all of this.*
9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses? A: I lack a body...does that count? O-oh, and I kind of g-go into a coma if I'm exposed to too m-much water...
10. Are you right- or left-handed? A: Both, I can write well with either. I-it's much more efficient that way, you know.
11. What does your voice sound like? A: I'm not sure...how does any ghost's voice sound?
12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently? A: U-uhm, I tend to stutter f-from fear...does that c-count? And I s-suppose I-I say 'suppose' a lot... And g-groveling...if the s-situation really calls for it. orz orz
13. What do you have in your pockets? A: I-Ink vials, some spare paper sections... The normal things for one such as I to carry...?
14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics? A: I-I s-stutter a bit. D-depends on who I'm talking to... A-and I suppose my ability to write from my fingers would go here also?
15. How would you describe your childhood in general? A: T-that's a good question...and I have no answer for you. orz
16. What is your earliest memory? A: Waking up in the storage room of some place I'd never seen before, knowing something vitally important of mine was gone, and then finding it outside the room in a study with an old Reaper and nearly giving both of us a heart attack. *Matter of fact.* W-What, were you expecting something from the childhood I don't remember?
17. How much schooling have you had? A: This is a good question. As far as I've seen, I have the capacity for learning which suggests monitored and planned education, but I'm not entirely sure.
18. Did you enjoy school? A: I will assume that since I love reading and learning from the Warlock's books, I would immensely love schools. *Doesn't realize going to school ties to bullying*
19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities? A: I don't r-really know...I naturally could write out of my fingers, and I don't have many talents other than that. My cooking s-skill is perhaps since I cannot forget recipes?
20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them. A: If I did, I-I couldn't tell you.
21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family? A: I don't even know if I h-had any family members, besides parents of course...but I couldn't tell you about them either.
22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? A: Again, I have no recollection of my p-previous l-life up before I d-died, so I could not tell you.
23. As a child, what were your favourite activities? A: H-haven't I made it obvious I don't remember my childhood...? Well, f-from what I like doing now, I'd say I liked writing.
24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display? A: C-Can we just stop with the questions about myself as a child...?
25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like? A: I-I don't remember, b-but from what I've seen involving my interactions with others, I most likely d-did not have many friends...
26. When and with whom was your first kiss? A: I-I haven't ever kissed anyone! *Shocked that you would even ask. Slight blush.*
27. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity? A: OF COURSE. O A O *In complete shock that someone would even ASK HIM THIS INNAPPROPRIATE OF A QUESTION, SERIOUSLY.*
28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today. A: I-I'm a ghost...but I don't remember how or what happened, so I suppose you get no story from me...
29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far? A: Waking up after I died. *Dead serious.*
30. Who has had the most influence on you? A: I-I believe that would be my Caretaker, the kind Warlock.

38. What is your best memory? A: S-sitting and being allowed to soak up as much knowledge as I p-pleased in the study?

43. What are your political views? A: I-I don't particularly know...

45. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable? A: I-I'm on the lower end of the s-strength spectrum so I wouldn't be able to, considering I am a ghost, and not a strong ghost at that. P-plus, why would I ever want to cause someone to be forced into a ghostly life like mine?
46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do? A: W-well, I'm just going to say...whatever happened to me to make me die in the first place?

60. How close are you to your family? A: I d-don't even remember them. H-haven't I clarified that already?
61. Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not? A: N-NO, of course I haven't! *Appalled at how personal these questions are.*

63. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why? A: I-I don't know, I don't know enough people to make t-that kind of deduction.
64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you? A: I-I'm already dead, you know... and I-I don't know if anyone would, actually...maybe the Warlock. (Oh Kallos, if only you knew how right you were about this subject. XD; )
65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why? A: The Reaper who used my pen as a bribe and didn't even tell the Warlock that it was connected to me. >'l
66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict? A: I-I-I avoid conflict...a lot.
67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations? A: I-I'd rather follow and take instructions. I am not of a high enough class to be a l-leader, after all.
68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not? A: N-not really, since t-that means there's more people to frighten me...

75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)? A: Classical music, a-and books.
76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs? If so, why? Do you want to quit? A: Of course I d-don't! Those would h-hinder my ability as a record-keeper.
77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night? A: Copying down manuscripts and tomes, and s-storing the information in my memory.
78. What makes you laugh? A: T-That's an excellent question...I-I don't really know..?
79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you? A: Anything inappropriate. >:'l (Just look through this and find what he mentions as appalling or shocking. XD; )
80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself? A: I-I would write, that way I could record what was going on, so if I ever lost my memory again, I'd be able to read back over and see what I'd f-forgotten.

84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you. How do you feel when this routine is disrupted? A: Copying down m-manuscripts, refilling on i-ink, eating a book, re-writing said book, and generally just f-following that pattern...if it was interrupted, I-I don't really know if I'd mind too much, a-as long as there was some reason to the interuption.
85. What is your greatest strength as a person? A: My inability to forget anything I've eaten, p-perhaps?
86. What is your greatest weakness? A: Easily w-water. Too much contact with it, as with a lot of other liquids actually, and I drain of ink, r-resulting in my form g-going into a sort of coma...
87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? A: P-perhaps make m-myself less susceptable to w-watery demise.
88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted? A: I-I suppose I'm i-introverted...
89. Are you generally organized or messy? A: O-organized, of course. (Seriously, his brain is like a filing cabnet full of everything he's ever learned or eaten. XD )
90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at. Good: - S-school-work (I'd think.) -Writing and reading. -Following directions.

A: I-I don't do anything heroic...I don't have the skills to do such things, a-actually...
93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime? A: Gather the most information possible and become the best tool for recording information as I can be. *Matter of fact.*
94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? A: H-Having graduated the Academy (I-if I get in, of course...) and b-become a record-keeper of some k-kind?
95. If you could choose, how would you want to die? A: I-I'm going to just say, NOT how I actually died...from the minor details the Warlock could get out of the Reaper who used me as a bribe, I b-believe it had something to do with a r-river. *Shudders.*
96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left. A: W-Well, I'm already dead... I suppose I-I would tell my l-loved ones whatever they needed to know and that I l-loved them, and do whatever I could to best fulfill by duty before p-passing on.
97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death? A: P-probably as being the b-best tool as I could be to r-record the information the world needed to r-remember.
98. What three words best describe your personality? A: I-intimidated, dedicated, and q-quiet...
99. What three words would others probably use to describe you? A: Smart, e-easily bullied, and u-useful...?
100. If you could, what advice would you, the creator of this OC, give to your character? (You might even want to speak as if he or she were sitting right here in front of you, and use proper tone so he or she might heed your advice...) A: Kallos, don't let yourself be bullied too much, you have a lot of potential, and I know you could be the best record-keeper in Halloween if you put your mind to it! *Cheers on.*

Ice Queen You've been Prompt'd! The Prompt Somehow Kallos found himself dragged into the bodice ripping club and force fed several books of questionable nature all at once! Vampire romances, master slave forbidden love, throbbing bodices and--and other things--it's ALL there in his head, now! Write a prompt (and pm me the reply, if you want!) about how the poor boy deals with the horror! The hoorrrroorrrr. (Sorry this took so long. ^^;; But here it is~ ^^;;;; ))There were times in Kallos' unlife when he really, really wished that he wasn't cursed. The extremely unfortunate inccident with the romance-novel-crazed fangirls of the Bodice Ripping Club was one of those times.
Kallos had been re-writing a book on the history of the printing press and it's influence on Halloween (and rather enjoying getting learn about such newfangled yet oddly effective methods of transcribing information) when the first signs of trouble had begun to stir. At first, it had just been some glances in his direction form a couple of scantily dressed ghouls, at which Kallos had just shrunk back a bit in his seat and tried to continue working without being noticed any further. He really didn't want to have to interact with them, for several reasons, those reasons being A) Any attention in his direction usually resulted in unfortunate circumstances or potential bullying on Kallos' end, B) Kallos really didn't like their innapropriate dress (and considering that pretty much anything showing stomach, all of an arm, most of a leg, or anything generally not modest is what Kallos considers innapropriate...The majority of the ghouls from the Academy fit under this title.), C) He really just wanted to finish reading/eating up the fascinating method of which letter-blocks are shifted to create the template for book-printing and that definitely wouldn't happen if they attempted to talk to him.
It wasn't really too much of a problem for Kallos, as the ghouls hadn't done anything yet, and he could easily just phase out and run through something (one of the few benefits that comes with his unlifeness Kallos actually enjoyed) if they tried anything. And then it occured to Kallos that he was in a corner, with both walls blocked off by bookshelves. If he phased through them, undoubtably he'd leave little traces of ink on all of those precious books! The full feeling of being prey kicked in, and Kallos swallowed and tried to return his attention to working. Maybe if he ingored them, they'd go away.
In the few moments after Kallos' realization, not much happened, although he could still sense them watching him from a distance like a pair of wolves watches a helpless rabbit. It wasn't until Kallos ate (well, more like folded up and swallowed) the notes he'd just written on the process of printing presses that one of the girls got up.
Sashaying her way over, the ghoul placed her palms on the far end of the table Kallos was working at and leaned over. Her facial expression was a mixture between mild confusion and that of a predator. To Kallos, it was kind of like getting forced to look in the face of a mildly baffled lioness who was intent on eating her target alive, but not quite sure if she wants to rip off an arm first or go straight for the head.
"C-can I help you...?" Kallos tentatively asked, trying not to look as panicked as he was in his head. He quickly scooped up all of his papers, trying to avoid looking at the ghoul.
"Did you really just eat that paper?" The ghoul's response/question was definitely not what Kallos was expecting.
"W-well, y-yes, a-actually..." Rather startled, Kallos looked up for a moment after he'd answered, brief confusion on his face until he saw hers. He knew the face she was making. And that face usually led to the Haunt getting forced into some situation he really didn't want to be in. Well, now was a time to run. "I-if you could j-just excuse me..." Quickly, Kallos picked up the book and slipped it back into it's rightful place on the shelf. He turned and circled around the table, making sure to keep as much distance between himself and the ghoul as physically possible, and started to inch his way toward the closest exit.
It probably would have helped his escape if he'd remembered that there had been a second ghoul. As it was, he was in too much of a panic to completely process that farther than he already had, and hadn't remembered the second one until the first called out to her companion, "He's the one she told us about! The nerd that can't forget what he eats! Don't let him escape!"
It took about three seconds after Kallos had given them a look similar to that of a freightened deer and taken off running for the second ghoul to manage to tackle the poor ghost to the ground. Now caught like the prey he was, Kallos couldn't suppress a whimper as the first ghoul also came over. The two tormentors were cackling a bit too gleefully for the already frightened ghost, and it was a feat in itself that Kallos hadn't passed out or screamed yet.
Caught between the two, Kallos was dragged away to a place he would eventually consider to be a living nightmare. The Bodice Ripping Club.
A few hours after the ghost was supposed to have returned from the Library, Kallos' minipets were beginning to wonder about where their master had gone. Phantom and Slythe (a Phantom Image and a Basilisk, respectively) had exchanged several worried looks, while Inthria (a Brush-Tail Schink and the self-proclaimed manager of the room) had started pacing along the bookshelves. Finally, to their relief (and then confusion), Kallos appeared through the door (the first sign something was wrong, since Kallos rarely walked through his own front door) and crashed onto his bed. After a moment, the creatures realized that the ghost was crying a bit, and Inthria leapt down onto his bed and pushed her head into his side comfortingly. It actually wasn't that unusual, but the creatures sensed that this was more than the usual bullying their ghost experienced on a daily basis.
Kallos had the pillow pressed against his help, trying to rub out the many horrible things he'd been forced to eat in the Bodice Ripping Club. He probably would have screamed into the pillow (and might have even attempted to claw his own eyes out to try and forget the horrible images now replaying unforgettably in his head from the many innappropriate books he'd been forced to eat) if Inthria hadn't nudged him with her head. Pulling back the pillow, inky teardrops on the fabric, Kallos looked down to the Brush-Tail Schink. After a moment, Phantom flew over and landed gently on his knee, while Slythe wound her way up the bedpost and gave her ghostly master a soft headbump. He looked around at his concerned minipets (even noticing the kushis and inklings peeking out from under the bed) and sniffled his nose a bit. They were all asking a question. Could they help him somehow?
Kallos, an idea forming in his mind, looked over at his desk. He stood, careful to pick up Phantom and Slythe (leaving the schink, as he didn't have enough arms to pick up all three and Inthria was staring the inklings and kushis to back under the bed) and quickly crossed over to it, brushing the last of his inky tears from his face. Phantom hopped onto the surface next to the collection of pens in a jar, and pulled one out. Slythe quickly wound her way up one of the bookcases, ready to grab an ink-vial if one was needed. Kallos pulled out the chair and sat, staring at the blank paper Phantom had taken up position on. This could work...After all, another entry in his brain for those books, and he'd be able to push them to the back of his 'filing cabnet' of a memory...
"Phantom..." Kallos said, working out how he'd do this in his mind. He himself couldn't give a false entry (as he always ended up writing out the one in his brain) but that didn't mean he couldn't say letters, right? The Phantom Image fae-like minipet nodded at him, staring at the calligraphic alphabet Kallos had written for the mini at the top of the desk some weeks ago. "Phantom, copy down this symbol." Kallos pointed at the letter 'B'. Kallos gave a determined sigh. Pointing out ever letter to spell "Bodice Ripping Club Book List: (DO NOT ACCESS THIS CATAGORY/FILE WILLINGLY.)" would take a long time. And then writing out the summary of each entry (aka each book) as something along the lines of "Innappropriate Book. Not to be read willingly." would take hours.
It was a good thing Kallos didn't need sleep, since this would take all night. However, Kallos was determined and knew it'd be worth it to get these horrible images out of his mind.
Several hours, eight vials of ink, and four switches between Phantom and Inthria taking turns writing down letters later, Kallos finally managed to move all of the horrible books from his main cursed-memory to their own 'sub-file' and could finally breath without the awful stuff in his brain. Phantom hugged his arm, and then flitted tirely over to the bed, where the mini promptly fell asleep. Inthria gave him what the ghost would consider a motherly look, then followed suit. Slythe pushed Kallos' notebook towards her master, then did the same.
Looking at the wall, Kallos almost squeaked as he realized it was almost time for a class. Grabbing the notebook Slythe had pushed closest and a spare ink vial, Kallos gave his sleeping minipets a quick genuine smile. "Thank you...." With that, Kallos ran out of the room. He'd have to reward them later, but for now he had a class to attend.
While the teachers could be scary sometimes, he knew that he'd gladly take classes over the meeting the Bodice Ripping Club in any case.

I got lost staring at all the hot art again lD
WHAT CAN I SAY, I LOVE HIM. Can't wait to see him force-fed some pink, glittery ink. Just saying. Because that bit about him is totally awesome.
And since I have nothing to crit about, just some stupid questions lD
Does Kallos harbor grudges against those who bully him? Or has he conceded to the fact that he'd be foreverbullied and given up on getting back at them?
I'm super excited to see him in action! Great job Tri 8D /flails

Zyphiris -- CRIT OF AWESOME HERE -- Zyph~ I love that that is the first thing in your post. XDDD
And awhh, thank you~ And this will happen at some point in time. And then Kallos will start 'orz-ing' with glittery pink hair. And glittery pink eyes. And then get kicked out of the Academy for being so desu. l'DD
And I think everyone does. Since apparently everyone is going to abuse that aspect of his ink-like-ectoplasm so much. XDDD
And yes, onto the question! :'D
Kallos would be the second of those two options. He literally talks himself out of escaping. Usually with some reasoning along the lines of if he ran away, they would catch him, if he hid, they would find them. And then that their rage or anger would be doubled, and just put him in a worse spot than he'd start in. So, he's conceded to the feeling of being bullied. (Since even in life he was bullied, and even though he doesn't know that, the emotional ties trigger his feeling that there no escape from bullying for him.)
Perhaps through character growth and the right people, he might finally be brought out of this mindset, though... *Hint at future plotting.*
And thank you~~ :'D

But yeah, nothing to crit. But this needs to happen. XD He'd have to prove to Kallos that he wasn't going to scare him, first. XD But yes, they must meet if they're ever both in existance. ^^ (Fun Fact, if Kallos had been alive at that point in time when Ink Demons had started coming into existance, he probably would have been one of the people being like, "Tattoos are bad! ; A ; " So, he probably would have a similar reaction even as a ghost. XDD; )
And now I remembered that I've been meaning to drop you a crit, so I'll do that later. ^^;;

So sorry for the late response on this, and thank you again for taking a look at Toby! To be honest, I can't see much of anything 'wrong' or needing much improvement in the lot of your quest; you're working with a tried and true mousy bookworm archetype and giving it one hell of a cool halloween spin with the pen haunt motif! I absolutely adore his aesthetic visually; the ink thing's carried through beautifully in the design images I've seen, and... well, hell, what else is there to say? All his traits mesh really well into a solid character foundation that should be super interesting to see in action.
He and Toby share some hilarious similarities and I'd love to see them interact one day. :> HI-HO, QUIET HELPER KIDS?
Seriously though, I hate to leave such a short stub, but I don't think nitpicking would do much on the whole. Maybe just a couple of questions, though-- or at least one.
Does Kallos ever wish he could forget things? Not just the erroroneous pages he eats, I mean, but having such an extreme form of photographic memory seems pretty detrimental on the psyche. Does he ever yearn to just be a "normal", blissfully ignorant student who DOESN'T know every horrible way every other student's species might kill him?
Thanks again for the swap!

Thanks again for the swap! Thank you so much for giving him a crit, and don't worry about the it being 'late'. ^^ (I've been on vacation since the 14th and got home a few days ago.)
Anyway, thank you so much for looking him over and giving him such a good review. ; u ; It makes me day seeing people like him. o u o And I've gotten the opportunity to roleplay him during the Open House and the Florescetival, which has been really awesome to be able to see him in action with others. ^^
And yes, so much plotting with Toby if I get Kallos. He could help her transcribe books and notes over into heat-sensing ink? :'D But yeah, whatever it was, their interactions would be very fun. :> HI-HO, QUIET HELPER KIDS!
And now, for the answer to your question: -- Actually, yes. Considering that Kallos is a naturally timid little thing, he would like to not have to remember and know every thing little thing that someone can or might do to get him to comply. If his memory wasn't so extreme, Kallos probably wouldn't have been so timid and easily frightened, and he knows that. He knows that if he didn't have this curse on him that he wouldn't know exactly how this person might kill him. (And then the erroroneous information just make it even worse because it frustrates him knowing that what he knows it all wrong. (For example, when he met Riley in the Open House, she told him that pretty much the majority of the information he'd eaten on mindflayers was incorrect. He felt like smashing his head into a wall when he heard that.) Another problem can be that sometimes malicious students can feed him things that he doesn't want to read. (See his extremely fail run-in with the fictional Bodice-Ripping Club, a prompt response on Page Two) So yes, sometimes (especially when something's gone wrong, etc) Kallos wishes that he didn't have that curse and considers it to be exactly that. It's not just a memory problem, it's seriously a curse.
Thank you so much for the question~ It really helped me try to explain how he feels. ^^ Thanks so much!

Wow. I love how detailed this is. I would give Kallos a hug if I thought I could manage it without him running away screaming. Awesome character.

Wow, I love this concept! Very unique and well visualized. I like that he can know he has the wrong information, but he can't do anything about it on his own.
You said he knows all the horrible ways different species can kill him, and that's part of why he's so afraid. Alternately, this means he knows all their recorded weaknesses. Would he be able to use this to his advantage if given the right incentive, like protecting a friend? I could see this making him quite bad-a**, without having to become very powerful beyond his encyclopedic knowledge, if he were ever able to move past the little voice in his head telling him he's a weakling, so why bother?
If he ever met my quest boy, Luidaeg would either torment him mercilessly or go all mother hen on him. Or maybe a bit of each; "Only I get to torment him" kind of thing. XD Of course, being very water-centric as a Sea Withch, Luidaeg would probably never be able to convince Kallos he meant well. lol

Ahh, thank you!
But yes, down to the actual content of your questioning. He'd have to go out of his way to, say, find all of the recorded weaknesses of a certain type or even the basic correct information on a particular species (as Riley, Nio Love's Mind Flayer, proved to him during the Open House some time ago. (Kallos was freaking out, and she informed him that most of the information he had about her species had been published by her species (and was rather thus either incorrect on purpose or biased toward her race) to throw off people's knowledge of them.)), but he could retain it. He'd try to avoid confrontation if possible, but if say, a friend really needed an edge, it's not like he could lie to them about the information he'd recorded. He would try to weasel out of answering though, since he's so timid. He would have promise for getting stronger, but that would be, as you mentioned, only if he could overcome his fear and weakness. XD; (So, it would take a really, really long time for him to get to that level of confidence, really.)
Oddly enough, this is not the first time he's gotten that response. XD Cat, Hostel's student, would behave the same way, actually. If he were to become a student, he'd have like a full team of people protecting him and people tormenting him. XD; The water-aspect really wouldn't help, but would be possible to overcome his fear of it eventually. Eventually being the key word there. XD;
But yes, thank you for your comments! :'D
