Brutus did not like being ignored. Brutus wanted to play, and Brutus wanted mommy. But mommy was busy. Mommy didn't have time to tell anyone that her eyes weren't 'blue'. Crestfallen, the pup's ears flattened, and he whined, tail ceasing its wagging. Still, he followed after because he couldn't play with Tasso or Nox if they were gone. Every now and again, he would draw back and stop, distracted by a moth, or a stick that made an interesting noise. But then he would look up, and see Nox and the monster who had Tasso, and begin to trail after them again. His little puppy body was hunched down a bit, ears pulled back because nobody wanted to play, and the father wasn't talking. At least, not to him.

(if no one minds i'm going to wrap this up here?)
Layla was on her way back to the den with a few plump rabbits in her maw, she'd taken so long that the sun was just starting to begin it's rise into the morning sky. She hadn't meant to be out so long but she'd had confidence in the safety of the pups in their den.
She got near the den and froze, instead of the rabbit scent filling her nostrils, it was HIS scent that stopped her. "NO" she yelled, dropping the rabbits and sprinting to the den. The pups were gone ... "Brutus! Nox! Tasso!! WHERE ARE YOU??!!!" she yelled, frantically tracing what scent she possibly could.
She searched and searched until she could howl no longer. She'd called for so long and so hard that her throat closed up. Layla was devastated, her pups, her babies were gone... she had failed them. HE had taken them to goodness knows what end. She felt sick, her stomach clenched in knots as she lay in the den, curling into their scents. She didn't want to leave but she knew she would eventually have to, to search again, to trail Ralastor and one day see her pups again.
