Sparrow blushed. She felt like an idiot for doing the wrong assignment, and she had worked really hard on that one. She shuffled and said, "Oops, I guess I'm just distracted and have a lot on my mind and didn't read it clear enough..." she got quiet not wanting to make excuses, but she turned around back to the books to try and finish the correct assignment. She noticed that you could draw if you wanted and with that her spirits rose and she was excited to redo her work.

Catalina scrutinized the young girl before her. "Siempre hay tiempo para una oportunidad mas," she said simply. "There is alway time for another chance. You still have plenty of time until the class is over. Do not waste time feeling self-concious. Put your effort into fixing your mistakes." She nodded wisely, her azure eyes shining.

Sparrow grinned. She had actually understood the Spanish the first time she had spoken it, but Sparrow didn't dare say anything back in fear of making herself look like a fool again. She thought they teacher probably already had a bad impression of her and she just strode over to the books and picked some out before heading to her desk and getting out her sketch supplies.

Ghaleon Elmerast, Ravenclaw, 2nd Year

Ghaleon nodded and replied "Thank you Professor" before getting together his stuff to head to the library in search of the books. He waited a moment and looked at Nathan again. "Did you need to go to the library as well?" he asked his fellow second year, figuring they both probably needed the 'The Tales of Beedle the Bard' book. Besides he really needed to start making more friends.

The Impact the Greeks and Romans had on Wizarding and Non-Wizarding Governments

The formation of the Greek and Roman governments influenced may have impacted many muggle systems of government as well as the wizarding governments in most countries for different reasons. The Greeks managed to create a government that is used in some places, like America. They had the democratic from of government in Athens. The form of government allows the people to elect their leaders. The Minister of Magic and the President of the United States are both leaders elected by the people.

The Roman Republic were governed by a complex constitution, which centered on the principles of a separation of powers and checks and balances. In Athens, the kingship had been reduced to a hereditary, life-long chief magistracy by c. 1050 BC; by 753 BC this had become a decennial, elected archonship; and finally by 683 BC an annually elected archonship. Through each stage more power would have been transferred to the aristocracy as a whole, and away from a single individual. Inevitably, the domination of politics and concomitant aggregation of wealth by small groups of families was apt to cause social unrest in many poleis. In many cities a tyrant would at some point seize control and govern according to their own will; often a populist agenda would help sustain them in power. In a system racked with class conflict, government by a 'strongman' was often the best solution.

- 2nd year

User Image"I was planning on getting there" he answered. They were probably thinking about the same book. "The Tales of Beedle the Bard right ?" he just needed a nod of confirmation. It was going to be hard for him. Nathaniel knew a lot of things, but finding a story that'd be similar to muggles ? Out of the few tales he knew of; The Wizard and the Hopping Pot, The Fountain of Fair Fortune and of course The Tale of the Three Brothers, what would actually match things with morals of don't lie, be humble and save now and prepare for the future ?

Thought these links would be useful:

'You might belong in Gryffindor, Where dwell the brave at heart, Their daring, nerve, and chivalry Set Gryffindors apart;'

Ginelle Ginny Alaine DeLuccia

. Thinking . . Speaking . . Action .

Ginelle, after her trip to the hospital wing, decided that she needed to get to class. She had skipped enough class time, and really needed to get to the learning again. As she walked in, she noticed Nathaniel, and decided to take a seat behind him. She liked being near him, but she didn't like talking to him. She was just a strange twelve year old. But that was how crushes worked, right? They were never normal. She took out a quill and started to write about the Roman Republic and the Greeks empire with their city states. She had learned about this in the muggle world already, so it was a walk in the park for her. Hopefully the rest of it would be as easy too.
As she was writing, she decided to take a break. She started to twirl her quill in her fingers and relax for a moment. As she was doing so though, the quill slipped out of her fingers and flew at Nathaniel's head. She covered her mouth and tried not to laugh. "I am so sorry..." Gin couldn't help but laugh. It was just one of those accidents that made someones mood lighten up.

Catalina read carefully over Blaine's essay. 'Such large word for such a small child,' she thought bemusedly. "Gracias Senorita Aldaron. You may be excused until the next lesson," she drawled, waving the student away with a lily-white hand.

Looking up, Catalina noticed a new girl enter the room. "Buenos dias," she stated, implying that today better be good, or it was not worth having.

Ginny glanced up at the new professor, and was wondering if she spoke to her. She had never learned any other language, so she simply replied "Hello.. Uhh, I'm Ginelle DeLuccia... But you may call me Ginny. Uhm.. About the assignment... Do you want it turned in inclass, or would you prefer it sent to you privately?" Ginelle was actually fairly confident with her paragraphs, because she had learned about this last year before attending Hogwarts.

"Senorita Deluccia, I would prefer if you turned in your assignment to me here in class," Catalina responded, her puckered lips slowly forming each word.

"Alright, Professor." Ginelle handed the professor her assignment and sat at her desk. Hopefully it was what the professor wanted. It was all that she could remember without going to the library, and she felt that living with muggles for a good portion of her life, she needed to go through this class without the help of a text book. She knew that she had learned these things before, and she would be able to write about them here now.

The Ancient Government
Before our time, ancient people came together, forming their ways and beliefs, and becoming their own civilizations. Cultures erupted, and ideas were formulated as time went on. But, there had to be a way for the people to live in peace, without constant corruption. These two groups, The Romans and the Greeks, formulated ways for this: They created their own systems of government. To start, the Romans created a system of government called ‘the Roman Republic’. The Romans were for a singular ruler, but they didn’t want him to get out of hand. So, they decided to create three different branches of government, which is much like the United States Government today. They created the Executive branch, the judicial branch, and the Legislative Branch. Each branch had its own duties, and was to make sure not one single branch became too powerful. The Executive branch consisted of many people who all sat on the Consul. These people were all civil service officers or workers in the republic, so they worked to enforce the laws. The Legislative branch was the branch that supervised the consul and controlled the money that was spent in the government. They were called the senate. The Judicial was the branch was a group people who punished others for breaking the law. There were six supreme judges who decided what the punishment for a person’s crime. Each branch balanced out each other’s power in a system called checks and balances. The Romans greatly influenced the United State’s system of government, because the United States also has three branches of government very similar to the Roman Republic’s government.

The Greek government was a huge mess. The Greeks, due to their landscape, did not have one central government. Greece was divided into City-States, just very similar to the United States split up, and each city-state had its own government for a while. Although most of Greece had a monarch, or a king to tell them what to do, during the dark ages, very few city-states still had Monarchs, like Sparta. Athens and many other city-states moved on to the new government, which was an Oligarchy. An Oligarchy was a government controlled by a group of aristocrats, or rich men. These men just told the people what to do and how to do it. There was not much form to this kind of government, which is why it eventually fell apart. These two kinds of government could have very well influenced the British Empire with their Queen or King on the thrown and a ministry. It may have also influenced our Government with the Ministry of Magic and the Minister or Magic controlling our world. In the end, the Greeks and the Romans greatly influenced the Muggle world with their governments, because most current systems of government are a mix of many governments, with stolen ideas and copied plans. All Governments came from some form of Ancient Civilization, whether it be the Ancient Romans and Greeks or not.

Catalina skimmed Ginelle's work. 'Hmm,' she thought. 'Very cohesively written.' "Gracias," she said to the young Gryffindor. "You may be excused until the next lesson."

(Sparrow, just talk about wizard's thoughts about working with things, not wondering why they work.)
