What turned me on to HP? My own compulsive nature to buy a book that has been considered good by many. I was pretty late in reading the books actually, I started when the first 4 were already out....and I bought them all at the same time 3nodding
Well at least you guys are converted now ^_^ Yay for the HP side!

I wasnt into the slytherin aspect untill I started getting into Draco Malfoy and I just got drawn to the bad and sexy part of the slytherin house. and snapes pretty cool.

I had reciently moved back to the States when the books came out, so I didn't know much about them. For christmas that year someone gave me the first book and I loved it. heart I have always been an avid reader but this is the first series that I was drawn to from the first sentance to the last.

I did not hate Harry Potter at first. My grade six teacher read the first one to us in school and when I told my mother about how much I loved it she forbid me to ever have those books in her house. I absolutely adore them from the first time I read them and I have been reading them ever since.
So I guess you could say my teacher started me on the books.

On a side note: Severus Snape is my favorite character. Alan Rickman plays him very well in the movies.

I didn't know what the hell this "harry potter" was at first untill a friend got me to read.... I owe my life to her....I have now read each book 14 times....what a lamo....

what turned me to harry potter series... hmmm 1. its not a boring story. 2. it has character death in each book. 3. balanced and well made. 4 i just love it..!!! lol

lets see. my dad gave me the book and i was in 3rd grade. i couldnt pronounce one of the names so i was like this is dumb. then i finally read it and was hooked!!!

I was walking around in a bookstore in vancouver, before I had even heard of Harrypotter and came across the books. I bought one but I don't think I ever actually read it. Then I saw the movie and was hooked I guess.

i didnt really like fantasy stuff
so i never watched it...
i was lyk " i'd be bored watching it anyway so y try?" stare
and then one day my sister was watching the
2nd movie and i had no choice... crying
and i actually enjoyed it!!! so i borrowed
my cousin's dvd's and watched all four for like
10 times each or sumthin' blaugh
and i read all 6 books now... 3nodding
now i'm waiting for the 7th book and the 5th movie...
OMG the trailer is so cool!!! xd i actually encouraged my other cousin and my classmates to watch HP and they're all addicted to HP now... blaugh

I was also a Potter hater and so was my friend Hitsuzen. The changed came over us shortly after the first movie's release. Out on 73 there was a snowy owl that had detoured it's way to a small town outside of ours, all the children named it Hedwig. Hitsu and me being animal lovers decided to go see the owl, there was all kinds of kids yelling 'Hedwig' which was annoying us. So we decided to call the owl Jerdith ((David Bowie in Labyrinth)) just to spite the kids. Well the next day my boyfriend ((AdrianTwilight)) asked me if I would go see the Harry Potter movie with him. I agreed and ended up falling in love with Severus Snape heart . Though out the movie I kept saying to myself 'I know this actor, where have I seen him before?'. At the end of the movie I went to Kmart bought the toy, looked up Alan Rickman on the computer. Sure enough I did know him, he was my first crush when I was seven, when he was in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.
Since that day I have been a fan of his and always will be, I even got my boyfriend to let us get married on Alan's birthday ((Feb. 21, 2008; other than his birthday there is suppose to be a lunar eclipse and a full moon)) and for us to name our first son Allyn Sydney Dixon. heart

truthfully i have no idea wat turned me onto the series. i just remember picking up the first book and reading it in like a week(and back then that was fast for me). and i've been reading them ever since.

My grandmother gave me the book before it was really popular. I was in... fourth grade, maybe... Right after the second or third one came out, however, she forbade me from reading them... Right... That didn't work. I've read the first for something like at least 6 times each, 9 for the third. The 5th and 6th, however, are just 1 time each. So I was one of the first fans, as well... as soon as I got past the first chapters.
As for favorite characters... Draco Malfoy, Severus Snape, Tom Riddle, Harry Potter, and Neville Longbottom. What can I say? I'm an odd person. The Neville one tends to get people.

I had a friend who read them (before it was popular) he kept try to get me to read them but I didn't want to but one day he won. I liked them ever since and then over a year later a lot of other people were reading them to.
