Being flipped around was not something the fairy had expected, and as such she had began to flail even more, her panicked mind thinking she was about to be eaten instead of flamed. But once she was the right way up again she was again being held, this time by someone else.

's-safe?" she repeated, eyes full of tears as she looked at riley. She didn't recognize the voice in her head at first, thinking it was the reaper about to taunt her again, but she quickly remembered the mindflayers talent. Her fearfull eyes then began to close, as the calming ways Riley emitted began to take an effect and bring her back to reality. With a sniffle, she rubbed her eyes, hearing a question from another student she turned to look at....wasn't that the guy who wanted to put her into a bottle? Oh god...she didn't want to have a illusion about that...

"It...well..." she mumbled, not sure she wanted to tell everyone what she had seen. "I was on fire...alot of fire...I was being burned alive!" she cried out. "It was..." She then felt the hairs on her back sticking up, like someone was boring holes through them, and slowly she turned around to see who it was.

....seriously, she should of expected this kind of thing by now.

At once she shrieked again, turning to hide herself against riley again, her reassuring waves doing nothing to clam her now. "AHH! P-PLEASE, no, don't hurt me!" she cried pitifully, her body shaking like a leaf. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, don't hurt me! it hurts to much!"

She winced at the pinch, wondering if she should bop him on the head again before deciding against it; he had the upper hand here, clearly. Besides, she should conserve her energy... The lighthouse was just in front of them now - not an illusion. It was something solid, something that had taken them ages to reach... Shrouded in fog, she inclined her head, squinting at the top of the lighthouse; was there someone there...?

"Please... Share the contents of that?" She didn't even bother to smile (too much energy required, and the situation didn't call for it) as she pointed at the note; while she didn't like the way Mac phrased it, he was right - if they were just going to keep it to themselves, it's won't help anyone... If it was a clue, everyone ought to know.

'Heh, not just "their" group, isn't it? You know you and your little group has no place here-'

"Please," She repeated again as she cringed at the voice; Astra's hallucinations seemed as strong as before... When Petro and her went to rescue her. That was rather worrying... She had simply grew too tired to listen to what the whispers in her head had to say anymore. At that thought, her eyes rolled up to look at Mac, and then Charlie and Jericho, who were in front. Arachne, Sepheran and Petro... Were probably at the back, safe.

She was focusing on what's important and (hopefully) real.

As Riley comforted Astra, she nodded to the boil who had shown up. She had never met him, nor had she seen him for their pleasant stroll in the fog, so to be quite honest she had to wonder if he was real. Nevertheless..

Yes, she nodded to Draven, emitting her words into his mind. We're as real as it's going to get.

She eyed Mac warily, ignoring his snarky attitude and handing him the folded up note. I believe you are perfectly capable of reading it, and since you asked so nicely.. enjoy. The fog was getting to all of them, and she took no insult to his sharp words, but that did not mean she was going to roll over and smile when someone was rude.

Astra began explaining her actions, when suddenly she looked at Jericho and went wild. The little thing was shaking in Riley's arms, and Riley couldn't help but raise a brow as she stared at Jericho. Astra must have been having hallucinations.. but of Jericho? Why?

More importantly, how could she make the ghoul feel better about it?

Sorry about this. She whispered to Jericho in a private thought that only he could hear, as she took a few steps back and gave him as mean of a face as she could muster to her best friend. Each word that she said was punctuated by a weak smack to the chest.

What. Did. You. Do! Stop scaring the poor thing, Jericho!

Secretly, she was proud her friend had the ability to instill this much fear into another person. Outwardly, however, she was intent on letting Astra see Jericho admonished.

Aksaja was rather glad that Sharra was at least speaking again, though the nergal boil still looked as if something had terrified the wits out of him. Still, the lightning dragon couldn't exactly blame the other for not wanting to talk about it.

The dragon still circled above them, after all. Now, though . . . he could see their goal, just up ahead. And close by, the rest of their friends.

The eyes still glowed an eerie yellow, but Aksaja suddenly grinned and lifted a hand to wave. "We made it!" he called out, even as he started moving a bit faster approaching the Lighthouse with Sharra in tow. He wasn't about to let go of the other again.

The dragon was about to answer Lizzy and Mac, but Astra freaking out more grabbed his attention. Besides, Riley handed over the note. Now, he didn't know why the hell the faerie started to have a panic attack, but it was getting harder to reign in those urges.

The thought of the faerie on fire was a bit gratifying.

Furrowing his brow at Riley, he shrugged and thought back to her, <<You have no idea how tempting it is to start waving my flaming sword in her face. NO JACKING IDEA.>>

"Like the hell I know! I just give her a look and she starts freaking out. The last thing I've done to her was that threat I gave during the kobold egg handout," he said with a frown, "She probably saw some jacked up illusions or something."

Shaking his head to himself, he looked to the side to see Aksaja and Sharra join their ranks. There was also another boy he hadn't really seen around before.

"Yes. We're real. We won't be doing any seriously weird anytime soon.. So no need to worry."

<<Except maybe Astra.>>

Ah! There! There were people in the distance, easily definable people, at that, not ones that looked as though they might coalesce into the fog at any given moment, though the intensely disconcerting glow about their eyes still lingered, as both boils had noticed. "Is it Riley and the others?" He inquired of his companion's joyous outcry as they came up to the lighthouse.

"Is everyone all right?" A rather enthusiastic question from Sharra as he broke into a jog, not particularly wanting to deal with his hallucinations alone after the one of moments before. Perhaps they could ward away some of their twisted enemies together, banding in order to protect each other, as they had with Riley previously. Surely if it had worked once, they could do it again. Now if only the whispers of the fog would cease to nag in his ears.

The exchange between Riley and Jericho had not been missed, as Astra clearly heard the mindflayers voice in her head as she rebutted him on his actions towards her. It was...a interesting exchange, but it did seem to calm her down enough so she was only sobbing instead of pleading for her life. She wondered though how Riley could be so strong as to tell him to back off. All in all, it did make her feel better, if only a little

As she cotninued to sob, she recalled the mindflyers ability to talk to people with her mind. If she could do that..could she see what was in hers? Astra wanted to at least explain to her why she was so scared, but didn't want the dragon to overhear her. Still sobbing away, she tried to think her thoughts...outward. It was odd, but if riley was able to pick up astras thoughts she would see parts of her nightmare; the reaper slashing down everyone; The feeling of her soul being destroyed as her staffw as cut in half; a bloodied jericho glaring at her before he transformed. Being engulfed in flames by a mighty red dragon, and..jericho prancing through the flowery meadow singing his heart away.

[To everyone who are new to this PRP and are too lazy to backread, Lizzy is currently being piggybacked around by Mac! 8D]

"Hey Draven... Glad to see you well..." She managed a small smile at the boil; she had just noticed his presence, seeing how she had been distracted with sleeping and being piggybacked around by Mac and whatnot. Although she couldn't help frowning internally at the fact that she probably looked weak at the moment... Hopefully he would remember her as the tentacle harpooning ghoul on the boat rather than the miserable spider she was sure she looked like now.

Seeing how Mac's arms were both used to support her weight at the moment - and judging from how he had ignored her request to be put down earlier - she concluded that he wouldn't be able to 'read it himself'. Quickly, she reached out for the piece of paper and took it from Riley with a soft 'Thank you' before holding it up in front of Mac's face so that they could both read it.

"... This is worrying."

Riley's nod and affirmation they were real was at first moment, shocking. Her voice...in his head? For half a second, he thought that must be wrong, and they must be an illusion. Then he remembered. The voices in the fog had seemed to come from the fog, and they never responded directly to him. This had to be different, and therefore, as the demoness had said, 'real as it's going to get.'

The scene that unfolded between the dragon boil and the ghouls seemed only confirm this even more. He doubted (hoped) hallucinations wouldn't go to such lengths.

Draven let out a sigh of relief at the dragon's last words.

"Thanks, glad to have found you all."

He perked up a bit at his name, "Good to see you made it too, Lizzy." She looked tired, but he was glad to see that some of his boat mates had survived. He wondered just how long he'd been in the mist, and what they all had been through getting here.

Finally. He was out of the mist and around others. That was more comforting than he'd realized it would be. He was aware that the group was still growing. Perhaps if they stayed together, they could make it through this?

"If any of you require medical assistance for actual, non-hallucinatory wounds, I will do my best to provide treatment," Malodore said, speaking to the entire group. "Please, just let me know."

That said, it nodded up in the direction of the hooded figure perched above them. "I presume everyone sees our observer up there as well. It does not appear to be illusory. Be on your guard."

Be nice. Riley warned Jericho privately. We need everyone at their peak. That means calming her down, not riling her up. Control your urges. Her voice had a note of teasing, but she remained stern.

It was an illusion, Astra. Just as Jericho said. You have nothing to fear from him, believe me. Riley reached out and pinched his cheek. Her voice took on an odd tone - not unlike one you might use when talking to a cherished pet. He's a big pussycat.

She tried not to laugh. Privately, she apologized to her best friend before he could snap at her, and she backed away. Sharra's voice was a welcome distraction, and she gave him and Aksaja an affectionate glance. Hefting Astra up more comfortably in her arms, which made her look startingly motherly, she waved the two in. Not that I doubted you'd be safe, but it's good to see we're almost all here. And yes, no one seems to be hurt. However, She reached out and took Malodore's hand, squeezing it softly. We'd be in good hands, even if there were. Those hands may come in handy later, if the figure above decided to attack them. She was counting on it.

Astra's visions were trying to push their way into her mind, but it was difficult - if not impossible - for a non-illithid with little experience in mind-sharing to share anything but fully formed words. The pictures were all a blur, fading in and out as Astra tried showing her something she couldn't exactly see. And then -

Jericho. His powerful dragon maw burst through a wall of flame, and engulfed.. everything. This was the only clear vision she saw, but it made her shudder. She clung to Astra tightly. Believe me, Astra, Riley whispered, as her eyes flickered to look at Malodore with a touch of pain in them. We've all seen things that we wish we didn't. They weren't real.. just keep reminding yourself of that.

She was speaking to Astra, but obviously trying to convince herself along the way.

Arachne moved closer to Elizabeth and Mac, waiting quietly and patiently to be able to read said note. Her eyes flickered around the group as she did so, all the time wondering where the boil was, if he was still fighting or if he had gotten away and was heading towards the Lighthouse.

While Rileys words were comforting to the fairy, Astra still found it hard to believe that all that pain and suffering were nothing more then a illusion. As for her having nothing to fear...Jericho's glares were not reassuring. At all. She was almost awe struck as Riley compared him to a pussycat. How could she even make the comparison?...unless you had a cat that grew wings and started spewing fire. And was 100 times your size.

When it appeared Riley was not able to see what she was thinking, she stopped 'projecting' her thoughts outwards, slightly saddened that she could share her fears until she was held tighter by the mindflayer. Maybe something got through?

"o...okay.." she said softly, her tears beginning to dry up. And while she heard Malodore's offer of assistance to anyone with a injury, she very much doubted it could help her at this moment.
PostPosted: Thu Mar 24, 2011 3:02 am

Riley was glad to see her words were having some effect. She kept Astra in her arms, however, hefting her up again to rest on the mindflayer's hip. It was this movement that made her take notice of a stinging pain deep in her mass of tentacles. She'd been ignoring the pain this whole time, too focused on getting out of the fog and dealing with halllucinations to care. She'd assumed there had been some scratching or injury at some point, but it was easy to tune out pain when so much misery had your attention. Now, however, in the calming eye of the storm, where they began to regroup, she could finally give her injuries the respect they deserved.

She lifted one of her tentacles, which was used as nothing more than a vehicle to carry the tentacle that hurt the most to the surface. She brought it to the forefront, and let it sit over her shoulder. There was a deep, discolored welt that ran for 10 inches down it's length. It was still bleeding, though an odd green discoloration was present in certain areas, and it had effectively sliced the tentacle open to reveal it's inner workings. Muscle still pulsed helplessly from within.

Hmm. Riley murmured calmly. Astra, do you see that? Or am I hallucinating that my tentacle is injured?

Well...

if Riley wanted to get Astra's mind off her nightmares, showing her how the inside of one of her tentacles look was a pretty good ploy, even if it wasn't the intended idea...

Upon taking a look at the injured limb, Her eyes went wide as dinner plates, antenna standing on edge as she stares...and stares...and tried her very best not to lose her lunch. "n...no...your tentacle is injured..." And bleeding, and pulsing, and everything else with it.

"m....malodore..." she squeak out the plague doctors name. "h...help...." If there ever was a need for the doctor, now was the time. To the fairy, the injury looked very severe and in desperate need of medical attention.
