Ren took one look at that mildly disgusted face of Jove's and let out a laugh, shaking his head. "Oho, don't give me that look," he said teasingly. "Just wait until you find someone you like, and then I'll have to make that face at you. Besides," Ren stuck another cookie in his mouth. "I think you'd like Alessa. She bakes all the time, and really delicious things. She'd be sweet to you."
Touching Jove's chin made the boil visibly stiffen, his eyes going wide for a moment before he ducked his head away. The puppy's cheeks were bright red now, but Ren wasn't sure if it was from embarrassment or something else. He guessed it was the former, since he couldn't think of another reason, especially since he could tell that Jove was, in fact, pleased by the comments.
"Hey, and don't knock snuggles," Ren said in a mock offended tone, and reached out, dragging Jove towards him and looping his arms comfortably around the puppy's neck and shoulders. He held him loosely, not wanting to frighten him of make him uncomfortable. "You probably think you're too old for them, but in my opinion, nobody's too old for snuggles."

Jove's nose wrinkled again. He didn't have anything against Ren's ghoulfriend, but on the same note he didn't EVER plan to have a ghoulfriend himself. That stuff was just... ew. Now if Ren insisted he would like Alessa, she was probably okay, but the whole ghoulfriend part just baffled him.
The pup pretended to scowl as he was tugged into Ren's arms, but after quickly glancing around the room he was able to determine there was nobody around who would see. Except the minipets, and most of the minipets Jove had met wouldn't care one way or the other anyway. He made the grumpy face anyway as he flopped with his back against Ren's chest, relaxing into the loose hug. Of course he was too old for snuggles... Right now, he was only allowing it because Ren wanted to hug him. Yes.
He allowed himself to privately admit that the offer was touching. Maybe if he needed the comfort again he could bring himself to run in Ren's direction... As if wanting to express his current gratitude, he wiggled just enough so he could give the gryphon a little puppy-kiss on the underside of his jaw.

The wrinkled nose made Ren laugh again. "I promise," he said, making a crossing movement over his chest. "You'll like her. And she'll bring you cookies when you meet her," he added with a playful wink. That much, Ren was sure of. Alessa and LW would most likely fawn all over the puppy. That being said, even Gabrian would fawn - would be even more likely to fawn than the ghouls, for that matter.
He caught the scowl that Jove gave as he pulled him into a hug, but it didn't particularly deter him. Ren held the embrace, counting internally. One, two, three...aha~
Jove, after a few seconds, had sank back against him, and Ren felt a small ping of victory as he himself settled back into the pillows on his bed. About to open his mouth to say something, but Jove shifted and Ren felt a tiny, butterfly light kiss tucked to his jaw. He blinked, momentarily flummoxed by the gesture, and then a pleased flush crossed his cheeks as he rested his chin atop Jove's head.
"See," he said gently. "Snuggles aren't so bad after all."
