I freaked when I saw the mens toilet. Also, the one toilet that flushes as soon as you stand up...I showed it to my mom and she laughed.

Bchan So I go into Nookingtons today, and I see what I think is a urinal. I'm like "No way, it must be waterfountain and I'm just stupid." So I go up to it and the racoon spawn tell me what it is... and lo and behold... it's a urinal. Though they call it a "men's toilet" sweatdrop I'm giving it to my boyfriend, because as a female... I have no use for it sweatdrop What items have you seen that made you scratch your head and go "Huh? WHY!"
I agree on this one. Especially since I have yet to see a standard toilet. Maybe I'm just lucky. I mean, the game is mostly for fun, not realism, so I'd rather that they gave us something that was...well...fun to look at.

Lionbane And then theres the froggy chair, which makes a fart noise when you sit on it. X3
There's a couple other chairs that make the fart noise, though I don't remember which ones do that off the top of my head.

AlainaPoncho Haha. I can't really think of any other items that are really that weird, but... Hmm...I guess I've always thought the Gyroids were kinda weird, but cute at the same time (though I wouldn't turn it on if I had one in my house...rather put K.K. music).
I love the Gyroids!!
One day I hope to make a list of which have which sounds/colors.

For me the weird item is the Dharmas.
You click them once and their one eye goes out and they scream. Then you click them a second time and their eye lights up with a little double-thud sound.
WTH?
That and they're ugly little man faces with moustaches.
Can anyone explain these to me?

Personally I hate gyroids and always sell them. They annoy me! I've been getting loads resently! LOL!
As for the Urinal I've had that in my shop a couple of times. Never seen that statue though!

Can anyone explain these to me? That item is a bit of the game's Japanese culture peeking through. When you buy a Dharma-san figure from the store, it has no eyes painted on. They look like this:

When you bring it to your house, you paint a black dot into one of the eyes. These, like many items in Japanese culture, are a symbol of good luck. The remaining empty eye socket symbolizes that the house has not yet recieved all of the luck coming to it. If, for example, the family is suddenly blessed with wealth or a new family member, they may feel that the Dharma-san has fulfilled its purpose and paint in the remaining eye.
That is only one example of a Dharma-san's use. While searching, I also found this given as an example:
Japanese candidates of any kind of election usually purchase a big Daruma-san with blank empty eyes for their campaign, and paint a single eye. When the candidate won the election, he ritually fills the remaining eye black.
So that's what the Dharma item is. Oh, and in Animal Crossing, there are actually three different sizes available to buy.
Um... now I forgot what item I was going to talk about for this thread.
