School sucks bad. I don't know whose brilliant idea it was to shove a bunch of hormonal teenagers into a building and torture them, but damn they were evil. I knew it was going to bad. But I didn't realize how bad. My first morning started off with the teachers treating me like an idiot. Just because I had no public school record doesn't mean I don't know anything. From there it went bad to worse. After a few jibes I lost my patience and started making them look like idiots for assuming I knew nothing. At least the other people in the class laughed. So that's how it went for the first three periods. Then lunch.
I hadn't seen any of the other Dreams at all during the first part of the day and I figured I probably wouldn't for the rest of the day. Something about the stupid system looking for excuses to keep us separated just because we are all different similarly. So anyway, lunch. The only time of day that I saw the other Dreams in more than just passing. I didn't bother trying to mingle with them as they all seemed happy together in a cliquish sort of way. Gabe found me and sat with me. Trying to stuff food down my face. That Nergui chick made an effort to some say hi as well. Then the bell rang and I was off to my second half of the day.
It pretty much followed the same pattern as the first half. Minus me being stopped from leaving after first period. The only time it got slightly interesting was in a welding class mother had suggested I take. But that was at the end of the day. In the class right after lunch there were some punks eying me and I figure I'll end up dealing with crap from them later. I blew them off for today though. So yeah. I lived through my first day and am not looking forward to the second. Bet it''l throw those teachers for a loop when I come back tomorrow with the exorbitant amount of homework they assigned me finished.

The rest of my first week of school went pretty much the same as my first day. Except every day I seemed to piss off the punks a little more by blowing them off. The teachers had pretty much become accustomed to my smart a** ways and went about their normal teacherly business. They also stopped being surprised by how well I was doing in their classes. It didn't take long for the girls to start swooning over me either. But what else can you expect. I'm just that awesome.
It was halfway through my second week of school that I finally managed to piss of the goons enough to try to corner me. It was close to the end of the day. Just before my last class actually. I had snuck outside on the roof of the school for a quick smoke. I guess they followed me. They surrounded me and tried to corner me against the wall I had been leaning against. Typical pack behavior of course. First it started with the name calling. You know. Little petty insult like 'Freak'. Pissed them off when all I did was ignore them.
So they kept up the little insult fest for a bit. I left them to it while I finished my cig. It wasn't until one guy got brave enough to lay a hand on me that I got serious. I was just about finished when he decided to reach out and shove me with his insult. I caught his eye as I flicked out my cig and tossed it at him. He sneered at me and reached out to shove me again. I caught his wrist before he could get anywhere near me. Bending it backward I forced him to his knees with a warning about not ever touching me again. Of course that pissed off the rest of the little gang.
Before they could come at me the guy that I guessed was their little leader from the way he threw his weight around stopped them. He had them all back off before coming at me himself. I was expecting it so his first blow didn't land. However he got me in the chin with a hook from his other hand that I hadn't seen coming. Complimenting him on actually landing a blow I proceeded to pummel him. Like the good little puppies they were, the rest of his gang just stood back and watched. By the time we were done we were both bleeding and bruised but I was left standing.
I walked away without a second glance. I was late for my last class and the teacher raised an eyebrow at my appearance but didn't bother asking. I guess some of the adults here aren't too bad. I wasn't looking forward to going home though. No doubt my father would tell my mother. Then there would be hell to pay.

I swear. Everyday it's the same damn thing. Some wannabe thug or another will show up to kick my a** in the name of some buddy of theirs or another that I took out the previous day or two. Getting a little old. At least for the most part I can end it quickly enough that I don't miss any classes or raise any suspicions from my parents. So far all the people whose asses I've handed to them haven't squealed at least. I think I've beat down someone every day for the past week. When will they learn. For the most part I've managed to keep Gabe out of the scuffles.
I just hope my luck will hold out. Getting taken down or busted for fighting will really make my life hell at home. As for the school work itself, nothing has been too bad. I've been getting decent grades. Though I have been threatened by Berry. If my grades drop too low I'm getting grounded from the club. Which would suck since that's where I like to spend as much of my time as I'm able. Chicks dig the tail. Every so often dad lets me step into the booth still too.

Damn. I think I jinxed it. My luck finally did run out. However it wasn't in the style of getting my as handed to me. One of the thugs was just a little dumber than the others and started a fight in a more public area. You know. Like the Lunchroom. Fricken genius. I was minding my own business eating lunch with Gabe when this meathead decides to pull me out of my seat by my ear. I could have let that go but then the a** had the balls to swing at me while he was trying to pull my ear off. On reflex I blocked him and kicked his feet out from under him.
By that time of course we had gathered a ring as tends to happen when people want to see others kick the crap out of each other. Lunkhead was back on his feet and coming at me. At first I just played with him. Being smaller and quicker than he was all I had to do was step out of his way. I will say one thing about all the people being around. It was kinda nice to have cheerleaders. When I got tired of playing with him I settled to the task of taking him down. But just before I was able to finish it a bunch of teachers started to pull the crowd apart. Busted. And of course, I got suspended for fighting. Sigh.
Mother was not too thrilled to be informed that she had to come pick me up due to my suspension being effective immediately. I'm surprised I wasn't deaf by the time I got home. When we finally got home and I was able to get a word in edgewise, I was able to explain my side of the story. She stared at me with a flustered look before telling me that she would allow me to explain myself to dad myself. I wasn't expecting to get off so easy. Guess I sometimes forget just how understanding my parents can be.

The suspension was nice while it lasted. It was only a few days but they were nice, peaceful days. Even with all the freaking chores mom made me do. Of course that was just most of the morning. So much for my dream of sleeping in. Anyway, Since I only had the stuff to do in the mornings I spent most of my afternoons in the music room until Gabe and Ara got home. Of course, they were jealous that I got to stay home while they had to go to school. Well at least Gabe was. Ara seems to still be excited about the whole public school thing.
On the the last day of my suspension I decided I should make the most of it and, ignoring mom's yells about my chores, left the house. I wandered the streets for a bit just enjoying the fresh air of freedom. This of course earned me several disapproving looks by those overbearing adults that seem convinced that every kid wandering the streets during school hours is a delinquent. Never mind the fact that the reason I wasn't in school was because of a delinquent act. Irony.
After about an hour of aimless wandering I got bored and decided to drop by the arcade to waste a few dollars. Imagine my surprise when I discovered some of the flunkies of the goon I had taken down in the cafeteria. From watching school politics before the asses had decided to start fights with me,I had discerned that the dude had been pretty far up in their pecking order. So as soon as I saw them I knew I would be expecting trouble. Still, I figured I would make a go at ignoring them to try to preserve the peace of my last school-less day.
Of course they didn't take the hint and once one spotted me they all came over at once. I tensed as they circled around me. I watched them from the corners of my eyes to make sure I was ready when they started to come at me. I was completely caught off guard when one commented on how l33t my gaming skills were. Of course this startled me so much that I screwed up and landed myself a game over. My tail flicked in irritation as I glanced over at the guy, still not sure what exactly the hell was going on. Once he realized that he was the reason for my failure, he all but begged to pay for my next game.
And that was pretty much how the rest of my afternoon went. As freaking weird as it was. They tailed me around like a pack of puppies trying to make sure my every whim was met. I guess it's a little like playing king of the hill or something. I knocked their ringleader down and unintentionally took his place. Kinda freaks me out a bit. I hope I don't degenerate to their level. I so, so don't want the stupid to rub off.

The trend continued when they finally decided that I was worthy enough to go back to school. That is, the trend of random people following me around like I was important. By lunchtime I realized I didn't have a chance of just losing my posse or having it fade away as something else shiny caught their attention. So I did the best I could and let them feel like they were important to me. I started small with things like redirecting their attention from picking on the people they felt were lower than them to being a little less of pushovers to the preppie group. What the hell was the other guy they thought was their leader thinking? You don't get respect by picking on the weak. You gain it by going straight to the top. which happens to be a lesson I learned the hard way. But how the hell was I supposed to know the dumbest one of them was the leader?
Aside from my new role as head thug, school was alright. Homework wasn't to bad. It was homework, so tedious and time consuming, but not hard. Home, on the other claw, was getting cramped and uncomfortable. Apparently someone decided that it was a good idea for London to move in. Great. Less space and more waste of it. At least I don't have to see much of him. Now that I think about it, my new posse might prove a good excuse to get out of the house more. As it is, he doesn't go to our school, too good for it i guess, And when we get home he's usually busy helping Ara with her homework. I hope the parents come up with a better plan for living arrangements soon.

Well this just goes to show that if your want something you just need to ask for it. It wasn't more than a week after London moved in that the parents decided to look for someplace bigger to move. It didn't take them long because apparently d**k's family has quite a few properties. Filthy rich, and we were living in an apartment. A nice one though, now that I think about it. Anyway, moving was a pain in the a**. Not so much us recent occupants stuff. There wasn't room for anyone to unpack totally to begin with. No, but between d**k's equipment and all the stuff Berry had stashed there, it was a big pain. The new place rocks though. Multi-level. Everyone has their own room. Close enough to our same schools that we don't have to switch. I think it's even closer to Ara's school now. Maybe she can stop riding with that cousin of d**k's now. I don't like him.
I think London likes it. Not that I care. I just like how I don't have to listen to him practice his new past-time. A violin? Really? How cliche. The perfect gentleman with the perfect manners and perfect skills is learning to play the violin. I think there's even a room where he can play with his sticks now though. I'm surprised he didn't drop the instrument immediately at that chance. But apparently not. Ara is delighted. She instantly wanted to start decorating her room. I think the parents are going to let her. I think I can get used to this whole living in the lap of luxury thing.
