Oh... Well... Alright. He had to admit that he hadn't seen this one coming. Another rocket. What were the chances?
Recovering his aplomb Frost regarded Skiron steadily; he was accepting Xander's petting cheerfully. Usually the ice-type was standoffish with humans other than himself. He wondered why he was behaving differently with Xander? Mmh. In any case; "Very well," he nodded to the Glaceon, "good call." This made things very interesting. A fellow Rocket. Well. He supposed they would be seeing more of each other than he had hitherto imagined, which was... a good thing? Yes, it was a good thing: at the very least it was good to know that there was a friendly piece of 'eye candy' around the place.
"Rocket Grunt Alexander Cole," Frost echoed after some moments, his tones cool but not unfriendly, "you may call me Frost. That isn't my 'real' name either, but it is the name I choose to use around my associates... Mmh. I suppose this will make the logistics of making a trip to the library easier to organize." Xander's eevee seemed happy. Skiron seemed happy. He thought that Xander looked pleased too, but couldn't read him half as well as the pokemon, and he wasn't all that adept at reading pokemon even. "Some of what I said was true," Frost added as an afterthought, "I am new around here, as you may have guessed given the fact that you didn't recognise me." A friend on base... Well, they were not friends yet, but there was the potential for that there. He hoped that they could be friends or... whatever else.
Feeling very pleased with himself Skiron have a happy chirp and head-butted Xander's hand in a friendly manner before leaning down to nuzzle Conrad. He had been right, and now he could stay friends with the bouncy eevee while his trainer remained (or made) friends with the grey-eyed human. He wasn't sure he really fancied being stroked by this stranger for much longer, but at the moment he was content enough; he had been right, and they could all be friends.

Alexander stopped petting the Glaceon and ruffled his Eevee's fur before standing back up. He was glad D, no Frost, was the cool headed type and had calmed down after his minor out burst. While the older man did look good angry he preferred the other had listened to him. "Well then, pleasure to know the name you really go by." he smiled, both amused the other went by his codename and understanding of it. "Yes, at least this means we could plan the trip easier." he laughed with a grin.
"Well I don't doubt your new to the area but even if you weren't I would have necessarily have recognize you anyway. It's only been recently that I've been staying on base as most of my time spent as a Rocket my job has been to explore." he chuckled. Being a field agent was fun for the adventure but it did leave little time for friends or anything else for that matter.
Conrad chirruped at the fur ruffle from his partner then snuggled closer to Skiron. "Ee, eve vee." he was going to have to make sure the trainers ran into each other often so he could play with the Glaceon. He nuzzled the ice type and already started to plot ways.

"Ah, I see," Frost nodded slightly, "well in any case, it's good to know another rocket who doesn't appear to be of the opinion that I am serial killer material." More to the point, it was good to know another rocket like him; he didn't honestly care that much that a lot of his fellows found him freaky. It was a foolish thing to care about, he knew that, but it was hard not to feel isolated in a hereto-normative environment that seemed to contain so many lads. Noisy, smelly, drunken, testosterone pumped louts who appeared to think primarily with their testicles... Anyway. "You are spending more time on base now," Frost stated, "are you returning tonight? If you require transportation I have the use of a car today."
Still feeling rather pleased with himself, Skiron trotted back over to his trainer and gave him an affectionate nudge. A new friend for each of them; this had certainly been worth having his brushing interrupted.

"I can't see why anyone would think you're serial killer material." Alexander chuckled with an honest smile. "You don't have the same vibe as those times of people." Not that he had been around many serial killers mind you but he always figured you could probably tell at least some of them if you looked hard enough. "Yes we are returning tonight, apparently I'm finally getting assigned to a permanent dorm room soon so they want me at hand. A ride back would be great." he said with a bright smile. While he enjoyed walking, it was quite a way back to the base and he would have to leave soon if he had to walk back by foot.
Conrad moved over and leaned against his partners legs with a pleased look. Now that he had memorized the others scent his plans would be that much easier.

"Really?" Frost raised an eyebrow slightly. "Well, I shall take that as a compliment then... Shall we be going now then, or would you like to remain here a while longer?" The scenery here was certainly pleasant, but if Xander wanted to leave now he had no objection. In any case, it was a fair drive back to the base from here (or more accurately it was a small walk to the car on the edge of the forest and then a fair drive); he could drive at a more leisurely pace if they left now or at least soon and still be back in time for dinner...
On the other hand, wasn't driving fast supposed to be a good way to show off? Not that it seemed he had any particular need to show off; Xander was reacting more positively to him than anyone had at at first meeting in a long time. Not that people at HQ were generally unkind to him (most were perfectly civil so far as he could tell), but... Well it was something very different to be flirted with. He wasn't sure that anyone had ever flirted with him before, certainly if anyone had they hadn't made it obvious enough for him to notice. Mmh. In any case, driving fast to make himself look 'cool' was probably unnecessary, but if Xander wanted to hang around here longer then he would do so for the sake of arriving in time to get something to eat.

When Frost asked if they should leave now Alexander was reminded why they had come in the first place. "Oh, well if we wait to leave a bit more I can show you why Conrad and I had come here in the first place." he offered after suddenly having the urge to show the other man what Conrad and he had designated their private spot. He looked down at his partner and they shared a look. The Eevee was just as willing to show their new friends if not more happy to do so. "It's not very far from here." the blond added.

"Oh?" Frost frowned thoughtfully; he couldn't see anything wrong with taking up the offer, and he had to admit that his interest was a little piqued. "Very well," he nodded slightly, bending down to retrieve first his poke gear and then his bag, "lead the way." Putting the very telling device away safely and shouldering the bag, he waited patiently for Xander to set off. What odd twists and turns the day was taking were there more still in store, or had he consumed his quota of surprises today... Not that there was any such thing of course; life was random and chaotic, there was no grand plan where each day's events were rationed and pre-determined. He probably hadn't needed to correct himself within his own mind, but he would have felt somehow foolish if he had left it mentally unsaid.

"Good." Alexander gave Frost a big smile before turning and walking in the direction he and Conrad had been head in the first place. The Eevee was right at his heels this time as they continued through the forest. The blond remained silent for the most part and kept his eyes on the path that was well known to him. The sounds, smells and sights of nature once again filtered into his senses and he felt his self relax of any tension he had acquired. Soon he picked up the sound of running water and he looked back at Frost with a grin. "Welcome to our hide away." he said over his shoulder then turned back around to push aside some hanging vines and branches.
The hide away was a slightly sunken area that had a rocky over look to one side. The over look had a ten foot waterfall right in the middle of it and the water fell into a pool of clear water. The pool was only four foot deep at the most and eight feet wide before it spilled over into a stream that continued out of the clearing. There was various plant life all around the area, including muti-colored flowers blooming. "I may have been born and raised in a desert town but this place it rather peaceful." he said as Conrad puffed up and chirruped at Skiron to look at his fun area.

Frost moved along behind Xander without complaint, Skiron padding by his side. He still had no idea what to make of the young man, let alone of his advances. Foreign territory, and he didn't speak the language or even have a guide book... What a frivolous metaphor that had been. Not like him. Mmh. Well it wasn't as though it was important in any case; if any kind of a friendly relationship grew between them that would be nice he supposed, but if things went wrong it wasn't as if he was unused to social rejection...
Hideaway, Xander said, and quite a hideaway it was. Stepping through the curtain of foliage after the grey-eyed young rocket, Frost studied the tranquil little spot with the intensity of somebody seeking a lost needle in a haystack. "It is certainly an aesthetic location," he said softly, his voice betraying the merest hint of approval. "I can see how this would be a good place to forget the stresses of work." He was usually an indoors sort of person, working on a car or reading in the library, but he had to admit that this place did have a certain something to it, certainly more so than the location he had found before Xadner had found him. Reading a book out here would be far greater escapism than reading it back on base, even in his beloved library.
Frost was not the only one who approved; Skiron was already sniffing his way around the hidden clearing, picking up the scents of pokemon who had passed by here recently. The most notable thing, perhaps, was the lack of human scent beside his trainer and his trainer's new friend. It certainly was secluded here, serene too, and the waterfall made it cooler and thus more comfortable for him than the rest of the forest. Giving a happy chirr, the ice type waded into the plunge pool until the water touched his belly, and dipped his head slightly for a drink. He would certainly have to persuade Frost to come back here in future.

"I came across it a few months ago when I was still mostly traveling and I made sure to remember it." Alexander said with a pleased smile. It seemed to him even Frost had relaxed after taking in the area. "Never could come up with a name for it other then hideaway though." he laughed quietly, subconsciously not wanting to brake the calm. He watched as Conrad happily followed the ice type into the water and swim around in the slightly deeper part.
"It's a bit of a trek when you only have a day to enjoy it but usually worth it." he said the walked over to a few boulders that were close to the waterfall. "I actually learned how to float here." he laughed as he sat down and watched his pokemon play.
Conrad swam all over in the shallower two foot area's, making little chirrups every so often. He then swam over to Skiron and bumped him lightly in invitation to join him swimming. He knew that sometimes fish got caught in the pool and it was always fun to chase them.

"Hideaway is sufficient," Frost said with a shrug, "it describes what it is, there is no need for it to do more than that... It looks as though the pokemon are enjoying the water," he observed as Skiron waded deeper still and then began paddling beside Conrad, "shall we stay here for a while? I have no pressing duties to return to today." It was nice out here. He wouldn't want to live here, but equally he didn't want to depart the very moment they'd arrived just to hurry back to base.

Alexander hummed and nodded with a smile. "Then Hideaway it shall remain." he chuckled as he watched Conrad swim in circles around Skiron. "If your agreeable to stay that would be great. It's relaxing for me and Conrad needs to wear down for tonight." Xander tilted his head back and looked up at the tree limbs that filtered the sunlight. It was still only just past midday really but between the running water and the shady trees it was on the pleasantly coolish side.

"Very well," Frost nodded, "a hyperactive eevee is probably the last thing anyone needs in their room at night..." Humm, where to sit? Nothing he was clean of course (one of the drawbacks of the great outdoors) but the rocky area looked acceptable. Frost moved over there with a purposeful air and after a few moments selected a fairly flat, and more importantly moss-free rock to sit on. He wasn't sure where to take the conversation from here, and so he turned to watch their pokemon splash around in the water.
"Skiron is not usually so playful," he observed in neutral tones. "By and large he is very... cool, collected. Certainly not given to playing tag. It seems that Conrad has brought out the cub in him." It was odd to see, but the Glaceon was clearly happy. A sudden change in behaviour was not necessarily a bad thing, no matter how peculiar it might seem. Sometimes change was for the best.

"Well he can be difficult to manage at times." Alexander laughed. He leaned forward to rest his elbows on his knees and closed his eyes with a smile. "He may be a few years old now but he certainly never lost his enthusiasm." Much like his mothers pokemon had now that he thought of it. That Machamp was always showing off and the Hitmontop was just as energetic as the videos he had seen of it that were when he was too young to remember. Xander then looked over at Frost and chuckled. "How long have you had Skiron?"

"Mmh," Frost nodded slightly, eyes still trained on the pair of pokemon, "I suppose some keep their youthful enthusiasm longer than others..." Skiron had grown out of it really very quickly. Was that because of him? People did joke about pokemon and their trainers, but there was a truth to it, especially when you raised your pokemon almost from hatching. Friendly chatty Xander would bring up a happy bouncy eevee, whereas he... But Skiron was not an unhappy creature. He was restrained and collected most of them time, but he was happy. He had always believed he was anyway.
"How long?" Frost echoed, bringing his sharp-eyed focus off the pokemon and back onto Xander. "Let me see... That would just just over fifteen years now. He was given to me as an eevee when I was twenty." It felt like a lifetime ago, and yet at the same time he could still picture that ribbon-wrapped box with crystal clarity. It had been such a pretty box, but Dith had mangled it with a skewer to make lots of air holes. It had taken them half an hour to get the little eevee out from under the sofa, where he had fled as soon as the box was opened.
