It wasn't in his character to just quit in the middle of a game, and he was too much of a gentleman to just leave a woman hanging. Still, Kol sincerely hoped that he didn't get lost in the horrible maze of humans and their stink. For a fox who'd never been in a city before, the sights were a tad overwhelming.

Well, that worked! A quick glance back showed she'd thrown off her chaser, but Reisa knew better than to get cocky. She also knew the city could be scary and chaos for a fox unfamiliar with it, so as she made a sharp turn she knocked a couple crates over, leaving a vague idea of a path.
She also snickered at the thought of having to re-trace her steps to find Kol if he got lost like a kit.

Reis was already out of sight, but whether by accident or on purpose she'd left a toppled trail behind her. At least he hoped she had. Another quick prayer, and Kol put on as much speed as he could.

She could hear Kol's paws graze the crates, noisy as he was. Of course, this wasn't a silence contest. This was a race, and boy howdy was Reis winning!
She took a sharp right and flew down an alley way, splashing through puddles from yesterday's rain to leave wet paw prints for Kol. That was Reis, the thoughtful butt-kicker.

Well, at least Reisa was leaving a trail as she went, though he had no clue how he was going to get out of this city. He was terrified of actually running into a cluster of humans, he knew next to nothing about them.

Reisa began laughing. She was having so much fun! She turned another corner, again knocking over stuff, before a thought occurred to her. She couldn't hear Kol following her. Yes, she wanted to win this, but if she got to far ahead he might run into trouble and she'd never know it.
A few leaps put her up on a metal stair way thing, one that humans use to climb out of buildings when they are higher than the ground. Dangling her tail off one side and letting her tongue loll out, she waited.

Either way, he found himself running out of breath quicker than if he'd only been running a straight course rather than dodging and jumping around so much stuff.
There was still a trail for him to follow and Reisa's scent was still a bit of everywhere, but he didn't hear anymore crashes up ahead. That worried him. Did that mean open street was near and she'd dashed out? Certainly humans were close, he could smell them...

Ok, that was long enough! The vixen hopped down without so much as a tap from her paws hitting the ground, and nonchalantly turned down the ally.
She knew the city like the back of her paw, and she knew they'd have to cross a street in the next turn.
As sure as the sun rises and sets, another turn put her right out on a sidewalk. Crap... Reis had so hoped Kol would have been caught up by now... It was a car street, too. A vendor off to the side was selling hot links, and a couple males wizzed by on wheeled-board things. The metal monsters were slow, at least, but Kol had probably never seen them before... Well, she'd do the best she could!
Hissing like an overgrown cat, the vixen leaped up on the cart with the hot links, stomped around in the red and yellow sauce stuff, grabbed a string of links, and took off through the cars leaving paw prints and the scent of sizzling meat in her wake. Mmmm, hot links!

Some kind of meat he'd never smelt before. If the owners of the voices were upset for the reasons he thought they were though, Reisa had to be near.
Taking another deep breath, Kol pushed on and continued to run.

Across the street and safe in another ally, Reis paused to wolf down a few links. She was just about worn out, her earlier sugar rush turning to a crash. Never the matter, the center of the city was just a leap and bound away, now!
Wrapping the last of the links around her front leg to keep the meat-scent trail for when the mustard and ketchup wore off her paws, she gathered up the last scraps of stamina she had and pelted off. The next street she came to would be one of only walkers and people on metal-wheel things, a circle surrounding a massive fountain with four roads and multiple allys spiking out around it like a people's wheel. The race was about to be won!

By now he was just pelting across the streets, trying to stay as out of sight as possible and desperately following a vague scent in the hopes it set him straight.((Geez, you and your luck at this rolling game >_> ))

There. She could see the street, the people, the massive fountain in the midst of it all. It was at the end of the ally.
But... Reis paused at the end of the building beside her. Sure, she wanted to win, but Kol... She hadn't heard him behind her in a while, and she was a bit worried. Looking behind her she'd seen the paw prints had faded to nothing a ways back. Oh dear. The vixen paced at the edge of the ally, debating on going back to find him. If she ran and tapped the fountain, she'd win, but it would be her word against his and he may not truly believe her. And if she went back, he may beat her to the fountain. What to do... what to do?

This jog was slower, but didn't take as much energy to maintain and would honestly take him farther than the run he'd been holding until then.
He flinched away from a sudden movement, a human here in the back lanes where humans didn't seem to go. The human didn't seem too interested in him, though his eyes followed Kol as he skipped away in startled surprise. Perhaps this human didn't like the noise either, and he blended in well with his dirt-colored, tattered clothing, but he and all humans still gave Kol the collywobbles to be that close to.

Kol... Where was he? Reis was seriously re-thinking the challenge... what if he was lost? She took a step towards the fountain, changed her mind and went back, then circled toward the fountain again. Gah!
That's it, she was going to go back a ways. Padding down the ally, she began to call out Kol's name as loud as she could. Surely he was close enough to hear her? Hopefully? The vixen was starting to get really really worried.

As long as he caught up with Reis, she could make things right.
Kol was pretty sure he'd look back over this experience later with a sheepishness for being such a big baby, but at the moment he would just be happy to see some trees again.
