 He blushed at her reaction. He found it rather...cute. He had to think a bit more on her new question . "Well you see, muggles do have a sort of magic. It is called science. Science is a lot like alchemy actually. It is where it came from" he said as he tried to recall his lessons from home ." Well with the right mixture of different things they are able to make something that changes color with a change in temperature. uh..well it is a lot like this" he said pulling from his pocket a small plastic ring. On the top was a colorful gem ."Put this on then watch the gem" he smiled not fully realizing that he was handing a girl a ring. Plastic or not. It was a mood ring. He wondered if she'd seen something like it before but it was his best example he could think of at the moment.

"Oh, Science huh? I've heard that term before."
Indala took the mood ring that Nevin had handed to her and looked it over.
Hearing that she needed to put it on, she slide it onto her right ring finger.
The mood ring had started out as a pale brown color but as she watched it slowly shifted to green, purple, then a dark blue.
"Wow..." she marveled at it, and looked back up at Nevin excitedly.
"That's so cool!"
She took it back off of her finger and examined it, trying to figure out how exactly it worked.
There were no switches or a place for one of those Batty-things that stored power.
"Amazing," she whispered still concentrating on the ring.

"Ya I think that is really cool too. and it's right too!! blue means you are happy" he said smiling. "If you want you can keep it..." he said looking a little nervous. It would be the first time he ever gave anything to a girl other than his own sister. She would get along very well with Felix, his father. He was always trying to convince people that magic isn't always the answer and when anyone ever shows interest in a muggle topic he'd jump on it instantly. Perhaps some of that enthusiasm has rubbed off.

Indala smiled at Nevin across the table, her blue eyes bright as the clear sky.
As he offered her the ring she looked him in the eyes, unbelieving. "Are you sure? I don't want to take it from you if you're not."
Its probably pretty valuable, I mean think of the technology that must be incorporated!

He blushed lightly at the smile she gave him. "Yeah Im possitive" he said with a laugh, "if I wanted to I could always get another one." he said a bit nervously. He didn't want her to feel like he just gave her a throw away item. It barely cost him twenty five cents for the thing. "I mean...I could buy thousands..the plastic ones are pretty cheep. They do have some set in really nice jewelery though" his mind felt a little scatterbrained. He wasn't very sure as to what to say. Feeling rather silly he decided to try and change the topic off the ring ,"um...so uh..do you have any other questions of muggle things?"

Indala smiled brightly as Nevin indicated that he was sure he wanted to gift the ring to her.
"Oh! Thank you so much."
She slid the ring back onto her finger. "I'm sorry, I don't have anything to give to you in return."
I'll have to examine that further later.
"Hmm," she thought outloud.
"What about the pictures muggles take? They never move. My father said it is just because Muggles are lazy."
She quickly looked up at him not realizing what she had said before she said it, and hoping to have not offended him in anyway.

Nevin laughed again. "Ah well with that it is simply because there is no magic. Their technology can only capture a moment in time and hold it still. The images will never move, that is what the television is for" he said smiling wide . "No the muggles are not lazy, they just lack the magic to make the pictures. We do have one album of moving pictures and that was from my parents wedding. My mother insisited to have magical photos for a magical day" he said with another laugh. He was very much enjoying speaking of his family and of what he know of his muggle world.

Oh, nice of Chris to come back. He looks like he's sooo thrilled to be here.
She listened to Nevin's reply and smiled sweetly nodding at the thought of his mother wanting magic photos of her wedding.
"I would have to agree with that. Your mother sounds like an amazingly strong woman.
To have been able to deal with the realization that magic still exists in the world must have been quite a feat for her.
Besides that, your father must be a very patient man.
You are very lucky to have such wonderful parents." She smiled sweetly at him and took a sip of her tea.

"wow thank you" he said blushing and smiling. She was so nice. "Maybe you can meet them sometime" he said without thinking much of what that would mean. "Um..you could come visit my sister and I in London and I can show you around and um show you more muggle stuff" he said smiling nervously. He looked at Chris as he came back, "ya it does seem like it got busier" he said looking around. To be honest he hadn't noticed till he pointed it out.

"You are very welcome." She squirmed in her seat a little as he talked about her possibly going with him to London. " I would love to be able to spend time learning more about muggles!"
If only father could hear me now. He would probably kill me right off.
"Perhaps over a break sometime we can do that?" It wasn't very likely to happen, what with her father's controlling nature, but it was a nice thought.
" I think that I need to meet your sister. If she's anything like you, I'm sure well be good friends."

Nevin smiled widly, " Ya that would be perfect!" he said feeling very giddy. He could also feel his face warming from a blush but he decided to ignore that. A laugh came from him, " well she is much more energetic then me..and not as...shy" he said sheepishly as his blush deepened from embarrassment. "you would probably like her though,"

Indala turned in her seat and looked around the room to see if she could spy anyone who resembled Nevin, they were twins after all.
She turned back around in her seat, sad that she couldn't pick her out of the crowd, supposing that she was at the event.

Nevin had seen which table his sister had gone to but he couldn't see here there. "She was supposed to be there at table one...huh..maybe she had to use the restroom" he said but he stopped short when he saw Cosette. Perhaps something had happened between her and his sister. Worry stretched across his face as he turned back to the table. "or ..maybe she didnt get along with her table mates" he said wondering where his sister could have gone.

She watched Nevin and noted the worry on his face.
"Oh, that's no good. I hope she's alright.
Do you need to go find her?" She tried to think about where Levana could have run off to.
Gryffindor Tower maybe?
" If she's in Gryffindor Tower I would be able to retrieve her for you."
