Aksaja moved up to the cauldron and concentrated for a moment, trying to get some more of his FEAR into the mixture. Grinning, he stepped back after a moment. Felt pretty good ...

Holly sighed and tried to stir her last time. The first time was to much, then to little. Might she put in an appropriate amount this time? Yes, while not perfect she felt she did just fine this time.

Once again Rain reached over to stir the mixture and once again she channeled too much fear into the mix, causing it to bubble oddly. It was obvious that she was not in control of her Fear. Would she fail the minipet class? She didn't want to fail! Slinking back into her chair, she pulled Witch into a hug. At least she had tried.

((Okay right now everyone but Nyr has done all their rolls, and added up the total is 134. Divided by 8 is 16.75. Which means we're on track for a 'good'. Even if Nyr's last roll is a 10, we'll be at 18, which is still 'good'. So we're all right. Nyr, you can roll your last roll whenever, and I'll add it to this total. <3
Please feel free to double check my math, anyone!))

The mixture started off orange and it remained orange during the whole process, although it did turn a shade darker from when it first started out. As students infused their FEAR in it and stirred it, it bubbled and bubbled until it eventually stopped - indicating that the mixture was now ready for inspection.
Malcolm had headed to the table from another table (the students could hear him reprimanding them), his face expressionless as he examined the mixture, setting Ayakashi down on the table for the Minipet to make its round. Stopping at each student, he sniffed at each one and only stopped at Nyrikki, blinking at the ghost before letting out a soft whimper in Malcolm's direction.
"Ah, is that so?" He murmured, more to himself than to the students, "Well, that's that... At least you can smell his FEAR in it."
Looking up at the students around the table, he nodded, giving each of them a smile as Ayakashi hopped off the table into the Professor's arms. Addressing the group, he smiled, "Seems like everyone played a part - however, Nyrikki, according to Ayakashi's nose, you had slacked compared to the rest of your group members but you did help out and I will acknowledge that. Thank you everyone for your hard work - even a piece of paper can be strong if enough are stacked together!"
He then paused, looking between Calder and Riley before giving a small smile, "And for those who put aside petty disputes to work when tasked to do so, give yourself a pat on the back. Tolerance is an important trait if you wish to be successful."
Reaching into his pants, he produced a small green token roughly the size of a pumpkin seed and handed one to everyone in the group except for Nyrikki. He did toss the boil an apologetic look, but he needed to be fair to everyone, "Keep that - it will come in handy in the future."

Although Riley didn't feel like she had put any pettiness aside, she was sort of glad she had minimal contact with Calder during this class regardless of him being in her group. It had warranted a compliment from the professor - and that was always a step in the right direction. She gave the professor a courteous nod in thanks for the token, and pocketed it securely. Then, she took a measuring cup and scooped a portion of the mixture out. She brought it closer, taking a good look to make sure it didn't look like Calder had ruined it, before moving to the stove.
In to the pan went the mixture, and she stirred it for a moment while it heated up. She removed the brain she'd brought from it's little baggie, and set it down on her tray. A few clawchops later, she had smaller sized brainbits that she began adding to the mix. The list had mentioned sweeteners, and while there were several options to choose from on the tray.. Riley realized that she still had a few Icky Stix left over from Aksaja. She poured two different Icky Stix into the mix, and watched it explode with color. Cam would be appropriately horrified by the rainbow swirls it would make, and this pleased her. While she wasn't necessarily interested in what the candy smelled like, nor did she think Cam would care.. she read the little note on the list that mentioned crushed lavender was recommended by Professor Cadmus. Riley looked over her shoulder for a moment, before taking a pinch of crushed lavender and adding it to the mix quickly. She instantly felt silly for doing so, and moved to add a helping of flour mixed with a spoonful of baking powder. She assumed that would handle all of the ingredient quota that the list required, and stirred until a gooey consistency was achieved. When she pulled the spoon out, the colorful mixture dripped off in a slow but steady stream. She collected some into her hand, and rolled it into a ball - but as soon as she put it down, the ball sagged into a soft, colorful blob. It smelled like Icky Stix, though. She was tempted to eat it herself.
Well, I hope you like your candy gooey, Cam.

Jericho took a moment to look over the token, before pocketing it. He then went on to proceed with the next part of the assignment. Listening carefully, he took some of the mixture and brought it to the stove as well. While he mixed it, he tossed in the fish he brought for Flamethrower. It didn't really seem like this candy would be all that tasty, but he'd have to see how the cat liked it. Once the fish was stirred in a little more, Jericho tossed in some lavender and poured a heavy dose of cream. He also put some butter into it for good measure. The dragon considered speeding up the cooking process by charring the mixture, but decided that probably wouldn't do much here. Though, maybe Flamethrower would like charred food like he did. "Oh right.. sweetener.." he mumbled while looking at the supplies they had at hand. In went the honey, maple syrup, brown sugar, and heavy corn syrup. It should be sweet enough now. Thinking he wasn't quite done just yet, Jericho dumped in a lot of red food coloring until the mixture had shifted from its original orange color to a rather vibrant red. Feeling that was good now, he went on to spoon the mixture out to start forming into mini fireballs. The candy kept its form, but was rather squishy when pressure was applied. Aksaja eyed the whiteboard for a few moments, sliding the token they'd been given into a pocket. He didn't really . . . get it, but apparently they were supposed to make candy now? O-kay then.
Hanging back a little, he watched while Jericho and Riley worked on their creations and then reached for the mixture they'd made, deciding to give this a try. Since the Mimic seemed to like Icky Stix so much, he dumped the contents of a few of those into the mixture first.
Then he reached for some Honey, Brown Sugar and Granulated Sugar, figuring that more sweet stuff couldn't hurt, if the minipet liked the sugary candy he'd found it eating before.
Hmmn. What else? Heavy Cream, that was kinda sweet, right? With a shrug, he scooped some in. Huh. Okay, maybe something not so sweet to set off the sugar? Lemon Juice that would do. He squeezed some in quickly and then eyed the stuff, considering.
Should probably color it. Maybe add one of the scents. Cadmus had recommended the Lavender right? Okay, in that went! And then . . . well, the Mimic was green, so surely that was a good color. Aksaja dumped in some green food coloring and stirred the whole thing up.
Once that was done, he started spooning the stuff out and forming it into tube-shapes, kind of like the Icky Stix looked. That was easy enough. Now to see if the Mimic liked it. Aksaja picked up a piece of the mostly-cooled Fear Candy and held it out toward the thing. The minipet eyed it for a moment or two, then snatched the candy in its rather sharp teeth and started nomming. Well. Success, then. Calder took a spoonful of the mixture, glad they got a good grade despite a compliment from the Professor that made him sick. It wasn't like he had been trying to be nice to her. It was that he just didn't want to be ganged on by all her friends. Safety in numbers and he wasn't about to get taken down. However, it seemed Riley wasn't starting anything, so he had no cause to either. The fact he was even feeding his beloved friend some of HER FEAR made him a little sick and worried, but he took the mixture and went to his own pot, heating it up.
It was simply adding ingredients, which he did as best he could. He picked things he knew. Honey and Granulated Sugar because they seemed more natural than some odd syrup. Heavy Cream and Water because again, it was something he knew. That and being a water creature, he thought his leech might like something familiar. He added a few drops of Lemon Juice and, because there was little else to pick, Crushed Mixed Citrus Flowers for the smell. As his last ingredient, he bite his finger and added a few drops of blood to help the mix along. When that was done, he added some red food coloring to bring out the color.
Done, he took the mixture in his hand and shaped it. Since he was trying to make Fester think it was something to bite, to eat, and a subsitute for his body, he decided to make it look like Fester's favorite biting spot. His ear. So he molded and crafted as best he could before setting his creation down. It looked odd, but it was the best he could do. Only a test would see if it was good.
Reaching up, he took Fester from his head and set him down. The plump leech curled and then looked at the odd thing it was being given. This was NOT a warm body. Frowning as best as a leech could, the creature moved over and sniffed it, repelled. It didn't smell like something grand, Calder's blood masked by the citrus. Still, the color was blood red. Aside from that, it could care less, but Calder urged his friend on. "Go on. Try it at least." Not happy, the leech went over and took a bite only to get the kelpie off his back. It did NOT like what it was given, and curled up. there, it did it's part. Done, Fester moved away from it, looking up at Calder and wanting back up. Seemed his little friend was picky.
