It soothed him when the little kitsune slowly made her way to him, clutching the beautiful orb close to her liken to the last line of defence between her and everything else, his pupils glowing softly as he looked her over. Lidding his painted eyelids softly, he crouched down a bit so that he was closer to her height wise, to catch what she said, her stature coming off as a soft spoken creature.
Watching her facial features flow across in a display of emotions and internal thoughts, he couldn't help but smile, his thumbs lightly rubbing the box that rested in his hands. As her words fumbled out of her dainty mouth, his own smile softened, and his head bobbed with the words, earrings jingling musically as they jerked back and forth.
"I understand, that seems like a good word." he started, looking around. "Surprised, elated . . hmm. Shocked may be the best word for you though. It shocked you." He helped, amused by the broken english, but not put off by it at all. Leaning a little closer once again, he shifted his eyes before murmuring to her. "To be sincere, it . . . surprised me . . . also when I got the invite. I figured a strange man with 13 cats would be deterred. I'm glad to be here." He stated to her in secrecy, before laughing softly and straightening up a bit.

Riley blinked up at Barth, looking just a touch startled, before a choke of a laugh escaped her. Barth. That's.. clever. She clearly had no idea Barth had a sharp sense of wit, to have caught the pun. She allowed herself a small chuckle, while looking for a place to put their favors down. She wasn't going to carry them around this entire party. Spying a small table, she placed her hand on Barth's arm and gestured with her head to the table.
Let's put these down, and then go greet our hosts.
Her eye was caught by the movement of a newcomer, and she nodded as Whisper came up to take her favor.
Lovely to see you've joined us, Whisper. Barth, this is Whisper. I've become newly acquainted with her recently. Whisper, this is my friend Barth.

The first few guests had arrived and she realized that they came to the party together. Interesting. She hadn't even thought about finding a date for the affair though that's something her mother probably would have insisted first. Alcyone smiled and nodded as Sin introduced her to Arachne and Rosc. "Pleasure to meet you both. I also go by Alcie if you prefer."
As she left to tour the room, Alcie realized that several of the demons had brought dates and suddenly she felt out of place. Quickly, she snapped herself out of it. Showing weakness was not an option and she immediately put on a smile and continued through the room. Needing a moment to regain her composure, Alcie went to the front of the room to put on some music. She wanted to relieve some tension so she put on a hit scary song that had been rather popular lately.
Turning around, the water demon surveyed the room and assessed their work. So far, so good. She would give herself a few seconds before she would go be social and mingle with the other demons.

Such gatherings were normal back home, not that he was fond of them, but this was different. What better way to meet other demons than at such a gathering? And Carry had been absolutely thrilled at the thought of going so who was he to deny her something that would please her? His outfit had been made to suit her and make sure that there wasn't any clashing; though he was more into the deep red and black tones this time around; even his acid green hair was a deep red and his eyes were pitch black. As they walked into the space, he took note of who was there.
He was pleased to see Tomoko there; he recalled her from minipet class. He'd have to see how her three were treating her and if things had calmed down. And Barth was there... no West as of yet. He could see Gabe just yet, but he was sure he'd be there sooner or later. But he hadn't noticed the favors until she had brought him over and he reached down to take one from the second row, tilting it about curiously. "I'm not sure, my dear, but I'm sure that they're something interesting."

Arachne was back, window open and her Skitters had slipped in the moment she did so. She'd been waved off by them from one of their webs and she'd swept back along the hallway, amused that it had seemed for naught that Rosciel had escorted her.
Once back in the common room she saw that there were more who had turned up, though there were none that she knew to speak to. Instead she noticed the box she had picked was now open and with interest she moved over and looked inside, picking up the snake band with some excitement and slipping along her arm to see how well it looked.
She wasn't allowed jewellery as rule, her Grandmother only wanted her to wear the family heirlooms, always saying that anything else would stifle her natural ability as it wasn't charged with power but she was tired of wearing the same old stuff.

Claire made sure she was not late. This was a big event, and she had even bought a dress to wear to it.
However, she forgot that she had not eaten her 5:06 post-afternoon snack snack and that was much more important. It took a while to cook. Then she realized the time. She had only an hour to get ready. She dropped everything and had a panic snack, then she got ready.
She walked in sporting her a petite brown dress and white flats. She held in her hand a clutch purse with her eyepod touch and a few loose silver pumpkin seeds. She was dressed to impress.
She saw Livi, an envy demon. She smiled politely at him and scanned the room. There was a table with boxes on it. She picked one from the first row and moved away.
It was at that moment that she saw the most beautiful creature ever to grace Halloweentown. She was purple with tentacles... Claire vaguely noticed that she had company. Not surprising. Claire moved closer to her, not thinking. Her stomach's jaw dropped.
"H-Hello. You... You're... Uhm... Hello. I'm... Claire. Have we met?"
She blushed heavily, staring into her gorgeous face.

Riley looked down at Claire as she came closer, and her question made Riley's eyebrows raise just slightly. She blinked up at Barth for a moment in surprise, before bending down to be face to face with Claire.
Claire, darling, am I so easy to forget? I was at your little party, in your dorm room. I know we didn't get to talk while I was there, but.. Her eyes bent up into crescent shape in lieu of an affectionate expression. Well. I suppose I did not make much of an impression. Allow me to correct my mistake, then, shall we? She stood up straight and held her hand out in a graceful gesture. It's lovely to meet you, Claire. I'm Riley, a friend of your brothers. Her head gestured in Barth's direction as she mentioned him, though he may have been turned away.

"Oh... Yes, I remember now. I just, um, haven't seen you before in this light. Sorry about that, I..." She took Riley's hand and shook it slowly. It was soft. Riley was so pretty~ How did she not see this before! "Hello, Barth." She said, turning to him. "I didn't know you had so many friends! Surprising..." She murmured. She was also surprised that Barth had friends that were so damn good looking. Claire was insanely jealous and in awe at the same time. "This is a nice gathering." she stated, glancing around the room. "Lots of demons... And I think that ghoul over there invited us, yes?" she gestured at Sin "Oh, and that one..." she pointed at Alcyone.
Claire awkwardly played with her purse as she peered up at Riley.

Riley followed Claire's gesture, looking up at Sin. If the ghoul were looking in their direction, Riley would lift her hand and wiggle her fingers in a gentle greeting. So they did. We should go over and thank them for having us. She looked down at Claire, and her waving hand dropped to the girl's head. She brushed her fingers along the bangs, settling them perfectly in place. Then she leaned in and put her hand to Claire's ear, as if she was whispering into it.
Of course, she wasn't. It was an empty gesture meant to tease her brother.
Shall we sneak away from Barth together and do so, or should we let him tag along?

"We should definitely thank them! I mean, they put in lots of effort and stuff." Claire was confused about sneaking away from Barth. "Why?" she whispered "Did he do something wrong?"
She looked at Barth cautiously. "I suppose he should come along too..." She said to Riley seriously. "We don't want him to know that we know... What do we know? I don't know. If I had a beard I would be stroking it in thought." Claire then sat down on the floor for a second and stood back up. Nobody really knew why. "Let's go."

[Charlie and Lizzy reporting from here!]
As Charlie had so adorably suggested that they were 'awesome' enough to 'dazzle' without changing into something more formal, Lizzy decided to go along with it - she just couldn't say 'no' to him. Besides, they were already here and it was too late to leave and change into something more appropriate. Her dress might be considered rather formal wear, but compared to the gown-wearing ghouls, she certainly felt a little under-dressed. While she had attended a few social gatherings in the past, she had always been with her mother, who pretty much acted as a shield when having to deal with some of the more... Unruly Demons.
She could only hope that the Demons in this school are much more amiable and open-minded.
"Well, Charlie, here we are," She smiled, speaking in a low whisper as she scanned the room; there were some familiar faces, at least! Spotting Sin and Alcie, she walked towards the two Demoness with Charlie in tow. Once they were face to face, she dipped her head in greeting, "Hey Sin, Alcie! Thank you for the invitation... This set-up is pretty impressive." She met the former during the student council auditions, and the latter in this very room some time ago; she didn't feel the need to reintroduce herself. However, she was sure they had never met her partner before.
She turned to look expectantly at the boil whose arm she was holding onto, a smile on her face as she waited for him to introduce himself.

Arachne had picking at the party food, pondering whether to introduce herself to those she didn't know. At that moment a familiar face did enter, and on the arm of a boil.
She wiped her hands on a napkin, and walked over, smiling at Elizabeth.
'Hello there.'

Riley's Box - Sitting innocently in it's velvet lining was a very sharp blade with a cast of amber to it.  Barth's Box - Nestled in crushed velvet was a silver snake bracelet with rose quartz eyes. Whisper's Box - Sitting innocently in it's velvet lining was a very sharp blade with a cast of amber to it. Sin turned as she heard music floating in from the doors and smiled as she saw Riley enter...with Barth? Hmm well that was interesting, she nodded towards Jack as his attention shifted and moved herself to greet newcomers. It appeared that Riley, Barth, and Whisper were already being introduced so she moved to say hello to Livi and Carthusia first.
She walked over to the demon pair glad that they set an example, demons belonged with demons. Except lately she had seen so many demons quite content with non-demons...and it hadn't seemed as wrong or bad as her parents had made it out to be. She actually thought that Riley and Malodore suited rather well. Still her opinions were her own and she wasn't about to share them or cause strife.
She flashed Carthusia and Livi a smile and held her hand out. "Hello, so glad you could come, I'm Sin Err...and...Alcyone is somewhere around here...oh over there by the music. Feel free to have some dinner, dance, it's great to finally meet everyone. If you'll excuse me so I can finish making the rounds." She laughed and moved towards Claire who was also approaching Riley, my what a magnetic personalty that demon had. Ah and of course here came some more guests, this was perfect Alcie would be so pleased to see what a success this was shaping up to be.

If Jack had a high charisma roll, Tomoko had a very very very low one by comparison. Somehow, the 'shocked' didn't seem to be quite what she'd been picturing when she'd been trying to think of what it was she'd felt when she'd opened the envelope.
It had been...... ehhh..she wasn't sure what the feeling had been. But there had been one.
However, the mention of a whole thirteen cats earned a pause of surprise from the Kitsune. Surprise and awe. That was so many animals!! She could barely even manage her three bakekitsunes. Okay, she could manage two of them, it was the third that caused problems. She almost expected him to jump out of nowhere and start meyhem despite the fact she'd left him in her room. Tomoko took a moment to offer a quick wave over in the direction of the Envy-demon, but was polite enough to not abandon her current company.
"Wow...thirteen kitties? That's a lot. Do they cause a lot of trouble? I have trouble just handling three pets myself." She admitted glumly, though her ears did make a point to remain perked up instead of fumbling all over the place like they had been before.
