"No I do not mean that. Humans are. . . So flawed, yet so perfect. It's one giant paradox, too confusing to define by simple words." At that point there was nothing left to say. She allowed the Grandracmon to manhandle her, knowing that nothing had changed and Alter would likely kill her without a speck of remorse. Allowing herself to be thrown, Rebecca was too distracted by her contemplation to worry about matters of life and death. It was not until she realized there was one last thing to say that she gripped the cliff edge in an attempt to save herself. "Phoenix," she whispered to herself, before she looked once more at Alter, who she could barely see from this angle. "My father always told me about the phoenix, a silly little bird that would burn himself up every hundred years, but every time he would reemerge from the ashes. We're doing the same thing as the phoenix aren't we? Just burning ourselves over and over again," She was lost in an old memory. If Alter so wished it, he could step on her hands and send her tumbling down the cliff.

Alter looked down at Rebecca. "Then take your digimon and be reborn." He didn't need to say anything more. He could sense them. They had finally arrived. "But sadly we are done for now. I have a whole new problem to deal with." He returned his his seat, the Dark Memory being slipped back into his shirt.

Rebecca smirked, the mask was back on in an instant. She swung her legs upwards and flipped into the air, until she was above Alter. Only for a moment though, because in the next she was trying to lock her arms around him in a wrestling move she had once seen on television. Before Grandracmon could react, he would notice a trident being thrown in his direction. It was Phelesmon, the digimon who had been hiding within her shadow the entire time. The foot tapping, and claw scratching it was all simple morse code. Something Alter would not pick up on unless he was expressly looking for it. "There is one thing that separates us from the Phoenix, Alter my friend. We're smart enough to learn for our mistakes, and make up for them if we truly try," The memory had snapped her out of the funk. She was prepared to stop this conflict now no matter what the cost. "Let me guess what you plan on doing, pitting the two organizations against one another, then taking the memories once they've killed each other. Even if that weren't your intention I still cannot stand your holier than thou attitude, and don't appreciate being thrown off of cliffs. I simply won't disappear and let the angels do as they feel just. Fire doesn't pick sides, it simply burns indiscriminately, " Rebecca said this all, while still wrestling to grab Alter. It was not that she was planning on fighting him, she just felt the sudden urge to put the boy in a headlock. Something she had done multiple times to her younger brother whenever he misbehaved. Perhaps then he would listen to her.

Alter smirked in return. "So you brought out your hidden digimon. Took you long enough." Alter turned towards the scene of GranDracmon and Phelesmon, the Devil digimon flying past the vampire, straight towards his tamer, a look of surprise on the digimon as his body betrayed him. The devil tackled Rebecca in the air, grabbing his tamer and flying back towards the edge, just holding her there, his digimon strength more then enough to hold her for now. "You think I am just going to let them fight each other? I didn't need to do anything for that to happened. I am going to instead complete the angel's greatest goal."
(All Teams can get to the top now. SO DO IT!)

These were the word Kazu heard as he broke the peak of the mountains. As he had climbed the beast memory had appeard before him. It was now in his backpack with the rest of the Royal Knight's memories. He had had a feeling he'd need them.
"So... What's going on?"
Kazu posed the question to Alter. He had seen the man around during various scuffles for the memory. He looked strange, but Kazu couldn't put his finger on exactly what.
"I trek all the way out here. And I find you holding a girl over the edge of a cliff? And what the hell is the 'Angels greatest goal'?"
So many questions. Veemon stirred on Kazu's back. Kazu was releived, but he didn't show it.
"Well? What's going on..."

Alter took his seat in the throne that he had GranDracmon carve from the stone, turning his head towards the new human. "Ah good. You are the first of the teams here. Congratulations." Alter clapped lightly as he ignored the boy for now. "Hopefully you already know that I have the last memory." He smiled a little, his eyes empty.
"So I suppose I should ask what you plan to use the memories for. Once we compare goals you will see the flaws in your ideas."

A ball of green light emerges from behind Kazu and floats into view. The bright, translucent object dims and falls at his feet. The light surrounding the object fades on the rocky ground to reveal the beast digimemory. A promise of further aid was all Alex had been able to do.
UlforceVeedramon flies to the peak of the mountain at lightning fast speed. He notes that no fighting has started yet, and counts that as a good sign. Kazu, now below him seems to have just reached another pair of humans. "I remember them from earlier. My lord will want to be informed of this." Ulforceveedramon silently rises above the cloud line, and watches the conversation, but also staying on the ready to aid Kazu; who would definitely lose if the two other humans become violent.
Ulforceveedramon hopes that Alex will wake up soon. Surely by then all of his digimon shall be refreshed, and he will be able to leave. "Being ordered to watch that stupid kid has been the worst assignment of my life. He won't ever go berserk, and I won't ever have to kill him. So, why am I still here? I'm not his babysitter. He can take care of himself."
his attention is brought back to the kids on the mountain. It's obvious that it's all about to go down, so he quiets his frustrations, and watches silently.
*still at base*
Alex stirs in his deep sleep, but doesn't seem to be getting up any time soon. His digivice's screen flickers in his pocket. A feeble attempt by his digimon to rouse him into wakefulness. They get no response, and start to vibrate the digivice violently.

Kazu was slightly thrown by the man's question.
"You have the last memory... But I thought that Darkness Tamer..."
Before Kazu could follow that chain of thought a second question was shot at him.
"What will I do with the memories..."
Kazu fought the urge to say he didn't know. The Royal Knights had told them nothing of the climax to this event. Well if they wern't going to tell him... Then he'd take matters into his own hands!
"If I collect all of the memories... I'll get rid of them!"
A bold statement indeed.
""I-I mean. They've caused nothing but trouble for everyone involved. We've ended hundreds of lives in this war... And for what!? If I get all the memories, I'll use their power to end the fighting, so no one will find them again! Then... Then maybe I'll be able to travel this beautiful world without having to fight everywhere I go!"
Kazu's rant had awoken Veemon. The little dragon squrimed his way off of Kazu's back and dropped to the floor next to him. He remained silent. Taking in the situation.
Kazu looked Alter dead in the eye.
"That's my reasoning anyway. I don't know what the Spirits are planning to do, or what 'The Angel's Greatest Wish' is. And I don't care to be honest. I just want them gone, then this all ends..."
He took a deep breath.
"What is it you will do..."
He paused, waiting for the man's name.

Alter reached into his shirt, pulling out the purple hexagon. "I believe this is the memory. The Zeed Millenniummon who guarded it was easy to take care of." Alter smiled a little.
Alter waited for Kazu to answer, before he started to laugh, an hollow laugh, no joy escaping his throat. "That is what you will do? You will remove them? You are a fool. If you wanted to hide them, you should have never gone after them. You killed so that those you killed wouldn't be killed. That is a waist of energy."
"As for my plans. Why not wait a little. I don't like to repeat myself, so I would rather wait until I have a few more people to talk to."

Kazu shook his head.
"I fought initially because it was what I was told to do. I was fresh into the digital world. The Royal Knights took me in and cared for me. That was why I fought. But now. I have the power to choose my own path. I will eradicate those memories from existance."
After a few tense seconds Kazu nodded.
"Ok... I'll wait. But first, let the girl live. Let her back onto this cliff-side. Haven't enough people been hurt already?"
Kazu gripped Veemon's shoulder and took a calculated step backwards, showing the man he would honour his request for extra time.
"And if I could get your name?"

"Ever the hero?" Alter commented. "Stop talking like you hold all the cards. You attack then I can kill the girl, you stay there, then she stays there. I don't even need to give my name. I know yours Kazu. I know about your mother, father, I know every step you took in this world. There is nothing you can hide from me."
*Note in case you are wondering Alter can read minds... and control digimon. In his profile. I normally don't us it, but as the boss I get too!

Kazu flinched. His Mother and Father? He'd not thought about them for a long time... Not since Mermaimon had joined him. Looking at Alter he felt a pang in the back of his head. Something was seriously wrong. Normally he'd doubt anyone knowing everthing he'd done here, but looking at this person. Kazu didn't doubt he could do anything.
"Ok. So you won't give me your name. And your right... I don't hold all the cards, but a card player can come back even with one good hand."
Kazu took another small step backwards, to ensure that the girl wouldn't be dropped.
You could cut the tension with a knife...
