Kai looked a bit apprehensive as he entered the office with his caretaker just behind him. He had feared all morning that Ellion would change his mind about finding his teacher, then he had feared that something horrible had happened to the other angel. Both thoughts left the young angel anxious and on edge. “Morning.” Kai greeted softly while his care taker nodded to the human. A bit of relief flooded through the small angel hearing the man suggest they start out quickly. Kai listened to the man make the wish with a bit more of relief. Seeing the mist had Kai curious never before had he seen an angel tracked by another’s feather. In his realm everyone knew where the other was but here on earth it was not so easy. The two angels quickly followed the human and the pink mist until they finally arrived at what appeared to be a building with the only available entrance leading underneath it. Kai quickly grew anxious again, he knew demons favored the under ground and that he was supposed to have the sun’s light for his wings. The sun did not touch under the ground.
Sensing her young charge’s anxiety the female placed a hand on his shoulder. “It is alright Ai er, no harm will come to you while I am here. We will be alright finding your teacher if he is down there.” She assured before she led the small angel after the human. The stairwell they had entered opened into a hallway with carpet. At the end of the hall way was a door with a human guarding it. As they approached the female watched as the two humans exchanged words and then they were allowed entry. What was beyond the door surprised her more than she thought it would have. It was much different than what she had imagined, the angels in this place were treated far worse and many had darkening feathers. Feeling a tug on her garments the female looked to her young charge who directed her glance in the direction of another human carrying a jacket that looked exactly like his teachers, the blood on it showed that it could have only been his.
The humans had come and gone again once more ripping apart his once proud wings. His body radiated with pain and he could barely open his eyes anymore his body so exhausted so heavy. He knew he was deep within the grasp of a potential falling but he couldn’t help it. How could he return without his young student and with his wings shredded the way they were, feathers missing in great portions. And if he had been able to open his eyes he would have seen the dark gray in color. His thoughts too had begun to darken, he thought that falling couldn’t be that bad maybe Lucifer would be nicer to him than these humans had been maybe he would release him from the pain he felt.

When they finally made it to the building up to which the mist travelled, Ellion sighed. Of all the places in town he could have been at, this was probably the worst, especially since they were still hoping the man hadn't fallen. This place was infamous yet frequented by many influential men and even a few women. It seemed as though the charms of angels tempted them in to take more than their feathers.
Looking at the other two, Ellion warned, "This is not a pleasant place, and I caution both of you to keep yourselves aware and guarded. Just stay close to me and try not to look around too much." As they entered, he was immediately struck with the fear that they were too late. Perhaps it was just the atmosphere, but the instant he saw the coat being carried by, his heart sunk. Speaking with what was obviously the manager of the establishment, he kept a cold face and after the requisite formalities, he made the suggestion that he was there to find a new 'plaything.' When the manager rung his hands and eagerly asked what he was looking for, Ellion carefully made seemingly vague requests which he knew would describe the young teacher well.
After being shown one or two irrelevant angels, he was finally led to what he could plainly recognize as their target, and he felt the center of his chest freeze up. Forcing himself to remain composed, he made a face and asked, "Oi, what's with this ruddy colour? And look at his wings! If this is what you consider worthy of a man such as me, perhaps I've come to the wrong place!" Despite the manager's apologies and attempts at explanation, Ellion continued to act disgusted. "Trying to sell me damaged merchandise. He isn't worth even a fourth the price of something from the auction house in the marketplace!"
For a few long minutes the two went back and forth, arguing about the price and trying to persuade one another. In the end Ellion's acting seemed to make the manager nervous of other customers overhearing, and admitted that the angel was in such bad shape that there was really little hope of making more off him in any other way. They finally agreed upon what could barely be considered a price and Ellion was allowed to take him. Demanding something to wrap him in on the pretense of not wanting to soil his own clothes, Ellion had the female angel wrap him up for show. However, he picked the injured man up himself with ease and walked out, still acting a bit annoyed.
Once they were clear of the wretched place, Ellion glanced down woefully at the limp mass of blood and tangled flesh in his arms. Glancing over at the female, he asked in a low voice, "Can this damage be undone? The colour of his wings was worrisome, but is there even a chance that we might be able to save him yet?" Whether it was for the young boy's sake or out of his own concern and guilt, Ellion did not know why he was so bothered with the state of what they had found, but he could not simply abandon things at such a stage. Instead, he wished to work with what they were given, if there was even a thin chance of success.

The female nodded when Ellion had told her and her charge to be cautious and stay aware. She followed his advice and stayed close knowing it was better to pretend like they truly belonged to the human for the moment. The two angels could feel their stomachs turning at seeing the condition of their own kin. While the guardian held her resolve well she could tell her charge was having a tough time at not running to the angels. When they came upon his teacher she had to keep a firm hand on his shoulder. She couldn’t believe that the condition that the other angel was in after only a couple of days. Humans were cruel, and vicious, the color of the teacher’s wings made her grimace but she was relieved he hadn’t fallen completely yet. If the wings darkened too much further she knew that he would have no chance of return.
She watched the human argue with Ellion for a few minutes before finally giving in. Instructing her young charge to stay put she approached the beaten and torn apart angel who gave a soft whimper upon her approach. She knew he must think her another human, his senses dulled here beneath the earth and sun. Gently she wrapped the cloth she had been given around the angel making sure to bind his arms and wings within it. If the male decided to bring himself more forward to conscious and struggled he would do more harm than necessary to himself, she made sure he would not. Once done she looked to Ellion who surprised her with his approach and lifting of the male angel. Returning to her charge they followed the human out giving a sigh of relief as they hit the sunlight.
“He is gravely injured, his wings I believe are broken, they will have to be removed to re grow properly I’m afraid that they may not regain their complete color. With a bit of care and kindness however they will lighten. He will need plenty of nutrition and sunlight however. From what I could tell the humans were not kind, I need more time to examine him to search for more injuries. He has not completely fallen and with no more cruelty I believe he will come back, you should be able to save him, this is not something another angel can do however. We are to trust in humans or at least respect them, we are not to fear them. He will need you to provide a human he can trust but I fear that trust and lack of fear will not come easily.” The female angel said softly.
There were voices around him, first had been footsteps now voices. Humans, his mind was too hazy in exhaustion to figure out what they could possibly be saying but when the voices raised he couldn’t see what good would come of it. Then footsteps approached and a whimper escaped the male’s throat, they were going to hurt him once more he knew it. Therefore it was a surprise as a gentle hand touched him wrapping him in something, pulling his wings and arms close to his body. Breath quickened, he was being restrained in a way, then more footsteps and he was in someone’s arms. He was being moved of that he was aware of but he could not be aware of much more.
When consciousness finally reached the angel once more he was aware of the fact that he was not underground any longer, he could feel sunlight on his skin. The next thing he was aware of was that he was laying on his back something that his wings would not allow for. His wings… the things he cherished greatly that had been torn at by the humans were gone. Green eyes opened staring at an ornate ceiling that surprised him. The more he awoke the more aware he became of how much his body ached.

Listening carefully to the female, Ellion felt a faint glimmer of hope return to him. At the mention of the wings, he grimaced. "Will that really work? I didn't know they could grow back...can angels do that with all of their limbs?" he asked, wondering if they were more like a starfish in that regard. However, if it was a necessary step in the healing process, it couldn't be helped. Either a butcher or preferably a doctor would be able to remove them easily enough, though he wondered if an angel would have to walk them through it.
Thinking for a moment, Ellion assured her, "Nutrition is not a concern, any food he needs can be bought and prepared special. As for the sunlight...there is a balcony extending off the back end of my room. It gets plenty of sun during the day, and until he's strong enough to walk outside himself, he's more than welcome to sit up there. I rarely use it myself, so it wouldn't be a bother at all." Sighing at her mention of the human's cruelty, Ellion admitted, "It is a shame to say that some people are just like that. I assure you, however, that I am not. I will do whatever I must to help him, as I would never wish for anyone to fear me. Dominance is not necessarily something I relish."
Back at the house, Ellion sent a maid to fetch a doctor, not wanting to seem insensitive by calling in a butcher. When he man arrived, Ellion had the female walk him through removing the injured one's wings, as well as tending to the rest of the wounds covering his body. When it was all said and done Ellion paid the fee and thanked the doctor for arriving on such short notice. Despite the doctor's questioning, Ellion would only say that he had happened upon the angel in that state and taken pity on him.
Turning to the female, he said, "If you and Kai have anything you need to do today, you are free. Lunch is well passed, but dinner will be in a few hours. If you're hungry just tell whoever happens to be in the kitchen what you'd like. As for myself...I really have no other business today. I suppose I'll bring a book up and wait for him to awaken," he explained, motioning to the door to his own room. Since the boy was already taking up the guest room and the other empty room on the upper floor was not yet ready, they had been forced to lay the patient on Ellion's own bed after he had been taken care of. It didn't bother him, though. The bed was large enough that even if they both ended up sleeping in it they would be able to feel as though they were in separate ones.
Taking two books out of his study, Ellion returned to his room with anticipation. Not only did he soon hope to know how well the new angel was, but he needed to know his mental state. More than anything, he hoped it would be a gentle introduction.
Sure enough after about an hour, he noticed a subtle movement and looked up from the book he had been clumsily ambling his way through. Seeing the angel's eyes open, he closed his book in his lap, waiting to see what he might do next. Unable to wait, Ellion said, "Hello," in a soft voice, not wanting to frighten him. "How are you feeling? My name is Ellion..." It was an awkward introduction, but the best he could manage in such a strange situation.

“It will work, our wings are the most important things to our bodies we heal them quicker than many other wounds. Limbs… I do not believe we grow those back, they are not necessary for us if we wish to return to heaven.” The female explained smiling a bit softly at Ellion’s questioning. Listening to the man explain that anything the male angel in his arms needed would be provided brought a bit of relief to her and her young charge.
The guardian had sent Kai back to his room when they arrived back at the human’s home not wanting the young angel to witness anymore than he already had. When the doctor arrived she guided the man in removed the other angels wings making sure he removed nearly everything but the core. That she made sure was protected and unharmed as the doctor cut into the angels wings with her own magic. She also hid it from the two humans sight knowing should they know about it and its power then all angels on earth would suddenly become basically human. While there would be no more falling, they would be unable to return to heaven. Then if the humans found out it could be implanted into themselves then they too could gain wings. It was not something she was willing to risk even though Ellion seemed so sincere in his want to make sure no one harmed the angels in his care.
“We have nothing further that needs done but I shall collect him and make our way to the kitchen to eat then outside so he may bask in the sunlight. If you require my help call and I will come.” The female angel said before turning and making her way to the door. She turned back when she reached the doorway. “Becareful,” she warned. “An angel continues to have magic without their wings if allowed to grow back. It is weak but still there. He may in fright try to use it, it is not good for him and he can harm you with it.” With that she left.
The male angel stared at the ceiling trying to remember how he had come to such a comfortable place when everything before seemed to be filled with pain. A soft greeting alerted him to the presence of another and suddenly the male angel was sitting wide eyes catching sight of Ellion. His breathing was quick in surprise and fear at seeing the human. “Where am I? Why am I here and what have you done to my wings?!” the male demanded.

Understanding the distress and glad for the questions, Ellion smiled softly. Keeping his voice soft, he explained, "You are in my house. That place you were at before full of humans and pain? I took you from there because, from what I understand, a certain young angel I came across the other day needs your help." Explaining how he had come to meet the youngest of the three angels and how the female had come of her own accord and explained things to him, Ellion watched the male angel carefully, not wanting to pile too much on him or give him a start.
His tone turning somber, Ellion explained, "When we found you, your wings were apparently broken. The female told me they would have to be removed if we wanted you to recover. So, I had her and a doctor take off your wings and patch you up as well as possible. If you noticed they missed anything or if you're in a significant amount of pain, please let me or anyone else you happen to see know. We have things around here that can help." Not knowing where to take the conversation next, Ellion decided to try and just be personable, as it seemed the angel needed comfort.
"So, what is your name?" he asked, having not gotten the same courtesy that he had been so careful to give.

The male angel watched the human, Ellion before him with caution. He had never doubted a human’s intent before he had come to earth and been put through the pain he had but now he doubted the man without a thought. He didn’t know what the human wanted with him but he couldn’t think it could be anything good. Cautious green eyes widened however when the human mentioned his young student was near; Kai, Kai was near and in a human’s home possibly without the aide of another angel. Thoughts raced through the male’s mind of how to escape and how to get his young student back to heaven, so much so that he barely heard the explanation of how Ellion had brought him where he was now.
The change in tone captured the angel’s attention once more. A human doctor had removed his wings along with possibly another human who seemed to know about angels. He could still feel his magic which meant they hadn’t cut everything away. The human was right he would regain his wings, but it would not be pleasant, that he knew for sure. “Raziel….” The male answered softly when the human questioned his name. His gaze had dropped momentarily to the bed his eyes flicking back and forth in thought. “Where is he?” Raziel questioned. “I want to see Kai, where is he?” the angel demanded once more. If the man or any human had hurt the young angel….

Noticing how distracted the angel seemed, Ellion wondered if anything he was saying actually got through to him. Despite this, he smiled and said, "Raziel...did I say that right? It has a pleasant sound." Unsure what angels might think of their own names, he took a chance and hoped that it sounded as sincere as it was. When the angel began demanding that he see the younger one, Ellion hesitated. He would either have to open the curtains and glass doors to the balcony which looked out over the backyard and hope that the two were in view, or else he would have to go find them himself.
Not wanting to risk having the male fall over the balcony, he said, "Let me go get them. She said she was taking the boy outside for some sunlight." Standing up, he said, "Just wait here a minute," and left with his books under his arms, planning to drop them off on his way outside.
Out in the yard, he finally found the two angels, happily enjoying the bright afternoon. Approaching with a smile, he said quietly to the female, "He's awake now, but he's demanding to see the boy. I didn't really know what to do, so I just came to find you. He's well enough to sit up on his own, that much is clear, but he doesn't seem to have all his wits about him. Personally, I don't think he should be moving around so much just yet, but what could I do? Anyway, what do you think is best?" he asked, hoping for some guidance and momentary assistance.

Raziel didn't respond when the human asked if he had gotten his name right, he didn't care if the human wanted to try and pronounce his name. He wanted to make sure his student was safe and unharmed then he would send the youngling back to heaven even if it killed him. Raziel watched as the human stood explaining that some female had taken Kai to get sunlight and that he would go and fetch the child. Watching the man disappear from the room had the angel breathing out a harsh breath. He felt like he was being crushed from within, symptoms he knew were signs of falling. He needed to send Kai back before he fell, he would do that last thing.
The female was surprised to see Ellion so soon, she gave a slight nod to his smile as he approached. "Hes not ready to see Kai yet, hes still too polluted. Your correct in the fact that he shouldn't be moving around too much, he needs time to heal and doing so will only aggravate his injuries. I will go speak with him, if he knows i'm here I think it will set him more at ease that Kai is being cared for." The female said before turning to her young charge and calling to him telling him it was time to return inside for a bit. Once Kai had been brought back to his room she followed Ellion back up to his room. "Raziel." she greeted entering the room.
Raziel looked up in surprise as his young student's guardian entered the room with the human. "Azrael? How is Kai? Is he safe have any humans hurt him?" Raziel questioned shifting to sit on the edge of the bed.
"Kai is safe, no one has harmed him." the female answered. "Now you need to relax, you'll only aggravate..." her words were cut off and she darted forward to the male angel who had smiled hearing that his student was safe and unharmed. When the green eyes shifted closed however and he began to fall back was what had Azrael darting forward. "Don't!" she yelled pulling at Raziel's arms to make him sit up once more. She knew he was allowing himself to fall, he wasn't taking the corruption of the humans well.

Thinking all had been resolved, Ellion said, "You see? They are both safe, as are you now. So please, do not worry yourself too much over the details until you are well again." However, as he watched the female run forward in a panic and grab the other's arms, he couldn't help but feel he was missing something. Pausing for a moment as he watched the two, Ellion went over and assisted the female in holding Raziel in a proper sitting position. "What's the matter?" he asked, assuming it was something more troublesome than simply aggravating his wounds.
As he thought about it, something struck him. "By the way, milady, I don't believe I ever caught your name, even though it's been a day now. I'm Ellion...have I said that before? And if you don't mind me asking, what's the boy's name? I feel a bit silly having waited this long without realizing it," he added, wondering if it was an inappropriate time to be sorting out such trivial things.

Azrael gave a appreciated look to Ellion although it was hurried when the man helped her keep the male angel in a sitting position. In an instant she had summoned some of her own power into her hand then she seemingly she shoved it into the angel’s chest. The male angel arched his back with a gasp before falling forward into Azrael’s arms with gasping breaths. Something had been sealed within him and although he knew it was still there he could not access it. Whatever Azrael had done to stop the fall however wouldn’t hold long, he could already feel it crumbling the darkness fighting against the shield of light within him. “He was starting to complete the falling. I have sealed it temporarily so it will not hold.” Azrael said softly holding the male angel in her arms she knew what she had done had not been pleasant.
“My name is Azrael, the youngling whose care is entrusted to me is Kai.” Azrael said a bit frustrated. Humans seemed to have the most horrible timing to bring the most irrelevant things up. However she answered the man’s questions seeing as he had done nothing but help so far.
“Az… the darkness…” Raziel gasped out drawing Azrael’s attention back to the male angel.
“You will not go into it Raziel, it is something only a fool would do, you are not foolish enough to do that.” Azrael growled.
“It promises to end the pain.” Raziel answered softly his eyes closing.

Surprised at the mention of falling, Ellion looked from one angel to the other before asking, "So, you have to literally fall? Literally and figuratively?" While it didn't make much sense to him, many of the powers of the angels were difficult to comprehend, especially for a human who had never known such magic in his own life.
When Raziel mentioned the darkness, Ellion frowned contemplatively. "Well, your pain will end more pleasantly if you could just bear it a little longer and recover without falling. Here in the mansion you're safe from anyone who might even try to hurt you, I promise." Although he doubted Raziel would actually believe him, Ellion felt as though he could do nothing but try and hope for the best. After all, regardless of how much he tried to help, whether or not the angel fell seemed to be its own choice, and with the condition Raziel was already in, he feared leaving the man alone for too long.
After an uncomfortable pause, Ellion asked, "Is there anything you need, Raziel? Your stay here ought to be pleasant. I am currently providing Azrael and Kai with whatever they may need to live here comfortably, and I extend the same offer to you. Should you ever need anything, please let me know and I shall make arrangements. Other than that, I fear there is little I can do..." Unfortunately, for once in his life Ellion felt completely powerless to help someone. In the past all it took was some money and fast talking and he could get anyone out of nearly any situation if he absolutely had to. However, in Raziel's case, it seemed as though it would take a lot more tact.

“Yes an angel must fall to actually fall. It happens in many ways, don’t ask why it doesn’t quite make sense to us either we just know that’s how it supposed to happen. There are other circumstances that are needed to cause it.” Azrael explained ignoring Raziel’s comment about the darkness promising to end the pain.
Green eyes of the male angel darted up to locate Ellion as the man spoke telling him the pain would lessen and disappear if he merely waited without falling. The human before him promised that he was safe from anyone attempting to hurt him where he was in this human’s dwelling. While he reared back to snap at the human something just stopped him, something within told him the human was not lying that he truly meant no harm. That thing within him told him to trust the human but he wouldn’t do that not without reason. His opportunity came quickly it seemed to test the human. “What I need is for Kai to be sent back and out of the grasp of humans.” Raziel demanded. “You can bring him to me and I will send him back.” He finished.

Feeling as though he were being studied, Ellion asked s a counter test, "And if I did so, would you promise to remain here on Earth with me in his place? I didn't buy both him and you simply so I could lose both of you so soon, though I know that sounds harsh and greedy of me. Would I be able to trust you to stay here without falling, knowing that without your student to look after and protect you would have no reason to do so? Still...there are good enough reasons to allow it. Please excuse us for a moment," he finished, motioning for Azrael to follow him out of the room.
Once they were out in the hallway by themselves, Ellion crossed his arms over his chest. "I hate to ask, but...what do you think of all this?" While he expected the female to suggest merely giving into Raziel's request, he continued, "I really would hate to have to give up Kai at this point, and I fear that allowing Raziel to send him back to heaven would leave him with no reason to stay here himself." Pausing to think for a moment, Ellion says, "The lot of your are more trouble than I originally bargained for...especially this one," he said, motioning towards the door to his own room.
"I would prefer not to have to send Kai back, but...I also don't want Raziel to fall. While he would have no reason not to if I allowed Kai to be sent back, it seems as though he won't be satisfied or trusting of me unless I do, or otherwise give a good enough excuse not to. While I'm sure you would like for me to send Kai back as well, I have no real choice other than to consult you in this matter." Waiting for a reply, Ellion glanced over to the door of Kai's room as well, wondering what the youngest angel thought of the entire situation or if he even understood everything that was going on.

Raziel looked a bit surprised the human was devious demanding something in place of him being able to send Kai back home. The man, Ellion was right his demands did sound greedy but not harsh; the angel didn’t think the man could really sound harsh without being truly angry. Could he stay on earth without falling if the human let him send Kai back to heaven? He was saved for the moment from answering the question when the human motioned for Azrael to follow him from the room. He watched the two unlikely pair walk from the room and leave him to his own thoughts.
“I think that this was what was planned. I think this is what was meant to happen with Kai’s falling to earth to bring Raziel to you. I feel more to happen here.” Azrael said softly not willing to alert the other angel on the other side of the door to her awareness. “Raziel desires nothing more than the safety and care of the youngling , much more than I have ever seen from another angel to a teacher. I believe he will agree to stay here on earth and remain as he is if you agree to send Kai back to be raised properly.” Azrael explained. “I think that this was Kai’s first duty to bring the two of you together. This leaves the youngling free to go back, if his duty is incomplete he will be unable to return just yet. I also believe that the youngling will return to earth; here, when he has matured. I do not think that far off either. If you agree, I do believe he will return our lord has more work for him on earth. So it would only seem fair that Kai and I would return to a human we can trust. Ultimately the decision is up to yourself.” Azrael finished.
Raziel looked up as the two re-entered the room. “I will stay… if you allow Kai to return to where he belongs I will stay and refuse the falling. Even… even if it causes more pain than I have already felt.” Raziel said bowing his head, green eyes lowered in submission.
