Maritess was growing uncomfortable being around students she wasn't familiar with. She tried her best but the instant she saw Lizzy enter, she practically shot towards the spider demon. "Lizzy! You're in this class, too?" she grinned happily and more than a little relieved to see her friend. "Is Iggy going to be here?" she asked, hoping that their little band would be complete.

Professor Tailor's attention sweeps out over the class, taking in the new and the old, tallying up numbers in his head -- and then turns to the clock above the door. He doesn't say it, but his posture makes it clear: anyone who arrives after this point? is late. He eases out into the middle of the classroom and, with a whip-crack, snaps the box in the center of the room open. He waits until the conversation dies down before he speaks, in a clear voice, projecting. Comfortable. Performing, a little. "The clothes make the man." His eyebrows wiggle, sapping any note of seriousness out of the comment. "Or woman. Or monster." Another quick snap opens the box the rest of the way, and the students will get glimpses of what looks like trash inside. "It'd be wonderful if we all could afford to buy new clothes and fancy costumes any time we need them. Unfortunately, that's not the way things work." A quick kick tips the box onto its side, and a handful of items come spilling out. "So we work with what we have. This is a test of creativity. Pushing the limits of your ingenuity." He tips his chin up, loosening his tie a touch. No need to be so formal. Not when his students always seem to be left looking so completely ridiculous. "What you have, today, is whatever you can dig out of this box. I want you to fashion yourself a costume out of it. It can be as ridiculous as you like, or as cunning; as simple or as elaborate. But the point is to be anyone but yourself." Another nudge, and the rest of the items come tumbling onto the floor: hedge clippers long, orange feathers crabgrass seeds -- still lively giant purple bra blue and white yarn hair pins red polka-dotted cloth giant sunglasses ugly striped ties gnarly golden horns jars of glowing green beetles blood-stained bandages torn pages from history books hunks of pale fur wooden practice swords "You have until the end of class to work. I don't care if you team up, if you work alone, if you help each other out -- " Or if they sabotage each other, but he doesn't say that, just smiles and shrugs and gestures downward. "Have at. Feel free to ask questions. I'll look over your costumes at the end." ((Get to it, kids! Using the items above, come up with a costume that will disguise your character and change their appearance. You can present your finished product either by writing it out or by drawing what it looks like. Feel free to team up, or to work alone. This will likely close up around the 28th of January. You can come in late, but will be penalized.))

Ahh... this was going to be a fascinating lesson! Malodore immediately grabbed the cardboard box, shaking free a few wisps of fur that had stubbornly clung to the bottom. While it didn't anticipate needing a disguise, proper scientists usually had one hidden somewhere, in case they needed rapid exits from towns without being pitchfork'd or torched on the way out.
Spotting Riley, Malodore immediately made a beeline for her. "I have requisitioned some useful equipment," it announced, pleasantly. "I believe I am also obliged to be your partner in this matter, signorina."

Riley jumped slightly, having been unaware that Malodore had entered the classroom. Hearing his voice gave her a pleasant, funny feeling. She raised a brow at the box, and looked inside. Her hands immediately went in to investigate.
You can be my partner in any matter you ever wish, Malodore. She admitted frankly, not really ashamed to admit it. Who could ever ask for a better partner, anyway? She pulled out the purple bra with one hand, and eyed it critically.
What is it with this school and underwear? She hissed out softly. This was the second time she'd found a bra in a class related facility. She let it drop from her hands, and shook her head.
Oh, look. She took the horns out and (carefully) placed them on her head. Now I'm a real demon. She murmured in a teasing tone.

Malodore gave Riley and her 'new horns' an amused look, then gave the bra what could only be described as the stink-eye. "I do not know, but I don't think we'll be needing it," it said, as tactfully as it could manage. "What should we use? I believe we each will need a costume of some variety." It was already pulling implements from its sleeves to cut the cardboard.

Riley was currently fiddling with all of the other little items that were strewn about, but she couldn't think of anything. At least, not for her. She picked up a wooden sword, and a handful of feathers, and held one against the other. Her eyes flickered to Malodore, and then to the swords, and back to Malodore again. Sadly, the swords weren't Malodore, but A wicked glint glimmered in her eyes, and she gathered up quite a few swords and feathers.
I have an idea. You can say no if you want, but. Her eyes crinkled, shaped to crescents. I think you should make my disguise. And I shall make yours.
She placed eight of the swords on her desk, lined up in a row, and dropped the feathers against them. Who knows what she had planned?

Once Tess had finished discreetly jotting down notes for the Career Counseling form (and studying the professor as intently as she could while still listening), she stared at the pile of stuff. Two of her classmates had already selected their material. She flew to the pile and picked the red polka-dotted cloth. It was a shame, the red was a lovely shade but the polka-dots just made it look tacky. Oh well, this was what she had to work with, she'll make the best of it. With a determined nod to herself, she flew towards the spider demoness. She gave Lizzy a hopeful smile, "Team up?" she asked with a slight cant of her head.

She placed eight of the swords on her desk, lined up in a row, and dropped the feathers against them. Who knows what she had planned? "Hmmm.... that sounds acceptable." Malodore studied Riley's form. What were the crucial aspects of Riley that made her... her? At least in appearance. "... You'll need a face. Er, more of a face. And hair."

Riley began sticking feathers carefully to the wooden swords, holding them up to eye them critically, and then continuing with more feathers. She looked pleased at the result. She eyed the other items for a moment, before plucking out a length of white yarn. She began tying the hilts of the swords together in a splayed pattern.
A face, hmm? I've always wanted a face. She teased. Maybe I'll even smile. Who knows?

"I know," Malodore said firmly. "And you do not. It will be a great mystery." The wheels were already turning in the plague doctor's head. A wig, yes. Hmm... it went over to the pile of objects and collected some of the long orange feathers. If it could weave them together, it could make a thoroughly ridiculous wig?
Perhaps that was the answer - get as ridiculous as possible! Nobody would guess that Riley would wear a wig of orange feathers, would they?

Riley glanced at the orange feathers he had begun collecting, and then looked down at her own current project. While it would be ironic if they had thought of the same costume.. she could tell they had not. Still, feathers everywhere!
We'll match. She teased, as she picked up a feather and batted his hat playfully with it. Won't we look dashing.
She picked out a length of pale fur, cut it into two rough diamond shapes, and then began attaching more feathers to it as well.
So, a mystery, is it? She looked down at the feathers she was working with, and in her eyes was a smile. I do so love a good mystery.

Upon looking at the contents on the floor, Astra felt relieved that their task was going to be rather simple. Her antenna twitching, she jumped off her chair and was quick to start pulling out random objects from the pile, and dragging them away.
She wouldn't mind working with someone else, but since she didn't know anyone here she would just let them approach her if the felt like they wanted to partner up. In the meantime, she sorted through he objects she had taken, and began to come up with her costume.
First, she had taken some of the Orange feathers, and began to assemble them so that they looked like some sort of dress. Placing this on, she next went for the giant purple bra and pulled that over her shirt, then replacing her hat with the hunks of pale fur, shuffling it till it looked like the fur was her hair. With the rest of the feathers, she tucked them behind her ear, then at last picked up the Giant sunglasses and put them on.
While the outfit looked....pretty weird, she hoped it would be enough to allow her to pass the class.
((I'm assuming that there is more then one of each item?))

"Tess!" She (belatedly) replied her friend as she looked up at the floating figure, looking rather delighted that the ghoul was in the same class as her. However, she could not help but feel a little sleepy from spacing out a moment ago... Evident from her rather slow reaction. Raising from her seat after the Professor had given the class his instructions, Lizzy hooked onto Tess' arm with her own arm before nodding, smiling as she moved towards the middle of the room, "I would love to!"
She poked at the contents of the box, not quite sure what to do with some of the items, but having plenty of ideas for the rest. Turning to Tess again, she grinned, "Shall we work on costumes for each other~?"

((However many of each item the students need: That's how many there are. Don't stress out about that.

Hmph, he could speak for himself...Sin could verywell afford to purchase whatever fancy costumes or baubles she required. Of course she couldn't verywell say so to the professor so she moved to pick out some items. She glanced in the box mildly annoyed and then picked out the hair pins, giant sunglasses, red polka-dotted cloth, gnarly golden horns, and bloodstained bandages.
She moved over into a darker corner and began to wrap the blood stained bandages around herself tightly. Slowly she slipped her dress off underneath until she was covered neck to foot in the bandages like a mummy...a very curvaceous mummy. She draped her dress carefully over the back of her chair and then started to pul her hair up.
With the steady use of the hair pins she managed to get her hair almost all up into a neat bun before taking the red polka-dotted cloth and tying it over her hair with a matronly knot under her chin. She slipped the golden horns on poking holes through the cloth and then patting her head to make sure everything was in place.
Finally she slipped on the giant sunglasses obscuring half her face and then moved to sit back down feeling quite well disguised, barely any of her tell-tale purple skin was showing. Her eyes were hidden beneath the glasses, and her hair was obscured. The only somewhat telling features were her figure and the black spikes that poked out from her upper arms through the bandages. She glanced around at her fellow students curious to see their disguises. She flashed Gabrian a smile and noticed Christof, hmm hopefully the dark corner she had changed in had been dark enough.
