Shen shrugged, looking upwards at the sky. "I don't really mind getting wet," was all he said, but he stood there and waited for Cheyenne to take the lead. And idle, detached part of his mind wondered if the female was mentally sound though.

Cheyenne shrugged. She was tired, suddenly, and no longer felt like messing with someone who didn't want her around. Of course, she couldn't blame him a bit, it was her fault.

"Well, if you don't want to come nobody is making you." Turning into the trees, she made her way towards that hill without once looking back to see if the night-sky male was following her.

Shen stood there for a moment, debating; follow the extremely odd female for the possibility that he might stay dry, or go off on his own with the possibility that he might get wet but he'd be on his own...

Finally he just shrugged, muttered another of this bits of lazy/negativite, and followed after Cheyenne. Just cause he followed her didn't mean he had to stay with her, after all.

The vixen smiled to herself at the sound of paw steps behind her. She had already made a total fool of herself in one of her emotional moments, and yet he didn't run from her. Well, yet.

It wasn't far, just like Cheyenne had promised. Out of the trees, up a grassy hill, and there. A cluster of trees with perfect protection and perfect view. As the vixen jumped up on a branch and smiled down at Shen, she vowed to change. Unfortunately, this vow was accented with a sudden ka-boom of thunder, startling Cheyenne so she squeaked like a kit and nearly fell off her branch. Claws dug in hard as her face turned red and she scrambled back on top of it.

"Well," She cleared her throat, "Looks like the storms pretty awful close."

Shen just nodded and looked up at the storm. "Yea, looks like it. Wouldn't sit in a tree, by the way, not unless you like getting personal with lightning." Of course there were millions of trees in the forest, so the chances of lightning hitting the one tree Cheyenne was sitting in were slim, but in Shen's experience annoying stuff like that just seemed to happen. A lot.

"Eep!" Chy had forgotten about that. She slipped out of the tree and slipped next to Shen, looking up at the storm as well just as lightning, in a brilliant purple, shot through the ever-darkening clouds.

"So pretty..." The vixen mumbled. She loved storms. They excited her and calmed her, all at once. "Daddy used to tell me that thunder was the angels racing around, paws thundering on the floor of Heaven..."

"I was always told it was heat expanding really fast that made the noise," Shen said, shrugging with an "eh" expression. "My dad tells things how they are, even if you don't wanna hear it. Mom never tried to explain." He would admit the lightning was quite nice though, and as long as he was sitting under cover without actually sitting under cover, it was fun to watch.

The vixen nodded. "Well, yeah, he told me that after I pestered him for the real answer. Daddy never understood why a kit would want to know so much about the world..." Cheyenne smiled up at the storm. It was the first time in a long time she had gotten to watch something so beautiful with someone else, most of the time she was alone. It was nice. Very nice.

Glancing sideways, nose still turned to the sky, she looked over at Shen. He was a strange fox... A no-drama fox, for sure. Most of the time, those foxes annoyed her because she knew first hand that ignoring drama and letting things slide ended with a lot of pent-up anger. Shen... Shen was different. It wasn't that he ignored drama, it was that he just didn't let it get to him. Like... life was too precious to bark about the little things. Chy wished she could be like that... someday...

Shen just hummed lightly under his breath. "I always had people spouting little stuff like that to me all the time. Some of it was interesting, but mostly it was all boring." And that was that. He was perfectly content to sit in companionable silence. Nothing wrong with having someone with you to watch the sky.

Cheyenne smiled and nodded, sensing the talking was over for the time being. That was fine with her, though she kind of had to bite her tongue to keep silent. So much bottled up in her little fox body, it was hard to keep it all in. Somehow she managed...

The storm rolled on, mostly thunder and lightning at first, but then the rain finally came. Without thinking, Chy just stood up and walked out in it, her pelt getting soaked all the way to her skin.

Shen made a questioning hm sound as Cheyenne first moved, and followed her with his eyes as she moved out into the rain. He had no clue what the heck she was thinking, or what she was doing. It was her business though, and he didn't want to pry. But, after a few minutes...

"You're gonna get a cold, standing in that cold water," Shen remarked in an off-hand way. His tone was somewhat neutral, with just a touch of concern coloring the words.

Giggling, Chy turned to look at the male. "I suppose I am..." She let out a small sigh, not meaning anything by it just simply sighing for the sake of sighing, and walked back under the trees. Distancing herself for a second, she gave her fur a hard shake and took her place by Shen again. "It's nice to stand under the rain sometimes, though." Not the feel of it, of course, just... the act of it.

After a few minutes, the cold got to her, especially since her scarf was soaked as well. Cheyenne pulled it off and hung it in a tree, then set about to licking herself dry.

Shen's face was slowly getting more and more......odd. It was like he was at war with himself, and the flat exasperation of his expression was amusing to say the least. Finally he made a tch sound and padded over to Cheyenne to sit next to her, leaning lightly against her to share his warmth..

"Guess it can't be helped. If you stay that cold you'll get sick by the time you're dry." His words were as neutral as ever, but a light blush went across his face. "Don't get any wrong ideas or anything, I'm not trying to make a move."

Chy smiled at the male. "Don't worry, I know. Thank you." It was nice to know he didn't hate her, and the blush on his cheeks kinda threw her a bit, but the vixen just kept licking her fur like nothing was new. Being around Shen was actually helping her a bit, she had a bit of empath to her and picked up on the calmness of him.

Drawing in a deep breath and slowly letting it out, the vixen leaned lightly against Shen. He was warm, and she had dried her coat enough not to spread the moisture or coldness. "Rain should let up soon."

Shen yawned widely. While he was always up for naps, rainy weather in particular made him sleepy. "Yup. Winter storms never last long. Hopefully it's alone." This meaning that while winter storms never did last long, they usually came in chains of storm after storm, one or two a day for several days in a row.

He yawned again. "I'm gonna take a nap," he announced as though to the entire glade in general, and promptly flopped down on the ground and fell right asleep. If Cheyenne wanted to stick around that was fine, long as she just let a fellow get in a few winks.
