Mel nodded again; she didn't want to be caught again, as it had been extremely close.
(Well....there I was, on the comp....And my dad played this song on his computer...
For the life of me
I cannot believe

Adrian studied her for a moment, and was about to speak up when Shadow jumped up and hid in the closet. "Uh, hold on, the twins are coming!" He warned right before the barged in. "Adrian! Will you fix my hair? Ellie wont, and Ellen is talking to her boyfriend," Kerry made a face, "And Mommy said to ask you." Kieren jumped in, "Please? We want to play!" Adrian sighed, "What do you want done?" "I want braids!" squealed Kerry, happy to have someone pay attention to her. She sat down on is bed and waited while he quickly braided her hair into two braids, and looped them up to look like dog ears. "Yay! Thanks!" and then the Twins were gone. Adrian locked his door and came back to the window. "Sorry about that." Shadow slowly came back out and climbed up onto Adrians lap.

Mel sighed. "I wish I had a family like yours. It sounds like you get annoyed, but at least they're happy. Not mine. The air of my house is full of misery and despair."

"They're mostly happy, but thats because they dont know. Theres no love here. We might as well be strangers. But I dont know. Ive never been able to get out, maybe this is what most house holds are like." Adrian sighed. This was the first time he had shown how frustrated he was with his isolated life. "Im sorry... I just... Yeah, I could see why you would rather come here..."

Mel's finger, which had continued to twirl her hair during the silence, froze. "What?" she asked, not sure she'd heard correctly.

"My parents dont have to know. And we could sneak you over for however long we can. If I send my Mother, Elizabeth, and Ellen you have at least ten minutes. They can talk and talk and talk. You would probably have longer if we some how managed to get them to like each other..." Adrian said.
