She wasn't acting like herself. Nyx was more determined then this! Mau watched as she turned to leave, then handed the man another dollar. He eyed the bottles and threw. The sound of the three bottles cascading down made the carny cringe. "Set them back up." Mau instructed. "I have two more throws." It wasn't exactly a request. It sounded more like a threat. With the bottles stacked a second time, Mau took aim, again, the bottles tumbled down.

What, who was winning at the bottles game? Nyx turned back around, only to watch Mau knock down all of the bottles. He was pretty good at that. She walked back over and watched. "Do they have a berry plant you want?"

"No." Mau said as the carny looked a little nervous around Mau. Mau looked at Nyx with a faint smile. "You looked like you really wanted something... but you gave up to easily. So..." He shrugged. "How about you pick what you want."

She smiled the biggest smile and pointed at the plush ball of screws and magnets that was almost as big as she was. "Thank you." It was better than any stuffed teddiursa. Now she was 99.9% sure that Mau wasn't actually out for her blood. If he did were, he wouldn't have been so sweet and won her a souvenir for their date- er. Not a date. Drat... why were her ears so warm?
"...Are you hungry?"

Mau smiled at how happy she looked when she got the plush. Maybe this wasn't going to be too bad of a date. He glanced to the side, his features softening some. Hungry... yeah... that's right. The sudden heavy knot in his stomach was because he hadn't eaten anything since the cake this morning.
"Yeah, I am. So what artery clogging fat factory should we hit up first?"

"What do you think of funnel cakes and deep fried snickies?" Nyx peeked around the side of her stuffed pokemon, making sure she wouldn't run into anyone, and looking at the various food stands. It seemed like they'd be continuing the trend of sugary confections started that morning. Nyx seemed to have calmed down considerably since the bottle game and looked to be having a nice time now, especially compared to how she was in the parking garage when the scientist had lost control of the volume of her voice.

Deep fried... ok, he wasn't quite sure what to make of that. That sounded like a heart attack waiting to happen. Funnel cakes were good though, but deep fried snickies was something he'd never had before. "Eh, I'm feeling adventurous. Let's go for some snickies. Maybe get some corndogs for what passes as protein. Don't want to run on pure sugar." At least, Mau didn't want to run on pure sugar.

Nyx managed to maneuver through the crowd and into a line for the deep fried sweet treat. The end products looked like a corn dog, but the insides were not tubes of various meats, but chocolate and caramel.
"Alright, we'll die after we eat these, but it'll be worth it." Nyx grinned and handed Mau his frozen and fried Snickie once the carny handed them over.

"There better not be a hair in this." He teased before hesitantly taking a bite of the fried sugar coma. Well, it wasn't that bad. Actually, it was pretty good. But can you really argue with sugar fried sugar with chocolate? "To our death" It was like a toast... almost.
Now that they had food in them, it was time to go on another fast ride, right? Something like the vomit comet? Surely there was a decent 'Don't eat before entering' ride around here.

"Oh! Lets go on the Octillery!" Nyx pointed at a ride not far off in the distance, the one with the large metal 'legs' arched and tipped with a swiveling cage, all decorated with bright lights and an octillery headed balloon in the center. It looked like a great ride not to go on after you'd eaten.

Mau grinned almost sadistically. "Perfect." It was. It was almost too perfect. A ride to make you throw up the sweet goodness you just ate. the line length was to be expected, really. Not horribly long, but not quite short either. It gave them time to finish their sugar sticks before they got on the ride and were fixed into one of the cages at the end of the tentacles.

Nyx seemed to bounce up through the line, the Octillery seemed like the most fun that she could have at that moment. Swinging, forward and backwards momentum, all while the arms raised and lowered the baskets? It every movement her sugar fueled body needed to experience. "Eeeeee..." She grinned at Mau, continuously squealing until they were buckled into the cage.
Everything was fine and exciting when the ride started. It rose and fell slowly at first, and then the cage started to rock back and forth, and the tentacles went round and round faster and faster until the cages did a complete loop. By the time it was done, Nyx was green. Eating a fried bar of fat and sugar had been a poor choice, it seemed.
"Move!" Nyx yelled and pushed her way past Mau and out of the ride, all the way to a trash can. She haunched over the foul container and lost all of the food she'd just eaten.

Spinning, the whole world was spinning and tilting and swirling. Rising and falling dipping and moving in a glorious almost drunken way, without the aftertaste of cheep booze and the fear of a hangover.
But the ride came to an end. And as Mau was getting his bearings, a white-haired blur pushed past him, shouting for him to move. He staggered out of the cage, plush magnemite in hand and wandered over to where Nyx was becoming acquainted with the garbage.
He sighed and gently rubbed her back, looking away. Well, at least this was entertaining. Vaguely.

Nyx moaned and righted herself. That was lovely, every guy wanted to watch his date... coworker throw up. "Uh... excuse me..." She pointed at the restroom not far off, and walked off for it, to clean up and make sure she wasn't all gross.
"Way to go, Nicole." Nyx grumbled at herself in the bathroom mirror. Why was she embarrassed? It was just Mau. They worked together and saw things way more gross and terrible than someone having a queasy stomach. Once she was sure she was cleaned up, she went back out to find Mau.

When she was safely out of earshot, Mau covered his mouth and chuckled. That was funnier then it should have been. Not that he'd ever tell her. He quickly removed himself from the vicinity of the trashcan who had goodness knows how many people's lost lunches contained within.
And yet he was somewhat worried about Nyx- despite how amusing it was that she got sick from a ride of her own choosing. Maybe Nyx was trying to kill herself. Would she be including this in her 'notes?'
He waited not far from the restrooms for Nyx.
