Airashi shook out his fur as he walked onto the shore, then tilted his head toward the kit and smiled softly. He'd just finish off whatever Tamo didn't eat. He was used to going a least a couple days without eating, so it wouldn't do him any harm. But growing kits like Tamo needed to eat every day.
"Eat as much as you like."

Tamo had cleared away scales and flesh to reveal bone, slowly clearing away half the fish. A few scales clung to the fur around his face and glittered in the sunlight. He stepped back from the fish, swiping at his face a bit in an attempt to clean it.
"Thanks Airashi! I shouldn't need much more for the rest of today. I can maybe find some late nuts or berries," he mused, wondering if luck would be good to him in that respect. Sometimes he found caches squirrels stored for the winter, but he always made sure to leave enough behind so he wouldn't be the cause of a creature starving to death.

"Your welcome Tamo...." Airashi laid down in front of the fish and started to nibble on the half eaten one. He had learned long ago that you wanted to eat fish, and other small creatures, slowly so that you didn't end up chocking on any bones.
Therefore he took his time in eating the delectable fish, some of the best he'd had in some time. He stripped the fish till it was nothing but bone, then turned his attention to the other fish.

Tamo finished grooming his fur while he waited for Airashi to finish his meal, trotting over to the lake to get a drink and wash down the fish. Unlike most kits, or even most foxes, Tamo didn't need to chatter to be content in a moment. Company just for the sake of company was plently enough for him, and he didn't like pressuring others into making conversation.

Airashi finished off the one fish, and decided that maybe he would save the other in case he became hungry later. Licking his lips he turned his head toward the pool of water and though the kit had a goo idea.
Standing, he walked over to the edge and started to lap up the water eagerly. Once he has slatted his thirst he pivoted on his heel and walked back to the mossy ground he'd been laying on and grabbed the fish in his teeth then looked back at Tamo and inclined his head toward the forest. A sign for the kit to follow him.

Tamo stood, satisfied he'd gotten the scales out of his fur and that it was lying a lot flater than it had been after shaking all the water out earlier. He bounded after Airashi. "We goin' anywhere in particular," he asked, sticking to yes and no questions so Airashi wouldn't have to actually speak to answer.

Aira nodded his head as he wove in and out of trees. They were approaching the end of the forest, and not far beyond that was a group of caves that they would camp in for the night.
He knew that the area was secure, mostly because the entrance to the caves was barely big enough to fit an adult fox. He grimaced slightly, hoping that he hadn't gained too much weight and would still be able to fit inside.
Half a minute later the trees started to thin out, and Aira used his paw and pointed to the far off rock structures to indicate that this is where they were heading.

Tamo nodded and continued trotting along next to Airashi. Unbeknownst to the adult male, the kit had stumbled, quite literally, over a few walnuts that had fallen to the forest floor and had been overlooked by squirrels and others animals. He tried to pick up as many as he could while still keeping up.
It was kind of comical, actually. One walnut took up his entire mouth. His tail was barely holding on to two walnuts. But hey, waste not want not! They were tough for Tamo to open himself, but he bet Airashi could help him crack open the shells.

They made it to the caves without any incidents, and Airashi stopped at the entracne to the cave and stared at the opening.
"Mm...." The opening was even smaller then her remembered, but he thought he might be able to squeeze through if he tried. Tamo could make it through without a problem though he was sure. "Come...." He mumbled with the fish in his mouth, then attempted to force his way through the entrance.
Halfway through he nearly panicked when he thought he was stuck, but a wiggle of his hips and he finally fell through on the other side. He caught himself before falling on his face, then set the fish on the ground and curled up on a nice patch of moss that was growing on a rock. All over the cave floor there were dozens of rocks covered in moss, along with a patch on the ground.

Tamo had no trouble getting into the cave, slithering around the crevices in the rocks. He set his walnuts down, the clinks of shell against stone echoing quiet agreeably, and looked around the space. Wasn't half bad as a sleeping spot or shelter from rain, though the opening looked a bit small.
He hoped Airashi didn't get stuck trying to get out!

Aira looked over as he heard the clank of the walnuts on the cave floor, "Where did you find those?" He eyed the nuts surprised. He didn't remember seeing the fox stop to pick up anything, not that he minded.
He figured the little guy might get hungry again.
"May i?" He reached over with a paw intending to smash one open.

Tamo nodded and stood back. "I like 'em, but they're hard for me to get open with me bein' so little and all." He prefered cracking into pecans or almonds, but nut trees in generally were scare. They tended to grow in tiny groves of maybe 10 trees, and were hard to find in vast forests.
While Airashi turned his attention to the nuts, Tamo scuttled back out of the cave to see if he could find more. The tree was close to the entrance, so he didn't have to worry about getting lost.

Aira looked at Tamo as he disappeared outside the cave. He knew that the kit would be alright, he had survived thus far on his own so there was no major reason to worry.
Buying his time until the kit returned, Aira spent his time crushing the nuts so that they could eat them when he returned.

Turned out there was several more nuts under the tree. Tamo guessed squirrels hadn't gotten to them because the nearby cave smelt like predator or something. Or maybe they just didn't know they were here, it wasn't like squirrels knew the entire forest simply because they lived in the trees.
Fortunately there were plently of fallen pine boughs on the ground, which would make for better transportation than his mouth and tail. Tamo was able to load seven more nuts onto the bough and began to slowly drag it back so they wouldn't fall off. He could probably make a few more trips, but he doubted that he and Airashi needed to eat all the nuts under the tree!

"Hm....." The kit had been gone quite awhile and he was starting to worry that something might have happened to him. Though he was dreading having to push himself through the tiny opening again, he was prepared to do it in order to find Tamo.
But as he stuck his head out the cave entrance he spotted the orange kit on his way back to the cave.
"What is he dragging?" He voiced to no one in particular.
