Dante circled back to the shore, landing just far enough from the water to ensure he would stay dry for the time being. There was enough to worry about with these two running amuck without worrying about getting his feathers wet too. When the scaley mare charged him he widened his stance and turned to face her head on.
"You're an ugly one, now arn't you," he muttered. Around him the air was heating up. The water around him was beggining to steam and what little plant life there was at his feet was beggining to wilt and char.

Ugly? She wasn't ******** ugly! She was so tired of everyone thinking they were better than her. Unnr screeched furiously at him. How dare he! How dare he! She didn't care that he was an angeni and far larger than her. She'd tear him limb from limb too!
Ravyn struggled to get to her feet. She was bruised and bleeding, and her wing was dragging. She gritted her teeth against the pain and hoisted herself up as best as she could. She had to get away from there while they were distracted. She couldn't fly, so she had to run. Dragging her wing. She closed her eyes. Her poor wing...

Dante nearly laughed at the slimey female's screech. So he'd hit a nerve! Too bad for princess Theradras over there. He was only speaking the truth after all.
Whatever force it was that was heating the air around him reached a breaking point and for a breif moment his entirebody burst into flame. The fire raced forward whipping out toward the lizard.
The deafening crack that accompanied it made Anzu flinch, but also pulled his attention back to the fight, "UNNR!"

Unnr didn't know what hit her. It was stifling hot, and blinding bright. She forgot all about the fight, about the mare and about the angeni. Everything was too hot, too bright. It went piercing white and she stumbled, loosing conciousness.
Ravyn had gotten to her feet. She started toward the bank, dragging her wing along side her. When everything got bright, she just closed her eyes tight and kept going. She couldn't afford to stop.

Anzu rushed forward. At first he'd intended to attack the angeni... but when the light flashed be was forced to stop, and when he saw Unnr had fallen he ran to her side, putting himself between her and the angeni. He was no coward, but that was his Unnr laying there unmoving.
Dante didn't press the issue. So long as they wouldn't give chase he didn't give a damn what they did. He turned and approached the grey female intending to help her.

Once on shore, Ravyn ran. Her wing bumped along beside her, but she had no other choice. She just gritted against the pain and kept going. She noticed the big angeni heading towards her and her first instinct was that he was apart of this and she was doomed. In her pain filled haze, it took her a few moments to realize that she knew him. She didn't say anything. She had to focus her energy on running.
Unnr didn't move. More than just stunned, she lay there, oblivious that they were getting away, oblivious that Anzu was there.

Dante approached her causiously, "Hey there," he murmured. "Hey, girl..." what was her name again?
He made sure he was on her good side and then spread his wings over her. "Come on now, lean on me and we'll get you out of here."
What the hell had those two been after? This mare wasn't a threat at all...

She hated depending on anyone, but in this case, she knew she had to. She leaned against the large body of the Angeni, trying to keep her whimpers to herself. She closed her eyes and just let him guide her. She put her faith in him.

"They will pay for what they have done to my Unnr," he growled. "Follow them. Report back to me once they have relaxed and no longer expect an attack. Go!"

"Good," Dante sighed. This wasn't a good sign. She seemed to be barely holding on. "Okay. Ravyn, I'm going to sing to you. You keep your focus on my voice and you keep moving forward, hear me?"
The more distance they could put between themselves and the lake the better. He was strong, but carrying her was out of the question.

Ravyn opened her eyes for just a second so she could glance up at him. Her name? Her eyelids fluttered as she tried to focus. "My name.... Ravyn. Ravyn." She couldn't remember his name either. She couldn't remember much now.
An odd coloured crow left the murder and slowly made its way down toward the raven lord, its master. It landed on the ground and turned its beady eyes on Anzu. "Yes Master?"

They hadn't been walking for long at all when Dante came across the entrance to a small cave. He wasn unsure as he could possibly be but he didn't have much of a choice. His singing was only doing so much and couldn't possibly anchor her here forever. He could take a chance that this cave wasn't far enough and let her rest or keep going and take a chance that she might collapse before they found another hiding spot.
"Ravyn, we're going in here. Come on. Just a few more steps."

The crow tilted his head at Anzu, unblinking eyes moving from him to the fallen Unnr. He gave a nod and croaked his consent before extending his wings and taking off into the air again. He would find them and he would do what his master wanted.
She opened her eyes again, doing her best to focus on him. "Okay," she mumbled, licking her lips. "Okay. Okay." The pain in her wing was excruciating. Every bump, every rock and root along the way caused her so much pain. Her head was swimming, but she would try her best.

She stumbled. The cave really was the best option now. She lifted her heavy head to look at what he was talking about. Her vision was blurry and it kind of swam in front of her. She just gave a nod. There wasn't much else she could do. She just had to rely on him, and trust that he was making the best decision for her.
"O...kay."
