Dakota felt the kiss, and stirred. Yawned and stretched. He looked over toward Dion, and offered him a soft smile.
"I kind of fell asleep on you... I'm sorry about that."
He reached up to adjust his sweater, gave Dion a quiet hug, and buried his head in the man's chest. "I'm scared about this.. I don't know how to be a dad... I don't... Will you do the talking?"

He wrapped his arms around the kid's shoulders and hugged him lightly. "I'll do all the talking I can," he whispered into his hair. And he would live up to that promise. He would definitely talk all he could. He patted Dakota's back and climbed out of the van and moved to the door.
However, instead of knocking or what not, the man went right on in, closing the door behind Dakota and looked around. "Hello?"

At the desk was Apoxi Blighto, who seemed a little surprised at the state of the pair, but said nothing as she was sure she'd been in some pretty surprising situations too in herlife. "Hello there! Who might you two be?"

Dakota's shy nature took hold the minute the woman spoke to him, and he rapidly hid behind Dion. Not quite sure just what to expect. Then again, he HAD asked the older man to do the talking, and sort of... inched around him to the other side so he could peek out and around the place... It was... a bit overwhelming to say the least. And his voice was kind of lost along the way.

"Dion and Dakota. We got letters in the mail yesterday saying we were approved to adopt?" He held his hand out to shake the girl's own and arched a bow. After the handshake, Dion looked back to Dakota and snorted, tugging him out from behind him. "Come on , 'Kota."

The 'girl' was actually in her mid-twenties but unbelievably childlike in features and short. She grinned brightly and shook Dion's hand before speaking. "Sure sure. Any idea what kind of kid - or kids - you two would like?"

Despite his whole policy on letting Dion do the talking, Dakota DID actually speak up on this one. He gave the woman a shy wave and a kind smile.
"I think... I know at least -I- would like... I mean... I think we both would, but... A kid... or kids... that NEED someone.. Like... they've been here for a while, or they just need... dads..."
He finished the sentence lamely, very well realizing he'd just likely described every kid in the place. Ducking behind Dion again, he blushed hard.
"That was stupid..." he said, mostly to himself.

Dion was surprised when Dakota spoke up, but rolled his eyes and bit back a smile at how fumbly he was. "Twins, I think. After that, I'm not sure. Boys, to fit in with the rest of us."

"Well, we make a policy of trying to get kids homes as soon as possible, so most haven't been here for very long. But I'll see what I can find in the system." Apoxi informed them before turning to type something on the computer that had newly been added to the front desk.
"Do you guys have any objections to children with certain special needs? Such as requiring help getting in and out of places?"
