Kasen raised his blade as he jabbed his blade into the snake's mouth as he really liked his head. Kasen groaned a bit as he retracted his blade a bit as he released the stars on his blade to attack Hinata while he was occupied with the snake in front of him. "You're annoying..." Kasen hissed as his the Kaji blade in his hand at the moment was flaring as he had not much choice but to attack it head on. He motioned his blade so the Dākusutā would occupy the jagged beast's mouth as he motioned his blade in a horizontal slash as it released a flaming wave of reiatsu to slice the beast's head away.

(( Just asking - how do you want this battle to end? Kasen has acquired a new technique, so is he going to use it to corner Hinata and get a blade across her neck? 'Cause if you want, I can make it easier for you, just so this RP doesn't go on for a gazillion pages xD ))
Hinata released a wave of crystals from her Zanpaktou which pinned each of the throwing stars Kasen had released to the ground. She quickly returned her attention to her snake - only to find that Kasen had rammed his sword between its fangs and was currently firing a slash of fire to disable it. Her crystals shattered from the point-blank range attack. For a fraction of a second, they fell limp, then shot away from Kasen to hover uncertainly around their caster's head.
She scrutinised her opponent with blank eyes. Deciding it was best for her to go on the defensive and let Kasen use his power to full effect, she backed away until there was a few metres space between them.
"Your move, Kasen."

(Let's continue for another page at least.)
Kasen grinned as the snake shattered as he looked upon Hinata realizing it was his turn to be on the offense. "Hinata, do you know what one of my strengths are with my zanpakuto?" Kasen asked blankly as his zanpakuto's dark blade returned as he snapped the two blades together making the stars shift their position to around the center like a tailed-chain once more. Kasen took four of the stars as they began dissolving into a foggy black reishi mist until they started reforming into a new shape that seemed familiar, Kaosuyu, the chaos dark arrow. "My zanpakuto allows me to access the elements of darkness and fire from her, and those elements are recyclable as each of my techniques can be used into another." Kasen said as he grabbed a Dākusutā and took the Kaosuyu as he placed the star into the arrow as the star dissolved for a moment until the star was at the center of the arrow's shaft.
"You're not the only one who can get creative with their abilities." Kasen said as he placed the arrow at the center of his blade as he pulled the invisible string on his blade as the arrow fired towards Hinata. The arrow spun as the star now attached to it gave it rotational force as the combination was to combine the arrow's explosive force with the star's agility and speed.
(This isn't a new technique, its just the arrow combined with the star, it only changes its speed and explosion shape.)

"Hey, if I had known that you were a creative sort of person, I would have included you in my flower-arranging classes ages ago," Hinata joked, eyeing the revolving arrow which now had a star attached to it. Kasen, however, focused on attacking, and she promptly found herself being assaulted with his new arrow-star creation. Jabbing her finger forwards, she swiftly directed her crystals to form an arrow-like shape also, and shoot towards Kasen's arrow - just to see what would happen.
With the force of a bomb, the star exploded, and tendrils of dark fire shot outwards to sear Hinata's arms through her haori.
It's in times like these that I wish I had kept the sleeves on my Kosode... she thought, examining a burnt wrist. Luckily, the burns were light and no lasting damage had been done - she doubted whether she would have to go to the Fourth Division for such trivial wounds.
Meanwhile, the crystal arrow that she had created carried on, revolving like a drill towards Kasen's head.

Kasen watched as Hinata mimicked her own arrow creation as they both clashed as the explosion came out rotating the flames a bit as Kasen spun his blade around as he noticed a small opening. "What is-" Kasen didn't finish his sentence as he raised his blade as he tried blocking the blade as the crystal arrow as it brought his blade back a bit as he deflected it, however it flew upwards a bit as it dropped in his shoulder. Digging it out of his shoulder, Kasen threw it aside as he stabbed it with his blade's tip as it glowed brighter/darker with each passing moment.
"Let's see if you can take this.." Kasen said as he recreated the stars, draining a bit more of his energy, Kasen slashed as the chain of stars unraveled themselves for a moment as the stars combined with a Kaosu Kaji Nami No Sasori to unleash an odd tidal wave of dark flames and Dākusutā coming towards Hinata.

Not wishing to be consumed by Kasen’s wave of dark flames, Hinata quickly dematerialised the arrow that she had been using, and shifted into a defensive stance. Holding out her hands, she rapidly formed a glimmering crystal scythe between them, then forced a concentrated amount of her own spiritual energy into the scythe’s blade. Now, holding the handle in both hands, she swung it in an almighty arc at the oncoming fire. The Reiryoku in the blade sheared the wave in two. One half was reflected back to Kasen, and she was forced to duck as the other half whooshed past her, though not without burning the loose ends of her Haori to a crisp.
These things need to be made of more durable material…
Deciding to play the traditional image of a “death god”, Hinata flash-stepped behind her opponent, then, using her newly made scythe, took a great cut at his neck from a few metres away. She followed this with a range of slashes. On the last slash, she made to cut vertically from Kasen’s head down – but instead, the scythe disintegrated, and from her hands poured wave after wave of crystals, all reaching over Kasen’s head and consuming him in a dome of crystal.

Kasen slashed at the flames as they split to the sides as he looked at Hinata to see a glimpse of her weapon. "A scythe? That weapon of death?" Kasen thought as he realized something was odd, she vanished as he felt her presence behind her as he felt scared for a moment as he jumped forward as he turned a bit as the back of his neck cut open. Blood spilled out a bit as Kasen raised his blade to protect himself from the scythe's slashes as he disliked this medium-range weapon. Kasen raised his blade horizontally as he thought he was going to halt the attack coming for his head as he realized something was wrong, the dome was returning to capture him as he tried to shunpo away until he realized he was trapped.
"Hinata! You can't keep putting me in here!" Kasen shouted as his zanpakuto began to release more reiatsu as his blades began to release a figure of sorts in the center as Kasen growled a bit as he was going to attempt to escape the accursed dome as he knew patience was the key to escaping the dome.

"Kukukukuku..." Hinata heard Kasen's shout of exasperation and just loved how evilly repetitive and unimaginative her tactics were. She rather thought that, having taken Harikaze's power into herself, she also gained some of her Zanpaktou's sadistic personality. Bending, she flash-stepped to the top of the dome and peered in through the crystal to see Kasen readying himself for escape.
"Mwahahaha... let's see how you handle this," said the female shinigami mischievously, raising her hands to imitate the dome shape, then clapping them together.
At once, the crystals beneath her feet shifted. The dome was growing smaller and smaller... but none of the crystals were disappearing. Instead, they had grown into spikes which lined the inside of the dome and grew larger as the dome itself shrinked, all heading towards Kasen.

Kasen looked around as the dome began to close in as if it was a spiked trap area, the crystals were coming at him as he decided he wasn't going to let this continue. "Howl...." Kasen muttered as he raised his blade above his head as the dark flames ignited once more, but they were calmer as they began to take form and shape. "I refuse to die like this, if you think I will, then you're wrong!" Kasen shouted as the black flames created the shape of a wolf's head as it peered out and growled. "Kaosu Ookami!" Kasen shouted as he aimed upwards as the the beast opened its mouth to reveal a fully created black flame arrow inside with a star attached. "The speed and power of my wolf is enhanced, not only will it pierce the target, it will spread out...Hopefully it will shatter.."
Kasen putting his hopes in this attack, fired the wolf into the center of the roof of the dome as Kasen as he drained more of his reiryoku into a final flaming wave as he used the last wave as a thruster for the wolf as Kasen collapsed onto his knees as he was almost out of energy, he only had enough for one full set of stars or arrows.

For a moment, everything inside the dome went black.
Then Hinata became aware of an ominous cracking sound beneath her feet. The surface of the crystal dome was no longer smooth - faults were appearing everywhere and growing by the minute; the dark fire within straining against its restraints to burst out. And that it did. No sooner had she leapt upwards than a huge tongue of dark fire had shattered the crystal, exploding outwards to wrap itself around the Captain, who flash-stepped away just in time. Her arm seared, but, undeterred, she raised her hands, gathering the fragmented remains of her dome underneath her and creating a swirling vortex of wind and crystal which dispelled the flames.
Whilst safe behind the whirlwind, she quickly checked her body for major injuries. Thankfully, being highly proficient in Shunpo (... and shamelessly lacking in modesty), she had escaped all damage apart from a bleeding gash across her right arm, where the flame had lashed out at her. Due to her Zanpaktou's power, and the concentrated Reiryoku in her arms, the wound was clotting itself already.
Hinata directed the whirlwind to die down so as to get a good look at what Kasen was doing. He appeared to have fallen to his knees, exhausted. She could sense that his Reiatsu had been weakened considerably from the start of the battle. Approaching him cautiously, she addressed her trainee.
"Are we... finished?"

"Mada... Hinata...I still have one last trick.." Kasen muttered as he began to gather the last of his energy into his right arm as his blade ignited once more as the black flames grew large as it expanded around the blade. "We will finish this..." Kasen muttered as the flames expanded further as it crawled onto his arm as it surrounded it, however it was not burning him as it was a few inches away from his arm. "Let me show you why I am proud to be known as the Black Flame Wolf..." Kasen said as the flames grew to his shoulder as he stood up as he used shunpo to move back as this was all he could must up for now.
"Come at me! Give me your best shot! Let's finish this Hinata, you and those crystals will always one day learn that these black flames will never extinguish and we will shatter them as you look upon them." Kasen was staring at Hinata with dark cold eyes as he was not going to go out with nothing, he was willing to give all he had left to finish this battle.

"Ha. Never going to give up, are you? Well, if you insist, so be it."
With this statement, Hinata's Reiatsu soared. Before, she had been treating this as a training session, and she made a point never to use her full power against her subordinates in order not to harm them. However, she recognised the grim determination in Kasen's eyes, and now decided to draw from the large well of Reiryoku stored within her, in order to face Kasen, if only for a few minutes, at a Captain's power level.
This may be the last chance I get to fight Kasen as his Captain before I have to disappear... Hinata thought with a touch of melancholy. Let's make it memorable, hmm? From the depths of her mind, Harikaze nodded a silent consent.
Spreading her arms wide, the shinigami conjured up a vast quantity of crystals, fortifying each and every one of them with her own concentrated Reiryoku. This time, though, they did not appear in the air in front of her; rather, they grew from her own limbs as if they were a part of her own body, and formed a shimmering crystal structure, which continued forming. A head, fangs, tail, spines... its wings were her wings, its eyes her eyes, and at last, the fangs bared in a soundless snarl to match her own ferocity.
The crystal dragon bent, Hinata still encased within its chest, and dived at Kasen. In one swoop, it had surrounded Kasen with its vast wings. One lethal talon made to pin him down to the ground by the chest, while the neck bent over like a crane, until its jaws were just above Kasen’s head, fangs poised to strike. A glint of malice seemed to flash momentarily in its sightless eyes; then, with a deadly finality, it snapped.
(( Snapped as in, it snapped its jaws together, just in case my writing is unclear.
Oh and, the crystal isn’t supposed to be unbreakable - I thought that it would be cool if Kasen pulled off an awesome technique and shattered the whole dragon (just so you know Hinata’s not intending to kill him off by this dramatic move xD) ))

"Aku Ookami!" Kasen roared as the black flames grew into the shape of a the familiar wolf as Kasen raised his fist to the dragon as this was the final clash he could afford to make as the howling sound of the beast as he punched upwards to release the wolf into the mouth of the dragon. "Boom..." Kasen muttered with a mad grin on his face as the wolf howled into the sky as it became an explosion as it engulfed everyone in its blast radius, including Kasen as he wasn't going to see if he pulled it off or not as he began falling to the ground. "I can't win, I've lost..." Kasen thought to himself as his eyes closed before he collapsed to the ground as he wasn't able to stand much longer as he was out of energy, his reserves were used up.

Hinata could make out Kasen's determined face from beyond the screen of crystal. His mouth uttered one, final word.
"Boom."
Instantly, everything around her went black. Her senses did not need to be fine to pick up the enormous explosion of energy that had radiated out from Kasen at that moment. Seeing that her own body was far more precious than the crystal dragon, she withdrew the extra Reiryoku strengthening the dragon back to protect herself.
The dragon shattered from the point of impact. Small cracks grew from its jaws like a million interlaced spider webs, until its whole surface was covered. For a millionth of a second, it seemed like the structure would hold - but, with the lack of Reiryoku protecting it any further, it fragmented into millions of pieces which fell as tiny, crystal rain droplets on the burning ground.
Hinata herself was crouched on the ground, having dropped from the massive height and bent her knees on impact to lessen the shock. Little by little, she rose and her eyes returned to their natural yellow-green. She became aware that Kasen had fallen to the ground before her, depleted of energy, and approached him tentatively.
"Haha... who would have thought that you could break a structure that large with your flame? You did well, Kasen-san," she said, smiling a little at his motionless figure. She sighed. "Unfortunately, I'm afraid that's the last real battle we'll be having for a long while... ah well. Best not to dwell on it." And, raising her Zanpaktou like a conductor's baton, she made a sweeping motion which collected the fragments of crystal littered around the arena, and ordered them to gently lift her 3rd Seat as if on a stretcher, which she accompanied all the way to the Fourth Division.
[EXIT]
(( What an epic battle~! I quite enjoyed it, actually. There ya go, you got yourself your new technique! ))
