I like them both for very different reasons, so it's hard to compare the two.

Dir en grey because.....they are my first J-rock band ever and I only heard one MM song

Aside: I admire Mana for trying to keep on after losing *coughfiringcough* Gackt (his bringer-of-fame-and-money~) and the death of Kami...but I guess I could also say he's a jerk for not knowing when to quit.

Hm...if I could though:

Kyo vs. Tetsu - Kyo all the way. I have an extreme distaste for Tetsu.

Kyo vs. Gackt - Uhh...draw. I still can't decide >_<

Kyo vs. Klaha - Kyo. Klaha is...dunno how I should say this...not significant enough? It's sad but I've always thought of it as 'Malice Mizer with Klaha' as opposed to just 'Malice Mizer'. 'Significant' isn't the right word but I can't think of another one...

Kaoru vs. Mana - ...both! (At the same time~! Kidding....)

Die vs. Kozi - Attack of the redness! Somehow I think Die wins this one. *shrug* Don't ask why. I just do. ("Spider in the brain!" vs. "I'm a ******** rockstar, b***h!"...perhaps that's why.)

Toshiya vs. YuKi - They never turned YuKi's bass up enough...but he was still pretty good. Somehow I favor Totchi though...it's not something I can help... >w<

Shinya vs. Kami - Kami was cool...and...manly...and now he's dead...He looks better than Shinya when they've got no shirts on (it's the manliness vibes he exudes). But Shinya is...Shinya. Enough said...Whatever. I like them both!

So I guess I can conclude that I like Dir en grey better, but only by a little. Malice Mizer was my first big JRock obsession (With my first ever one being Madeth Gray'll. Whoo indies!) and then it was Dir en grey, but Malice disbanded a while ago and I have more Diru songs...

The two bands have practically nothing in common. I can't compare them and say who I like better when the only thing in common would be a visual past.
I don't see how you can really compare their guitarists either, because their styles were nothing alike. I can understand maybe a Lida/Die comparison, but Die/Kozi is just way too different in style.
Diru is more rock, and Mizer is... whatever it is they want to classify themselves as, because I still can't tell what to really define them as.
I like them both for different reasons.

My winner would have to be....Dir en Grey.
Malice Mizer is good, but i only like about a half of their songs, gardenia being my fav.

With Dir en Grey, Every song is amazing.

I could never pick between the two, they're two different bands for two

different mindsets they're hard to mix.


While i listen to dir en grey more and i like more of their songs Malice

Mizer will always hold a special place in my heart.


Sides they just have .. something that dir en grey doesnt im not quite sure

what it is.. its like a certain feeling to their music who knows >.>;;

i find it hard to compare Malice Mizer and Dir En Grey because their music represents to entirely different parts if human emotion and their musical style is so different. I love them both so much and it's so sad that I'll never have the chance to see Malice Mizer play together crying
