Kaze blinked at Arian startled - that had been a bit sudden, especially as Arian knew that Kori wasn't exactly fond of people - which is probably why they never seemed to get any mail.. Well that or Mitsukune had terrorised the postmen. In response to Tayne's answer she said "Well, I personally don't have a problem with it but I'll have to talk to Kori about it. He probably won't care as long as you come when he's not around though." She smiled appologetically "He really isn't a people person. I'll give you our address anyway - just in case."
Arian looked crestfallen as he heard Kaze's answer - he'd forgotten about Uncle Kori - he was mean enough though that he'd probably say no just to be mean. Sometimes he wished it was just him and Mummy because things would be easier - no mean, no fun Uncle Kori.
"If Uncle Kori says no, we can always meet in the park" Arian said, less happily than before as he was sure Uncle Kori was going to say no. "I hope you can come though since I could show you my tree then - it's really pretty."

"I had a feeling you would say that" she said with a small smile. "I wouldn't want to make Kori angry with a surprise visit. It's all right though, no harm, no foul." She looked over to Arian again.
"A tree? What makes it different then the ones here?" she asked kindly, trying to make convorsation.

Arian perked up a little at the mention of his tree "It's about this small" he used his hands to show Tayne. "But it's a real tree and it floats! And it has little butterflies too - it's really pretty. It's called a Star Vine."
Kaze nodded "Though I doubt he'd be angry per se, he rarely gets really angry. No it's more that he can be rude and I rather he wasn't rude to you." She smiled ruefully and then fished a cookie out of her bag of cookies and offered half of the cookie to Arian before offering Tayne the bag again. "Would you like another cookie?"

Tayne smiled and reached into the bag again, nimbly fishing out another cookie.
"Of course. One can never have just one cookie." She then peer back at Arian. The boy had a vivid imagination. First people coming out of lanterns, now a floating tree.
But of course it didn't explain how Kaze's ears receded to a point.
Tayne shrugged off the inconsistencies. There must be a logical explaination for that. There is always one.
She was just enjoying her cookie to much to want to figure.

Arian nodded gleefully "True," he gave the bag a wistful look. "I just wish Mummy would let me have more of them, but she says too many are bad for you."
Kaze laughed, "Too much of anything is bad for you Arian." The half sprite said as she took the chance to fish out some paper and a pen before scribbling down an address in messy but legible handwriting before handing the paper to Tayne. "Here's our address, Kori's apartment is the last one on the top landing of the block." She smiled ruefully. "But don't bother trying to send us any mail - for some reason we don't get any mail since the mail men won't deliver to us."

Tayne took the paper gingerly and looked at the handwriting. She thought it looked nice.
"Yes, you are right Kaze. One can always have too much of a good thing...or a bad thing for that matter..." she stuck out her tongue, finding that her own words tasted funny.
She lifted her feet in habit, forgetting that she was still on a swing. The swing moved slightly, shocking Tayne enough to send her falling backwards onto the ground, her lantern landing gently on her stomache.

Kaze looked startled as Tayne fell from the swing, the half sprite holding out a hand to help the other up. "Are you ok?" Concern glimmered in her eyes.
Arian blinked confused at Tayne's words "What do you.." he forgot the question he was about to ask as the girl fell from the swing. "Are you all right Tayne?" His voice was anxious "You're not hurt are you?"

Tayne stared up at the sky, only half aware of what had just happened.
Then the sky darkened... as Kaze blocked her view of the sun. The question snapped Tayne out of whatever she was in, and she regained memory of what happened.
Pain came next.
"I'm fine... I think..." she said as she took Kaze's hand. "Just a bump on the head..."

"That means you have to go home and rest right?" Arian said to Tayne, his words a mixture of comment and question. "Mummy says that you need to get rest if you bump your head and that if it hurts you need to take medicine to make it go away." He looked anxiously at her. "It doesn't hurt does it?"
Kaze helped Tayne up, shooting Arian a bemused look as she did so "Slow down on the questions Arian" she told the unicorn boy. "Not everyone likes answering floods of questions." Looking back at Tayne, a flicker of concern slipped into her eyes "Are you sure you're ok?"

"I'm fine... honest, and no, it doesn't hurt anymore" she muttered slightly as she felt her head. No bump... at least not yet.
"It doesn't seem like I got a bump after all..." she sighed, feeling bad that she had gotten the two so worried. She stooped down to pick up her lantern.
The pain of the initial fall had disapated, but she still felt iffy. Brushing off dirt and dust, she somehow managed one of her meek smiles.
"It's alright..."

Kaze nodded "Well that's good" she told Tayne and just like that she let the subject drop. It seemed something that the half sprite was good at - not pushing and letting things drop if she thought that people didn't want to talk about things anymore.
She tilted her head as she felt the breeze pick up, surprised to find that it was late afternoon.
Had time really passed so quickly...?
"I'm glad you're ok" Arian added. "It's no fun being hurt - it stops you from doing fun things and you're bored all the time."
He flushed slightly as he heard his stomach rumble, telling him in its own way that a bread roll for breakfast and two and a half cookies was not enough to count as any sort of meal.

Tayne blinked as she looked up again. The sun was high up in sky now.
Time sure does fly... when having fun?
Hearing a loud grumbling sound, she turned. It wasn't loud persay, but noticable. Noting the flushed look on Arian's face, she could tell what might be going on.
"It seems that I have kept you too long... I'm very sorry" she said apologetically, giving a slight bow. The paper that Kaze had written on was still in her hand. She looked at it quickly then shoved it in her pocket for safe-keeping

Kaze looked at Arian amused "Looks like we'll have to get you some food, which fortunately we won't to shop for. Will something with carrots do?"
At Tayne's words the half sprite looked puzzled "Why appologise?" Her voice sounded genuinely confused. "I've enjoyed talking to you and so has Arian" she grinned. "Besides you've complimeted my cookies."
Arian looked sheepishly at his mother "I am a bit hungry" he mumbled embarassed, though he perked up at the mention of carrots. "Can I have banana milkshake too?" Emerald green eyes looked at Kaze hopefully.
Kaze nodded.
"Yay!" This was said with a wide grin. Looking at Tayne the unicorn boy gave her a wide smile "I really liked talking to you. Hopefully Uncle Kori will let you come over - I'd like that too. I really want to show you my tree since it's so pretty."

Tayne blinked slightly. Enjoyed her company? She wasn't used to that, excluding the Sandersons for course. But then they treated her like a long lost daughter.
"I enjoyed talking to you too..." she said, withdrawing to her shy nature. So many things had happened in just the past few hours, things she really wasn't used to yet.
Yet she felt happy, for some odd reason. It felt like she had finally found something, something she had been missing...
A friend, perhaps?
"I would like to see your tree too" she said with general interest. Maybe, since it was possible for her to make a friend, there might be other things that she never thought to be in exisistance as well.
Like magic trees, or even beings that came from lanterns.

Arian grinned "Great!" He told Tayne, before turning a pleading look on Kaze. "You will ask Uncle Kori won't you.
Kaze nodded, her voice amused "Of course." She looked at Tayne. "Is there somewhere you'd like me to send a response to let you know if it's ok? Just" She frowned in thought. "Tell you what, I'll leave a response at the post office - the one near the grocery store. I have to go down there to collect mail anyway since no one will deliver any mail to us. I'll leave it for you under you name if that's ok with you."
