And the elastic flew again and again, with no complain howsoever. He didn't really bother with his hair once she finally flopped down - it was a hassle he would bother with later, but for now, his valid hand went to take her off the ground and settle her in his lap, instead. And then he started to pet her, idly.
"Maybe you should teach Tempo how to fetch." He said, amused. "That was fun ! Can you, um... speak to other cats ?" It was kind of a stupid question.

Oh, Xavier was good! Was it really this hard to adore a manx cat? Ellie made it seem nearly impossible at times. She purred as his fingers began to drift across her fur. Her feline body would have normally pressed up against the sensations, but right now, she just felt like relaxing.
"I don't think I can teach Tempo anything to be quite honest." ********* eyes began to close slowly in contentment. "And I can speak to other cats about as well as you or any other person probably can speak to other normal cats." She couldn't help but note mentally that Sue was perhaps the only exception to the rule, but that partially had to do with the fact he was somewhat a guardian as well.
I haven't seen Sue around for a while... When a cat was so busy, it usually was difficult to revisit friends on a regular basis.

"Oh." Yeah, dumb question. There were many things he felt like he should be asking the manx sprawled into his lap, but... as he tried to formulate the questions, none of them seemed to come. She looked so happy, so content, did he really want to ask serious questions ?
Sigh.
Like he most often did, he prioritized the cat's happiness over his own. "You... have some place to sleep, right ?" If not, well... she could certainly stay the night, at least.

The cat stretched her paws in front of her, and rather suddenly stood herself up in his lap. She turned to face him, careful to not knead any claws into his thighs. She sat her rump down and there she was, staring into his eyes again.
"I have many places to sleep, Xavier. It is all a matter of perspective, is it not?" Being a stray most times by choice meant many more opportunities available. It was all about approach.
"However, it is not time for sleep now. If you would be so kind, could you take me to the door? I need to get going." She purred slightly and offered him a feline smile. "Thank you very much for the meal though."

Well, maybe it was. Though, if ********* needed to get going, then he wouldn't take away more of her time. Maybe she had more senshi to awaken, or maybe she had something else to do completely.
Nonetheless, the cat was relocated into his arm as he stood to take her to the door. "Feel free to drop by whenever. There's always a ton of leftovers around here." He chuckled, and gave her one last pet before letting her down.
"Be careful, alright ?"

One day, Xavier would regret those words he just spoke. Promising ********* food was perhaps the one way to guarantee that she'd continue to pester him. At random hours. He might have felt a small dribble of drool along his arm as he carted her to the door, the thought of free food teasing her mouth just a bit more than she would have liked.
"I'm always careful!" she purred with a smile before offering his arm a small scratchy kitty kiss. When the door was opened, she trotted out, her bell once more livening up the air with its playful jingling sound.
