Cecilia thought about that for a moment. Certainly it must be easier with two, but Cicely had been so overprotective and Cecilia such a klutz that Cicely ended up doing all the hunting and after awhile Cecilia quit trying to help. Usually all her "help" ended up doing was ensuring they didn't get any meat that night, and while Cicely never actually expressed displeasure with her sister Cecilia could see that it tried her patience.
Of course she'd gotten better as an adult. Since she had to trek through some pretty harsh terrain when she wanted meat these days she'd actually gotten stronger. She'd never be good at hunting, perhaps, but since she never minded a diet supplimented by greenery it never bothered her.
"Maybe you should do the actual swiping," Cecilia said, casting another glance down at the water. "I mean I attract fish well enough, but I was never quick enough to get them out of the water. Usually I just scared them off and had to wait awhile before anything would come back."
Keeping fish from going back in the water sounded doable enough. Even if she ended up tripping on it rather than landing tooth or nail, at least she'd still be pinning it to the land.

"If it's good with you, it's good with me." Giving a quick little nod of his head, Kupe smiled. He'd be swiping the fish and she'd be pinning them? "I'll go ahead and do the swiping then."
That said, he turned his attention back to the water, eyes flickering over the water closest to the two of them. "There's bound to be a fish or two swimming around here.." He said, his tail giving an eager little flick in anticipation. "..We just have to find.. them..."
Then, suddenly, he spotted movement. Shifting from his spot near the edge of the water, Kupe made a swipe at the average sized fish passing by. He missed on his first swipe, just brushing the tail. No, this one would not get away! Quickly lashing back down at the fish with a curved swipe once more, he flung it - in a somewhat practiced manner - onto the ground near Cecilia's feet. "T-there we go!" Paws now wet and damn cold, he hurried to get himself back onto solid ground, body giving a shudder from the chilly waters.

Cecilia watched with Kupe as he stared at the water, but for the life of her she just couldn't see what he was waiting for. All those subtle little signals were beyond her, and it actually made her sign enviously.
She didn't have to wait very long though. In what seemed like no time Kupe had picked out a target and stuck. Cecilia was torn between wanting to cheer him on and keeping silent so as not to disturb his concentration. She ended up silent, mostly because the indecision caused her muscles to lock up.
...Which was why she was entirely unprepared for the fish that came flopping up close to her feet. "Oh dear, oh my," she muttered, trying desperately to stomp on the fish to keep it from bouncing back into the water. In the end she had to do a type of lunge and caught the thing by its tail in the tips of her teeth, less than a foot away from the water.
Heart hammering from the "battle" she'd gone though, Cecilia carefully pulled the fish back away from the water.

Kupe let out a laugh, not at Cecilia, but at the fact that the fish had almost managed to get away. Delighted at their success, he gave a few quick wags of his tail, shaking himself off before moving over to her. "We did a good job." He said, a toothy little grin on his face as he leaned over to nuzzle at Cecilia's cheek, not quite realizing the implications of what he was doing.
..Oh. O-oh 'Deities, what was he doing? She barely even knew him!
"Er.. Sorry, sorry." Resisting the urge to just yank himself away suddenly upon realizing what he had done, Kupe slowly pulled away from her, turning his grin into an awkward smile as he moved back. Hurrying to turn his attention down to the fish they had caught, he tried to avoid doing anything else that might make things between the two of them awkward. "S-so, uh.." A heavy blush working it's way over his face, he tried to avoid eye contact. "How.. how many more fish should we catch?"

Cecilia herself was actually quite used to physical contact. Not that she ever initated a lot of it but her sister, whom always declared that she destested the company of others, had this weird, cat-like habit of wanting to wind around the legs of others. Or just rub up against them in general, usually with no warning and when she was about to deliver a bit of acid wit. Cicely was just odd like that though, and Cecilia had come to accept it as a given.
It had made for a few lonely moments when she first left her sister, missing that exasperating attitude and the comfort of physical contact.
Cecilia just smiled and giggled a little at Kupe's embarassment. "It's alright, I'm not going to freak out on you over something like that," she said, giving Kupe a reassuring, kind smile. For a moment she was distracted, looking into Kupe's eyes and smiling, then she snapped to the present.
"What? Ah, oh my. Umm, well I could probably eat this and feel content, and two would make me feel full. It's up to you, I can't imagine that water feels pleasant."

"O-oh?..." He was.. Er, well, he was more than a little surprised at Cecilia's reaction to his nuzzle. She was okay about that? Really? "Alright then." Kupe replied, the awkward smile and heavy blush on his face fading away, replaced now with a bit of a silly grin. My, this was quite a relief. He thought that she would have freaked out, or.. o-or that she would have simply gotten up and walked away!
"Me? Oh. I'm fine with hopping in again, if it's for you. You said you would be alright with those two fish, though, so.. Hm. I might go back in real quick to see about grabbing a fish for myself." Then again.. Nn, maybe he would rethink that... Kupe looked over at the water briefly, his body giving an involuntary shiver at the mere thought of stepping back in. Ugh. Damn the weather for making things so numbingly cold! Giving a short little chuckle, he turned his attention back to her. "..Eh, maaaybe not."

Cecilia chuckled a bit. "Didn't think so." She looked at the water and gave her own involuntary shivver. She gave herself a quick shake, puffing up all her fur as much as possible to keep the heat closer to her body.
"Well that's alright, we can share this one," she said, nudging the fish at her feet lightly. "Maybe after that we can find something else that doesn't involve numb paws to catch." She tilted her head, grinning. "I have enough trouble staying up on my paws when I can feel them!"

Unable to help it, Kupe laughed. Not the usual chuckle, a laugh. "Hah! Yeah, let's.. l-let's not go in the water again." Grinning quite a bit now, he moved himself towards her, sitting himself down right next to her. Curling his tail around his own feet, Kupe pressed his side against hers just a bit, a silent, friendly offer to share a little warmth between the two of them. Girls never did this to him. Hell, his own family couldn't get him to loosen up like this! Ever. So, this was... just a little strange. It was nice, though, really nice.
"Alright! We'll share the fish then." Giving his tail a slight wag, he quickly remembered his manners. "Thanks... Ah, you know, for offering to share and everything. It's really nice of you."

Cecilia giggled, leaning companionably against Kupe. He didn't feel cold to her, though his legs had been in the water, not his shoulder. "My sister always said I was too nice for my own good, but someone had to balance out all her cranky," she said.
"And you are very much welcome. If it wasn't for you, we wouldn't even have a fish to share." She offered Kupe a sweet smile, then looked down at the fish in question.
Cursed things were hard to properly split in half with all the bones. Instead she reverted to an old habit, leaning down and delicately tearing off a bite of flesh, then pulling back to eat it while Kupe helped himself. It was something she and Cicely did when their fishing trips went bad, a sort of back-and-forth method of sharing.

Kupe gave a chuckle, shaking his head just a bit. "Your sister is really that cranky, huh?" He asked, a good natured grin now planted on his face. Reveling in the fact that the cold was now a little more tolerable and.. er, that he was closer to her now, Kupe simply enjoyed the company.
Oh? That's how they were going to split the fish?... Good. This was nice! And simple. A lot simpler than what eating with his family had been like. Four kids, two adults.. Ugh. It was never fun. Ever. Specifically, sharing food with his siblings had been a lot more chaotic than this. Leaning down to take his own bite of their little meal, he uncurled his tail from around himself. Pulling back as he chewed away, Kupe chose to lightly wrap his tail around Cecilia this time, happily letting it settle around her.
This was nice.

Cecilia laughed. "Oh my, yes! Our patterns and eyes are identical, but she's got a red coat. Fiery red to my calming blue, is our little joke."
Her stormy eyes twinkled with laughter while her own tail curled around herself and Kupe, running an opposite course of his own tail and overlapping it. It always amused Cecilia for some reason; both breeds had long tails, females had longer tails but males had fluffier ones. She wondered why they'd come out that way.
"But she's really nice behind her cranky exterior, you just have to take the time to get to know her." Cecilia tilted her head curiously. "What about your sibs," she asked, then bent down and got another bite of fish to occupy herself while Kupe took his turn talking.

Kupe didn't even try to hide his blushing this time around, comfortable now around her, which was... odd. For him, at least. His bite of fish done, he gave a last little laugh under his breath, shaking his head. "Ah, I'm sure she is. She can't be all that bad, being related to you! She has to be a little nice." With a grin and a light blush on his face, the blush being more from the chilly cold than anything else now, Kupe curled his tail just a bit more around Cecilia. It was far less cold now, sitting beside her like this~
"My siblings, hm?" Turning his attention to the question at hand, he tapped a paw against the ground in thought. "Let's see.. Well, Chop's the oldest of us. He's pretty nice." Kupe gave a chuckle before continuing, "A complete spazz at times, but he's a good brother." Pfft, this would certainly be a bit easier if he had less siblings.. "Higure comes after Chop and I. Pretty protective guy, but.. work past that and he's nice too." So many siblings. "After that, there's Shinya. She's.." Dang it.. What was a good word to describe her? "Shinya's... clingy?.. Clingy. Particularly around me. Probably because I'm her favorite brother or something. She.. definitely wears on my nerves sometimes with that."
Two siblings left. "Then there's Kaleo and Keiki, mom and dad's batch after the four of us older kids." Starting to hum softly under his breath, Kupe tried to come up with some info about the two younger siblings off the top of his head. "Kaleo likes to sing, hum, whistle, all that music stuff. A good little brother. And finally, Keiki, our youngest sib. Keiki..." A smile on his face, he leaved to give Cecilia a friendly shoulder bump. "She's actually a lot like you. Nice, sweet, clumsy at times~"

((Cracks me up that this RP began waaaaay before Kaleo and Keiki were born lol))
Cecilia giggled. "Like me? Oh my, no wonder my bumbling and stumbling didn't scare you off right from the get go!" She tried to picture this sister and got an image of a female with Kupe's colors. On some whim that popped out of nowhere she added her colors to the image too, smiling over it. She suddenly blushed and pulled back her additions, so it was just a Kupe-colored female again. She felt a kind of kinship with the unknown female.
On the wings of that thought arrived another.
"I'd like to meet them," she spoke up, voice quiet and a little timid as though expecting a swift denail. "Not all of them at once," she rushed to assure. "Just maybe you bring one or two of your closest family members, and I can bring my sister." Cecilia smiled and cocked her head to the side. "You just gotta promise to remember that she likes to be grumpy and doesn't always mean everything she says."

Kupe laughed, nodding once in agreement. "Like you, yes." He chortled out, taking a short moment to catch his breath before leaning down to snatch another bite from their fish. He listened quietly, ears flicking when they caught word of what Cecilia said next. She.. wanted to meet his family? Really? And she would bring her sister around to meet him, the grumpy one she had been talking about? Cicely? That... would be interesting. It sounded fun, though! "We... We can do that, sure! I'll bring one of my sisters," Kupe paused to take another bite from their meal, "Hell, maybe both of them, Shinya and Keiki. I think they'd get along with you just fine."
A smile worked it's way onto his muzzle as he chewed away, a thought coming to him. How odd, he wasn't ever this chatty with others. His bite finished, Kupe lightly bumped his shoulder against hers. "Ah, it would probably take more than some stumbling and bumbling from you to scare me off~ I like hanging around with you. A lot. It's... nice."
[I know, right? I had to think about it. XD I was like "Wait.. we're those two even around when we... Eh. -Tosses them in anyways- 8D"-]

Cecilia had leaned down and taken a bite of her own from the fish while Kupe talked. When he finished she snorted delicately. "Oh my goodness, don't say that! I have the worst luck ever. The instant you mention that it'll take worse, worse will probably happen."
She chuckled, shaking her head. "It might not seem like it now, cause this appears to be a good day for me. On my bad days I'm tripping every other step and seem to narrowly avoid getting falling down holes or getting buried under snow or something. Cissy says the only reasons I lived to see adulthood is cause she was there, and cause I have enough luck to make up for my lack of grace."
