Eon raised an eyebrow at the vixens questions. He knew most of his tribes personalities very well and he couldn't see many of them falling into darkness. The question didn't phase him though, he was used to having the ways of his tribe questioned by outsiders.

"My tribe lives peacefully in the dark and has done so for many years. Yes, the mood of a tribe chances, but it does change like the moon; In phases. It does not simply fall into darkness when it is at it's brightest hour." The males gaze drifted up to the moon as he spoke. Once he was finished, he looked back at Alanna and smiled again. "My tribe will not harm you."

Alanna shook her head. "I don't mean to say bad thing about others," she said, looking at the ground. It would be one thing if she had a horribly traumatic background, but as far as Alanna knew her past was normal. She wasn't sure why she was always so timid.

She pondered over the name Eon had given her, Lunarie. Alanna wasn't all that familiar with the tribes, since she kept mostly to herself. The name and the way Eon looked up at the moon though, gave her a hint. "Your tribe worships the moon?"

"There is a difference between saying mean things and asking cautious questions. What you asked was not mean, merely cautious." Eon said in regards to her first statement. He wondered why she thought such a statement had been mean. There was nothing mean about it from Eon's point of view.

At her question, Eon's gaze turned once again to the moon. "We do. The Lunarie tribe is a nocturnal tribe that worships the moon and aims for serenity. The majority of our tribe is quiet, and many of them are timid, like yourself." Eon looked back to Alanna for the last part of his statement. Alanna was asking questions and talking to him almost like anyone else would now. The dark male couldn't help but feel proud that he had made such progress with her.

Alanna thought about that. If asked about her sleeping habits she would have it was about half and half. It seemed like from cresent to new moon to cresent she was a dayfox, and gibbus to full moon to gibbus she was a nightfox.

If it wasn't for the fact that being a part of a tribe meant meeting a whooooole bunch of new foxes all at once, Alanna might have gone for it. With her nature though, she was fairly certain the day she joined a tribe was when she followed someone into one.

Her voice was still quiet, but now it was it's normal tone of quiet rather than a squeak. "So are they all nocturnal, like you?"

"For the most part, yes." Eon answered. "Sometimes some foxes rise earlier than others when the sun hasn't fully set, or stay up later than others until the sun raises. But for the most part, everyone in the tribe is nocturnal." He flicked his tail idly and wondered if Alanna was asking questions about his tribe to make polite conversation as they had been, or if she was truly interested in the tribe itself.

"Have you ever been to or around a tribe before?" He asked her curiously. She seemed so timid just around him. Eon could hardly imagine what she would be like around four or five foxes at a time.

Alanna shook her head back and forth rapidly, an empathic denial. "I-I just haven't found one I liked. And I couldn't join a tribe where I didn't know anyone. I-I don't seem to make friends t-too easily," she finished weakly, the smallest of embarassed smiles gracing her lips.

She did wonder what it would be like to be part of a tribe sometimes. But the notion was usually dismissed quickly. Alanna was more of a solitary fox, and preferred the company of only two or three others at a time, at the maximum. And then there was tribe size. Few were so small, but the few that were would rely on her more. The bigger ones were, of course, bigger and therefore a problem, but she could more easily slip through the cracks and go unnoticed.

So Alanna has chalked up tribes to something she would think about if she ever found a dear friend who was part of a tribe.

"Oh really?" Eon asked slightly raising his eyebrow. "You've made a friend out of me just fine." His smile brightened as he looked at her. For some reason, a large part of him just wanted to hold and protect her. Alanna had looked so scared when he had first met her and it had triggered something inside of him. Eon wanted to show her that she didn't need to be afraid of the world or at least, not of him and his tribe. No fox should ever go through life always afraid.

"I think you'd make a few friends in the Lunarie tribe. A lot of our members are like you." He nodded to her with a look of reassurance before his dark cheeks lightened a little. "Plus, I think you're to pretty to be out her all alone." It had to be the first time he'd ever complimented a vixen before and he wasn't even sure why he had said it. It was true of course, but Eon wasn't sure why he was telling her what he thought.

((For some reason when I see Alanna, I think of Hinata from Naruto XD She acts a lot like her, even talks quiet like her.))

The pink parts of Alanna's fur seemed to darken, and the white parts turned a pale rose. She hoped it was dark enough to blame any colors changes on shifting shadows and lights. Of course, once Alanna realized she was blushing it only made the blush worse.

Pretty? No one had ever called her that before. Well, except for Harle. But she was pretty sure brothers didn't count in these sorts of situations.

"T-thank you. I think you're quite handsome yourself." By now Alanna was pretty sure all her white parts were pink, and was thankful that so much of her coloring was black. Tonight just appeared to be a giant list of firsts for her.

(( She does lol Too bad Eon isn't like Naruto [if you ship that, I guess?]. But she's so cute!))

With the full moon shedding its light down on the clearing, it was obvious to tell that Alanna was blushing. Seeing her fur turn a light shade of pink, Eon felt a little proud of himself. He had successfully managed to make a vixen blush. Maybe he should speak his mind more often, he seemed to get a pretty good reaction from it this time.

Eon was taken by surprise when Alanna replied that he was handsome. That was a first. His mom had called him handsome once before but no one his age had ever commented on his looks before. He wasn't sure just how to respond to such a compliment.

"Thanks." He responded brightly. "Not very many foxes think my colors are a great mix for handsome."

((Well Naruto does mellow out a lot in Shippuuden. 'Sides, I'm sure my "Hinata" would be just as happy with your whoever-Eon-is-most-like just as much as she would be with a Naruto lol))

Surprisingly, Alanna chuckled. It was a short and quiet sound, but it was unmistakably one of humor. "We have a lot of the same colors. All I'm missing is a bit of blue and green." It was true, both Alanna and Eon had complimentary coats. The biggest difference was he was stripes, while she was spots.

Slowly Alanna's muscles began to relax. She sat up properly, not haunched close to the ground like an animal that expected to be attacked at any moment. Her gaze was still shy though, and focused more on Eon's feet than his face.

That would be twice now that Eon was taken by surprise. Had Alanna just laughed? Eon felt his confidence raise slightly and the vixen relaxed and began to open up to him a little. He was surprised he'd held a conversation with her this long. It was rare he held conversations with anyone besides his mother really, so to actually be talking with Alanna was refreshing to him.

"This is true." Eon said as he looked her over more closely. She was right, of course. They did share the same colors besides her lack of blue and green. But it seemed like the color of their coats wasn't the only thing they shared in their looks. "I think we might even have the same color of eyes, if I'm not mistaken. Or close to it anyway."
PostPosted: Fri Nov 19, 2010 7:19 pm

((XD I'm going to keep the look-like-we're-related comments out of here. That's an unneeded akwardness >.> Curse Rea and her observations lol))

Alanna tilted her head a little, peering. She didn't know what her own personal eyes looked like, but she definetly knew Harle's eyes. Eon's eyes were almost a perfect match to her brother's as far as color went. They looked different to her though.

It might have been because Harle was such a fun-loving male. There's was always a mischievous twinkle and laughter, a strong force of life. Alanna loved her brother's eyes, they both calmed and reassured her. Through his devil-may-care personality, she could see Harle loved her.

Eon's eyes were more difficult to read. Most of it was that she hadn't known him long. Harle was an exception, being her twin, but for others it was easier to read them with time. The moonlight didn't help, since Eon was sitting in it's bright rays and it obscured some of the message.

Alanna took her impressions of the male and gave it her best guess. She saw kindness, something which was more the set of the face around the eyes. Though the male seemed quiet and calm she thought she saw a little spark; humor and a joy of being alive in this moment. There was a lot she knew she was missing though, gleams and subtle hints from the muscles in his face that seemed familiar, but just out of reach in her mind.

Without realizing it Alanna had actually made eye contact with Eon. Sustained eye contact, with no flinching.

((Lame tag is laaaaame. Sorry D: ))

He had only meant to look at her eyes for a moment but once he made eye contact with Alanna and she didn't break away, Eon found it rather hard to look away himself. It made him feel a little awkward having a vixen stare into his eyes so intensely, as if she were searching for something. For a moment, Eon felt as if Alanna was trying to peer into his soul through his eyes.

Eon was surprised at how quickly he became comfortable and at home under Alanna's gaze, despite feeling a little awkward at first. She seemed so shy and timid but Eon could feel that there was so much more to her. He felt like behind that wall of nerves was a kind and fun loving vixen, just waiting for the right fox to open up to. In that moment, Eon realized that he wanted to be that fox; he wanted to learn everything about her.

((I see your lame post and raise it for a cheesy-ish one!))

Alanna blinked and the moment was.....broken? No, broken wasn't really the right word. Transformed, perhaps. The spell that had weaved around the two while they stared in each other's eyes was gone, but the feel in the air between them was different now. Something had changed, Alanna just didn't know what.

She blushed a bit and cast her eyes downward on Eon's jaw. That didn't seem to help her concentration; she got distracted by the smoothness of his fur and the strong muscles just beneath the fur. "Our eyes are very much the same color," Alanna said in her quiet voice.

A light wind picked up, swirling around the clearing. It picked up whatever was light enough to dance with it, and pulled pleadingly at the heavier objects to move with it's silent music as well.

Eon found himself at a complete loss for words. He wanted to say something back to her, keep the conversation going, but he was at a complete and utter loss. His mind, for some odd reason, didn't seem to be capable of processing words anymore. As he continued to gaze at the vixen near him, a small wind picked up and seemed to pull his words away from him.

"I....Uh.... You..." Eon tried searching for the words, but they wouldn't come to him. He closed his mouth and shook his head, trying to clear it, but that didn't seem to help much. Maybe he didn't need to speak...

Trying a different approach, Eon slowly stood, and took a small step towards Alanna. The small breeze seemed to be pushing him towards her.
