Nathan moved himself over a bit to ensure Nari had plenty of room to slip back inside the limo with her umbrella.

"Of course not Nari!" Nicohlas chimed in after her hesitant acceptance of the fact they would not have offered if they did not want to. "Oh! I can show you the library! And my room! Are you hungry? Sampson always has snacks ready for us after school." Nicohlas rather eagerly jabbered away as he reached to unclick a small cell phone from a flip down compartment along his seat's side.

"Now Nico, don't overwhelm her. Let's just focus on getting home and having her call her mother." Nathan gently chided his brother, then motioned to the phone Nico was currently holding.

She smiled warmly at Nathan as he gave her room. She shook her umbrella before snapping it closed. When Nico began to rapid fire ideas at her, she was a little overwhelmed, but would have easily taken a second and sorted it out. However Nathan, like a charming prince, came to her rescue and calmed his brother.

When she was motioned to the phone, she was hesitant to take it until it was offered to her. When it was, she dialed her home phone. After a few moments, she spoke. "Hey mom, it's me. You weren't home so I've gone to a friend's place." She parroted the number given to her. "So when you get home call me there. Love ya! Bye." And hung up. "Thanks." She handed the phone back. "Nico, I'd love to see everything you want to show me. I'm... very excited to see your home."

Nathan sat back easily in his seat as he fed the number to Nari when she required it. Nico seemed so very excited. As much as Nathan wanted the chance to work more of his charm on Nari, he knew it would be in his best interest for his little brother to get his childish eagerness satisfied first. After all, she was supposed to be Nicos friend first yes?

Nicohlas happily returned the phone to it's place and lifted the compartment back into place. "It's a shame it's so late in the year." Nicohlas said. "Then I could have taken you out into the pasture to show you the backyard, or the garden!" He said with a small sigh. He glanced out at the rain and shook his head a little. "But this weather would make it too hard for my chair to move over the grass."

Nathan waved his hand dismissively at his brothers words. "Then we can just arrange for it in the future. No reason Nari can't visit us more then once after all." Nathan murmured. He nodded his head a little to Nari, then glanced outside as the limo slowed to a temporary stop.

Outside the window he could see the old white iron fence and the gates opening to allow the limo access to a half circle driveway. They drove up the long driveway to a old stone mansion. Three stories tall, with a grand balcony on the uppermost floor. The Limo drew up front of the mansion where a servant stood with a umbrella much like Nathans at the ready. When the limo stopped the servant opened the door for the ones within.

Nathan made a small gesture for Nari to exit the limo first. "If you do not mind Nari, Jeremy there can escort you to the door, I must see to my brother."

"Oh Nico, I'd love to see the garden some day too. But I think seeing everything at once would be boring. What would you show me next time? Maybe in the spring we can have a picnic in the garden?" She offered before noticing the car had rolled to a stop. She looked out the window, her eyes going wide. She had no idea places like this existed in King's city!

"Wow..." she breathed softly. She thought her current home was large. But she'd never had a 2 story house before. And with just she and her mother, it seemed even bigger! Though when their furniture arrived it would seem slightly smaller. Still, she could hardly believe this place. "It's like a castle..." She hadn't realized she said it out loud. But when the door was opened and she was instructed to head out first, she snapped out of her musings. "Oh! Do you need any help?" She offered.

Nicohlas nodded his head as Nari would speak rather sensibly. "You are right of course." He replied. If he showed her all the interesting things right away then there would be nothing to show her next time! Nico's eyes lit up then as he realized this would mean that Nari would be visiting them at least one more time.

Nathan, tactfully, did not respond to the little slip on Nari's part. It was amusing though, and it felt good to be impressing her with his clear wealth. "No no. I can handle this, you are my guest here for now and I would not have you put out in such a way." Nathan calmly responded as he pulled Nico's chair out the door. He waited for Nari to get out of the limo so he could open the chair. The servant moved in an attempt to keep the chair and Nari under the umbrella, which unfortunately left Nathan out in the rain. Not that he minded. Getting his dark hair wet had a tendency to make it look all the more sleek after all.

"Go on ahead to the house Nari, we'll be right there!" Nico said as Nathan slid him out of the limo.

Nari looked at Nathan as he stepped out into the rain. That wasn't right. He shouldn't have to get wet. She looked down at her umbrella before opening it up and leaning over just a little, and held the bug-printed shield over Nathan's head while she stood under the large umbrella with the servant and the chair. She didn't mind that her arm was getting a little wet. She wanted to repay their kindness.

When the patter of rain ceased falling on him, Nathan glanced up to see the ladybug pattern umbrella over him. He could not stop the smile from stretching his lips a bit. As he gently eased his brother out of the limo and into his chair, he turned that smile upon Nari. "Thank you." He said very simply.

Once Nico was settled safely into his chair, Nathan allowed him to roll himself towards the house. Nico was careful to stay under the stretch of the umbrella, though he glanced back at Nari over his shoulder. "This is great. We haven't had a visitor in ages!"

Nathan gave a low chuckle at his brothers excited words. "Focus on where you are going Nico, you do not want to roll off the walk." He cautions and flicked a hand forwards towards the house. Once Nico turned his gaze ahead, Nathan shifted a step towards Nari and leaned over to murmur faintly. "I appreciate what you did for me. I hope I can return the favor sometime. In the meantime, were you interested in the snack Nico mentioned? Or would you prefer to have a small tour? I'd be happy to show you the downstairs."

"I'm glad I could come to your house then." She said gently to Nicohlas. "But you're so nice. Why don't you have more people over?" She was a little curious before her gaze shyly shifted to Nathan.

"You're welcome. You've already been so kind to me, first giving me a ride home, then inviting me in when I was locked out. It's the least I could do." She blushed a little and had to turn her eyes away from Nathan. "Perhaps... um... I really don't know. Both sound marvelous." She chanced a glance back at Nathan. "Maybe a snack. We can sit and you can dry off. Wouldn't want you to catch cold after all."

When they reached the front step, she couldn't help but look around again. It was magnificent. She could hardly fathom real people living like this. But... here it was she was visiting the home of her new friends.

The children were escorted through a pair of ornate marble double doors into the foyer. With marble floors and white walls, the place glowed under the light of the four large hanging chandeliers. Two large stair cases dominated the left and right side of the room. Potted plants added a faint aromatic scent and softened the harshness of the stones. In the center of the foyer a over-sized statue of a woman dominated the room with her slinky pose. Nico rolled around the statue and headed for one of two archways that opened into a large sitting room. "I'll be right back! I'm gunna put my books in the stud!" He called out as he wheeled quickly away.

"Slowly Nico! There is no need to rush." Nathan called out, then sighed as his brother paid him no heed. He turned to Nari and offered her his less wet arm. "Please then, allow me to escort you to the fireplace. Do you have a preferred beverage? You must tell me a little about yourself Nari. As Nico mentioned, we rarely get visitors. I am afraid our home tends to intimidate people. I really do not hope it has the same effect on you."

Nari smiled as Nico rolled eagerly off. She took a moment to look around. The graceful statue, the impressive stairs that made Nari want to run up them and slide down the banister- She thought this house looked like a lot of fun. She wanted to explore it, though she would, with out a doubt, get lost in the many rooms. Her musings were, once more, interrupted by Nathan. She blinked at his offered arm a moment before taking it with a smile.

"Why thank you." She let her hand rest gently on his arm and be lead from the entry. "Oh, I'm pretty easy to please. Lemonade, fruit juice, water, it's all good." When he mentioned the house intimidated people, she shook her head. "No, not really. I mean, I'm impressed, and really thought that places like this only existed in far off countries." She detangled her arm from his only to do a little spin as she walked, looking at her surroundings before taking his arm once more.

"As for me, I'm not really that interesting. My mom and dad divorced and had a messy custody battle. Because of the court dates, I missed my chance at the Olympics last time. So I've got to double my efforts this year! I'm a contender!"

Nathan watched Nari with a barely concealed expression of amusement. Seeing her impressed by the house was something he expected. To see her so enchanted however was a bonus. Nathan ran his fingers through his bangs to push them off to the side before moving past the double archway and into the sitting room. Nathan hardly gave the ornately decorated room a second glance. Pillars ran down the left and right side of the room. Instead of being a traditionally enclosed room, the 'sitting room''s north wall was nothing more then more pillars separating the white marble hall on the other side. A hall to the left and right of the double archways lent to a sense of airy space. Some plants decorated the room, along with a modern styled fireplace. A large television dominated one of the spaces between the pillars, before it was arranged some comfortable Victorian style seats. Nathan moved towards the love seat unerringly. "You would be right in a way. Homes like this normally are not found in this area. Mother has a great love of the foreign and exotic however, so she likes to style this place after the places she and Father visit. I don't think any of the decor actually are from Kings City. I know the pillars were imported from someplace." He turned as he sat and gestured to the empty chair across from the love-seat.

"The Pillars were imported from Italy." Nicohlas called out as he rolled into the sitting room. His wheels squeaked slightly on the blue marble floor as he approached the television area. "The ones outside were created somewhere up north and shipped in after pictures were taken. Daddy didn't want to pay a bunch of money for something exposed to the weather. No matter how badly Momma wanted them." He ever so helpfully replied. He could hear Nathan chuckling softly from his seat.

"So tell me about the Olympics." Nathan redirected the conversation from their wealth and how it was wasted to a topic he was sure would be easier for him to use to get to know Nari better. That being herself. "What were you going to compete in? You must tell us when you contend, so Nicohlas and I may come and support you." He murmured.

"Tich." Nari said lightly. "My house is decorated with boxes right now." Of course, they knew she was just moving it, so that was to be expected. "It's nice that your parents bring a little bit of their trips home with them though. This house is amazing."

Nari sat beside Nathan on the love seat and ran a hand over her shirt to smooth the wrinkles. "I'm a gymnast." She replied happily. "2 years ago I was second in the national rhythmic floor competition. I have practice every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, and competitions are usually on Sundays. Though I don't start again for 2 weeks." Nari tapped her finger against her chin before smiling. "Though I also work on uneven bars and rings, my focus is on floor exercises." She blushed a little. "I'll gladly tell you when I start competing again. I'd love to have you come and see me. Even though I give it my all, putting in 200% effort... I always seem to try just a little bit harder when I've got someone cheering for me." she admitted a little shyly. "This time, for sure I'll make it." The determination in her voice was indication enough that this was her dream. She would compete in the Olympics- even if it killed her.

Nicohlas arranged his wheelchair so he could easily see Nari. He could not possibly imagine how exciting it must be to compete in any sort of sports event, much less one as widely watched as the Olympics. Nico cupped his chin in a palm and leaned on his elbow. "Wow." He said with clear admiration. "Did you get a medal or ribbon or something? Can I see it?" He knew he was getting ahead of himself a little bit, but Nicohlas could not help himself. Having Nathan even mentioning going to support Nari had him excited! Nathan rarely took him places outside of their usual scheduled stops.

Nathan, for his part, was busy listening to Nari. It was rather impressive that she had ranked so high in a competition. "It's a lofty goal, and one clearly within your reach." He replied after Nicohlas would chatter excitedly. "We would be excited to cheer you on." he followed up without hesitation. Nathan formed a careful smile, then glanced at his brother. He wanted to say something more, or do something else....but having his little brother present made it impossible.

"Oh!" Nicohlas popped up in his chair and reached to grab Nathan's knee. Nathan turned to look at his brother with a mildly amused expression.

"Oh?" He repeated with a trace of mirth.

"When Nari makes it to the Olympics, can we go!?" Nicohlas asked, his eyes bounced between his brother and new friend excitedly.

Nathan's amused expression remained unchanged as he shifted his gaze to Nari. "What do you say Nari? When you make it to the Olympics, Nicholas and I shall travel where ever you are competing, so you will know for a fact you have someone cheering for you."

Nicohlas clapped his hands together and looked at Nari excitedly. "I'll make a special banner and everything! " He paused then and tilted his head. "That's allowed right? Or would it be distracting?"
PostPosted: Thu May 05, 2011 5:07 am

"I did get a medal. I've got a couple. When I unpack them, I'll have you over for dinner and I'll show them to you if you like." She had a broad smile on her face that only widened when Nathan thought she could indeed make it to the Olympics. "It would be amazing to have you come and see me when I make it. I'd really... I'd really like that." She was enjoying talking to her new friends so much.

"Of course it's allowed! People make banners all the time,, either for their country or for a competitor. I heard that the last winter Olympics, a group of people had custom scarves made with the name of their favorite snow boarder." She raised a finger and spoke in a serious tone. "Whatever you make should have tons of glitter on it, ok? Or Ladybugs." she added the second with a wink.

Now that she'd talked about herself, and what she was most interested in, gymnastics, and she knew what Nicohlas liked. Or at least knew he liked reading and sewing. Maybe he liked more things? Something secret like she had. If gymnastics didn't work out for her in the end, she lived entomology. But that was weird for a girl. But what about Nathan? She slid her honey colored eyes over to Nathan, wondering if it would be ok to ask what he did for fun, but also didn't want to be rude. She did, after all, just meet them, and they were being so kind, after giving her a ride, and inviting her into their home like this. Did he do a sport? Maybe he did something princely like fencing, or horseback riding. What if he did jousting? Did anyone do jousting anymore? She averted her eyes so she wouldn't be staring at Nathan and blushed at her train of thought. She was being foolish again.

"What... do you do in your free time?" She didn't specify who she was asking. Anything was better then stewing in her own questions about them.

Nico's fascination was without fetters. He looked at Nari with clear admiration. The only thing that displaced it was the look of absolute excitement on his face when his brother would bring up the possibility of following Nari to the Olympics, and hearing her agree.

"Sparkly ladybugs!" He decided with a happy shout. Nicholas thrummed his fingers on the curve of his wheels, then gave himself a quick push backwards. "I can't wait, I'm going to get started on the sketches now!"

Nathan looked at his brother with a slightly startled expression, and he lifted a hand to interrupt him. However, in Nico's excitement, he had already begun to roll off towards a hallway and all he could think to call out was a rather weak "Not so fast Nico...."

Nathan sat for a moment, then turned to look over at Nari. Nicohlas had been so excited to start work on his newest creative project, he clearly had not heard the soft spoken question asked by their guest. Nathan placed another small smile on his face and shifted in his seat to look place all of his attention upon Nari now that they were, for lack of a better explanation, alone.

"Well...if you were asking my brother, I believe his answer would have been arts and crafts of some sort. He likes to read and sew." Nathan made a small gesture towards the back of the house before he continued on. "I personally enjoy horse back riding, and I compete at times in fencing tourneys." Nathan settled back in his chair and casually crossed a ankle over one knee as he lounged back. "Most of the time I am watching over Nicohlas. He seems to get over excited at times and forgets his limitations. When I do have a free night to myself...I rather enjoy taking new acquaintances out to this lovely french restaurant on the outskirts of Kings City. Have you ever heard of the restaurant Pierre Bras?"

Alright, so maybe he was name dropping a little bit by bringing up the five star restaurant, but if he was going to impress a girl he wanted to do it right!

Well...that was a little motherly and notably less charming then he had wanted it to be.
