John was walking down the street with his hands in his pockets and noticed Rose walking into a building. Without thinking he followed her but kept a safe distence.

There was a feral growl from the shadows and a flash of red. All at once the creature attacked. Rose fired three shots but the thing kept coming, so she did what she always did when a direct assault didn't work. She ran like hell. She caught enough of a glimpse to know what it was... Cybershade. Her heart raced wildly as a thrill of fear coursed through her. It was their fault... it was all THEIR fault. She saw red but this time it was a veil of hatred.
"Come on you filthy b*****d," she muttered as she stopped and spun around. "You took everything... you want me? COME AND GET ME!!!"
Using her screwdriver she powered up her blaster and shot the beast squarely in the head. It fell dead at her feet and she found herself unable to stop herself from shooting it a few more times just to make sure. Suddenly she heard more roars and screeches coming from all around... apparently it was not alone.

John felt himself running in front of Rose and pushing her back. His head was spinning and she din't know what he was doing but he felt like he knew what to do. Instantly his eye's moved to the Screwdriver in her hand.

"Doc... JOHN! WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!" she yelped as he pushed her behind him. All around Cybershades were screeching and darting among the shadows.
It's happening again. Flashes of the Medusa Cascade and her own Doctor flashed inside her mind. No way out... no way out...not again...
Her panicking brain suddenly shut down and she felt herself drawn into a cold state of mind. Rose then drew out a second blaster.
"John, get out of here, it's not safe."

"I'm not leaving you here!" he yelled while taking her hand and pulling her away from the Cybershades. For some reason the sonic that was around him did not even appear to him as odd.

"John, I've done this before. I know what I'm doing," she replied in a deathly calm voice though inside she was on edge, "YOU don't. I don't want you to get hurt. The whole reason I bolted out of the cafe is so you wouldn't get involved in this! Speaking of which, why are you even on this part of town?!"
A Cybershade lunged and Rose immediately shot it.
"OI! I AM HAVING A CONVERSATION! D'YOU MIND?!" she barked as the stunned Cybershade stumbled back.

John clenched his teeth. "Listen to me! You look like you can handle yourself but right now you need to come with me! There's to many for you to handle alone!" he said while not letting go of her hand.

She knew there were too many. He was basically stating the obvious and being extremely stubborn about getting himself involved. Her gaze flickered to his hand.
"Don't let go Rose..." his voice echoed in her memories and she relented.
"Fine, but if something happens... John, look at me," she stared straight into his eyes, "if something happens to me, I want you to run. You got that? You run away from these things and don't turn back."

John looked back into her eye's. "This is not the end. You think it'll last forever, the people and cars and concrete. But it won't. One day it will be all gone, even the sky. There could be a war and everyone will be gone. There could only be one survivor who will carry on the legacy of what we have. It could be you, me anybody. But our time is not now. If you think that something is going to happen your wrong. So you listen to what I say Rose Tyler because right now your the only one I got and I'm not about to let you die. Now come with me"

Rose nodded and felt something shatter inside her chest. Her gaze blurred her eyes stung for some reason.
Oh right... tears... She quickly wiped them and cleared her throat.
Rose had stopped mourning, or at least, she had told herself she had stopped. After his death, there was nothing left to do in life except die or go on with life. He wouldn't have wanted her to mope, so she had kept living as best she could. And now here she was again, repeating history with the shadow of the man she loved... no, he wasn't a shadow. Even as a human, this was THE Doctor. Every bit as clever and brilliant as the one she had traveled with.
"Alright, you win, where to," she asked feeling some of the panic fade. The Cybershades were becoming more and more active though they kept a wary distance. Still, it was only a matter of time.

He had a serious look on his face as she looked around. "To the opera house on the other side of the river." he said quickly while running towards the boats that went across the river.

She followed him closely wondering if his memories were beginning to kick in and if so, was it too soon? A few of the bolder shades pounced out and attempted to grab them, but Rose quickly stunned them with her blaster.
"John, I hope you have a plan..." she frowned noting the battery on her blaster was below the mid-point.

"Nothing goes into the Opera house, not evan animals. We will be safe there" he said while jumping into a boat and started to paddle quickly.

She hopped into the boat and took a seat behind him. Every once in a while a Cybershade would pop into view by the riverbank and she would 'discourage' it from following them.
"I hope you're right... ugh, $5 million dollars worth of weapons and I would trade it all for a Localized Bomber," she tossed aside her now dead blaster and took stock.
She had several crystal explosives camouflaged as earrings, one blaster on it's last leg, her sonic screwdriver, her omni-scanner, a portable prison, and... a bag of jelly babies.
"Could be worse," she sighed popping a candy in her mouth, "it could be raining."

It started to rain and John glared at her. They soon reached the other side of the river and he got off while pulling Rose with him. He took her hand and ran towards a abandoned looking opera house.
