Wow... way to take things way too personally. I won't get into generalizing real races of people since none of them hold true, as you stated. But it's an accepted fact that in main-stream Elven lore that they are a proud people and extremely exclusive. I've never found a source stating otherwise. If you want to use a different version that's fine. It's fantasy and can be altered to each individuals preferences (as has been said multiple times by now). I didn't say a half-elf being taken in by elves is wrong, I just said unheard of and asked for any examples in literature.

Now take a deep breath and calm down. I don't want this to become a personal argument but if you're going to participate in the racial discussions please keep your comments to the subject matter rather than criticizing the other people involved.

The only half breed in elven lore that I've heard of, as far as elven lore goes, is really a mixed blood that was part wood elf and part drow ... and she was raised by her wood elf mother ... I've also hear that there are entire communities set out exclusively for those that accept half breeds.
half breeds come about in many different ways too ... and I personally find it important to state why your parents got together if you do play a half breed ... this will also give more insight into why your character is they way they are.
By the Wikipedia definition that was used in an earlier post ... witches would be considered fairies as well. so I think taking a more modern approach on them would be best.
Druid is most defiantly a way of life as opposed to dryads or nymphs which are part of the forest.

Where to begin. Well my character is the half-elf you probably saw. I would like more feedback on her.

As for half-elves and their families. You have to remember those who are part elf in the Lord of the Rings. Aragon was raised by Elrond. He's best friends were Arwen's brothers and he married an elf himself and had children with Arwen. Bilbo himself lived in Rivendell and Gimli was an honorary elf with his friendship with Legolas.

@ Destiny
Chill it's more of chat relating to the history of teach race within out world. I rather not have people fighting over something stupid. Though I know we are all passionate about it.

I just want to add something about shifters. So it clears things up. Shifters are humans who can transform into one of various didn't animals. Like a coyote, werewolf, or werecat.

So I have a big book of monsters and I finally read some of it and I thought I'd post a little of what the book said about Fairies (I'll so other stuff later).

Because fairies seldom breed they often take thriving human children and replace them with a changeling.

If you can befriend them they will be good neighbors.

Fairies are found all over the world.

Like Bees, fairies swarm.

Fairies are something that you don't want to mess with.

Fairies don't like meat.

Fairies find humans boastful and hate them for not caring for their part of the earth.

Well I see things I don't like about most of them.

•A shape-shifter doesn't discern what kind of shape-shifting it can do, so a Shape-shifter should be able to shift into whatever they want.
If a person wants to make it so their character can only shape-shift into certain things, then they can.
•Spirit Warriors sound as though they are a spirit, but I understand what you are saying. Instead of only able to change into only one animal, it should be any entity that they have a deal/connection with. Since they think of the earth as a living entity. (Such as if you made a pact with an Elder Tree, you could change into an extremely powerful tree person...type of thing.)

As for Raimundo
•Elves shouldn't be immortal. Live amazingly long, sure, live forever, no. (I understand they do in 'Lord of the Rings', but in the series, they are like gods. Being amazingly blessed by theirs.)
•Elves can't shape-shift. Other than using magic; which they are known to be amazing at.(That would abolish the need for changelings/Shifters/Shape-shifters. A character could just make an Elf, instead of the other races.)

However, I do agree with some of your other ideas.
•Elves have a natural affinity for magic. (It makes an elf character not excel amazingly at every type of magic. Just their affinity.)
•Dwarves are known to be very skilled at forging items; swords, armor, shields, etc. (This could add to a dwarf's character; go to a dwarf blacksmith/constructor for things you want built to withstand 'wear & tear'.)

Believe what you wish, but Elves Are Immortal. As for their Shape Changing? no, they aren't shapeshifters. They use magic to influence their Body. Things like, Grow Hair here, change Eye color, and some can go as far as things like give themselves gills, change legs into fins. All it is is reshaping the body. But like I said, they must retain their original mass.

Sorry, Fantasy is my thing. Amongst being a druid, I study Fantasy. I am writing my own book on it, to be placed amongst great writers like Christopher Paolini and J.R.R. Tolkien.

You just need to read a book sometime. These aren't fake facts. I didn't make them up.
i agree with your opinion more but there is a gothic fairytale novel from 1943 my dad had bought me it had a elf girl who could shift into plants and butterflies XD
