For good measure, Kali waited a couple minutes, just to make sure they were all gone. It was kind of hard to ignore Lance, right in front of her, and close enough to touch; but she did it, staring obstinately out at the opening. Then, when there was no possible way that anyone was left, she tip toed tentatively out of their nook.
"Looks like they're gone...and the boardwalk is right over there." She said, smiling as she spotted it. "Look at that. We're not even far off course."

Lance was having similar thoughts as he hid in the nook with Kali - he didn't particularly mind being this close to her. Actually, he didn't really have any complaints, other than the fact that they were hiding from crazy fangirls.
And even that wasn't REALLY something that he'd be bothered by on a regular day.
"No kidding." He grinned, stepping out of the nook, his hand holding hers - he wasn't sure when that had happened, but he didn't particularly care. He was doing it anyway. "C'mon, lets hurry. Before they decide to come around again."

Kali nodded and followed Lance down to the water's edge, looking out at it once they stood on the boardwalk.
"Wow..." She breathed. It was stunning. It seemed all of their delays had done something good; the sun was beginning to set, it's rays cast out over the water, turning it magenta, gold, and orange. It set the horizon on fire.
It was mesmerizing. But she managed to rip her eyes away, looking over at Lance.
"It's beautiful..." She couldn't believe that she had never been here before.

Lance grinned as he saw the expression on Kali's face, pleased about the fact that he'd managed to impress her with the view. Honestly, this was one of his favortire places - true, it was stereotypical and terribly corny, but that was all really part of its charm.
"I'm glad you think so." He took a seat on the boardwalk, gesturing for the redheaded girl to do the same. "It's the best view around here. I like to come here whenever I can - it's a good place to practice too...or to just think, if you wanted to." He smiled at her before looking back out at the water. "I hoped that you'd like it."

Kali sat down beside Lance, dangling her feet over the edge. Her toes didn't quite reach the water; she was too short.
"I do like it...Thank you." She smiled, holding back a slightly rude comment that would have ruined the moment.
"You know, I really didn't expect this. Not from you." She said. She really hoped that he wouldn't take offence to the comment, but really...he didn't seem like the 'sunset' kind of guy.

Unlike Kali, Lance's was more than tall enough to touch the water with his feet. He smiled at the redhead's response, leaning back on his hands as he turned his head to look at her. Kali's next comment made him laugh.
"Most people don't. I don't blame them." He clearly wasn't insulted in the least. Actually, the gothic boy took pride in the fact that he could surprise people - it was especially fun when they got humorous expressions on their faces. This time, however, he wasn't really looking to shock anyone: he didn't have a reason to, after all. "I figured that you wouldn't be expecting it though, and that it'd be a nice surprise." After the fiasco at the diner, he had to make it up to her somehow, even if that hadn't been his fault.

"You thought right." She smiled, leaning her head on his shoulder. "Thank y-"
"Lance!!!" An angry voice that was undeniably female came from behind them, sharp footsteps storming down the dock. Kali turned in time to see a pretty blonde girl storm up to them, tears in her eyes.
"You...you womanizer! How could you?!"
From the shadows, Katia watched. This was it. It was the last thing she could think of. And, if it didn't work, all of her shoujo manga was going in the trash.

Lance found himself staring after he'd turned to look at the blond girl that was approaching them. There was a look on his face that was clearly confused as she accused him of being, well, a man-whore - which he pretty much was. For once, however, he didn't know who the hell this girl was. "Excuse me? I don't even KNOW you." Was this another one of his crazy fangirls? Probably, and she was going to ruin his date with Kali if this kept up. "I've never seen you in my life." Despite being a womanizer, he at least had the decency to remember the girls that he'd slept with...

"You haven't...you have so!!" She cried, seeming near tears. "Why would you say such a thing? You-" She seemed about to launch into a tirade, a tearful lament of how he didn't care for her, how he really was the only boy she ever loved, how it wasn't fair for him to be two timing her, and not even remember her on top of all that. Really, it probably would have been very convincing...
But she never got the chance. She opened her mouth, took a breath...and hit the water.
Kali stood with her hands on her hips, glowering down at the blonde that was sputtering, splashing around in the lake.
"Sad story. Really. I'm in tears." She rolled her eyes, bright green energy beginning to swirl around her hands. "But ya know what? I'm sick and tired of you little hussies scampering in and ruining my date. Enough has ******** up, without you skanky little bitches coming in and trying to worm yourselves into my date's face. So I'm giving you THREE seconds-" Katia's eyes widened as she saw the magic around Kali's hands flare, and heard the tone of voice she reserved for punishing them.
She knew.
Luka trilled quietly and dragged Katia away, hearing the tone also. They had to go, before Kali KILLED them! Katia didn't need much convincing, darting away through the shadows.
"-to swim your blonde a** to shore, before I BLOW IT UP." She hadn't blown up a head, she thought, in a very long time. And she probably wouldn't actually blow it up. Just shrink it. But blondie didn't need to know that.
She took the threat seriously, obviously, splashing through the water for shore.

Lance was really starting to hate this evening. It seemed as though the world were out to get him, and nothing that he did was going to get it to leave him alone. Really, did having one simple date need to be this complicated? Maybe this was why he didn't do them often - raging fangirls and people out to get him would definitely turn one off of dating.
It seemed as though Kali were fed up as well. The black-haired boy soon saw this as she sent the blond girl off of the dock and into the water - apparently, she'd had enough with taking this crap. A grin spread across his face, and Lance didn't bother to give the blond girl a second look, having directed his attention back to the redhead who was standing next to him. "Nice shot." he commented, putt a hand on her shoulder in hopes of calming her back down. "Maybe they'll get some brains and leave us alone now."

Kali shot one last murderous look at the retreating blonde before extinguishing the light around her hands.
"They'd better." She muttered. She knew Katia was gone. She had felt her retreating.
But when she got her hands on her? She was dead. No. Worse than dead. She would wish she was dead.
"Maybe we should just...go." She looked over at him, sighing. "I should get home anyways, before Uncle Viktor starts asking questions." She didn't want him to start harassing Lance. He was already out to get him just for hanging out with her. She didn't want it to get any worse.
"Maybe...we could, I dunno. Try again sometime. Just...not go out." She understood exactly how that sounded.
And surprisingly, she didn't mind.
She shot him a shy smile and scratched the back of her neck, unsure of what she should do. Should she just leave, now? Or wait for him to do something?

Go home. Damn. Well, so much for trying to fix up this date. Lance made a mental note to make this up to her somehow, considering that he was fairly certain that this entire date had been a disaster. Perhaps he should have expected that though. It wasn't like he'd been on a date in...well, years. "Well...I'll walk you home, in that case."
Not go out. A slight grin came over Lance's face, and he wondered if he was supposed to interpret that the way that he currently was. "Not go out, huh?" He waited a moment before leaning down to kiss Kali softly. Hopefully, she wouldn't smack him for this. After a moment, he broke the kiss and smiled down at her.
"I don't think that I'd mind that too much."
