Hello, Cloud! Welcome to Defense Against the Dark Arts! Yes, my teaching style is very like Professor Lupins'. I will be teaching spells to students from year 1 to year 7, and all of you will not only learn about them, but will have the chance to practice them and be able to perform them.

Oh and by the way, you won't be starting to learn spells or perform them until the 9th, to make sure every student can practice the spells you will learn. So we will be discussing the subject until them. So other questions? Suggestions?

Any kind of curse. The imperius curse, correct. And the leg-locker curse, correct! Five points to Gryffindor! Yes, both are indeed curses. As you mentioned, the imperius curse is one of the three unforgivable curses. Can anyone tell me another of the unforgivable curses?

Aludra Yvette...

Aludra raised her hand eager to speak, as Dark Arts was her area of interest. "Theres the Avada Kedavra, the Killing Curse. The Unforgivable Curses are some of the most powerful known spells in the Dark Arts and in order to preform one correctly you have to want it bad enough. You need to put feeling into the spell and really mean it when attacking or bewitching the said person."

" That leave's just one more unforgivable curse, Professor, The Cruciatus Curse or the Torture Curse. If one preforms the Cruciatus curse to long on a victim it can cause their minds to go insane. I would also like to add to what APH said about the Imperius Curse. Resisting the Imperius Curse is possible, but extremely difficult. Only those of particularly strong will can achieve it. "

The killing curse; Avada Kedavra. Kills the victim instantly. Very nice explanation Miss Yvette! 5 points to Slytherin! And, as you said, the unforgivable curses are some of the most powerful. In fact, they are the most powerful spells know to witches and wizards. Yes, you must really mean these curses in order to achieve performing them correctly.

The torture curse; Crucio. Very good description Mr Telvanni! 5 points to Gryffindor! This curse causes very intense pain to the victim and if the curse is powerful, or as you said, its duration is long, he or she can be driven into insanity.

The Imperius Curse: Imperio. This curse gives the caster complete control of the victim. It is indeed possible to resist this curse, but it is very difficult and great force is needed in order to do so. Out of the three unforgivable curses, the imperius curse is the only one that can be resisted.

The leg-locker curse, which can be performed using te incantation Locomotor Mortis, causes the victims' legs to lock together. Its effect is similar to the one of the body bind curse, Petrificus Totalus, which freezes the victims' body.

Does anyone have a subject they wish to discuss? A spell, curse, or a creature perhaps? Can anyone name me a dark creature?
