Avery became quiet and just started thinking, taking at least 30 seconds out of every five minutes to complain about something... mostly her jeans. They were also too big, she kept finding herself pulling them up. and accidentally stepping on the hem. These were bought with the money from Toby's pocket, she couldn't just devalue them that quickly after they were bought. She would go home, where ever home was right now, and change into that floral skirt that she'd been wanting to wear for a long time. Avery had bought that a while ago, maybe... two years? Apparently she hadn't grown at all, because it still fit when she tried it on periodically. She would wear it, step out of the house, and chicken out. She couldn't pull it off at school.

But this was a new place, full of new people and places to explore. Maybe she would not be made fun of so quickly here. Maybe the people were nice.

She froze, hearing some sword noises. A... short sword? She furrowed her eyebrows in thought, but turned her attention back to the pressing matter at hand... someone was trying to kill her? The fairy? Did... she do something wrong? No... it was some random guy! No! He just ruined her day! This was supposed to be a place where she could be alone, not be bothered by some guy training.

Avery slinked quietly through the grass and got her shoes from the shine, and tried to silently escape the area without being noticed, because everyone knew being seen equals conversation. It was just common sense, really. With wedges in hand, she traveled silently, turning back periodically to make sure the man's back was still turned to her. Quietly, quietly... She wanted to avoid talking at all costs.

Ari finished up, deciding he wasn't rusty, and slid his sword back into it's sheathe. Then, he turned around, and his eyes locked with someones. He obviously didn't know them, but he kept his eyes on the person for about fifteen seconds, before sighing and flopping down on the grass, laying down on his back.

If that person was leaving, it wasn't like he was going to stop them. He yawned, and continued to lay on the grass, making absolutely no move to talk to or go after the other person. Ari wasn't nosy, and he honestly didn't mind that she had seen him training. He was just happy he was still good with his sword.

Then he heard a snap. A branch? He jumped to his feet, and looked towards the person. It had come from... Behind them? No, in front of them. He looked a ways in front of the person, and saw... A wild cat!? What on earth!? It was getting ready to charge too!

He got to his feet, and darted over to the person, luckily they weren't far away. He pulled out his sword, and just as the cat pounced, he hit it with the hilt of his sword, stunning it, before smacking it with the flat of his blade, and sending it scurrying away. The cat was smart, and knew when it couldn't win.

Ari then turned around to the person behind him, but kept his sword out in case that cat tried again. "Are you okay?" He asked, his british accent clear.

Avery was almost back onto the dirt path that marked where the field ended. She just needed to make it until then, because then the man would not be able to see her. She heard a growl from behind her though, and turned around... Something was trying to kill her. Avery studied the animal, it seemed to be a bobcat, a lynx sort of animal that inhabited mixed forests.

Avery took a step backwards as the bobcat took one forward, and tripped over a small rock and landed on the ground. Apparently the guy that was swinging a sword around randomly had heard the noise of the bobcat. He hit the cat with the hilt of his sword, and it ran away. Avery nodded to the man, acknowledging him. Then he started talking. British accents were so cool. :'D Avery was not prepared for this... she needed to sound... cool or something.

She gave up after three seconds, she wasn't really cool and probably could never act like it. She picked herself off the ground and dusted off her dark jeans.

Avery tried to look at the man confidently, and mustered up the most natural girl voice she could. Hers was a little bit high, and she didn't like that.

"Yes. I'm alright." Because of that sword. Weren't they illegal or something? She could've sworn she read something about that in the handbook/brochure of the island. Avery nodded again, trying to assure herself that the situation would be okay. She squeezed her hands into fists and stood up straight, out of sheer nervousness. It wasn't often that she engaged in conversation.

Avery just stood there, feeling the awkwardness. It was just like school all over again. It wasn't her fault that she didn't like conversation. Actually, it was.

Ari was about to reply when the cat came back and tried to bite his leg. He side stepped, and ended up simply punting the thing back into the grass. Luckily it decided not to come out again. It did, however, end up poking a hole in his shoe. Pity, they were good shoes too.

His red hair was slightly messed up now from having to turn so quickly, but he didn't mind. It honestly didn't bug him that much anyways.

He turned back to the girl, nodding at her. Then, after a moment, he smiled. "You're pretty cool, most people I know would've screamed when they saw that cat." He said, complimenting her. It was true, that was pretty awesome of her, and if you looked in his scarlet eyes, you could see that he meant it too.

Avery's breath wavered, couldn't this little talk just be over? That would be nice, she would have to say. She sighed, and tried to put her hands in her pockets, but failed, and just left them awkwardly on her sides. Was it starting to get hot in here?

"No, i-it was not something to worry about." Well... now she had to give a reason why, right? That was how it went. She took a deep breath and twiddled her thumbs. Her arms just on her side bothered her. "It was just a bobcat. They normally feed on small rodents, n-n-not humans." She cleared her throat. Not this stutter again.

She took this time to put her shoes back on, making her a couple inches taller. Ah, now she was normal height. It sucked being short. The only good thing about heels was that they made you taller. Too bad she wouldn't be wearing them all that often.

Now to thank the man and take her leave-- no, that would be rude. Avery didn't really like people (obviously) and made her interactions with them as short as possible.

"Really? Well, I suppose I wouldn't be the one to know, my cousin's the vet in the family." He said. Lirian was far better at this stuff than he was. Still, it was pretty interesting.

Oh, did she stutter? Maybe is was the after shock. Plenty of people would stutter after almost getting attacked by a bobcat. He had to hand it to her though, it was pretty impressive that she hadn't freaked out when the cat had tried to attack her. Even Lirian would have freaked out some, and she had a sword too!

Well, this girl seemed pretty shy though... Did she want to talk, or was she trying to finish the conversation? Ari had no idea, so it was best just to let this play out.

How long had it been since she had come here? Over a year... in fact, the last time was when she had moved back to the island... four years ago! She had been so busy with Gaston and everything that she had almost completly forgoten about doing that. She used to come here once a week, then once a month, and now it wasn't even once a year. She should feel ashame. Stocking Day had reminded her of it; yet she had waite almost a whole seasong before doing it. Shame on her, shame on her... Gladice walked next to the little shrine dedicated to the wind fairy. Of course she knew fairies existed. She was a native of the island afterall and had seen them on a couple of occasions in the past. Yes, a very long past, but still.

She had a small bouquet of lilies in her hands, which she placed on the top of the shrine. She closed her eyes and gave a small praying, thanking the fairies for everything they had ever done and for everything they would do in the future, as well as saying she was sorry for not coming there sooner. It was almost completely her fault for not finding the time co come here afterall. The other part being Gaston's. Seriously, she would blame the man for everything and anything. Burned herself on the over? Gaston. She wouldn't have been so distracted if she hadn't been thinking of his latest stupidity. Saw a kid slip on ice? Gaston's! He should have made a better organizations to put salt on the sidewalk to melt the ice! Such recklessness! Half the town was being thrown in jail by Romane? Still Gaston's! He should have more police officer, cutting her some slack. Indeed, every single one of the problems on the island could be traced back to the stupid mayors of them.

She opened her eyes and thanked the fairies once more before leaving. She should start coming here more often again. Who knows, she might just see Lily...

Celeste walked closely beside Robert as they had left the ruins, hopefully to head for the town. She was tired of the shrines, tired of being angry, and tired of being afraid. So, even though Robert was the one who constantly found the shrines, he was the one who would get her back to town, and he was big and strong and going to save her from the dark. She mentally snorted at herself.

They had left the ruins and were now in what appeared to be a field? Did that mean they were going the right direction? She turned to Robert expectantly. "Does this mean we are getting close? Do you know where we are yet?" So sure, she may have sounded a litle desperate to get this trip over with, but honestly, who wouldn't be in her position. Still, she didn't want Robert to get the wrong opinion. She gave him a smile. "It's been a long night. I'm sure you're tired by now too."

I looked around, trying to see where I was. We were out of the forest, that much was clear, but... where exactly had we ended? It was an open field, and to my knowledge, the only field in town was... "Oh! Yes, I know where we are. My house is actually close to here... but, you live at the inn right? It's still a bit further. It's one of those two roads there... right next to....oh, you guessed it already." Yup, it was another shrine! Just how many were there on this small island? I left out a sigh as I walked closer to the shrine to look at it. I didn't even waited for Celest reply. This was getting repetitiv. There was one name that was very clear on it. There was no way I could be misreading it. "Gladice LeBlanc. She's the Town Rep. Do you think she's the one who put all those shrines around?" I had asked her a question, but I could see that she didn't wanted to wait any longer. I kept walking down the road, wasting no time with the shrine... that is, until we've arrived at a cross road. "Left or right?" I didn't knew, but I was sure that she would lead me where I really needed to go. Would it be the inn, or anywhere else.

♬ Rhapsody Skysong ♫

User ImageRhapsody had decided to take a ride in the wilderness earlier this morning. After all it helped Donnas stretch his muscles and allowed some bonding time with her and Donnas. She ahd coem to the field and was currently taking off his tack. Seeing as how there were few people here she had wanted to let him run wild. As Rhapsody sat down, she watched Donnas bound and leap to the sky. She could tell he was enjoying himself very well. her smile went to laughter as donnas got on all four and rolled in the grass like a dog would. He could be gentle and sweet when he wanted to be. Her arms wrapped themselves around her knees as she leaned against the saddle and made sure he did not do anything reckless. A half hour here did wonders for her and Donnas she saddled him up and began riding into the woods.

After a brisk meeting in the front yard of the mayor's mansion, Junior was slowly following what.. what he hoped to be possibly his first friend that could actually hang out with him during lunch! Not Molly who wasn't as nice as Junior had thought she was, but someone who would play with him and.. and other stuff! The little girl – er, boy? He wasn't sure.. Angelina had a girl's name, sounded like a boy, but she said she was a girl, though she acted like both at times. Junior wanted to pull down her pants and check for himself, because he had learned from his auntie that that was how you could tell the difference between a girl and a boy, but he refrained from it. If only because it was rude, but the thought of going on his knees to pull down someone else's pants gave him a nauseating feeling in his stomach. ..Were they even pants, though? They looked more like really long.. thick stockings.. Junior was fascinated by the girl's clothing style, which seemed boring in comparison to his coat and jeans. He bit his lip, tempted to ask the Swedish girl about it, but he once again stopped himself. He wasn't sure how the girl would take a question like that – would she be angry..? Maybe.. Probably.. Junior didn't know when he did something wrong, so he couldn't trust his own judgment for whether an action was right or not. In the end, he always played it safe and went for 'wrong', which often resulted in him doing absolutely nothing of his own initiative.. or being lead out to a field with a child he had just met.

He fiddled with the end of his jacket nervously and looked at the young girl, “A-ah..!” He started to say, before blue eyes turned to him with a childish smile. He shut his mouth while, in that thick accent he had trouble understanding, the girl told him to stay as she ran off to get a stick from the nearby woods. She had claimed she would be back shortly, but.. it still left Junior standing alone in the field with nothing to do but pluck grass from the ground. He frowned in the quiet and glanced at the church in the distance, then back to where the town could be seen through the trees. Finally, he settled for sitting down in the tall grass and watching the shrine from where he sat in wait for Angelina to come back.

He wasn't just out in the fields for no reason. He had been watching the mayor's son very closely after his capture of his beloved fiance. The boy seemed like a vulnerable target. Easy too. Damarko saw that he had seated in the tall grass all by his lonesome self. The man smiled wickedly and began venturing over to the lone boy. His large manly feet crunched the tall grass as he came closer and closer in proximity. Finally he stopped to leave space between them.

"Hello," he spoke out. "What are you doing out here all by yourself?"

Blond strands combed to perfection in place and sprayed solid so they didn't come out of order, sparkly blue eyes drawn with wonder to near anything around little Angelina, his love and passion for anything that existed was to no depth, except next to chocolate. He drooled a little bit, the drool was dealt with by his sleeve that smeared across his face. Why, he even admired the sticks he plucked about the ground. They were beautiful, weren't they? Or well, they used to be part of something beautiful. He smiled with admiration to the once pretty twigs to a tree and tucked them in his arms. Why he was collecting sticks, no clue, he just was – sticks were cool anyways. They could have lots of fun with sticks! Build little stick houses for little stick people, with little stick pets! Turning on heel, he hurried back to where his soon to be friend was!

"I got many stick for us!”"

He called out in that very girlish voice of his, singing it merrily as he came into the clearing. Why shout when you can sing? People like to hear singing much more then they do shouting, he knew he sure did! Though what he saw, was unexpected and he dropped a stick on accident. Poor stick. A man was talking to his soon to be friend! Ohh, maybe he was one of soon to be friends friend, and they were all gonna play together! Coming forward, he came very, very close to the man. "You like stick, mister? We can play, is very fun."

He was surprised to see this boy. . or girl? becoming so friendly with him. Normally kids were taught to not speak with strangers, right? This one didn't follow the rules though, and didn't make the game very fun. The child was being too easy, but he needed to take him if were is to go out about the mishaps of Nirvani.

"I do like sticks. They are very useful, but I tell you what. I know something that is way more fun than sticks." Damarko got down on one knee so that he was closer in height to the child. "I have a big house that we can play hide and seek in. There are all ready other player waiting for us and more are coming! Would you like to play? I can help you find the best hiding spot in the whole house."

Junior had looked up from his spot when the man approached him and, had he been a more vocal person, would have screamed. ..Yes, he was that jumpy. No one could blame him! ..Alright, maybe he could get a lot of blame, but he just wasn't used to walking around alone without Zap. He had misplaced the rock since he first saw the ***** at ran home to Tess – but, he wasn't in a real hurry to get the object back.. Zap was going to be so mad when he found him! He could already hear the insults being thrown at him for being so stupid as to drop the rock and run when the ***** weren't ever going to notice him anyway.. Ah, and there was another reason as to why he felt his heart race and his breathing stop at once when he was spoken to. No one ever spoke to him. It was weird for someone, outside of auntie, to notice he existed! The fact that it was an adult made it scarier. He was about to mutter something to the man, explain that he wasn't alone since Angelina was in the woods just around there, but then the girl.. or boy.. had come running back out before he could force himself to speak. He creased his brow and chewed on his lip as Angelina approached the man. He swallowed while they spoke, wanting to protest the interruption of their games by some weird man.

..A weird man that reminded him.. of those other weird men inside his home awhile back. He bit his lip harshly and his eyes started to widen, the fingers fumbling with the edge of his jacket stopped. Bullet. He swallowed again, but dryly as a result. Angelina. “Ah..” He sputtered out to get the attention, but it came off too soft. So, he repeated it, “Ahm!” ..Was that too loud? He wanted to apologize, but he was a little too startled with himself to do that. Instead, he slowly, very slowly, edged to stand by Angelina, taking her hand tightly, not to be firm but because doing something like this was scary. “W-we're.. we've.. g-gotta go out. T-to, ah, um, the.. the church.. There's, um.. er.. there's a.. lot of people there.. with guns.” He ended softly, his eyes having lowered during that oh so frightening bluff. “..S-sorry..” ..Well. At least he tried.
