Quest Time!
Medeine is the strangest Fable it seems, with her little quirks and special abilities. But as the Piper is watching, he is curious if Medeine knows what her true tale is.
The challenge for Medeine is to discover herself; does she know her true tale to marry, or have the fay kept it from her? What does she do about it, if she is reminded it is to come to fruition?
Good luck..!

Quote: Medeine was not the type of girl to abandon a friend, she simply had been gone for an extremely long time on that roadtrip, after Piper had told her that she must marry. She hadn't, and now she was a leggy, breasty, teenager, with an agenda. She was going to do her best to ruin any and ALL of the Pied Piper's plans for the Fables. The girl hummed to herself as she wandered through the park, actually on her way to see Ravji, one of her oldest looking friends. However, the sight of a young boy that she knew, staring off at nothing caught her attention. Mede approached him.
"... Rora?"
Aurora flinched at the sound, he had thought he had been alone, as he turned at the voice that sounded faimlar, his eyes were wide with shock as his gaze fell upon a very busty looking teenager, her golden hair cascading down umoungst her shoulders he turned around fully. Who was this girl? she looked familar....
"... Why, dear Aurora? Thou dost not recognize my visage? I do not fault thee, for I hath grown indeed."
No one could mistake THAT pattern of speech though. A grin lit her pretty face, and she held out a hand.
"I have not forgotten thee, in spite of my new attributes. Afterall, once upon a time, thee saved me from a freezer monster."
She chuckled at the fond, if odd, memory.
A gaze of reconigtion spread through his visage and he smiled and threw his arms around Mediene in a somewaht girlish fashion. "Mediene!" he cried out in joy, though he seemed to have his face somewhat smushed up against her chest, he didn't even seem to be abashed about that fact. Aye yes Aurora was still naive and fairly innocent and pure. "I have missed you dearly, though you have grown without me knowing i see."
Medeine's laughter was musical, and she squeezed the boy in her arms, not caring about which body parts were touching. As a girl who was loving of nature, she was very aware of herself as a sexual being, but, she wasn't a *****, and therefore payed no mind to what Aurora touched.
"I hath missed thee too, 'Rora. I hath indeed been gone far too long."
Aurora looked up tears streaked down the sides of his cheeks though his smile was broad and a happy he snuggeled against Mediene feeling as if he had just found his hope once more. "Mediene where have you been? you have been gone so long..." he trailed off trying not to sound like he was blaming her for her sudden dissapearance...he was at fault for not getting in touch sooner. "Please tell me of your journies!" he continued excitedly.
Medeine sat on a stone bench, actually pulling Aurora onto her lap, and holding him, stroking his hair absent-mindedly.
"Well, I could not find thee anywhere, so Aekepi accompanied me, and we journeyed first to Mexico, then Australia. On the boat to Australia, he told me... Of his love toward me, but I hath no answer for him.
"Upon reaching the white sands, he was struck with poison by a furred creature, and I went in search of a cure."
The teen grinned, and shook her head.
"That was when I met Charming. She awoke me from my nap with a kiss, and joined me, helping me find Aekepi's cure."
After delivering it, Aekepi was flown home by helicopter, and Charming assured me that I'd see her again. So I returned home."
It seemed Aurora had been left out of the loop somewhat. Akepei confessed his love to Meidene as well? That boy seemed to have no quams with how Aurora had gently if naively put him down.
"Charming?" he asked the name seeming to ring some sort of warning bell in his system though he couldn't figure out why. "Is she nice? What does she look like?" he asked feeling like a wee child beeing coddeled by Mediene, though he didn't mind, in fact he was apprecaiting the company and the attention. Some small part of him felt a bit sad, as if he had lost Mediene even though she was right there. His emotions were confusing...he would ignore them for the moment.
"Very nice, although not in the way one might expect... Thee shalt see what she looks like, when she rejoins me.... I fear that I am lonesome. 'Tis not an ache I felt before... But now... I have none to fill that void. I suppose I could have Aekepi, but at this time... I don't want to. It won't feel right. So I am alone."
Perhaps Aurora had lost her, because she'd almost lost herself.
Looking into her eyes he felt some part of him reach out to her. "But..." he started and then went silent, struggling to find words to fit the raging emotions in his head. "I ...want to apologize for leaving you alone.,." he started gathering his courage to figure out things for himself. "I myself feel like you...alone, but upon realizing this I am not. I won't let you be alone Mediene. I promise I won't let you be alone, not again. Can you ever forgive a child who had just seen the light?"
Blinking rapidly in surprise, the teen's husky voice was soft, and she bent forward to press a kiss against Aurora's cheek.
"Of course.... I left thee behind myself, and for that, I also apologize. We are the same, thee and myself, and must realize this, and stick together."
A small smile, and she raised an eyebrow.
"I hath many a new friend, but none like thee. How dost thou fair with thy other companions?"
Aurora looked a bit saddened. His heart ached on that subject. "I...have not seen them in many a moon. I tried to get ahold of Aekepi, but have not received a reply and the abscene of Kinnara is like a wound to my heart. I hath not seen many others...though i know there are many more fables around." He felt himself starting to slip into Mediene's way of speech, he thought it cute and only snuggeled into her embrace letting her run fingers through his hair. He wanted to grow up...wanted to catch up to Meidene go places with her and be by her side. "Mediene...can i ask a personal question?"
"I hath met several new friends many a time... Lord Tasius, Lady Flerida, dear Ravji, young Aekepi, not too mention... Others."
Pausing, her blue gaze met his, and she smiled brilliantly.
"Of course thee may."
Aurora blinked serverl times as if something had gotten into them, "If i stayed by your side ....would you .." he stopped not sure where he was going with this. All these emotions made no sense to him. For all that he was, he never really understood love, his innocence was perserved by his isolation, he didn't want to be alone anymore. "Could I stay by your side? Please? I won't be a burden...I learn how to be a real man, so I can protect you.." he continued rambling on, not knowing what he meant or what he was trying to accomplish
Medeine was quiet for a long time, then slowly let Aurora down off her lap, seating him next to her. Taking his smaller hand in her slim one, she squeeze, smiling over at him.
"Briar."
The new name she would call him, to go with his new outlook on life.
"Thee art never a burden onto me, nor shall thee ever be. Thou art already becoming a real man, hath no fear."
But the answer to his question? That was the simplest thing to answer of all.
"Of course, thee belong at my side. I would never dream of separation."
Somehow despite everything relief flooded through him. Tears sprang forth and he attempted to hurriedly brush them away. "Mediene, I thankyou. It feels now like I have a purpose...or a goal of somesort. I want to be a Prince someday...I want to help others, and I want to start with you." he said turning his face to look up at her. He felt so small next to her he didn't know what to say or do.
"I will hurry and grow up for you Mediene...I want you to never be alone again."
"I... Thee hath done me a great service, Briar.... Only Lord Tasius is of my age, and we... Have a confusing relationship."
The fingertips of her other hand brushed hair from Aurora's face and she chuckled.
"Thee art a true friend, and I anxiously await thy growth."
He leaned his head against her arm, and let out a slow breath, "Mediene is Tasius the dragon kin boy? I think i remember him breifly...I sang him to sleep once." he recalled the memory of the draogn boy sharply. It was one of those days of voilence. HE would have to learn to deal with it if he wished to protect Mediene. He swung his legs on the ben ch back and forth child-like but truest to his nature. "I would wish to make more friends...thus how do i go about doing that Mediene?"
"Ah... Yes, he is of the flesh of Dragons... When he choked me upon the day of thy song, he did no harm. He is... Not like the others like us."
A small, somewhat affectionate smile, and Medeine glanced at the ground and back to Aurora. She had a strange understanding and attachment to Tasius, one that many didn't accept or understand. Like Aekepi.
"All thee hath to do is meet them, Briar. I shall take thee with me to do so another time, mmmn?"
A glance at the sky, and she saw she was running very late.
"I am sorry to say I must depart thee."
Aurora looked a bit disheartened byt the anouncement but he wouldn't let his feelings bog her down or make her feel guilty. He had already taken enough of her time already. "Aye it is late. Perhaps I can come and meet you soon? We can go do things together, or intorude me to your new friends." he said forcing a smile onto his lips so that he would burden her with his sadness or this breif visit.
Medeine pulled the boy into a hug, kissing his forehead and got to her feet, nodding slowly, charming smile in place.
"Yes... Soon, later this week perhaps?"
Waving her fingers, she disappeared into the parks foliage, much like the fay that'd raised her.
He watched as she dissapeared and felt a renewed sense of hope. He would not give up on his dreams. He would protect Mediene even at the cost of his life. Turning he danced away humming a song to himself in which the birds joined him in song.

Mede and Tas: ON A PLANE, I mean, MISSION! No one else was residing nearby where the dragon slept, nor did anyone wish to. The Lord's home was his own, and as the 'great Tasius' slept, all was safe.
Well, until the branch under him cracked dangerously, making him shift, a narrowed eye opening. "What-"
Craack - CRASHSLAM. Down went the dragon.
Immediantly tinkling laughter floated through the trees, Medeine's hand slipping up to cover her mouth, stifling the noise as she regarded Tasius, one brow raised, blue eyes filled with merriment. She didn't help the male up, instead leaning against a tree, arms now above her head, one hand holding the other's wrist. As usual, she wore a skirt, white, short, flowing, and a longsleeved dark shirt. In her eyes, the dragon was a harmless, silly boy, whom, if she admitted it to herself, she rather happened to like. She HAD almost kissed him the last time they'd spoken, hadn't she?
"Ahh, Lord Tasius, such grace thy always show!"
Tasius grinned. "You're as pretty as ever." Righting himself, he regained his footing, his toes digging into the earth through his sandals. "I've missed you." He seemed... different, and his eyes glanced away, towards the place he had been half-looking. "Missed your odd sense of humor, anyway..." Tasius muttered, his wings folding flat against his back.
Thrown off by his... Nice greeting, rather than his usual rude behavior, for once, she had nothing to say, blinking rapidly a few times, opening her mouth, then shutting it once more. After a pause, she shook her head, eyes hitting the dirt beneath her bare feet, rather than examine his toothy grin any longer.
"Refrain from speaking in such a manner, Lord Tasius! One would almost think us friends!"
A husky chuckle and the blonde pushed away from the tree, brushing past him to walk into a sunlit clearing, her back toward him, a sign of fearlessness, really. Blue eyes narrowed on the dark green stalks of grass, and she stood a moment, debating whether or not she'd sit, stand, or be comfortable and lie down. Stupid Tasius.
"I'm worried." He stated simply, shoulders sagging. Something was on his mind entirely, and he turned, staring at her with his golden eyes. "Something is amiss... and seeing as how you hate the Piper..." His gruffness returned, and his pride stopped him from speaking any more. Shaking his head, Tasius seemed to change his mind.
"Nevermind, I was wrong. Forget I said anything." He turned and walked in a random direction.
This, she was used to, and in a way that he generally disliked, her hand shot out, to grab his forearm, simply to halt him, and she fell into place beside him, willing to walk, albeit at a slower pace.
"I do not care enough for the manipulative man to hate him, I simply despise him. Tasius..."
She paused, frowning slightly, and corrected herself.
"Lord Tasius, what disturbs thee? Thou doth know I will not share thy secrets."
"I know." Tasius' shoulders sagged again, and he walked slower to match her pace. It took a great deal of effort on his part to finally ask the questions that so plagued his mind, and when he did, they came out in a harsh, bitter, and aggrivated tone.
"Am I man, or am I dragon?!"
"Neither, thou art a god, Tasius."
For once she wasn't smiling, although her tone was light. Sense of humor? This time she was serious, although her words were somewhat amusing. Letting go of his arm, she frowned, brow creasing slightly. She tried to avoid asking herself the same questions he was speaking aloud, and it soothed her slightly to know others had these thoughts.
"At least thou art something."
Tasius was about to remark something stupid, but stopped, his lips turning into a kind of quirky smile. "You're something as well. I... appreciate your honestly." Forcing the stoic frown on his face again, Tasius continued to walk.
And suddenly, she was laughing again, choosing that moment to link her arm though his and steer him toward the river bank, away from the box she'd opened. He'd never asked about that, so he might not have known.
"We do indeed make an odd pair, Lord Tasius! What would the others say, mmmn?"
Speaking of others. She was getting tired of their young angst. Tasius, for once, was refreshing. At least he didn't fawn over her constantly.
"To hell with the others. All they care about is hormones. I, however, have much bigger plans." He stopped at the river's bank, stepping away to leap upon a rock, crouching as his eyes so lovingly stared into the sky.
"Have you ever wanted to... fly, Medeine?"
"Anyone without wings wishes to fly, Tasius."
A small, real smile, and she also tilted her head up, to see the sky. It was late in the afternoon now, approaching dusk, and the sky was tinted with color. She liked it that way, tainted. Purity was no fun.
"Plans, Lord Tasius? We all have plans. They rarely go through."
Tasius smirked. "Ah, but mine will... for I have wings, you see." He unfurled them from his back, glancing down at the water. "Someday... I'm going to leave the Piper and that Fable. They'll all see."
"If thou doth escape, take me with thee, if only for a short while. I should like to taste freedom once more, before they marry me off."
She meant her roadtrip. The blonde had LOVED it. Still, the would attempt to marry her, something she definately didn't want. Her time was running out, really.
"... marry?" Tasius raised an eyebrow, grinning and showing his fangs. "You have to get married?" It was then that he glanced her over, smirking at her attire. "Well, you do look the part..."
Her pretty face darkened, and she actually struck out at him, fist moving quickly toward his jaw. Medeine would not enter into marriage with some dandy of Piper's choosing, nor would she be mocked about such things! The nerve of him!
"Close thy mouth, Tasius! Speak not of what thee know nothing about!"
Jerking aside to avoid her punch, Tasius' eyes widened. She was fast, and he imagined that she packed quite a punch. "I would know nothing about it, considering I've been trapped in a box the last decade..." He muttered, nearly falling off his rock.
Her fist unclentched, and she blinked, shooting him a startled look before hiding it quickly behind false amusement.
"A box, mmmn? What sort of box?"
Absentmindedly, she pulled him safely onto the rock, now on it as well, and sat, wrapping her arms around her knees.
"Wooden, can stretch to any size... I trapped Fable in there." Tasius muttered, dipping his feet in the water. "She deserved it. I didn't want any more kids to come. Wishful thinking, huh?" He grimaced, examining his fingers. "Though I imagine whatever else has been collected in the box has eaten her by now..."
"Ah..."
Clearing her throat, she gave him a sheepish look from below her lashes, cheeks coloring.
"Or... not... Was it beside a cliff...? It opened rather easily and... Well, then Piper came, and we fought, and I left before I got to look inside, and..."
Tasius's wings had flared out, his eyes widening. "You what?!" He cried, this time falling completely into the water. Smoke drifted from his nostrils, and he glanced up at her, eyes completely narrowed. "I..." He crouched in the water now, tail lashing. This wasn't good.
She flinched, bet then to counteract her fear, became agressive, shouting and sitting up on her knees to jab a finger in the air violently.
"It's not MY fault! If thee had put some sort of notification on it...! Or a safer location!"
After a moment, she fell silent again, and slumped down onto the rock, sighing.
"It IS my fault..." Raine Eternal: "It's as much yours as it is mine, Mede." Tasius muttered, glowering down at the water. His tail stopped, and he sulked. PantherKajja: "We'll just have to fix it."
A firm nod, and she smiled, getting to her feet, and dusting off her skirt.
"Out of the water now, Tasius, we have things to do."
It seemed, he was no longer her lord.
Nodding, Tasius rose, taking her hand and pressing his palm to hers. "It's about time you called me as I am."
Medeine nodded, still slightly embarassed about opening his box, and squeezed the older teen's hand, turning as she prepared to lead the way to where she remembered the box being.
"So... A decade...? Why?"
"Because a fool succeeded in taking my belongings, and then trapping me because a king wanted it done." He reached down, scratching his stomach. "He was rather delicious, though I wished I'd have caught the fool, instead."
Now she spun back to face him, lips parted in disbelief, eyes wide, and brows raised.
"Thou ATE him?!"
And people thought SHE was a weird person! The thought of Tasius eating a man didn't really disturb her, and her low horrified murmur slipped from her throat.
"Tell me thee did not devour the clothing too!"
"... clothing and all." An eyebrow raised as Tasius stared at her like she was crazy.
"That's just FOUL Tasius! Thou had better have brushed thy teeth!"
Muttering something about uncouth males, she shook her head and turned her back to him, dragging him by his hand further into the foliage.
"Um, okay..." Blinking as he was pulled after her, Tasius looked quite a bit confused, reaching up with his free hand to rub his teeth idly. How was it foul, if he did things that normal dragons did? He remembered there being other dragons that ate knights and the such... how was he any different?
When the finally reached the area, she jabbed a finger at the open box, her expression troubled.
"Well, go take a look."
"... oh." Tasius muttered, walking up to the box and shoving the lid aside, staring down into the eerie blackness. It wasn't long before he tapped twice on the inside of the box, reducing it and the lid to a small size. Retrieving the lid, he fit it on easily, before shoving it into his pocket.
"Hmm..."
"'Hmm...?' WHAT, Tasius ?!"
"It's nothing." Tasius muttered, curling his toes and glancing around. "But we'd better split up... cover more ground looking for this... thing."
Sounding irritated at his reflective manner, she folded her arms across her chest, tapping her toes on the ground anxiously, eyes now resting on his pocket.
"Thing?"
Now she raised her head, frowning.
"I thought it was just Fable...? What... Thing?"
"There was something much darker in that box..." His head turned to look at her stoically. "And you let it out..."
"Yes, yes, I KNOW I let it out! But HOW do I get it back in?! And what in the hells of this realm was it doing in thy box?!"
Oh dear, that stubborn stance, the glare. She wasn't moving until she got SOME sort of an answer.
"You think I know?!" Tasius shot back, glaring right back as he shifted his legs apart, grounding himself should she try to attack.
Instead, she simply made a 'hrmph!' noise, and spun on her heel, retorting.
"It IS thy damned box."
Then she was off, stomping though the trees, pissy.
"... whatever," Tasius muttered, huffing out a lick of flame as he walked off in his own direction, deep in thought.
Right on cue, Medeine's girlish scream rang out. One, if she hadn't of been scared to death, she would have laughed scathingly at. Mede was no screamer. The girl was frozen, staring at a giant web inbetween two large oaks. This wasn't what had shocked her so badly, no. It was the three skeletons attached. Worse, because they weren't quite skeletons. Instead, brittle flesh clung to bone, the fluids having been sucked out. Dear lord.
Stiffening, Tasius whirled around and launched right to where Medeine was, grabbing her by the back of her dress and yanking her back, mouth open to give a nasty retort. "What on earth are you screaming about-" His eyes caught the web, and he stared at it, snorting.
"Well, I suppose we've ... found it."

Back At Mede's Pad Sitting on the toilet seat in the bathroom, Tasius amused himself with the tub of half-full water, splashing his feet in it as any little kid would. His black hair fell over his shoulders, and he didn't heed the dragonskin that was hanging over his head, slowly sliding down as if eating him.
Nope. Typical teenage boy, oblivious to all, not a care in the world.
Medeine had been sitting on the couch for about ten minutes now. Waiting. And... Was that running water? What the ********, Tasius. Standing, she raised a brow, and wandered to the bathroom, knocking lightly on the door.
"Come OUT of there, Tasius."
Loser. It was if he'd never been inside a HOUSE before, when they'd shown up, and she tolerated it, at first. Just like when she'd come out of the woods, and been fascinated with anything modern, but really. They had more important things to do than play with the faucet.
Tasius smirked to himself, leering at the doorway as he gave an especially big splash, making sure to get the floor especially wet. Things could wait; he was having fun. PantherKajja: Now she simply popped the lock on the door, and shoved it open, rudely walking in, and frowning at him, hands on her hips. He was playing in the bath. What the ********. Sighing, she rolled her eyes, and decided to be just as annoying back, grabbing the dragon skin hood and pulling it.
"Get OUT of my bathroom."
Certain things were sacred to a girl, dammit. Her bathroom was not to be messed with. Tugging at him again, she then grabbed a towel and through it on the ground.
"Wipe that mess up, first."
An arm wrapped around her waist, and he soon pressed her against the wall, forgetting about the water on the floor as well as the running faucet. "Awww, and ruin my fun...?" He smiled, his golden eyes leering as his lips were ever close to her own.
Medeine shut up. Staring up at the older teen for a long moment, she didn't know what to say, he'd pinned her so easily. Sure, she could shift to escape, but she really didn't want to. The blonde told herself it was because shifting took energy that she wasn't about to waste on Tasius, but that was a silly excuse. She liked this.
"Tasius..."
Her mouth opened slightly, about to say something, then she changed her mind and scowled at him, shoving at his chest to get him to back off, and bending toward the tub to shut off the water.
"Stop being juvenille. We have work to do."
"Tch. So cold." Tasius grinned as he watched all of her movements, before turning (and plodding through the water on the floor) and going into the main living room. He was still awed by all the contraptions, and he hadn't gotten to explore everything yet!
Spotting a lightbulb, Tasius reached out to touch it, making the thing singe his finger. Eyes widening, he pulled back hastily, sticking the appendage into his mouth with narrowed eyes. "Nathdy shing," The dragon glowered at it.
After dropping two more towels down to mop up the water, she followed him out and shook her head at his antics, leading him to the half of the room that served as a kitchen, and grabbing his hand from his mouth to run cold water over it.
"Thee art only going to hurt thyself. Now, art thou quite finished?"
Her fierce little scowl wasn't intimidating at all, unfortunately.
"No, I'm not finished. I'm just curious what else you have in here." Tasius muttered, wiggling his fingers under the water, his eyes still glancing about.
"FINE. I'll just show thee, and get it over with!"
Medeine shut off the water, and yanked open the fridgerator, showing him how the little light went on and off, and how it kept things cool, followed by the stove, which she smacked his fingers away from before he could touch it, then a vaccum cleaner, and since he'd seen the bathroom, and probably flushed the toilet to see how it worked, she rolled her eyes and led him to her bedroom.
"That's a real bed, if thou hath not seen one, heathen."
Snickering, she then grabbed the remote that'd rested on her pillow, and sat down, clicking on her televison, and glancing over to watch him.
Glancing over to her slyly, Tasius slowly shut the door, making sure to lock it before he started jumping on the bed, whooping softly. This was nothing like rolling in the fresh grass, but it would do.
"Do not JUMP on it!"
She looked rather scandalized, reflecting that he was like a small boy, albeit in a rather... Not small boy's body, and didn't even take note of him shutting the door, really. Instead she shot him a look, before pointing at the screen, and telling him to watch it. Xena: Warrior Princess. Ooer, her favorite.
"Is this that show with the females hot for each other?" Tasius sat down on the bed, bouncing a bit before stopping, his hands on either side of his face. "I didn't know you were into that."
Medeine rolled her eyes, but answered his question calmly.
"Xena and Gabrielle? I guess they are. And what doth thou care if I like girls? They're pretty."
Said with a smile. They were, after all. Medeine yawned, leaning back on her elbows to watch Xena do a warcry, and backflip to kick someone in the face. Man, if Medeine could do THAT... She'd rule the ******** world.
"And guys aren't?" He asked, reaching out to tangle his fingers in her hair, sticking out his tongue playfully.
"Well, thou art, I suppose. But girls are smarter as well."
A smirk to answer his face-making, and she glanced at him briefly, not minding the touch to her hair at all, really, and shrugging in a way that was a slight lift and drop of her shoulders.
"And nicer."
"Mmm. You aren't gonna scream again, are you?" Tasius muttered, his grin widening.
"Scream...?"
She looked a tad puzzled at the question, and her brows knit together as she tried to figure out what he meant by that. Why would she scream again? Did he find out something about the spider? Or dead people? It was OKAY for a girl to scream when she saw dead people, dammit! Was he going to tease her about that forever?
"Awww, you look so cute when you're confused." He smirked all the more, drawing her up into his arms and snuggling her tightly.
Medeine almost DID scream at that. Both the comment and the... Hug... Thing...? Was something WRONG with this boy? He was voluntarily touching her? And... In an affectionate fashion? This was... Really weird. Tensing up, she didn't move away, but simply stared up at him, tone even.
"What art thou doing, Tasius?"
"Hugging you, stupid. Unless you want me to go do other things, like play in the water again..." Ooh, that was a devilish grin Tasius had, his eyes shining.
"Stay away from my faucets, you damned dragon!"
She had said "you". Medeine had NEVER said the word "you" in her life. Never been able to before. Blinking in surprise as she registered her own words, she made a 'mmphing' sort of noise, and closed her mouth, eyes downcast.
"I'm telling everyone that Tasius loves to hug."
"Then I'll tell everyone that you speak in normal tongue," Tasius replied right back, showing his dragonlike fangs as he grinned widely.
"I don't care if you do. I've been TRYING to do it for a while now, stupid."
HRMPH. Stuck out her tongue at him, almost pouting. He was SUCH a brat, but jeeze... Se blinked at his fangs, jaw dropped slightly. Those looked really sharp, actually. Dangerous.
"Mmmm. If you say so." Closing his mouth, Tasius glanced up, eyes looking around cautiously. He'd have that habit for a while... one would think he'd never get used to living in a normal house.
Medeine, grumpy, wriggled away from him, and clicked off the TV, tossing the remote across the room, onto a comfortable looking chair. She hadn't really wanted to watch TV, she'd simply wanted him to see it. The blonde pulled off a hairtie she'd had around her wrist, and loosely tied back her hair, and folded her legs underneath herself, pointing a finger who's nail was painted a darkblue at Tasius.
"What are we going to do about Piper, Tasius?"
"What about him? Let him do what he wants. He knows what he's doing." Tasius crossed his arms, now grumpy as well now that she had moved away.
Her voice took on a darker tone, and she pounded a fist into her blanket, expression fierce. It was strange for Medeine to feel the way she did. Usually, she either liked, or loved a person. But Piper? He was different.
"I hate him."
After a moment, she must have realized how strange that sounded, because she cleared her throat, cheeks coloring slightly, and spoke again, changing the subject.
"If were weren't going to plan all this out, why'd you come over?"
Like, seriously. Stupid dragon.
"Because I've been worried about you, stupid." He muttered, his face becoming stoic as his eyes shifted to her, all playfulness aside. He was serious, and looked more like the age he actually was.
"....." Wow. She really wasn't sure what to say to that. Frowning slightly, the girl stretched out her legs, simply to cross them at the knee, beneath her skirt, avoiding his gaze with her own, blue eyes tracing the designs on her blanket. "I can take care of myself." Another pause, as that wasn't what she'd wanted to say, and the frown deepened. "Why?"
"Why not? You don't want Piper to care over you, nor do you Fable. So I suppose I'm the next best candidate." Tasius mimicked her move, stretching out his own legs before laying back on the bed, his arms reaching above him before he just lay there.
"Mmmn."
Turning to face him, she twisted her back, the stretch actually feeling good, and planted a palm on his chest, looking down at him with a slight frown once more.
"I suppose you are, indeed."
Medeine looked thoughtful for a moment, pulling on her bottom lip with her teeth, then shook her head slowly. "We make an odd pair, you and I..." She didn't know much about him, really. But she wanted to know... Everything. He was different than her other friends. Was he even a friend? She didn't know. Maybe an ally. Yes. An ally.
"If you consider me such." His tail flickered, and he closed an eye, peering at her curiously.
"I think I do."
Were they talking about what they seemed to be? Medeine didn't know anymore. Everything with Tasius seemed to have a second meaning. Doubletalk, Doubleact, Doublethink. Wasn't anything straight forward anymore?
"I suppose your my partner in crime, then?" Tasius raised his hand, finding her own and pressing his palm against hers. This time, he didn't have a double meaning for his words.
"Hopefully not just for crime."
Medeine turned her hand to squeeze his, before pulling away from the position she'd been leaning in, and hugging her knees up to her. She was rarely in her 'pad', as it was empty. That's why she'd chosen a small place, so it would seem fuller, but Medeine was a social creature. It was nice to have someone here with her, even if it was grumpy ol' Tasius. No, especially if it was grumpy ol' Tasius.
"Hmm? Howso?" The dragon tilted his head at her quizzically, mouth open slightly as he tried to guess what she meant.
"Nothing. Don't worry about it. You should go."
She smiled slightly, and got off of the bed, exiting the room. What the hell had just HAPPENED in there? Honestly. They were going insane, is what they were doing.
"I've... Got to get some sleep."
It WAS pretty late.
"Alone?" Tasius frowned, beginning to rise to follow her.
Now she raised an eyebrow, not believing he meant what she heard, and turned to blink at him, as if he were vapid.
"YES, Tasius, I sleep alone. Am I SUPPOSED to be sleeping with someone?"
"Well, I could keep watch while you slept," Tasius muttered a bit begrudgingly, grimacing as he clenched his teeth together. Honestly, what was with women these days?
".... You can't be serious."
Stare. Starestare. STARE SOME ******** MORE. What was with men, period? They'd ALWAYS been wacky, and Tasius was obviously no exception... Still... Not be alone? That was a nice offer.
"There's no need to 'keep watch'. Nothing's going to attack me. If you wanted to look at the appliances some more, you could have just asked, Tasius, you didn't need that excuse."
That's why he wanted to stay, wasn't it?
Tasius snarled. "Must you always be so aloof? Can't you just be the ******** fair maiden for once and allow someone else to rescue you?" His eyes narrowed.
She flinched as if struck, and turned away from him. It wasn't her fault that she looked the part, but didn't quite fit it. She'd tried, but something in her wouldn't bow down to Piper, to fate, or to anyone and he... Tasius of all people... She thought he'd understand that. And he'd... Cursed at her. He'd never done THAT before. Did it come with the territory. She tried to say something cutting back, something like 'I don't need rescuing by crude little boys', but it didn't come out. Instead, she gagged on the words, then shut her mouth, closing her eyes, holding it in. Holding everything in. What was wrong with her? No, not just her. All of them. The fables.
"Dammit, just for once... let me be the prince. I've never been the prince before, and... I think I love you, but I don't know." He raised his hand and gripped the bridge of his nose, looking pained. His tail flicked in agitation, but his wings crumpled, shaking from the wicked emotions that whirled inside of his head.
What was he thinking now?
"Alright, Tasius."
Her voice was soft, and she turned to face him, blue eys running over his face searchingly as her arms folded across her chest. The only way she was going to get through this... Strangeness was to simply accept it, until later, when she could scream at something, like the wall and hit that instead.
"What is it that prince's do, then? Show me."
What were they doing?
Now he just looked nervous. "I think... princes..." He looked away, agitated for the moment, before finally leaning forward and kissing her on the lips.
While it wasn't the smooth, perfect kiss of most 'princes', the attempt was nice, and Medeine raised her brows, not criticising him for once, and instead reaching over to take his hand, and lead him back down the hall from which they'd come, back to her room.
"Fine, Tasius. Be my prince tonight, and we'll deal with tomorrow when it gets here."
