Kimeti Name: Always on my mind Number of Kimeti: like. 19. and one kiokote Kimeti Gender: Colorist's Choice Inspirational Image: Swallowtail Butterflies RockWhy this moth/butterfly: I've always liked swallowtails. They'd fly by my house and I'd watch them when I was little. But they have amazing contrast in colors and I think it would make a very pretty/handsome kimeti :3 Additional Info: Pretty sure it's a tiger swallowtail or twin-tailed swallowtail. They all look the same *coughcough* But the fluttermeti would be flighty, easily distracted. It would have commitment issues. Would run from his/her problems. Eventually the fluttermeti would have to get over it. But it would be difficult to break his/her bad habits. He/she just wants to live life simply, and not to complicate things with responsibilites. He/she would stare at glimpses of the sky, wondering what it would be like to be a songbird soaring above. She/he heard rumors of the plains. And wants to live among the kiokote. running without care.

Kimeti Name: Rising Number of Kimeti: 0 Kimeti Gender: CC Inspirational Image: [ The eyes glow!!] [ RAWR!] [ Black and white!] Why this moth/butterfly: I was thinking of glass wing butterflies but like three people already picked those. As I was browsing the other butterfly sorts I noticed Mothra and well... I've always loved her. I'm leaving the gender CC and keeping the name non referential because I don't mean this as a cosplay. I just think the sort of bold markings she has would look pretty pretty on a kimeti. Additional Info: Oh gosh I don't know. I really have a hard time laying down real ideas for something I may not get. Her naming dream won't be a giant monster brawl as much as that would make me giggle. A flying dream maybe? Something to do with a stairway/mountainside/cliff?

Kimeti Name: Inner Peace Number of Kimeti: One Kimeti Gender: Colorist Choice because I couldn't make up my mind. Inspirational Image: Death's Head Moth : Silence of the LambsWhy this moth/butterfly: Because the movie Silence of the Lambs is badass. And, I think it's beautiful personally. It looks rather sinister. Additional Info: Death's Head Moth. The kimeti's personality would probably be dismal, gloomy. I haven't gotten it all worked out yet.

Kimeti Name: Headshot Number of Kimeti: A lot >> like..18Kimeti Gender: Buck! biggrin Inspirational Image: one | twoWhy this moth/butterfly: Besides the fact that it's pretty and it's fake-eyes are awesome? I've never actually seen this kind of moth before irl since they hail from madagascar, but it's quite colorful, more than most people might expect from a moth. Most of the ones I see are brown/gray/white/black.. and not very interesting to look at. I mostly just think that pattern on it's wings is really, really cool. The fact that they actually appear to be shiny and rounded like actual eyes is something I've never seen before on a moth or butterfly. Additional Info: This moth is called Antherina Suraka, or the Suraka Silkmoth, also sometimes called the Madagascan Bullseye Moth (for the pattern on it's wings). I'm not sure on his personality entirely, but I'm thinking something along the lines of being a little.. eccentric and odd, hence the name "Headshot". He'd probably be a really cool dude to hang out with, but he'd definitely be one to get some odd looks and eyebrow-raises.

Kimeti Name: Hide and Seek. Number of Kimeti: 6. Kimeti Gender: CC. Inspirational Image: 1, 2, 3. Why this moth/butterfly: It's an amazingly brilliant butterfly, yet when its wings are closed it masquerades as a common brown creature. Additional Info: Ulysses Butterfly (Papilio ulysses).

Kimeti Name: Petite Charm Number of Kimeti: 4 Kimeti Gender: Doe Inspirational Image: [x] [x] Why this moth/butterfly: The Karner Blue butterfly is a small butterfly whose lifecycle depends on the wild blue lupine flower and is an endangered species. I not only fell in love with it's beautiful colors but also the information as I read up on it and discovered that this lovely species could be extinct one day. Additional Info: Karner blue butterfly larvae benefit from a facultative, mutualistic relationship with several ant species. In pitch pine-bear oak habitat in New York, significantly more larvae tended by ants survived (67%) than untended larvae (38%). At sites in Wisconsin and Minnesota, ant tending rates increased significantly with increasing larval age. In a study of the effect of different experimental feeding treatments, Karner blue butterfly larvae tended by ants had one of the shortest observed larval durations and gained the most weight for the amount of lupine eaten.

Kimeti Name: Better Days Number of Kimeti: 7 Kimeti Gender: Colorist's choice Inspirational Image: Female Sunset Moth, Sunset Moth again, Vibrant colours, Wing closeup for detailWhy this moth/butterfly: The bright flash of colour in the black makes me think of a wish for better days, even when things seem bleak. I'm drawn to all moths, and I have to say, their sort of "fluffy wings" make me so happy. I was reading about them earlier, and the colours on their wings aren't real pigment, just the refraction of light. Apparently, according to wikipedia, it's because of the "ribbon-like scales" that cover its wings, for a couple different reasons. A side note that was interesting: in Malagasy, the national language of the Moth's endemic location, the word "lolo" is polysemous for "moth" and "soul." Additional Info: I feel like Better Days might be concerned with the transitional period in everything, and maybe kind of feel like there's some higher purpose he or she needs to reach. That's a guess, anyway xD;

Kimeti Name: Toxic Heartache Number of Kimeti: 0 Kimeti Gender: Buck Inspirational Image: X1 X2 Why this moth/butterfly: I won a pet from another shop based off the Goliath Birdwing, and it made me more interested in the species. I've never heard of this butterfly species and when I saw pictures and read up on it I was wow'd! The vivid colors against the black capture the eye, and its the 2nd biggest butterfly species! Additional Info: The name of this butterfly is the Goliath Birdwing :3. I haven't thought of a personality/naming dream yet for him but the gears are in motion! biggrin I'm excited at the chance to get my first pet here ^^. I'll get trying hehe.

Kimeti Name: Lonely Trickster Number of Kimeti: One ( Here) Kimeti Gender: Doe Inspirational Image: One, Two-hoo!, Three!Why this moth/butterfly: This moth is perhaps one of the most striking creatures I have ever seen in the insect world -- not only does it have a wide selection of browns, but the sheer variation of patterns it bears upon its wings gives a lot of room for artistic freedom. That, and the name of the moth merely confirms my suspicions about moths in general -- please check out the additional info. Additional Info: Meet the Indonesian Owl Moth, also known as the Brahmin Moth. Scientists have tagged it with the name Brahmaea hearsyi. It's not enough that moths slip into your house under the excuse that "Oooh, I just wanted to look at the pretty lights! *BONK!* *BONK!* *BONK!*" No, what they're really after are your drapes and curtains. Oh, no! Wait! Is that a cashmere sweater? Your favorite hoodie?! Here, let me nom on it take a look at it! It's very tastey pretty! All a moth wants to do is come inside to eat your fabrics. Moths don't care for sentimental value. All they want to do is come in and make little holes in just the right places, places you don't realize there's a hole until a stranger walks up to you and points it out for you. No, the moths have caught on to the fact that we don't want them inside. They're evolving in such ways to fool the humans into letting them in. This particular moth, for instance, is doing its best to masquerade as an owl of all things in order to get inside. You see, humans tend to like owls. Owls help us figure out how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop. They carry messages. Owls even have awesome theme songs! Personally, I blame the fireflies for tipping the moths off about Owl City and giving them the idea to evolve into owl-patterns in the first place. That, and owls are masters of transformation. This kimeti will embrace the moth subculture -- attracted to things that are bright, she will want to get closer and closer if only to find out where the kimeti makes their bed. And if their bed is made of leaves, then sweet! Dinner is served! At least, it will be until she's chased off. Such is the life of a moth, except it will be rather difficult to squish her or send her on a riverboat ride down the 'loo.

Kimeti Name: Twinkle Little Stars Number of Kimeti: 0 Kimeti Gender:Colorist's Choice Inspirational Image: X, X, XWhy this moth/butterfly: I've always been fascinated by the swallowtail. The shape, the colors. I love the little teardrop like shape at the tips. I've had dreams where ancestors cam back as swallowtails and answered questions for me. Additional Info: This is the black female version of the Easter Tiger Swallowtail butterfly. As you can see they are more black, blue, and purplish than their male counterparts. Though females of this species can also be the usual yellow.

Kimeti Name: Walks the Boundaries (edit: or maybe Pip?) Number of Kimeti: Six [6] Kimeti Gender: Colorist's Choice Inspirational Image: [x] [x]Why this moth/butterfly: I was trying to find something a bit different and this moth was perfect. It doesn't have your "typical" butterfly/moth markings but it's such a lovely colour and is sorta dapply... sorta. And look at the fringes on those wings! Plus it's Australian. ;D Additional Info: blue is extremely awesome and kind. : P Scientific name is crocanthes sidonia... if that matters to you. :> Personality-wise, I think Walks the Boundaries would be an explorer who's curious to know what's beyond the swamp but is too scared to do anything about it. S/he likes to mull things over but rarely gets the motivation to act.

Kimeti Name: Of Black Wings Number of Kimeti: Just one! <3 Kimeti Gender: Doe Inspirational Image: one Why this moth/butterfly: This is my own photo. It was taken at the Butterfly Conservatory in Niagara Falls, Canada, and its one of my favourite photos from my trip. Its a beautiful butterfly, and I'm so proud of the photo. I think a custom of a butterfly I have seen myself, and photographed myself adds a very personal touch. Additional Info: Try as hard as I might, I could not find the name of this butterfly. ;; I really wish I knew, its beautiful.
Personality wise, she'd be a bit of a sour-puss, and very much not a social butterfly, pardon the pun. There'd be a select few that she would trust and whose company she would enjoy. It'd be very hard to get into that group. She'd be very intelligent and logical, and very old fashioned. For her naming dream, I picture a dream of the reincarnation sort, where in her dream she would die, but be reborn flying high above everything she knew, with black wings and feeling free and complete.

Kimeti Name: Wax and Wane Number of Kimeti: Two: Charred Star and Unripened Heart Kimeti Gender: CC Inspirational Image: x x xWhy this moth/butterfly: I'm a sucker for the orange/blue combination, and I'm also really fond of how dusky and elegant they appear from a topmost view. I keep a folder labeled bugs, birds, and snakes, and these pretties feature more than once. Additional Info: Butterfly is called the Spicebush Swallowtail. As for a personality, I was thinking that s/he could focus heavily on astronomical phenomenon, almost to the exclusion of all else, kind of a consistent head in the clouds, wishing to get up there and explore type of deal. S/he wants to bring more attention to the ongoings above, and how they might affect those down below. Of course, since there's not much to be done beyond observation and pulling on current knowledge, a lot of imagination is involved.

Inspirational Image: [X]|[X]|[X] Why this moth/butterfly: Because it is a native butterfly of my home state, Arizona Additional Info: Mourning Cloak butterfly (Nymphalis antiopa) Personality: very timid towards other Kimeti and tends to hide when approached for the first time. Kimeti Name: Gaze of Autumn Number of Kimeti: 0 Kimeti Gender: Buck Inspirational Image: [1] [2]Why this moth/butterfly: I love the colors of the Cecropia Moth,especially the red. It's also the largest moth native to North America, and one of my favorites. I was going to choose the Luna Moth, but that one already was used. XD Additional Info: As I mentioned, this moth is called the Cecropia Moth. As for Gaze of Autumn's personality, he would be fiercely loyal to his friends and would defend them in an instant. He wouldn't like to fight, but if it came down to it and he had no choice, he wouldn't back down.
