"oh!" her eyebrows rose higher again, eyes growing wide in interest "That an impressive way to be recruited, having higher ups taking notice of you" That, was amazing to Faleen, "So I take it you are a thief then?" from the information she got, that was the best conclusion she could come to.
The desert was starting to thin, they were getting closer to their destination.

Aila's brow furrowed reflexively. Just what was this woman trying to discover?
"I was," she corrected. "Under my current circumstances, I find it impractical to exercise my skills. Never mind that I have yet to encounter any article I would deign to go through the trouble to claim as my own."
The girl delighted to see the sands begin to wane. Perhaps she could hope to extract herself from the wretched vehicle sometime in the nearer future.

"I wouldn't say that, its important to have a skill you can use for Rocket's advantage, in due time, when the time is right, Rocket will find a use for all of us."
She frowned only slightly, unsure of what the girl really meant with her words. But they were getting to the outskirts of the town, so Faleen slowed the vehicle, leaning forward to get a better look outside so she could find a place to park it.

"That much is true," she assented. Aila was impressed with the array of departments and positions that existed within Team Rocket. Truly, there was a place for every skill set.
The slowing of the car was most welcome, and the girl arched her back slightly to stretch a stiff area. Fleur, roused by the sudden decrease in volume in the engine's rumble, blinked her eyes open with a yawn.

All the lights within went dead when Faleen turned the engine off, and pulled the key from the ignition. She shifted, opening her door and stepping out, leaving it open just long enough for Umbreon to hop onto the seat and jump out onto the ground, trotting forward a few steps and lifting his head up into the night air. Absol followed, his large claws digging into the earth and he lowered his head below his shoulders, stalking along the vehicle until he saw the town, pressed into the darkness with long dark silhouette of once grand buildings.
the crunching of foot steps followed behind her pokemon, causing Absol to lift his head. Faleen stood for a moment, staring out into the very eery darkness. Continuing around the van, to find Alia.

Fleur hopped down, stretching her legs and back and yawning once more. Aila slipped out of the seat after her and staggered slightly as she readjusted to having control over her own locomotion. She gazed in the direction of the city, long shadows darkening the already inky blackness of the night as it spread like a blanket over buildings and roads. It truly did have a mysterious, almost menacing aspect to it, and Aila somehow found herself attracted to those ominous shadows, much the same as she was attracted to their pokemon counterparts.

The Rocket stood with her dark types, shaded features quiet, posture tall and still, doing nothing but listening to the stillness of the half dead town. Even the wind barely made a noise as it rustled through the trees, plucking up strands of loose hair.
Eerie howls started to rise from the creaking buildings, whistled from the breeze and aged wood. Faleen could be heard taking a deep breath through her noise, a sound of contentment, her form moved as her hands dropped lower, making a sweeping gesture with both of them "go on" her voice then said quietly.
Absol lowered his head again, giving a sudden thick growl, seemingly out of excitement before he swiftly darted forward, taking long bounds before vanishing within the darkness of the town. Umbreon took another side, remaining in a lowered stance, as he dashed off to take a different direction of the town.
"Shall we take a look around?" her voice then asked, shifting to dace Alia's dark form.

Fleur watched in astonishment as the two dark types went charging headlong into the town. What brave pokemon they were! The Bulbasaur, on the other hand, was by and large terrified. It was dark, and there were all kinds of scary noises. What were they doing in a place like that anyway? She recoiled into Aila's shadow, as if that darkness were less frightening than the rest.
Aila replied with a nod of assent, starting forward to demonstrate her readiness to proceed and casting a glance at Faleen as if to urge her to take the lead. She seemed to be at least mildly familiar with the place, after all.

"Shup, Shuppet" the small voice of the Shuppet floated quietly through the air. The pokemon that had seemed to disappear when they had started heading to HQ, was fading back into sight, drifting around Faleen's head, and down to Fleur he said to his new friend, drifting around her curiously.
Faleen got the subtle hint to take lead, Moving forward toward the town, the dirt crunching lightly under her boots. as they passed the first building, Faleen paused and glanced around, walking along the dark wall and peering around the corner. "If you listen, you can sometimes hear pokemon rustling around in the dark" she said in a light whistler to Alia "Most of the time its Psychic types. The more noise they make the easier it is for Absol and Umbreon to hunt them down, eventually they'll clear out of this aria, leaving it really quiet"

The Bulbasaur steeled her expression with a resolute "saur!", the loose translation of which would equate to, "I have no idea what you're talking about!" She took three marching steps out from behind her human before her pace reverted to a crawl.
"This is an opportunity for training, then?" Aila concluded. She found it odd that Faleen would send her pokemon out to train on their own accord, following behind them only leisurely and issuing no orders. She turned her eyes to Fleur. Perhaps, conversely, it was that her own pokemon was too dependent...
Elsewhere in the city, a shadow stirred and flitted. There were intruders about. How impertinent of them to visit at such an hour, completely uninvited.

Faleen hummed softly, with a slight puzzled tone to her voice, she looked over at Aila. "Oh I wouldn't call it active training... not exactly training anyway" giving it another consideration, she supposed it could classify as some form of training. "The pokemon around here are seldom a challenge for either of them, this better serves for an opportunity for them to get out at night and have fun." Her hushed voice drifted off as she moved her glance back to the street, hearing movement from a few parts of the city.
Shuppet smiled lightly at Fleur, swaying back and form again. he cooed at her, hauntingly, spinning suddenly out of view.
Absol walked to the edge of one of the roofs right over the two rocket’s heads. Despite being white, the darkness mostly shaded him from view, standing tall, with claws hanging over the edge as he stared down at them.

"Exercise, then," Aila revised. She could understand where such exercise in the base's gyms would become dull and repetitive. At some point, one had to strive beyond what was immediately available.
Fleur was incensed at the challenge and, seizing a fit of a courage, went running headlong into the city with something of a battle cry, leaving her trainer extending a hand helplessly after her.
"Fleur! Where are you going so suddenly?" She folded her arms with a huff. "Every one of her actions is a whim..."
The flitting shadow, utilizing her innate ghostly talents, faded from view and approached the pair of women quietly. Swiftly and fluidly she reached to seize the blond hair of the taller one and give it a decisive tug.

"yes" The grunt agreed, as the distant scream of a pokemon in pain was heard in a part of the town, before stopping completely. it was a form of exercise after all.
Faleen watched the Grass pokemon bound off into the darkness, knowing that Shuppet was probably with her. "Shuppet used to be that way to." ghost types mostly tended to be that way, though most of the younger pokemon seemed to show the same behavior. The blond gave a half smile, lifting one of her shoulders slightly. "have you been a trainer long?"
She didn't wait long for an answer before something else got her attention. something suddenly tugged at her hair. gasping very suddenly, jerking away sharply, startled by something by her head that she couldn't see. Faleen took a few steps away, hand swatting the hair by where her head was, eyes wide in surprise.
On the roof, Absol had been staring off in the aria he had heard the cry come from, but the sudden movement from his master below had caught his attention. dark eyes narrowing softly as he crouched down. What was master looking at?

Aila opened her mouth to reply but stopped before the words could form upon seeing her companion jerk about. "Is all well?" She searched the area herself and found nothing.
The shadow saw the confused looks on its victims' faces and relished it. It remained hidden from view and giggled in a childish voice, a haunting, chilling sound.
Aila narrowed her eyes at the laughter, "It would seem that we are not alone here." And where was Fleur at such a time? Running about trying to prove who-knows-what to who-knows-whom. Such an irresponsible thing, that Bulbasaur.

"It would seem so" Faleen said, her usually pleasant expression growing a little annoyed, this translated to the tone in her voice as well. "A Ghost" she said, waving her hand again in an attempt to swat at where it might be, since she couldn't see it. "Absol" she said, calling her larger of the two Darks down "get rid of it" she had no intentions in capturing it.
Absol couldn't see the ghost either, but at his Master's request he jumped down from the roof, landing next to Aila and lifting his head high.
"Shup shup!" the little Shuppet cooed every now and then, giving hits as to where he was, he took his friend around some of the buildings, leading her in a circle, making sure not to drift to far from their master's
