Rai is standing off to the side of the proceedings, out of sight and out of mind. He had to go take care of a few things but for the time right now he had done his immediate goal. Midori was safe and he did not need to worry about either her nor the child that she was carrying inside of her. Rai knew that sooner or later that she would find the note inside of her pocket and so would Death.
The note to Midori told her that while he would love to show up and keep an eye on her himself he had pressing issues to attend to that were more than he could hold off on. But that she need not worry that there was at least one person that should keep an eye on her in the town.
The note to death was an invite to the Village hidden in the Hell fire signed by the Hell fire's Kage, Satire Stormkill. Rai also was supposed to meet him at the main gate when he arrivied at the village and so he was to come alone. Raistlyn was also supposed to broker the truce between the two villages and ast as liason on the side of Hell Fire for Death.
Rai turns and decides to walk a little away from the others that he had come with. He needed to figure out what all this village might have in terms of a place for him but also knew a little bit that he would need to talk to death one on one. "Great this will be fun... go into a foreign village, find the Kage, and try to get him alone and talk to him... yea no problem." Rai says softly to himself... soft enough that if no one is listening to him... which he must say would be very odd as no one has even tried to talk to him lately... that they would not be able to hear him.

" What is your summon. Hopefully it not to tasty..... like chicken." Falta elbowed her brother to let him know it was a joke.
She decided to sit on the ground.
She watched as Puff got closer to Maverick before he lept a long arching leap towards the large chicken

Maverick stuck his tongue out and blurbed at Midori. "I'm plenty smart. I'm a summon your a silly human person."
As puff leaped through the air the other eight chicks appeared s all leaping towards Puff to basically body check him away from Maverick.
Maverick didn't react to the appearance of his brothers.

Kuroi Kishi  Kuroi continued his listening stance, frowning a bit when he heard Maverick take pride in his drinking ability. Kuroi wasn't the drinking type, preferring alternatives to alcohol considering how terrible it tasted like to him. At Midori's voice, Kuroi turned his head and smiled lightly and waved back. He really wasn't sure if it was exactly up to his tastes to join a conversation about a topic he didn't really know anything about although he took a few steps forward nevertheless, still being silent.

Midori smiled evily. "If you're so smart why are you talking back to someone who could make turning you into Kentucky fried chicken seem merciful?" She asked Maverick. "Then again you'd probably taste so bad that it would be a crime to sell you as food stuff." She added half jokingly and half insultingly.
Dissapointed that Kuroi hadn't joined the coversation Midori turned towards Rai who had been strangely silent all this time, standing withdrawn from the overall group.
Walking over to him she smiled sweetly trying to be nice to her "guard." knowing she could trust him to look after her but at the same time only trust him so far. After all, he knew her secret and once the baby was born might try and take it from her to give to Chaos. Something she swore she would never allow to happen.
Yes under her care the child was likely going to grow up to be a ninja. Prehaps even an assasin like herself. But At least she could offer it at least a somewhat normal life where Chaos would probably regard it as little more then a tool and an experiment. To be used as a tool and then discarded once it's usefulness played out.
"So does it look safe enough for me here to you?" She asked wondering what he thought of the village so far.

Maverick strolled over to midori. raising essentially his 'eyebrow' at her. "......touche" Maverick was suffice with the woman. He was willing to respect her.

Rai looks over at Midori and just smiles back at her. He is unsure exactly why she is trying to be nice to him but at the same time he knows one thing... He will protect her from anything... Even Chaos himself. Rai has watched his friend go on far too long with everything that he has done and now Rai knows without a shadow of a doubt that Chaos has forgotten what it means to be human. that is a very important thing that should not have been forgotten.
"I think that everything here will be fine for the time being. I must agree that this place is very safe for you and yours." Rai says calmly as he looks over at the other group of people that are talking about drinking and everything. "Do yo think that it would be possible for you and I to make an agreement? But in order for this you and I need to talk in private... Away from everyone and everything? Plus I need to ask you for a favor..." Rai says as he turns around.

"An agreement?" Midori mused. "I don't see why not. AS for privacy I could erect a barrier to keep sound from carrying out if that helps but we'd still need to move further away. After all I'm sure some of the others can read lips and I'm not wearing my Mask." she reasoned as she followed Rai to a more secluded area.
Once she deamed that they where fare enough away Midori flicked of her wrist causing a Siken style shuriken to fall into her hand which she used to quickly trace an intracae hexagonal rune pattern onto the ground.
"We should be safe to talk freely now. It's not as fancy as the one's built into a kage's conference room but it'll hold up long enough for what we need as long as your mindful not to erase any part of the pattern with your feet." She instructed.
"So what type of favor do you have in mind from me?" As an assassin usually when someone asked her a favor it was to kill someone but she was pretty sure Rai could take care of that himself if he wanted and was intrigued to see what else she could help him with.

Rai looks at her and with a small smirk and stands still so as not to even touch the symbols with his feet. Rai stands still and feels the breeze on his face for a moment before getting to the meat of the problem at hand.
"You and Chaos have had a kid together and I have been charged by him to protect the child from all kinds of attacks. This seems more simple than it is at first glance." Rai says as he slowly takes a breath before resuming with his little talk. "The contract though does not say anything about you and while I believe that you are more than capable of surviving anything that comes your way but I also have a care in your survival. I feel that Chaos has for all intents and purposes forgotten all that it means to be human. And as such will do what any predator will do when a new threat is introduced to their ecosystem. I feel that this child will change the ninja world farther than Chaos himself has. And sooner or later I feel that Chaos will deem this child a threat." Rai says as he leans his head back to look at the sky.
Rai thinks back on all of the people he knew that Chaos has ever had any dealings with. As such he knew that Chaos had even turned on his own friend that worked so close with him that for the longest time Rai thought that they were like brothers. But, as Rai had learned in his travels, Chaos had killed that man the moment when he got in his way. The fact that Chaos also jealously guarded any secrets of the demon vines just went on to reinforce the theory that Chaos will eventually try to kill his own offspring. After all the Demon Vines can only have one master... or so Chaos had mentioned to Rai sometime before.
Rai looks down at her and smirks. "I work with whoever hires me or offers me the best deal. I am asking you to make a deal with me. Make me one better than the one that Chaos has made with me." Rai says as he looks her straight in the eyes his pure black ones into her red eyes. Rai has decided that this deal needs to be in effect before he asks for the favor that he wants... he has to get what he needs before what he wants. Such is the way of the world.

Midori listened silent as Rai talked, her facial expression passive despite the fact that his words where serving to fuel her growing desire to see Chaos dead.
In a way she'd already wanted to off Chaos anyhow. His rather extended existence was an abomination against nature and of course it wouldn't hurt to make up for her previous loss against him, one of the few in her career. But him being a threat to her child put him at the top of her kill list as age old protective instincts kicked in.
The chances of her having a child in a first place where so slim that she had thought to be an impossible dream, and now she wasn't going to let anybody, not even someone with godlike power take that away from her.
When Rai asked her to make him a better offer then Chaos add Midori allowed herself a slight smirk. Even while he wanted to support a cause he was pragmatic and she liked that and could respect it.
But at the same time she wondered what she could possibly offer him that could out do Chaos's offer. Sure she had money, more then enough that she didn't have to work as a ninja if she didn't want to. But that was what she had been raised to be, she knew no other way, In a sick sort of way it was fun for her.
But Chaos had lived for centuries and given that amount of time any half competent person could amass more funds and resources then she could possibly hope to match. Her research results then? She had given Chaos her files on Poisons in order to secure his aid since frankly he was beyond the reach of such things anyhow, but she still had plenty of files on other topics she hadn't shared with him.
Or perhaps something else. The Skyriders where famous not for their battle prowless but their support work. Delivering packages, Crafting weapons and Armour of legendary quality and their seal work.
Finally with a sigh she shrugged simply not sure what to offer him. "Usually this is the part where we negotiate and haggle. But frankly I'm not sure what I can offer to one up the old vine man so I'll be straight with you. Name your price and if it is with in my means to grant you it I shall." She offered.

"How about we do this the smart way?" Rai says with a small smirk. "I have not lived as long as I have with out making deals that have benefited myself. I will need your help in the future and for now I have a feeling that you think I want money... As it stands my own funding is well... extensive. I have been playing things in the back ground for long enough that I have gained enough to be able to do what I need." Rai says calmly. "I can not help but protect your daughter from everything that comes after her... including Chaos if it comes to that... Because as he said 'Protect the child from everything or else it wont be pretty for you.'"
Rai stops to think about the situation that they were now in. Rai was looking for allies and knew that Chaos had made her sign a blood pact... that is the main problem. Rai make a sigh and then continues with his talk. "How about we deal with the problem at hand and then we can talk about payment later? But at the same time I think that there should be a deal between you and me, I will help you in anyway that you need me to, as long as it dont get me killed, and later you and I will haggle the price out. How does that sound? If that will work we need to figure out what I can do to stay in this village. I need to stay here so as to stay close enough to help you with what you need but it also has to be in a secret enough way so that no one else can figure it out. My own village has sent me to help this village in any way that this village needs or wants so that could help."

Midori nodded as Rai explained how it wasn't about money. Him taking about dealing with the problem first then working out the 'payment' later however had her raising an eyebrow. "Deferred payment if fine, but if I didn't know better I'd think you where proposing to me." She teased with a warm smile.
"As for your cover for staying here that's simple enough. With the large number of refuges coming in from both Towns and Steel we're going to doubtlessly require quite a bit of construction. As a representative of your village you could be here under the pretense of advising us on our architecture technique." She suggested.
"As for dealing with Chaos we're going to need a plan and a damn good one at that. I suspect their is more to him then we know. I was able to dredge up some old stories about him. He's supposedly died before only to return and I have a theory as to why. He's a plant right? Well what if the form he shows us when we see him is only a clump of his demon vines and not the root? If I'm right we could destroy his body only for him to simply grow a new one and then strike back." Midori explained

Rai looks at her with a blank look when she says about the proposing thing. "I am sure that I dont know what you are talking about. I just feel that dealing with the problem at hand will be better than haggling over the price that it will cost." Rai says calmly. "As for the whole architecture thing I have a better idea. I am supposed to offer myself to this village as an ambassador from Hell Fire. This is for a few reasons not the least of which is that so I may be here if this village needs me in the defense of its denizens. The other reasons is that my village is small at the moment and needs help in the upbringing of the ninja there. I am supposed to also offer a sorta of teacher exchange program where some people from my village and some people from this village works together to build a closer tie so that these two great villages will work together for a long long time."
Rai takes a breath and looks around. Finally he starts his talking about Chaos. "I have long known about Chaos and have tried without success to find everything I can on him. The only problems I am having is that since him and I are so old there are not many people alive who have the information that we seek. As such it goes without saying that he will be a very hard opponent to do in..." Rai pauses as if a thought just occurred to him. "What if we were to gather a group of people against him? That is unless you were to betray me and sell me out to him... Sorry but as my information says you and him did make a pact. How can I be certain that you will not turn on me?" Rai says with an edge in his voice... one that will let her know that he will not be taken as a fool but at the same time wants to help her out.

Midori shurgged at his suggestion about an exchange program. "Sure that should work just as well thought I'm not sure who they'd send over to your village."
She sighed long and deep as Rai mentioned the blood pack. "So you know about that huh. He can ask me just about any one favor and I'd have to do it. Knowing my nature he'd be smart to ask me never to try to kill him but if he asked me to kill you their isn't much I could do by try.... That is unless..." She said suddenly getting an idea.
"How good are you at Genjutsu?" She asked him. Her own illusions where serviceable but hardly top teir and she'd need something like that for her idea to work.
"As for a team we'd have to be very careful with who we'd pick. Anybody below a certain level would just be more of a liability then an asset. Death would be a good ally to have on the cause by beyond him I'm not sure who else to recruit."

Rai thinks about this for a bit... "Myself I am not that good with genjutsu... though I do have some secrets about myself that I am not sure that Chaos knows." Rai says calmly. "I do want to have Death on my team as well... and well I have some ideas of others... I am right now getting trained by someone that Chaos himself knew back in the day... He actually seemed to be able to hurt him back then... But I have yet to proved my worth to him..."
