River was taken aback hearing the creature speak but cleared her throat to prevent her voice from wavering. "Well... we don't have room for you back home, so Mai will have to say good bye to you.. fluffy..." She said hesitantly. This creature could talk, maybe it could be reasoned with. "But we can come back once we are done with our chores..." She added hoping she would not regret that statement. Gig would be furious to learn she had lost sight of Maiyuri earlier. She was unsure how he would react to the possible pet on top of it.

The behemoth would lower its head down to the ground, its eye seemed to sink, it had a very sad like expression on its face. "....I see......do i sound like a fool?" The behemoth would then stand on its hind legs, its body was covered in scars. It would turn its back to river and mai, it tails would move over mai and rub the top of her head gently. "...You know....what it feels like for everyone to turn on you because of what you are?....Your own blood turning on you cause your different casting you aside like trash....... people attacking you just because they consider you a monster....no need to do anything but breath and they stab, slash, and mame you just because of what you are?...I may be a beast but my heart still pumps blood like anyone elses....thank you mai but....it would seem as if this is bye." The behemoth would begin to walk down the ally away from them. Mai's eye would get massive and she would fall on to her but and begin to very heavily bawl, streams of tears running down her face.

River was smuthered with shame. She choked back the tears threatening to fall and she said, "Wait! I'm sorry... I..." Her voice cracked and she lowered her head. "I was not meaning to upset you. Please... don't go. I was wrong." She added glancing up feeling horrible. Mai's tears were not helping ether, only adding to the guilt. "If it helps, I was not lying about wanting to come back..." She added wanting to fix this, make things right. If she didn't fix this, Mai would never let her live it down.

The behemoth would stop, but not turn. "....so....you want me to believe that your sorry....for something you have said when so many have screamed at me, attacked me just for what i am?" The behemoth would turn, and while not angry at river or mai, it would slightly hit the wall with its left fist. "They slash stab and try to burn me....but i wont degrade my self to them, i wont hate simply for appearances....you say your sorry...You look as if you genuinely are...but what do i know a monster...hiding among humans, which sadly are the lesser threat compared to a clan of behemoth's! I hide in this alley, trying to stay away from people, ....people that want to harm me. The girl mai...is the first human...possibly first anything to show me compassion....now you do to? Please i hope this is not a trick because id much rather be impaled by a spear, then another wound on the heart." The look on the behemoths face was that on confusion, but almost excitement. Were they really showing compassion, or where they just try to hurt him more, it was so confused. Then guess who enters to make things worse.
Embers of fire would begin to float threw the air in the ally, as giglamesh stood right hand out with river and mai to his back, the embers of fire seemed to be drawn in to his right hand. The look of giglamesh's face was extreme, no compassion, it was a look of pure hatred. Giglamesh just arrived so he didnt know the situation he only saw a behemoth in a alley, river with a hurt look on her face, and maiyuri bawling. Naturally he would assume it was a feral behemoth that had made its way in to the slums. But that look of hate was not because it was a monster, that look was of a father protecting its kin. He would protect river with his life, but of course his own daughter would come first, she was still a child that could not defend herself. Even in the face of a behemoth king giglamesh would not budge to protect his child. Thus that look of hate, a look that wished death on anything that meant to cause harm to not only his kin, but his family.

River was surprised to see a blur of movement, it took a moment to realize Gig was there starting to cast firaga. She rushed forward planting herself between Gig and the behemoth. "Wait, he was doing no harm Gig. Fluffy... I would never do something that cruel to try and trick you, truly I do wish to get to know you." She said. Not wanting to say aloud she could understand being shunned by peers. The girls whom she tries to befriend doesn't like tomboys. She dresses the part, but they only talk about boys, and makeup. It's lame, and she always felt alone with that crowd.

The embers floating threw the air were the sign he was nearly ready to cast FIRAJA even as river stood in the way he continued. "Move you cant handle a behe..." giglamesh would completely turn his head to see his munchkin grasping his left shin.
Maiyuri has also advanced and grabbed hold of daddies leg tight, slightly pulling down on his leg and coat as she held him. "Nuuu! Fuzzy is friend! Dun kill em!!!" She wanted daddy to stop his attack, she didnt want him to hurt her fuzzy.
Giglamesh would keep looking down at maiyuri, but he would look up to see the behemoth didnt move in the slightest actually as gig readied to attack it seemed to of lowered its head. The embers would stop flowing threw the air to giglamesh's hand and he would lower his left hand down to his left side. then in a scolding demeanor he was talking to mai, and river both. "...You two better both have a very good reason for this..." He was keeping his eye on the behemoth, ready to move if he needed to, but this behemoth seemed different as well as...smaller.

River bit her lip unsure where to start. She was damn sure she would leave out a few things. "Well, um, this all started with Mai giving Fluffy here some ice cream and they became friends. I was unsure at first, but my gut says he has a good soul." She said not realizing she was fidgeting slightly. Inwardly she was wishing he had better timing, and that he would not realize River would never allow Mai to feed a behemoth if she were with the toddler. Man where is a restart button when you need one. River thought and realized she was acting nervous. Calming herself she glanced over to Mai knowing the child would say something as well.

Mai would waddle over and flail on rivets legs crying. "Hes not fluffy hes F-U-Z-Z-Y FUZZY!!!"Giglamesh would walk over placing his left hand on river, he had was hot not enough to injure but more then enough to make uncomfortable which he wanted. "How prey tell....did she come across a behemoth....in a back alley....to feed it, river hmmm?" He was keeping a tight grasp with his hot hand, to make her all the more uncomfortable.
The behemoth would literally lay on it stomach as a sign it meant no threat. "I take it this is "daddy"? ...I understand not the situation but....please do not take it out on them the situation has arised because of me so take it out on me." The behemoth continued laying on its stomach, it had no intention of moving regardless of what giglamesh would do. "How ever ...rivet...what is the meaning of this soul you speak of?"
Hey behemoth! stay out of this!......river....was is the behemoth talking?... He seemed oddly calm about all this, despite the hot hand burning rivers right shoulder as he held her, his hand hot from the casting of the Firaja spell. It was as if giglamesh did not even flinch from the large talking behemoth, it was odd, but he had seen his fare share of oddities. "...And you little missy.....how did you get sticky?" It was directed at mai, because he could see how different things were sticking to her kimono cause she made a mess on her self. Giglamesh wasnt a nazi, but he had shown maiyuri to be cleaner than that.
Maiyuri's eye got large cause she new she was in trouble,so she would begin to cray and run over to the behemoth hugging its face. "Dont hurt fuzzy, fuzzy is mai's frand." She hugged its face despite it trying to move away, so the father would not think he meant the child harm. Because the just look from the young one touching him, shown he was willing and wanted to destroy the behemoth at the current time, just for his daughter touching it.

River scoffed looking down at Mai. Fluffy, fuzzy, same diff. She was going to say, but Giglamesh walked over. She looked up and grew pale knowing she was in trouble. "Um, long story?" She asked trying drop the conversation. He would just get even more mad, and right now; that was so not needed.
Glancing past Giglamesh River said to the behemoth, "Ah my name is River, and soul... well it is your inner self, your speech and emotions indicate you have one. I guess... How does one define a soul?" She asked looking up at Gig. "And yes, he talks." She added knowing better than to try and wiggle free. It was her own fault letting Mai out of her sight.

The behemoth would stop moving but turn is eyes to river. "River and soul it is.......however...i dont know how logic dictates one has this item called a soul." Fuzzy would turn its eye to look at giglamesh, it was hoping maybe that he would be able to better educate him on what a soul was.
Giglamesh would release his tight grasp on river's shoulder, she hadn't heard the end of this and she knows it. and he would look to her and alternating between her and the behemoth. "Not the easiest question but....i guess a soul can be described as a incorporeal essence of a living creature of which can sometimes contain a consciousness that enables the some times irrational effects of emotions. I feel, therefore I hurt one could say.....But Not to say a Behemoth does not have a soul...however....how are you able to speak? I never seen a anomaly like the behemoth class creature like this." Giglamesh seemed as if his guard was lowered as he spoke of souls and to the creature. However this was not the case he was actually testing it to see if it would change its methodology, by making it look like his guard was lowered but this was by far not the case his guard was never lowered when he was with his daughter.

River glanced at the behemoth and shrugged. "All I know is I trust my gut. You look too much into the meaning of a soul, and it becomes meaningless. Just trust that you are different from the mindless behomoths we have met in the past." She glanced back at Giglamesh and added, "And I hope that you trust that the situation was handled... and that the lesson was learned." She was already beating herself up enough for her mistake, his looks he gave her tore at her.

Giglamesh just kind of shook his head at river, while she was right this was the first behemoth that spoke, she profiled the rest of the race, of which it is, as mindless. Giglamesh knew better then were beasts but far from mindless, a mindless creature would not set up traps and work in unison as they did. Giglamesh would look to river about her supposed handling of the situation and would grab the recorder, he would kind of just pick up mai by her kimono much like a parent would its kitten. "What happened?"
Mi just kind of froze as she was picked up, pretty much going limp "Well rivet wanted to shops so we goed to shop, but man said he had ice cweams me and rivet went to get ice cweams, and he told me bout the pretty kitty pop but want mai's onge dweam, but he said pretty kitty. Rivet told the mans daddies name and he walked awaz....mai stuffed face wit ice cweam and rivet did tekie stuffz wit da cart...maiz walked to da allies and saw fuzzy, and mai talked to fuzzy then rivet came wordied and daddy came mad." Ah to be a kid and completely rat on everything and everybody in a heart beat, with out second thought cause you dont know its not the nicest thing to do.
Giglamesh put her down, and gave river a cold glare, not a angry one. Cold because not only did she use his name, which she know he does not like his reputation, but her weakness with technology allowed her to let maiyuri wander. ESPECIALLY AFTER USING HIS NAME! He was not happy, but he wold deal with that latter he had a ...bigger matter to tend to. "As you were saying ....behemoth...." He kind of gave a signal telling it to continue with the question he last asked it.

River saw the shake of the head before he picked Mai up. She did not understand why he did that nor did she see anything wrong with what she had said. She has not yet learned to respect wild creatures; actually things that do not effect her small world, she was oblivious about.
Hearing the play by play from Mai River winced and lowered her head missing the glare, she felt it though, seeing that she was expecting it.
Hearing the repeated question she looked up at the behemoth and listened intently wanting to know his answer.

The behemoth was sitting on its rear, but with its front legs still on the ground, almost like a dog. "The truth is.....i dont really know or understand why i can speak. Its not as simple as just the language humans speak, i can speak many other languages as well as understand the, Of coarse there is always a language barrier where i will lack the information to understand certain words. Yet i have a common grasp of many many languages.....yet i do not know why, it was as if one day i simply awoke with the knowledge and ability to comprehend and speak a multitude of languages." the behemoth almost looked like it felt bad for not being able to answer the question giglamesh had asked it.
Giglamesh was just standing there he he would cross his arms, yet out his right hand up to hold his chin as if he was thinking about something. He had a few ideas of what it could be, but he would say anything on them for the time being because he didnt want to be wrong and have anybody, including the behemoth to worry about those scenarios if they were wrong.
Maiyuri would kind of hug the right front leg of the behemoth. "Fuzzys funny!" Giglamesh watched, yet did not do anything, did he take a liking to the behemoth as well?

Wow.. River thought impressed with that ability. She looked up at Giglamesh. He looked like he knew something. She made a note to ask him later before clearing her throat. "Soooo... we all cool now?" She asked starting to fidget again. No she was not delusional thinking she would be out of trouble, but she did hope at least this situation was resolved.
