User Image violet hurriedly put mine!!! and chikory back into their pokeballs, then raced to her room to plug her pda into her computer so she could print the picture out. she plopped down onto her amethyst bedspread and plugged her pda into her laptop. nothing happened. she flicked the screen in frustration. "oh man oh man, gotta find someone who can help me figger this out!" she poked her head into the hallway and looked around, but no one was around. "harumph!" she pouted and crossed her arms as she leaned against her doorframe. she then spotted the printout tacked to the hallway bulletin board.

she squealed as she tore the sheet from the board, pin flying. "yeeee, lucky day for me! now gotta get to seth!" she made her way through the building trying to find his office; she had found said room during an earlier game of hide-and-seek with flume and scramps (well, "hide-from-crazy-trainer-while-she-tries-to-get-you-to-play"), and was trying to jog her memory.

as she wandered through the hallways, she came across a rather pissed-off-looking kunai, and squeezed herself against the wall, looking down at the floor as her pink-haired superior passed. (as addlebrained as she was, she knew better than to draw attention from someone that angry.)

User Image Despite how cautious the Grunt Violet seemed to be, unfortunately, she was not ignored. In fact, the pink-haired Elite stopped immediately next to her, turned a sharp 90 degrees to face her, and with her piercing green eyes, began to analyze the girl. Her tone was sharp as she immediately commanded "At attention!"

Kunai was a superior ranking Agent, and as such, deserved the respect. It probably also helped that she had her choice weapon at hand, poised for attack. In an absolutely deadpan tone, the pink haired Elite gave her instructions.

"I am in a rather foul mood at the moment, so I recommend you do not try my patience, Grunt. Give me the paper you have at hand." Her gloved hand reached out expectantly, her eyes glaring intensely at the paper which Violet held.

She maybe had five seconds before Kunai would show her how impatient she could be.

User Image hoshiz! as kunai yelled into her face, violet reactively froze, wide-eyed. she couldn't remember the last time someone had yelled at her, especially at this close range. usually they just hid and avoided her, or told her to go somewhere else. "yuh...yes, kun-i mean, ma'am...i mean, yes, miss agent ma'am....i mean, uh...." her eyes darted back and forth between kunai's bold green eyes and the sharp pointy weapon in her hand. at the sight of this, violet stretched up as tall as her 5'3" frame would allow, keeping her back as straight as a board. though she was slightly taller than the elite agent, kunai scared the wits out of her. thank goodness she had the wall against her back to hold her up, otherwise her now shaky knees may buckle underneath her.

when kunai demanded her precious picture, violet's eyes started to tear. she looked to the picture of seth in her purple-gloved hands. "th-this paper? but...but...it's my special picture, 'n i wanted to get seth to sign it for me..." her voice wavered and faded out as she glanced at kunai's weapon. she gulped, then handed it over with on hand as she wiped away a tear with the other.

User Image The paper was taken up in hand, and despite how teary eyed the girl got, it did not change the next course of action in the slightest. The paper got crumpled up immediately within her weapon-free hand and soon enough was balled up in the middle of her fist.

"Only an absolute idiot would go to Agent Seth with something so tacky and request he sign it. I suspect it would not be past Agent Seth to assign anyone time in the brig for keeping any sort of images such as this of himself."

Her knife flicked about her finger for a moment, as if offering a slight pause so she could close her mouth for a moment.

"Now, Grunt, did you print this picture out yourself before the Network was taken offline, or did you get it from somewhere?"

User Imageviolet let out a small whimper as her paper got crumpled up in kunai's hand like dirty old newsprint or used-up wrapping paper. she kept her gaze on kunai's fist as she answered. "tacky? but...but dinnit you take the picture and send it to me? i think i saw your name on the email i got...well, uh, ya see, i got this email from i think it was you, and then i went back to my room to print it out but it wasn't working. so i wanted to find someone to help and then i saw this one printed out on the wall so i brought it with me." her eyes glistened with tears - a mixture of sadness for her lost picture and fear for what the elite agent would do to her with the sharp pointy object.

she glanced once more at the knife and muttered underneath her soft sobs, "and i'm not an idiot..."

"Hey, Sorano, who do you think pulled the network?"

Conversation had been absent since their search for the reason to why the computers of TRHQ quickly shut down, leaving Lennyka without her important word document and poor Sorano without his Va'por'eo'n' game. It was obviously linked to the rather kawaii-desu manipulation of Seth dressed as a sugar-sweet scout, yet who was responsible for it all?

Sorano shrugged his shoulders. "I 'unno!" he replied firmly as he paused from walking ans swiveled around to Lennyka, making a soft sloshing sound with the sliding of his slippers. "If I be knowin', I won' be lookin', 'kay?"

Lennyka hid timidly behind Sorano's labtop and blinked at him innocently as he leered.

"I'm sorry, big brother . . . I won't ask again. But! Um, do you think it was someone from the filing department?"

More useless questions that did not deserve useless answers. Knotting his eyebrows together in a tight Christmas bow, Sorano returned to walking and abandoned his sister. Miss Dinkley just sighed. Her big brother was such a jerk!

User Image Poor, poor Violet. Absolutely naive little creature she was (despite being taller than her superior at the moment). It almost came across that she didn't think before she spoke and she didn't value her good looks.

The moment she dared to mention the fact the email came from Kunai's email address, the Elite instantly lashed out with her weapon-bearing hand. The motion was quick, and Violet's eyes might not have seen exactly what happened. Yet, the sudden sting across her cheek was a pretty decent hint as to what happened. A small line of red soon enough seemed to bubble up from her cheek, marking exactly where Elite Agent Kunai had cut her face. To add to the insult, Kunai then stabbed her knife into the wall. The knife was literally jutting out through her hair, pinning the girl into place by the hair (though several strands were unable to handle the sharpness of her weapon and simply fell down, cut at the point where the knife had made contact).

"Grunt, you have only further proven your stupidity." For using such harsh words that were seething with hate, the pink-haired girl's tone was actually flat. "Obviously you know nothing of my conduct, which shows that you are absolutely ignorant. And an ignorant Grunt will always remain a Grunt in rank. There is no excuse for ignorance in this organization, Grunt."

She might have been shorter, but Kunai knew how to intimidate even the tallest of Agents. She leaned in, eyes glaring intensely into Violet's. There was no personal space bubble. Proximity was nearly everything. "Grunt, look me in the eyes!" There was a pause, only long enough to wait for her eyes to pull up to her own green ones.

"That 'picture' as you phrased it was nothing more than a shoddy photo manipulation. It was low quality at best. I would never send off something so pointless and stupid to the whole network. Now..." She pulled her knife away from the wall where she had stabbed it in, leaving a pretty decent hole where it had dug in.

"You will take me to where you found this picture." The Elite took one large step back. "Get a move on, Grunt!"

User Image "augh!" violet cried out and squeezed her eyes shut as she saw the blade coming at her. she hissed in pain as the blade sliced through her skin, her hand raising instinctively to feel how bad the injury was. though it felt that the damage was minimal, it left a thin line of scarlet blood across the fingers of her purple glove. she tried to pull her head away, but that only resulted in strands of her lovely violet hair slicing off from where the knife was sticking into it. damn, that girl had strength; she was rooted in place, unable to move without risking injuring herself more.

she did not like this situation at all. she grew increasingly uncomfortable as kunai's piercing green eyes stared directly into her own hazel ones, their faces mere inches apart. she grasped her face as she tried to block out the agent's harsh words. she didn't think she was stupid. none of her friends back home, her family, teachers, or anyone had told her she was. but she didn't see that the photo was a fake. so maybe if her superior (in charge of training, no less) was telling her she was...

she was pulled by her hair towards kunai slightly as the knife was removed from the wall. she glanced at her feet to see a small pile of chopped off hair, and though she was tempted to cry over the fact, she stopped herself when she saw the size of the hole in the wall.

gulping, she inched slightly away as kunai stepped back. she was glad of the increased distance. "it...it was on the wall just outside my bedroom. it's down this way," she pointed behind her, not wanting to turn her back on the pink-haired agent. "not too far." she backed down the hallway, fiddling with her mangled hair.

User Image There was no warning as Kunai threw her knife towards the girl. One might have assumed that Kunai had missed, seeing as her knife was now sticking out a mere inch away from Violet's hair. However, her aim had been absolutely true.

In an almost growling tone, Kunai pointed out Violet's error. "If I wanted you to tell me where to go, I would have asked you to tell me. Let me repeat my directions, Grunt. 'You will take me to where you found this picture.' Those were my exact directions. Follow them to the letter or I will toss you in the brig myself."

Pause.

"Move it, NOW!!"

As Nadja and her pale shadow exited the offices section of the labs, a white-coated figure turned a corner, spotted them, and made a sharp adjustment to its path.

"Allen. How are the clones?" the redhead called as they headed for each other.

"Back-up life support kicked in," Allen replied, adjusting his glasses. "Was this Seth-"

"Don't think about it." It was an order. After a beat, Nadja continued: "That's a few experiments fouled up, and more if it stays down. You can let others know I'll take this into account when I'm reviewing reports."

"Indeed." And the scientist was off again with a swirl of his lab coat.

Nadja's mind was.. elsewhere, despite her efforts to focus on the important things. Not that image. It was being distressingly persistent. Allen's news took the urgency of the network failure down considerably, though; nothing to do but wait - and if it went on too long, make some pointed inquiries to the technology department.

The elite shook her head, trying to clear it. Nyx wasn't a troublemaker except by accident. What had possessed her to- "Nicole-" She stopped and rounded on her subordinate. "..why did you think I needed to see that image?"

Again Nyx had to stop rather abruptly while following behind Nadja. Luckily her mind was able to switch quickly from taking a mental count of how many experiments she was involved in that would have to be restarted to commanding her feet to stop.

The mess of white fluff shifted to an angle as the head it was anchored on cocked slightly. The mind underneath was still going through a mental checklist of numbers and charts and chemical compounds. Nyx stood there for a brief moment, staring half at Nadja's face, half at nothingness itself, with her mouth slightly twitching and the faintest of sounds escaping as she finished her train of thought. Her finger made some sort of motion back and forth and then Nyx's attention snapped back to reality and something akin to turning a light on happened in her face.

"Ah yes! Ooh..." Nyx groaned slightly as a remnant of her previous thoughts caught up and then fled again, then continued on. "Mm, I noticed the fight you had with Elite Seth. The thought occurred to me that you could do with a laugh at his expense. Ma'am." She stated rather blatantly.

Nadja raised her brows. The corners of her mouth turned down.

Then up.

"Pfft-" The redhead's eyes crinkled with mirth; she raised a hand to cover the laugh that sputtered out. No good; a grin flashed brightly between her fingers, and she was laughing in earnest for a moment, her other hand cupped under her elbow to support her shaking frame. The whole situation was ridiculous, really, and a laugh was the healthiest action right now.

"I didn't." Nadja shook her head, touching her temple lightly. "I really, really didn't." She gave Nyx a rueful smile, the sort of 'what do I do with you' look parents give their children. "I appreciate your loyalty, Nicole," she said, her tone buoyed up by lingering amusement, "but it doesn't do to be disloyal to other authority figures, especially as an agent, do you understand? It undermines the rank as a whole-" She paused, and her mouth twitched to the side as some of her usual canny look returned. "-and there are other ways to deal with Seth."

"Yes ma'am, I understand" Nyx nodded, and even though her actions could be viewed as undermining Seth's rank, it was nice to see the Elite laugh for once.

Rather suddenly Nyx glanced to the side and contorted her face in some sort of mental agony, "Not that too... That took a whole week of work!" Apparently that checklist wasn't finished running itself. There was a reason she was an agent scientist, and it wasn't just her combat paralysis and good looks.

She looked back to Nadja, a subdued rage in her dark little eyes. "That thing was forwarded to just about everyone in Headquarters, ma'am, by the look of the 'send to' bar. Who do you think is responsible?" It didn't need to be said that Nyx would love to get her hands on the joker; They'd inadvertently caused her to lose a lot of work. Maybe they could test that experimental brain thing on them?

"Geez," Hayes laughed, and started to turn away. You saw worse things every day on the internet, and his initial wordlessness aside, the blond didn't draw more from it than 'Better steer clear of Seth for a while.' Not out of fear, but because he didn't feel like being told to rewrite his current project from scratch or have the deadline pushed forward because his superior 'felt like it.' Seth was an a**, but he was an a** with rank.

And there was 1337, right in front of the bulletin board. Not that it directly implied anything.

"Hey-" Hayes started, when a girl shouted his name and a big blue Jolteon bounded over to him, making Switch lean forward on his shoulder to get a better look at the thing. "Yeah-" The blond looked up, and gave Jen a friendly smile of greeting. "What's up?"

Something rustled above Seth's head. A little scrap of paper, slightly damp, fluttered down from the ventilation grate and stuck itself on his screen.

It was pink, with a hint of ruffles.

Seth had gone back to work to deal with the security breach so that the network could get back online. His hands flying over the keys with great speed. However... he paused as the pink piece of paper landed on one of his screens... and he reached out to take it off and stared at it for a moment.

Teeth gritted and his hand clenched in a fist over the paper. A drawer was opened in the side of the desk and a flat head screwdriver was brandished, a hateful glimmer in his eyes as he glanced up towards the grate. He was going to get that vermin if it killed him. Some curses were muttered under his breath as he climbed the desk and stood on its top. Using the screwdriver to remove the grate, it was tossed to the floor.

"Where are you, you little pain in the a**?!" Seth shouted as he put his head in the vent to seek out the black fluffball.
