Kayou blinked slowly, looking at the..well, whatever it was....and realized it was asleep. She pondered for a moment, then yawned widely, her jaws closing with a quick snap before she lay down getting comfy and passing out almost instantly.

((Speaking of which, needs be I must go to bed as well, got work in....uhm....well, too soon for my tastes.))

((Alright, g'night! :3 See you later today, perhaps?))

It was morning. He thought, anyway. Stretching his wings lazily, Iro looked about to see that nothing much had changed since he'd fallen asleep, except that the voices of the symbol-speakers had stopped and instead was replaced with a menu screen. He considered telling it to play, but...truth be told, he was afraid of messing it up. He'd watched his human work such devices before, but regardless he would rather enjoy the early morning silence. Besides, he didn't want to disturb the sleeping fox, coiled up in her nest of rags. He eyed her fondly - so cute.

For now, he felt no impulse to move, and instead simply sat, coiled, observing the vixen silently. It was a wonderful morning.

Kayou woke up slowly, peeking her head out of her nest and looking around sleepily. She blinked when she saw the thing was still there, and that he was awake as well.

She stood up slowly, favoring her bound leg still, and nosed the button on the TV, turning it off. She padded off, into the one other ground level room. After rustling around for a few moments, she came back, dragging two shiny silver pouches.

She dropped one beside her nest, tossing the other with a toss of her head at her companion. After laying down and getting comfy on the floor, she tore at the pouch, succeeding in tearing it open after a moment, and spilling out a decent amount of dried jerky. She looked up, saying only three words.

"Douzo meshiagare. Itadakimasu!"

She sniffed it for a moment, then began gnawing on a piece, murring happily at having breakfast so easily taken care of.

Iro wasn't all that quick and was promptly smacked in the head by the pouch. Ow. He shook his head to soften the pain a little. He watched the fox tear in, curious, and then opened his own. How incredibly convenient. He began to gnaw on a piece silently, slightly disgusted with the taste. But he could put up with the taste if it didn't mean ending another life just for his own needs. It was always so depressing to hunt, but he just couldn't live on greens like the Dustling dragons could.

His eyes slowly glanced over to Kayou, clearly curious about what they would do today. Perhaps he could find someway to patch the ceiling? With that hole there, whenever it rained, everything would get soggy and...well, water plus electricity wasn't good.

Kayou continued to tear through her...food...if you could call it that, working quickly till it was all done. Silver ones were the best, teriyaki.

Once she was done, she picked up the remains of the bag, and padded back into the other room, dropping them down a hole. She didn't know what happened to them, but sometimes she'd here a loud whooshing noise and feel heat come out of it, and it never got full.

She padded back into the main room, sitting down on her haunches, her bound leg sticking out at a funny angle, and looked at her visitor, tilting her head to the side as if to say "Okay, now what?"
PostPosted: Thu Aug 05, 2010 6:24 pm

He eyed his bag, noticing that she had gone in the room with one and had come back without one. Quickly he slithered where she had gone, and, noting the hole, placed the bag inside. Iro considered sticking his head in to see if he could tell what was down there, but...it was hard to say, in such a strange human building. He hurried back out to his companion.

"Now what?" was a pretty good question, actually. He peered up at the hole in the roof. Was there anything he could use to patch, or at least cover, the hole? It was decently sized, about the size of a human's head, and jagged around the edges from where the iceball had smashed through.

The serpent gestured up at the hole with a wing, looking to Kayou to see if she had any ideas.

Kayou looked up at the hole, then back at her visitor. She stepped outside, padding over to a tree that had rather large, broad leaves.

She let out a short yip, hoping to get his attention. She couldn't climb the tree, not with her leg...and it was rather skinny, and had no limbs low down to jump on. Maybe he could get some though?
PostPosted: Thu Aug 05, 2010 7:16 pm

Following his host, he looked up the tree. Ah, perhaps those leaves would do. Taking off, he plucked a few sturdy looking ones, and crept back over to the roof. He touched down carefully, making sure the rickety roof could support his weight, and then placed the mat of leaves over the opening. Even a slight breeze would blow them off, though...But at least this would get her through any little showers that came by. Peering over the edge of the roof, he gestured for Kayou to join him with a wing. He'd forgotten that she couldn't fly yet.

Kayou watched him, then tried to follow him, hopping and flapping her wings. She got a little bit off the ground....and then proceeded to smack into the wall, letting out a consternated yelp.

She sat there, glaring at the wall, not hurt...just embarrassed a lot. It's not often you manage to smack yourself into a wall like that...especially with others around.

Iro watched her hop along, and let out a hiss of his own when she hit the wall. Oh, yeah. She couldn't fly. Quickly he dove back to the ground, nosing at her fur in concern. "Itai?" Though she hadn't hit the wall very hard, for a child her age, concussion was a terrifying possibility, and there were nails and bacteria and...lots of scary things.

Kayou shook her head side to side, muttering softly.

"Ie, yuiitsu kenshiki."

She was blushing so much under her fur it was a miracle the color wasn't showing through. She still couldn't believe that she ended up basically launching herself at the wall like that.

She looked up at the roof, pondering for a moment, then gave up with a sigh. If her leg was okay, she could possibly make it, but not until her leg is better.
PostPosted: Thu Aug 05, 2010 8:08 pm

Though he couldn't tell what she was saying, the shaking of her head told Iro she was okay. His ears picked up the sigh, and took it as a sigh of resignation. His eyes narrowed slightly in sadness and worry. Perhaps he could help, somehow? He gave a soft trumpeting call to get her attention while he began to plan his next move.

Kayou looked at the thing, ears laying back a little at the loud sound. Why must everything be so loud?

She looked up at the roof, pondering, then suddenly jumped at the corner of the building. She dug her claws in, pulling herself up in a quick jump, flapping her wings as hard to make up for her injured leg.

After five such hops, she reached the roof, and scrabbled onto it, grinning down at the loud thing, and letting out a chirp of success.
PostPosted: Sat Aug 07, 2010 6:41 pm

Oh, or that works. Iro grinned up at her, clearly impressed. That still didn't solve the problem of flying, though. He held his wings out ramrod straight, unmoving, and made a soft noise. If she jumped off the building with her wings held out like this, she'd glide, right? Or at least, that was how it worked for comet serpents.

Kayou looked down at him, wondering what he was trying to show her, then gave a half-hearted shrug. She sat down on her haunches, and began gnawing at the stuff tied around her leg, wanting it gone, and in the worst way.

Once it was all off, she began moving her leg, testing it. It could support her weight, but nothing major like running or full powered jumps. That was fine.

She looked around, then suddenly walked back towards the center of the roof. She turned, facing the corner, and suddenly did a hopping run, still favoring her injured leg a little.

Right as she reached the corner, she began flapping her wings desperately, trying to stay airborne as long as possible. She kept going for about thirty feet, descending not quite rapidly enough to be called a fall.

She hit the ground, skidding for a bit before falling over onto her side, letting out a happy series of yips and chirps.
