Sardar laughed a little. There wasn't really a reason, he was just very happy. Who would have known that a little kiss could make him feel so warm?

His ear stopped flicking at her touch, and he closed his eyes, pulling her close but still comfortable. Just being close to her sent warmth shivering through him... and he didn't want it any other way. Oddly, the fact Tacita had left him behind didn't hurt as bad with Evadne at his side.

Her fingers ghosted across his ear, tenderly smoothing the velvety silver fur.

Evadne loved his laugh and couldn't stop the smile it sent playing across her lips. He pulled her closer. She felt the warmth of his body against hers in the cold water, smelled the clean, warm scent of his skin and couldn't help but to feel that she belonged here in his arms.

Sardar was surprised to find that she fit almost perfectly into his arms. He loved her smile, and how warm she made him feel... and well, everything he knew about her and could tell about her. The feeling was so gentle and so powerful... and he never wanted it to fade.

Loathe as she was to break the silence, she wanted him to know how she felt. But what would she say? That she really liked being with him?

Yeah, that sounded stupid. Her tongue couldn't seem to be able to find the words needed to describe exactly how she felt. Despite the short amount of time they had known each other, at that moment, in his arms, she felt as though she belonged. She had never felt out of place in her family or in the world, but here in Sardar's arms, she couldn't imagine being anywhere else, with anyone else.

Hmm, perhaps she was over-thinking things... Instead of speaking, she kissed his cheek.

Sardar gently rested his cheek on the top of her head after she kissed it, her scent being embedded into his memory. She really was something special to him...

"Eva," he couldn't help but feel a little nervous, causing him to give another light laugh. "I think it's safe to say I'm falling for you..." he hoped he hadn't spoke too soon. He didn't want to somehow mess up this warmth..

Eva closed her eyes, willing herself to take in and remember everything about this moment. She could feel the steady thump of his pulse against her cheek, hear soft rumble of his voice in his chest, smell the water on his skin, still taste his lips on hers...

She felt as though they were hurtling forward like a pair of comets, heedless of their path or destination. Perhaps they were moving too fast, but somehow she couldn't bring herself to think that is was wrong. "I think I've already fallen." She whispered.

Sardar smiled, running a hand through her tan hair. He didn't want to interrupt again, but they would need to move sometime. Regretfully, he moved his cheek from her head only to give her another soft kiss, letting it last a little longer this time.

It all felt so right..

"If we're not careful, we'll catch cold," He laughed a little, feeling silly for saying that. It wasn't good to stay in such cold water for too long, though.. and it would be easier to be closer when they were on ground again.

Evadne smiled into the kiss, different, but no less perfect than the first.

"But I'm so comfortable right here..." She chuckled softly, leaning into his embrace. "But yes, you're right." She sighed. In his arms, the happy warmth had been such that she hadn't noticed the creeping chill of the water. Taking his hand again, not wanting to lose contact with him, she led him to shore. The hot, muggy air was almost a relief after the cold water.

After shaking some of the water off, she looked over at him thoughtfully. She'd only ever met him on the road and he never spoke of any permanent home... "Do you have a place to stay?"

Sardar shook off some of the cool water, being careful not to let it get on Eva. He found himself wishing that there was a temperature between that of the water and the air, but he would have to settle. He gave her hand a gentle squeeze, smiling down at her.

Then her question sank in. He blushed a little, rubbing the back of his neck with his free hand. "No, I've only camped in different places since we arrived. Nothing more permanent than maybe a blanket thrown over some brush for a rainy day.." It felt a little odd admitting that he didn't have a home...

Eva smiled contentedly up at him as she gently brushed the back of his hand with her thumb. He was adorable when he blushed...

She knew he was searching for his sister and that meant a life on the road, but she didn't want to leave his side. Now it was her turn to flush pink, "I-I have a place, it's small, but if you... if you need a place to stay... You're welcome to stay with me."

Sardar smiled, a stronger blush forming at the idea of living with this female he had grown to care for so deeply. He kissed her forehead, just above one of her light eyes. "I would like that.. very much." His red eyes warmer than they had been when he had first met her, he kept her hand tight. He didn't want to be away from her long, even when he was searching.

Eva returned his kiss with one of her own, gently brushing his lips with hers. Drawing back, she smiled lovingly up at him. Her paws shifted, dancing in place; an outward manifestation of her pleasure. "Come on then, it's not far." She laughed happily and squeezed his hand gently, leading him to a path that wound through the underbrush.

Sardar laughed softly, his tail wagging happily. He followed her eagerly, a little overwhelmed by everything happening so fast. Silent to talking to being alone and searching to finding Evadne and now... Falling in love with her and going to live with her.

He didn't let it bother him, though. It felt right. Subconsciously, he began to take in and memorize everything about the area so he could easily find his way back.

The path they followed led them upstream and as they walked, Eva chatted happily about the forest, her tail wagging ceaselessly. She pointed out deer trails and rabbit runs, good fishing spots and places to find herbs and mushrooms.

After about a mile and a half of walking, the forest opened up into a sunny meadow, much of which had been converted into a large garden. At the far end of the meadow, uphill from the garden and sitting in the shadow of a small ridge, was a little stone cottage. She looked up at him and blushed, suddenly feeling rather self-conscious about showing him her quaint little home. "Well, there it is. It's not much, but it's home."

Sardar listened to every word, putting her description of what was found where to the little map he was making out in his head. He could easily find his way back if he had to go far.

He looked at the little cottage, finding that it was quite homey and cute. He grinned at her when she blushed. "Wow..." Not wanting to let go of her hand, he took a few slow steps forward, taking in all that she had. She was quite settled in.. opposite of what he was used to. He had almost forgotten how to live in one place. "It's perfect. It's more than I have seen in a long while.. plus it had Eva.
