Ara was nodded, still a little worried, but let it go. There was nothing they could do about it. Still. They'd better hope their first child took after her more than Odi. He had briefly described Sin to her, she knew he wasn't a fool. If they were lucky he wouldn't realize, and if they were super lucky even if he did realize the kit belonged to Odi he wouldn't say anything.
The sound of crunching foliage nearby startled Ara a bit. She felt Odi leap up, and moved to sit properly. The vixen that emerged stunned her a little. She didn't need to hear Odi's whisper to know who she had to be. Ara struggled to stand. She was just a tad wobbly, but didn't feel like she would topple. She gently nudged the tip of her nose against Odi's cheek. "You look just like her," she quietly murmered.

Rei kept her eyes on Ara for a moment as she moved to take a better look at the young Vixen her soon had been laying with. "Thank you, he's one of my pride and joy." She said, she still had emotion for her murderous children. Finally taking in Ara she bowed respectfully. "I hope your taking care of my son." She said still with no tone.
She looked at Odi frowning, "Why did you let a snakebite you?" She knew how snakebites worked, she was just wondering how her son would make such a mistake.
Odi frowned as he watched her then laid back down. Holding himself up hurt to much. "Mom this is Ara, Ara this mom. Ara's my...mate mom..." he said it feeling awkwardly. He was a mama's boy so he didn't want to see her not accept it. "And I'm like this because...I forgot to check the tall grass again. It's nothing dangerous mom." He said, he didn't want her to know what had happend.

Ara returned the bow with equal respectful. "I think we manage to take care of each other equally. We are lucky to have the other there when one gets into trouble." She smiled a little. It was true, though so far she had yet to do much for Odi besides reintroduce him to a water phobia. It seemed a little better, but she still had to go in first and scare the fish away, subtly, just to be sure there wasn't a sudden relapse.
Ara moved closer to Odi, frowning a little. Something was wrong beside just being tired. It bugged her that she didn't know what, since she couldn't really remember much clearly after he had found her. Hearing him use the word mate for the first time left her blushing a little. Ara would be forever grateful to her parents for her red fur! It took a lot of willpower not to frown even deeper hearing Odi's lie, or to instantly check him over. When had he been bitten by a snake? How serious was it? She'd nearly died, and she had no deity to call on to help Odi. She didn't call him on his lie though, figuring it was for a good reason. "Maybe I should look for something to put over the bite," Ara said softly, bending down to nuzzle Odi a little.

"I'm happy to hear that. I must say I never thought he find someone he would care about." She said giving a tiny smile at them. She liked this Ara. "Too late, look on his let...weird angle though almost like he held it their." She said out loud figuring Odi wasn't stupid enough to play with snakes. ((She has no idea)) "It's past dealing with. He'll just have to suffer but he wont die." She said looking at the two taking in another warm feeling.
Odi frowned realizing that his mother had just given away his earlier attempt to save Ara. He'd keep that to himself for now, she just seemed tired and his mom didn't mention it. He nuzzled her back gently then stopped blushing his white fur turning a light pink. "Uhh, Mom...I have a question. You ever heard of a Shadow Beast?" He asked and frowned when his moms face took on a deep frown. "Is it bad?" he said tensing slightly.

((Manipulation of scenery, MUHAHAHAH!!!))
Ara frowned a little. "Wait here just a moment." She ran off into the forest, a little shaky a first but getting steadier and faster as she ran. It didn't take her long to get back, with something stiff and brown in her jaws. She set it down in front of Odi. "You can chew on that, it should help numb the pain a little."
Ara looked back and forth between Odi and his mom. Both had serious looks on their faces, which made her think she'd missed an important question. Mom looked like she was going to speak, so maybe Ara hadn't missed all of it.
((Already calling her Mom XD Best she's got though, doesn't know Rei's name. Also she gave him willow bark. It's a good natural asprin.))

Odi looked down at the brown stuff in puzzlement. He looked sideways at her and frowned slighlty. "Is that...chewed rat?" He asked hesitant before reaching down and and picking it up and chewing. "Go on mom." He said awkwardly around his chew.
Rei pondered why her son asked him this question but let the question's come later. "The shadow beast was a god much like in Lunarie. Only thing is it was imprisoned by the others for being evil. It's something you don't want to deal with. It lives down here was us in a temple of human make. It loves heart blood of foxes. Often it will set up foxes to meet then force them into a situation to give up their first born kit. Once given the kit it corrupts it into a twisted killing machine. One smart enough and violent enough to bring it hearts of foxes. If a fox doesn't bring it the two foxes will die at the hands of their first born kit. There is more too it if you want to hear it. It's just a wise tale we tale kits to keep them out of human buildings." She said looking at the looks of both of them.
Odi sat his entire body on edge as he listened to the story. He looked sideways at Ara the feeling now was, did it really happen like that.

Ara rolled her eyes a little and gave Odi a slight shove with her nose, but didn't otherwise react to his complaint about the willow bark. She already know it worked for taking away the aches and pains of travel. Snake bites she wasn't too sure about, but she was willing to give it a shot.
Ara sat to listen to the story. Her own eyes slide sideways to look at Odi. In her mind she was thinking even the blood-thirsty and the killers had good inside them, no matter how deeply buried. Most wouldn't peg Odi for a momma's boy after the first meeting. And maybe she just wasn't as upset because there were no kits on the way. Like you had to become a mom to really get what it was like. She wrapped her tail halfway around herself, the end brushing Odi's back legs. "I'm sure we would like to hear more of the story. To pass on one day to others," she added, the fainted pained smile on her face.

Odi looked sideways Ara, he could see the pain in her face and he only sighed lightly. He had no other choice, if he was only going to have to deal with his convictions then he would be fine with it. However if it endangered Ara he would not let that go. "Yea mom. I can't remember the full story from being a kit." He said, he truely didn't remember the story.
Rei emotionless face didn't move s she heard the two of them. It was a old wise tale that was going to die. And she knew for a fact she never told Odi this one. Not after his father nearly let him get ate by that alligator when he was kit. "Well, the two foxes are let to do their own as long as it get's it kit. Often it would send a white snake to fix whatever the issue was. Often though it would let the one making the deal suffer, sort of like a agreement of the deal. Also the first kit is often unstable. If it knew that it was ruined for life because of it's parents it will try to earn their love...in the only way it can. Trying to take the hearts of it's sibling to give to it's pare-" As she was about to continue her story she was suddenly cut off by Odi.
"Mom stop now!" He snarled as he moved forward. His vision turned red and he started to drool slighlty before falling down still snarling. His blood lust had rose from his anger at himself but he couldn't move from the venom. "..."
"Your bloodlust...you said you were over it." She said walking beside him and checking his eyes. "Do you know he has this issue?" She asked frowning as Odi seemed to try and move his head to snap at his mother to no avail.
((See he's a killer! My last long post for tonight. See you tomorrow. ))

Ara moved a little so she wouldn't be directly in line with Odi's jaws, though didn't break contact with him. She was quite certain he was capable of hurting her in this state, however much he would regret it when he returned to himself.
"Yes, but this is my first time witnessing it," she admitted to Mom. Whatever you could say about Ara and her occasional naive spells, she was also tough. Or maybe it was denial. She just didn't believe that all would end badly for the kit. There was always a way, in her mind. Kits were born in multiples, always at least two for regular foxes, so there would be a sibling. If Ara had to she would take the little one away until it grew up and found a life of it's own. But she was convinced it wouldn't have to come to that, and that conviction gave her strength. What happened had happened. Ara might never eat berries again if this was what came out of it, but they would make it work somehow.
Ara's current concern was Odi. She wasn't sure how much of him was in control. Was it possible to bring him back, or would the bloodlust have to run it's course? While Mom examined him, Ara lay down next to Odi. She kept her body close to his and curled up, slowly wiggling forward unti lher head pressed against his belly midway up. She curled up even tighter, closing her eyes as though going to drift to sleep. A contented little hum came from her throat. It was an old lullaby that had stayed with her from her kithood, though she'd long forgotten the words. Even if the presence of two loved ones couldn't calm him down, she was willing to wait for him to calm himself. And, deep inside, she felt her heart break a little at the pain that must have caused him to snap like this.

Odi mind was in full rage as he tried to move to bite at the two females. He tried to lift himself up but the sudden rush of the vemon gave him temporary paralysis. Also the attempts at trying to move tired him out. He laid in his position still slavering. As he Ara touch his side he was able to lift his head enough to look toward her. The silent humming was enough to bring him back to his own free will. He laid taking deep breaths to further calm himself. "I'm sorry..." He managed after a few minutes feeling utterly guilty. "Ara...Mom..." He frowned closing his eyes, he just wanted to disappear then his anger turned back to his dad. It was his fault, now he was going to be just like him. Giving his kit a false life.
Rei nodded at Ara after hearing her speak. "I see...his father was worst." She said as if it was some consolation to the situation. She gently petted him while he laid their, it hurt her to see her son in this state but she had to get over it. "I can only guess you too are dealing with the Shadow Beast." She said it in a calm way as she watched him come back. "It's fine Odi. You didn't hurt us. Just rest." She cooed.

Ara stayed where she was 'til she finished the tune. It was such a beautiful lullaby, she wished she could remember the words. She could recall it being sung to her as a kit, and she'd always fall asleep right as the last note cleared from the air.
Ara sat up, remaining close to Odi. She smiled at him reassuringly. "It's all right. It'll all work out somehow, we'll find a way." Rei might have found the content of Ara's sentence odd for a simple rage attack, but there wasn't much of anything to read into in her words.

Odi just stayed silent as he listened to her. This day was a living hell. The only good part about it was that he was able to save Ara. "Maybe..." He grumbled too her.
Rei watched the two for a long moment. Her suspicion was growing more but she ignored it. This was her son's new life and she wasn't going to complain. This female made him happy so she was going to accept her. "Can I speak with you alone Ara?" She asked walking away slightly, it wasn't really a question.

Ara nuzzled Odi reassuringly. "We will," she repeated, conviction strong in her voice.
Rei asked to speak to Ara alone and walked away a little ways a way. Ara nudged Odi with her nose then stood and followed Rei.

Odi nuzzled her back, he did feel better with her so close to him. "I trust you." He said as he laid his head down. The pounding was horrible and besides. Whatever they were going to talk about it wasn't so bad.
After seeing Ara was coming Rei walked farther ahead. Finding a spot where she was sure that Odi couldn't hear but they could keep a eye on him did she stop. As she looked Ara over one last time she spoke. "My son is very lucky to have you...but you need to be careful with him. He can be dangerous. He hasn't...shown any other issues have he?" She made a small notion at a puddle, if Ara knew then it was fine. If she didn't Rei would let her deal with it on their own time together.

Ara looked curiously at the water puddle Rei had pointed to. It took her a moment to realize what Rei was talking about. "I know about his......phobia. We traveled to the ocean together once. It was-," she paused, shrugging. Really it wasn't that bad.
