"Fun?" Marcus repeated, having not anticipated the question. He got over the shock quickly, mentally shrugging and continued by saying, "I don't really do much for fun... As I said, I normally just travel around on my own. Fun really has nothing to do with it... What about you?"

Well I.. mmm.. I've never really played with other foxes. Even as a kit I was quite and out of the way. Anila keep walking and pasted Marcus so that they could continue down the path. I suppose finding a beautiful spot and relaxing could be fun. I don't know of any spots around here like that though. Anila turned her head back to glance at Marcus. Do you?

Marcus shrugged at Anila's question, more out of habit than as an actual answer. "I may have a place in mind," he replied. "Ironically enough, it's up a nearby mountain." Marcus walked a little further down to catch up with Anila. "If you're up for going there. It isn't as high up the mountain as we were, so it won't be as cold." He stopped, waiting for her answer. He knew a path through the forest that led straight to the mountain from where they were. He nodded in the direction and informed the Phim, "It's down that way."

Anila smiled a bit. Well as long as it’s close by I don’t mind. But if it’s too cold you’ll find me using you for a heating pad. She had tried to make this last part of the statement as a joke; however, she still blushed after SHE said it. She looked at the path that Marcus had indicated. I would feel more comfortable if you took the lead, since you know where you’re going and I would just get us lost.

Marcus returned the smile, which grew wider at her comment. He decided not to comment on it, since immediatly afterwards it seemed that Anila regretted saying it. "It's not too cold up there," Marcus reassured her as he regained the lead and began heading toward the mountain he had been to. "We're actually going to the one place on the mountain that, for some reason, doesn't really have any snow."

Anila saw a glimpse of Marcus's smile and blushed even more. Why had she said something so thoughtless. It had just slipped out! She managed to regain her composer after a moment though. No snow on a mountain? Was that even possible? Really? Anila's voice betrayed her wonder at the idea. Her ears were perked forward and her wings twitched in a bit of excitement. She loved high places but hated being cold.

Marcus nodded in response. "It's probably hard to believe, but yeah," he said. "Technically it's up a mountain, but it's not very high. You have to climb up, then down into a... crater, I guess." He shrugged, he didn't have any other word for it. "It's hard to give directions to, but it's worth the trip, in my opinion." Marcus had only been there once in his life, very recently. He still knew where to go, though. It hadn't been too long since he had walked this path, but now he wasn't alone.

A crater? It sounds interesting. Lets check it out. Anila was interested in seeing this oddity, And even more so she was looking forward to spending more time with Marcus. She looked at him and again marveled at his appearance. Then she started thinking. How often do you meet a fox who is both pretty and kind. She was very lucky.

"I'm glad you think so," Marcus replied, oblivious to her stares. "I wonder what your reaction shall be upon actually seeing it." He continued on in front, and soon their path became a slope up the correct mountian. "It really won't take too long, now," he informed her. "Up a bit more, over a few ridges..." He was more talking to himself than anyone else, at this point. Recalling the last time he had hiked this mountain wasn't too difficult. As a wanderer, he had a great sense of direction.

Anila followed Marcus listening careful to his every word. In her mind she tried to picture what the crater would look like. Would it have sharp rocks or smooth? Would it be warm or cool? At least I know it doesn’t have a bunch of snow. Anila’s wings twitched she considered maybe taking a bit of a flight in the crater area. It would look different from above and by staying close to the ground she wouldn’t have to worry about falling to far.

Marcus, still a few steps ahead of Anila, stopped at the top of the ridge. Peering down into the crater from between two rocks, he saw the same, beautiful sight he had seen last time. Some how, and he didn't know how, a lake had formed in the middle of the crater and with the water came vegetation. This was what he had returned to see. Among the grasses and herbs were many flowers, mostly different shades of blue and purple. From above it almost mirrored a body of water.
It was a fairly steep slope into the crater, and Marcus had to run down just to keep his footing. Upon reaching the bottom, he turned to look up at Anila, awaiting her descent into the crater.

Anila stood overlooking the creator and was in awe. It was beautiful. She stretched her wings and did a running glide down the crater side. It was safe since she wasn't trying to fly alone. Some of the flower petals flew up in the air where she came to a stop at the bottom. This place is beautiful. She said a little bit breathless.

Marcus watched her fly into the crater, the wind rustling the flowers and detaching the petals. They flew around her, purple and blue, in a very picturesque fashion. He simply stared; beauty continued to amaze him today.
He walked over to where she landed, nodding, as he went, in agreement with her statement. “I thought it would be fitting. Purple, blue, flowers, mountain tops. But it’s less cold than before,” he said, smiling and turning to look at her. “I was hoping you would appreciate it. And very glad that you do.”

Fitting? How exactly was this place fitting. It was simply beautiful beyond reason. Then slowly Anila began to grasp the full weight of Marcus's statement. She was like these flowers in color and the mountain made them as close to the air as flowers could ever be. Unlike Phims who could usually soar. Anila looked at Marcus warmly and smiled thankfully. Your a real poet Marcus. She knew in that moment that sometime she would try to fly again but forgetting Marcus would never be possible since he had just given her the courage to fly again. Than she would find Marcus and show him.
(>.> Anila is learning to fly again with Morin in another RP. She won't be in this RP though. Maybe a few short glides like she did down the crater edge but nothing major. )

Marcus stood watching her, pleased with the reaction the valley ellicited from her. At her words though, he shook his head. "I don't believe so," Marcus said with a little smile. "I simply like the view."
He turned away, and walked through the field of flowers to the water's edge. It was clear, the purest spring water to be found anywhere, in Marcus's opinion. He took a short drink, the climbing had made him thristy.
