Yay! I finally started writing again! (I would give myself a pat on the back, but my shoulders are sore)
Update: The Forest of Frailty Word count: 5513
Okay, so I epically failed my goal, so I suppose I should set a new one. But I'm just gonna run on motivation from new ideas for now.
@KaNugget: How cool! What does he advise you on? Your story (or love life...XD)? I would love to personally know people from another countries. So far I know one... my grandpa. wink

Not particularly, no. I do like Prince of Egypt, but I really think that's more of a "Holy crap, they made a musical out a bible story!" thing.
Super-Religious, I am not, but the Old Testament has some amazing stories in it.

Phade - Oh yes, I love Brendan Fraser and love that scene! I like Prince of Egypt, can't say if it is Biblically correct though haha. Nooo idea.
Neuschwanstein Princess - Ahh I have a problem with children's books. In my head I have my own versions of the tales and would hate them to be changed. The movie looked alright but...not my cup of tea. Apart from Harry Potter, I don't read many kid's books.
I like living in the UK just because it's only a couple of hours flight time to exotic European places haha.

He's my college advisory, lol. He advises me on my schedule. He's also in charge of the honors department (which is why he's my advisory because I'm undecided and plan on taking honors). I hope I end up taking one of his classes as one of my honor classes. He's a really cool dude.
Yeah, mainly the people I know who are foreign are people from Portugal, the Cape Verde, and Brazil. I'm from a very Portuguese city. Actually I have a friend from the Caribbean, but he's been too integrated in the American culture. Walter though (My advisory's name is Walter) is still perfectly German smile

@General: Haha. I don't like musicals if they're not cartoons, cause at least cartoons make it exciting. My favorite is Hercules. I couldn't resist buying some of the songs from that show.
And, I should probably know more about the Old Testament than I do...
@Desert: Harry Potter is the series that inspired me to really write, I so absolutely love it, to say the least. I'll tell you I sometimes wish I lived in Europe, but about EVERYONE I know does, at least for a little while. So, nothing special.
@KaNugget: Can you speak any German? Its one of two languages I've wanted to learn, and my dad knows a little so sometimes I hear random words I don't understand. I like honors classes- you always get to skip past the boring basics that the regular classes go through. And it just goes to show what you've achieved, which is also a plus wink

Non, je parle anglais et un petit francais. I was going to write, "No, I speak English and a little French," but I thought showing off my basic French knowledge was more impressive. And since I took duel credits in French when I was in high school I don't need to take a language in college so Walter will never teach me German. Mawahahahaha!
Walter teaches an honors classes that studies the fantasy genre. Pretty interesting, I'll either take that or the History of the Irish in Ireland, America, and Rhode Island since I'm so proud of my Irish blood.
Honors at my school is very different than a high school honors course. The professor makes his or her own class and you know they care because they choose to teach the class. You can either take an honors class, or join the honors program. With the honors program there are like, are 4 required kinds of classes, with a large selection to choose from and then a project. You graduate with an honors degree and now that my medication is all straighten out (for the most part) I think this is something I could handle.
Unfortunately I couldn't take any honor classes this semester. I dropped that Irish class in order to fit in bio.

@KaNugget: French! Impressive. I like to hear a little about college. Some of the things you say remind me of me; I would love to take a class on fanatsy genre! And history has always facinated me (not American History, that interest died when I was learning it for the fifth time in fifth grade.) But I fully intend to take history classes in college.

Update: The Forest of Frailty Word count: 6299
And in honor of my new drive to keep going, I'm going to post a little excerpt!
"Master Louie, I think it would be good for your health to take a walk through the garden. You haven't been outside in days." Holly reccomended as she dusted the top of a dresser in the room he currently occupied. "Neither has Narcissa." Holly rolled her eyes, as if that was a valid statement. She left the room after that, and headed down to the kitchen were she could take a break from cleaning. Holly had seen mansions that were larger and grander by far, but Louie's estate was exceptional, and every time she had to clean it, it seemed to get even bigger. A break was always welcome. Often while she sat by herself downstairs, she'd think about her old life. She hadn't always been a maid. Before she'd gotten herself trapped here, she'd been a seamstress at a small shop in Windsong... "Will you marry me?" The words had rang in Holly's head long after they'd been said. Not to her. To Brenda. Caught up in her blind love for Henry, Holly hadn't realized he was more interested in the tavern wench across the street. Not until he'd proposed to her in the middle of the street, where everyone could see. Including Holly. She felt stupid. He had never done anything to suggest he liked her, not even the occasional wave or friendly hello. She'd loved him from afar, watching him pass by the shop window every day on his way to the university. Once, she'd struck up brief conversation with him when he came to buy a new waistcoat. He also ordered a new dress, one that probably belonged to Brenda now. Holly's heart was broken, but there was no one to be angry with but herself. She wanted to leave, run away and never look back on the town. There was no one here for her now, her family was dead, she was too busy working to have friends. But when her parents had died, they'd left her with nothing, except a debt that needed to be paid. Holly tried to forget Henry, but the pain in her heart would never leave. Her work became sloppy, and many of her fingers bled from pin-pricks. Her hands were whipped for poor performance and her food rations began to dwindle. The shop mistress became suspicious that Holly might try to leave before her debt was paid, and had her ankle chained to the table at her workstation.

All my life I promised myself I would take Portuguese once I got to high school. But when I got in 7th grade and was accepted into the early language program I ended up choosing Spanish. A week into 8th grade and I switched out of Spanish for French. Who ever saw that coming? Well I've never regretted my decision.
If I ever study aboard it'll either be in Ireland or France (how could would it be if I went aboard for two semesters and went to both). I almost went to France this year, but I decided against it because my parents said that it was either France or a car. Guess who's still not getting a car? xp
I sometimes wonder if I'm ditching my Portuguese heritage in favor for my Irish one, but I honestly don't feel Portuguese. I'm an Irishwoman at heart. Growing up in a city like mine everyone is Portuguese, so I guess I kind of like being the different Irishwoman. People don't even believe me that I'm Portuguese because I'm so pale. The funny thing is, I've got Black Irish in me too, you just can't see it.
I'm not French at all, though. I just love the language and culture.
By the way: Nice entry. Sad though. Now I'm sad. Thanks for ruining my dad. xd

Harry Potter does capture the UK perfectly haha. However, living here all my life I don't see the appeal! I plan to move out of the country when I have my degree if I go into teaching. If not and I go into publishing, I will probably stay in the UK...even though I don't want to.
I love the name Narcissa by the way, always reminds me of the tale of Narcissus. I love the excerpt smile

@KaNugget: I took one year of spanish, much of my family speaks it so I felt like I should too. Now I have stronger reasons to learn other languages. I never felt much of a tie to my heritage; my blood is so mixed, I could chose nearly anything in the world and go with it. And, I don't have a car either. wink
And about my excerpt; reading through it now, I realize that it is a sad piece, but the rest of my story is hardly what I'd call sad so I didn't think much about it. I'll post a happier excerpt next time.
@Desert:I suppose we all get bored of the places we grew up in. What country catches your attention? I heard the name Narcissa from Harry Potter first. Glad you like what I wrote.

Yes! I just finished writing my entry for the short story competition and I'm so pleased with it! And it was so much fun to write! I still need to do a little bit of editing, but it's mostly done.
I also just sold my reve rouille so I could buy a dappy dandy. I never have enough money to have both, so I just have to keep one til I'm bored of it and then sell if for the other. Still... I hate selling nice items. I'm kind of on an edge now.
But, finishing my story makes me feel alot better! Now I need to get siblings to bed... its 12 here.

@Desert: History definitely facinates me, which is why I chose to write something in the past. Culture is pretty cool too, but I have a hard time understanding some of the things that go on in other countries. There are some wonderful things out there though- foreign food= yay!
If I had a choice, I wouldn't actually go to any of the countries you listed. I'm more interested in Mexico, Germany, and Japan. And its because of that, that I want to learn Spanish, German, and Japanese, go figure.
