Maikau walked through the house calmly, leading the Guard Party. He turned around, glancing at his surroundings and smiled. This was indeed his target. It was clear. Payment on this fool was large, and his client clearly wanted him dead. Maikau turned to the Captain of the Guard, his entire face, along with his malevolent grin, hidden by the hood of his cloak. All around him, the overlong, tattered hem of the ebony garment billowed violently, even without any wind. It was completely silent, despite the constant flapping, and didn't interrupt his almost inaudible whipser as it escaped his lips in a sadistic tone.

"Cease fire! He's mine... Send Sor and Krie to Chorral. Have them alert my client that I've found the target. Though I'll likely outrun them after I catch this idiotic thief, he's led me this far from the town, so he might yet escape. If I see him though, I'll kill him. The Sting should be plenty. Thieves don't have the necessary spells to counter it in most cases. Just leave this one to me, Rii. The last time you tried to capture my victim, he got away. You won't do the same to this one."

With that, Maikau turned around, bolted out the same escape window that Kah had used, and jumped onto the same treeline that his target had used. He knew that this one wouldn't be harder than any other targets. Minotaurs were more challenging than any sentient opponent had ever been, and they fell within seconds of being spotted by Maikau. He knew that he'd be back at Chorral within two days, carrying his victim's bloody weapon. He knew that Kah would be dead within minutes. He knew all of this, yet he was wrong about every bit.

Nonetheless, he had spotted his target. He knew that Kah would assume that the Guards would stop any chase given by Bounty Hunters or Assassins. He always liked the surprised look on his victim's nearly-invisivble faces as he spotted them, snuffing their lives out like candles on a windy day. He leapt up, as high as he could, more than twenty feet above the treeline with the help of a jump spell, and raised his staff as his smile grew wider. He uttered a single command to the weapon in his hand.

"Sting."

The projectile was invisible as it sped toward Kah faster than an arrow, and Maikau knew it wouldn't miss. He had been wrong before, however, and he knew that anything could happen. He knew that Kah would have spotted him just as easily as he had spotted Kah. The cloak was like a low cloud, that wavered constantly, yet never actually moved. A levitation spell kept Maikau in the air. If his shot missed, he'd use it again. Magicka wasn't the limitation to this spell; the amount of poison vials strapped to the inside of his cloak was.

Arnix was fast asleep inside his humble cottage door ajar and windows unbolted, he feared nothing and everything feared him. That was his first mistake, his second was leaving his axe out the front on the poorch.

I he was deaming, about women as usual, then those women were struck down, every single one of them dead. Quickley he awoke, "s**t!" Then he remembered the assassin they tried to kill him today. Then he noticed that the people that struck down the women in his deam were clade the same. So up he got, and went to fetch his axe. Gone, his axe was gone. "Must have left out at the cliff." So he statred to walk. As soon as he got there he noticed that the body was gone. "Animals!" As soon as he said that he noticed no tracks of any sort, no slide marks nothing, except one pair, Argonian, he was sure. But the problem was they were no other foot-prints none leading to the spot and none going away from it either. He spoted a glimmer in the moonlight. I was his axe. "There you are Betsey, I've missed you!" He went to pick it up when he noticed, a note tied to it.

'My lord Arnix Carum, You have been marked by the Dark Brotherhood. Come to Chorral. That is where you will find all the information you need.'

He picked up his axe and egar to find this mistery informant, he set out for Chorral.

"Chorral, why is it always Chorral, hey boy." He was talking to his one and only faithfull compaion. His dog Augur. Augur barked happially as they walked.

On the fourth day he was sitting down enjoying a nice brandy, when Augur yelpt. Arnix forgot his brandy and rushed quickley to his dogs side. He was dead, there was nothing he could do, he looked up. He was sorounded by the Dark Brotherhood, he stood up brandishing his axe. then one of them spoke, with a heavy Argonian accent. 'Kill him I want his head on a plate.' "Fowl lizard. " He yelled and charged the Argoinan. But the rest of the Dark Brotherhood stood in his way. And all at once the said. 'Beg for mercy Snow Man!'

He ducked on blow and swung up straight through the Altmers groin, spliting him in half. Then ran straight at another dislodging his head while the rest of then regained their composure. He looked he had four of them slowley walking towards him and the Argonian was just standing there laughing. At once they struck as if by command, he ducked, two of the fell to the ground with each others blades stuck in each others faces. They Arnix did a sweep kick taking the legs out from the other two. He stood up kicked away their weapons. And at that point the Argonian stoped laughing, he new he was in trouble. He tried to move but his feet failed him. Arnix looked at him, then with two swift blows killed the other two. He looked at the Argonian, and smiled. The Argonian ran, he knew the redguard couldn't catch him. They maybe fearless warriors but they are slow in al their armor. The Argonian glanced back an noticed for just one second the Redgurad standing in the same spot, before a shortblade lodged itself in his face.

Being skilled in the illusion brand of magic, Kah had slightly cast sanctuary on himself. The ring he was wearing had the enchantment, sanctuary times 30. The spell had hissed him but barely, Kah made a quick dive back into the jungle. And started bunny hopping this way and that trying to thrown the wizard off of his trail. That spell of his has to have a limit somehow, if he's a wizard, he has great magika, so it must be something else. Kah knew that spell from somewhere, he read about it a while back. Started with an S or something. The sanctuary would keep him safe for another 5 spells. He would dash through the forest and hide until he was positive the man was gone. He did not want to be a slave again. Maybe his friend in Anvil could help clear the bounty. Kah started off in the dense forest while concentrating on his footwork, he could not have something distract him at the moment.

Arnix kept walking, they journy seemed to take longer with out his companion. He sat down and pulled out another brandy and started drinking when he heard someone yell 'Sting' and then he heard rustling in the trees. "Not again, why must I alwas be interupted when ever I have my brandy, I'M FINNISHING THIS THEN I WILL HELP YOU OK!!"

So Arnix picked up his axe and strarted walking when something above him ran throught the trees, "It can't be!" He ran after the Kahjit in the trees. "KAH SLOW DOWN YOU N'WAH!"

"What a day..." came from under Maikau's hood as he looked into the almost dense treeline on the edge of the jungle that Kah had charged into. It can't be... I may not be able to get anything from my client, but the Dark Brotherhood will-"

At that point, his eyes caught on something. The levitation scroll, which was actually just a very strong slowfall enchantment, wore off, and he fell forty feet to the ground. His legs bent slightly when he hit, simply to absorb the sound, and he was sure of it. That was Arnix Carum. That was the one wanted by the Dark Brotherhood. And no more than a hundred meters from him, laid the corpses of a Squad of Dark Brotherhood assassins. Now he was interested in more than killing the two.

"Arnix Carum!" The yell was as sudden as a lightning bolt, tearing through the ears of the recipients like a knife. In an instant, Maikau was in one of the trees on the very edge of the jungle, and within the next two seconds, he was in a tree overlooking the two bounties. Kah was still running, but Arnix had stopped at the sound of his name.

"So, Arnix," at this point, he started projecting his voice, so it was impossible to tell where he was, "I see that you've recently slaughtered a number of Dark Brotherhood Agents, and I want to know how. Not to say that hey weren't amateurs, but they were S'wits. How did you manage without getting so much as a scratch?"

( I'm confused on what is going on... did srnix run after me? and stop because maikau started talking, and why did I have to slow down...? I'm just going to continue on my way as if maikau is distracted at the moment by arnix and I will reach some safe place at the moment.)

Kah never stopped running from the wizard. He reached anvil and never said anything to anybody. Nobody even knew he was there. He cleared his bounty to the most extent he could, so at the most, he will be captured and thrown in prison for 5 years. But besides talking to his friend, who would never give information to everybody, he started making his way to valenwood. He would take a public boat under a false name to there and lay low for a while. About one month or so. Then he would stay there and start thieving again. That month laying low would definatly make sure the authorities would stop looking for him actively in cyrodil. "Who knows, maybe there is better things in Valenwood" he thought taking the boat. Under the new name of "Gam-Jut".

Arnix stoped suddenly, and turned around. He couldn't tell who or what was talking to him. He couldn't even tell where they were. "Why do you want to know?" He yelled trying to get an answer to pin point this person but with no avail. "That's exactly it they were a pack of S'wits, to predictable. I could tell what they were about to do before the did it. The same as in every battle. I have a 6th sence when it comes to fighting."

Arnix just stood their and closed his eyes. Then after a few moments he walked straight to wards Maikau. "But I have to concintrate to use it outside of battle!"

"Oh, and I'd like to thank you for letting to only person that robbed me and lived to get away again, I am so greatfull."

((Maybe you could tell us what race your character is, Gamemaniac? I'll modify my post to change what you said.))

Maikau admired his opponent's ability to sense where he was so easily, though he wasn't the first. Nonetheless, he had impressed Maikau enough so that he wasn't attacked on sight, and Maikau wanted information more than anything.

From out of the tree came the same black cloud, and Maikau hit the ground soundlessly. The staff in his hands, with it's Clanfear-skull top, seemed to glare at him through its empty sockets. Maikau's cloak was still moving viciously, yet not even a breeze reached it. From under the shadowed hood came a faint whisper.

"I suppose that you think that you have a sixth sense. All of my victims were competent fighters, yet they all have that title; victims. Your "sense" could just be a basis of your ability to read another person's intentions through their facial expression. My hood counters that. Or it could be the fact that you can react to an event almost instantly after it has happened. If that's the case, then my skill, speed, and ability to mold with the shadows counters that. If you fought me, you might win. Then again, you might lose. So, you can tell me about those N'wahs, and then I might give you a chance to beat me to that fetcher who kept running. If not, I won't fight you -I have no reason to- but I can run faster than you. You're no fool; you know that. I'll get to him first."

Zakkon hid in the upper boughs of a tree, confident that it's leaves would keep him hidden from the two men in the forest. He didn't have any reason to interfer, or worry that he might be discovered. Though he was the Deathblade, he was still a Bosmer, and the common nickname of Wood Elf was used for a good reason.

He was surprised by the power and stupidity of both men, so ready to kill each other. Not usually one to loot the corpses of those he hadn't killed himself, he figured that he'd make an exception in this case. Even from this distance, they seemed to have quite the interesting valuables on them, valuables that would make a good addition to his already formidable trove at the Deathblade Manor.

For now though, he'd sit and bide his time, for if the idiots didn't manage to end up both killing each other, then he'd just have to go through the little trouble and effort it would take to finish the survivor off. To him, either plan looked like a rewarding prospect.

Arnix just stood their staring at this hooded figgure. Eventually he replyed with answer that shocked himself. "This is not the time or the place, for we are not alone!" Arnix looked strait up into the tree they were standing under. "Bosmer Scum!" And cast a fire spell straight up into the branches......

"That proof enough for you!" he said with a broad grin!

Zakkon sat in a tree 30 feet from the burning wreckage that had once been his hiding place. Though he was physically unscathed, he cursed himself mentally for being so stupid and careless as to not have cast Invisibility on himself, figuring the fools below to be too unobservant and occupied to notice himself.

He chuckled quietly to himself though, for though neither fool would realize it this time, with a new hiding spot and Flitting Shadows cast upon him, he could now watch them from safety. These two were worth delaying his quest for, it'd be way too much fun to see what surprises these two might have, and perhaps even follow that annoying Redguard, assuming he doesn't die, just to see what other interesting tricks that one might have in store.

Arnix looked back at Maikau. "Now that I have atacked him, I shloud be able to sence him." He paused for a moment, then spoke. "He is still here, somewhere, but where exactly I can't tell. The fire statled the Scum but I believe he was unharmed. No if you'll excuse me I must go and find Kah before he leaves the provence, again." Anix turned and began to walk away, when from out of know where an arrow flew at him, he caught it looked at it for a bit then threw it to the ground and readied himself for the fight.

An Imperial figgure cald in the ancient Elven armor ran at him brandishing a sword and yelling, a tactic that would usually send a chill down any warriors spine. But Arnix isn't just any warrior. He waited patiently for the fool. The foe struck out with his blade, but Arnix new it was comming and drove his axe into the atackers back. The blow didn't kill him. The armor was to well crafted. But one strike was all he need. The Imperial turned and looked at Arnix "You N'wah" and froze. he was covered in ice. Arnix walked up to him and with the flat of his axe shattered him into millions of peices. He looked up into the trees from where the arrow came. And threw one of the daggers he kept from his battle earlier. With in a few moments a Dunmer fell from the tree with a dagger in his neck. "Dam I was aiming for his eye, oh well!" He look back at Maikau and smiled. Then statered walking agian.

Zakkon was unimpressed by this display of fighting prowress, any weapons master could've pulled it off, he'd seen more impressive acts from the collective memories of previous Deathblades.

He was in fact, more impressed that someone wearing such beautifully crafted armor, would've been stupid enough to just charge an enemy like that. His only thought was that the man must've been some rich noble's son, making his way through the world in order to try and find himself some glory.

As for this "being able to sense" Zakkon, that could be broken easily enough. A quick prayer to Notre Dame De Mort, and he could probably put things straight again. However, shadowing this man, while he was still perfectly aware of Zakkon would be much more interesting and fun to pull off. Though the other was more interesting than the Redguard, Zakkon preferred to not have to fight someone who might possibly have equal fighting (*note* or writing in real life, for I find the two, with a mix of imagination to make the strongest role playing char.) skills.

It did indeed seem more prudent for him, to follow the mentally deficient Redguard, so follow him he did.
PostPosted: Fri Jan 13, 2006 6:54 pm

As he continued to walk he sensed he was being followed, but he didn't need to turn around. His ability to sense had grown gretley these past frew day, he could now see through the eyes of his target, he enjoyed sitting down on the ground while his vision went with a bird, I was the most glories fealing he had ever had. And it gave him a great view of his sorounding landscape.

He retuned his attention to his follower, but he couldn't figgure out where he was. This frustrated him greatley. But being a Redguard he tired from this actvity quickley, as battle was the only thing that could hold his atention for long periods of time. Well that, and women!

He eventually came to Anvil, and went straight to the docks. He asked the first Captain he saw "Have you seen a Kahjit, they're usually not from around here so he shouldn't be hard to spot?" The Captain pointed to the next boat along 'He's there trying to bater a passage on the ship there.' Sure enough there was Kah. Arnix paid the Captin and ran straight towards Kah and place his hand on Kah's sholder. "So, think you could escape me that easily did you............"

Since he'd started following the Redguard, Zakkon had surmised that they were heading to Anvil. At nights, he'd creep very close to where the Redguard was sleeping, and listen to what he mumbled in his sleep. Talk of Khajits, in specific, one named Kah.

Zakkon was generally known for his cynicism and what most people would call "evilness, cruelty, and penchant towards homicide". But despite all this, he was a pretty unracist guy. Until it came to Khajits that is. Zakkon hated Khajits, to him the only "good" Khajit was a dead Khajit.

After gleaning this information from the mumbled sleep-muffled phrases, Zakkon smiled, and for once, this was a genuine, if not malevolent, smile. Mayhaps if this Redguard was in fact after this "Kah" to kill him, then he would indeed prove to be quite the interesting person to follow.

By the time they reached Anvil, Zakkon was no less stealthy. Born in the woods, raised in a city, he learned to become the shadows no matter where he was. As he spied upon the Redguard, he finally saw the prey that he'd been chasing this entire time. At the docks, the two met, and Zakkon saw it was too late to perhaps discuss working with the Redguard towards their common goal, killing the Khajit.

For now, he'd just stay hidden, and see how the events unfurled.
