They teach naginata in Katori Shinto Ryu. That would seem to be your thing.
Of course, it doesn't get fast till you advance some. ^^;

i do like the flal a lot but my true favorite is the sword and among that class its a toss up between the quick and efficent epee the, solid and graceful katana, or the shear might and magesty of the zwilehander(i know how to use the first two but seeing as i am pretty strong i think learning to use the later should be pretty easy for me)

I currently just do shotokan karate and was thinkin of picking up some kind of weapons training next year. I was playing around with the idea of staff based fighting but does anyone know if there is a weapons type that would be closly related to karate ? if any at all.

Karate is closely linked to kobudo thanks to the common Okinawan roots.
Weapons taught in kobudo would be the sai, tonfa, bo (staff), nunchaku and I believe sword too.

I currently have in my poesseion a Nunchaku and self taught myself, I want to learn the Guan Do, Katana, and Broad Sword.

just my two sence. but instead of practical go for something that makes u look cool, like dual swords of some swort. or rope-darts.

Although i don't train with weapons, i am interested in this one particular weapon called the nangsun. I haven't found any real good pics of it so if anyone can find me one that'll be sweet.
The nangsun is a large spear with branches. Each of the branches had poisoned hooks. It was typically used to take an enemy by surprise, as at first glance it would look like a tree. It was really cumbersome though, so after the first attack, it was pretty useless. I'm just interested in what it looks like.

Aikido with a jo staff thrown in. That way you could be carrying an umbrella or cane and if someone attacks you then you know how to subdue them.
And you won't get arrested for beating the snot out of someone.

Yeah, that tends to be a downside to weapons. There are hardly any that won't get you put into jail if you use them. Kinda makes you wonder why there is weapons training anymore, doesn't it?
On a different note, what is/are your favorite martial arts weapon(s)?
Mine is a spear or sword of almost any kind.
